Her father is the Doctor, and she was created secretly by the TARDIS, using some of his DNA, so he would be able to fit into Equestria better and not look out of place.

After an unfortunate mishap with a few TARDIS buttons, the big blue box of hope crashes into a Dalek destroyer, humbly waiting above Equestria, out of sight.
The Daleks are scared of something, something they have made themselves, something called 'The children of Tyr.'
