Applejack woke up at the crack of dawn, just like she did every day. She yawned as she leaned up and immediately noticed something wrong. She was being held down by something quite a bit heavier than her sheets and when she opened her eyes she knew why.
Applejack had shrunk again.
She was left staring at a single petal of poison joke laying on her bedsheets. Ever since the incident with Zecora Applejack avoided the stuff like the plague. Rainbowdash, however had been talking about how cool it would be to prank somepony with it for the past week. In all honesty she should have seen it coming.
Applejack grunted as she pulled herself out of the bed only to feel something wrapped around her head. With a quick hoof motion she tore off what she could now identify was a baby’s bonnet.
“Rainbowdash is a dead mare.” Applejack growled as she tossed the headpiece aside. Knowing that she was either going to have to wait for somepony to get her or to just go get somepony to help her get the cure at the spa Applejack decided to take the more active approach.
Looking around Applejack decided the best way to get down would be to slide down her comforter and then make her way toward the door and hopefully reach Big Mac or Apple Bloom. Applejack slid down with relative ease and only almost fell once before she touched ground. She whipped around, intent on making it to the door before something caught her eye.
There was a light coming from underneath her bed. It was barely visible and it flickered every now and then, not unlike a candle flame. Curious, Applejack walked under the bed and noticed the light was coming from a small hole in the trim of the wall. What was even more surprising was the welcome mat, bell, and the small door hanging open on the hole.
Applejack was not an easily scared pony, nor was she a curious mare but finding what appeared to be a home beneath your bed was more than a little disconcerting. Being extra quiet Applejack snuck up to the door before peering inside and blinked at what she saw.
Inside was what appeared to be a fully furnished bedroom made out of odds and ends. She saw matchbooks stacked on top of each other to form a bedside table. A bed constructed out of a small cardboard box with some hay in it and the hoofkerchief she had lost a week ago on it like a bed sheet. The light was coming from a small candle nub sitting on the other side of the bed in a tarnished candle holder. There was even another door made from a scrap of cloth on the far left side of the small room, while on the right side it dead ended at a studd.
Applejack cautiously took a step in to get a better look until she heard a scraping noise coming from the cloth door. Before she had time to duck back out she was met with a site that slowly combined with her bad day to make her blood boil.
It was a, relatively, large brown Rat with beady black eyes walking on its hind legs and, surprisingly, wearing a small stetson that fit it perfectly. What caught her eye, however, was the slice of apple it had slung over its shoulder.
The Rat froze upon seeing her, slowly the Rat glanced at the apple slice before looking back at her and then chucking the slice back through the cloth covered doorway and began twiddling it’s paws innocently.
“Ya no good apple stealing thief!” Applejack yelled as she charged at the varmint. She charged toward the apple thief as the Rat screamed before running through the doorway. Applejack followed shortly after only to trip over the slice of apple the Rat had tossed through earlier.
Applejack quickly got back up and saw the Rat running down the dark and empty ‘room’ and heading to another door carved out of a wall stud. She launched herself after it and found herself in another room with many stairs and ladders leading to places above and below. She saw the Rat standing in a small white room carved out of a larger dark green beam of wood, rappidly tapping something and glancing back at her every few moments.
Applejack kept her pace as she noticed two doors slowly closing the entrance to the room. Applejack pushed herself and as she got closer she noticed strange music coming from the room.

Applejack gave one final push and leapt in through the closing doors.
The doors shut and the room began to go down the hollowed out support beam as various sounds could be heard coming from it.

About ten seconds later the room dinged as the doors began to open before the were blown outward as the Rat was launched out with the same force as the cutie mark crusaders baking soda volcano, with less tree sap.
Applejack, sporting a forming black eye, leapt after the Rat and charged down the new hallway. This hallway had an assortment of collected metal objects like paper clips and bottle caps that the Rat weaved past. As Applejack chased the Rat she could have sworn she past a suit of armor, fit for the Rat, holding a spoon as the Rat turned down yet another hallway.
Applejack rounded the corner and grinned as she saw the Rat with its back against a dead end. “Now I got ya, ya no good yellow bellied apple thief!” Applejack said as she slowly, yet menacingly, trotted toward the cornered Rat.
The Rat just grinned as it leaned back against the wall, only for the wall to open up a crack as he slipped through.
“Oh come on!” Aj yelled as she once again charged down the hallways and burst through the door and saw that she was in the kitchen. More specifically she was about a foot above the kitchen floor… with nothing below her.
Applejack slowly turned her head to the left and saw the Rat standing on the kitchen counter with its hind legs waving at her with a grin.
“Buck yaaaAAAA-‘THUD’” Applejack managed to get out before gravity caught up with her and she plummeted to the floor.
Applejack lay there with the wind knocked out of her as she sent the Rat a glare that could chew through steel before the Rat chuckled at her then frowned. The Rat stared at her for a moment before taking the stetson of its head and tossed it down to her before quickly darted back through the patch of wallpaper that had folded open to act as a door. Only a few moments later did a Big Macintosh come trotting into the room before stopping at the site of his shrunken sister splayed out on the floor.
The stallion paused for a moment before shaking his head as he went up to Applejack. “Rough morn’in AJ?”
“Let me put it this way, waking up shrunk was the second strangest thang to happen to me today.” Applejack said as she hoisted herself up and picked up the stetson sitting by her.
