A Story From Canterlot
Chapter 1
Load Full StoryPonyville. A tiny town in Equestria where the Elements of Harmony lives. There aren't a lot of ponies live in Ponyville, so it was normal that there aren't any big buildings there. Except the mayor's office which is located at the center of the town. And one big mansion whose owner was Filthy Rich, one of the most success business pony in Equestria. He lived with his daughter, Diamond Tiara and had lived there since she was a filly. But most of the time, Filthy is out, working. So Diamond took care of the mansion with the butlers and maids.
Years passed by and technology is getting better in Equestria. There have been new inventions like computers, phones, televisions, video games, and many more. A lot of ponies had purchased the latest technology for their needs. Colts and some fillies buy video games to play on their free time. Mares and stallions buy computers and cell phones for their work or to communicate with others.
As years passed by, ponies are getting older. Mares and stallions that were only dating, now married and have babies now. Fillies and colts have become mares and stallions.
Diamond is eighteen years old now. She's a mare now. And so were the other fillies and colts that were in Miss Cheerilee's class. They've done their times in school, so they're ready to go to college. But not all ponies want to go to college.
However, Diamond Tiara wanted to go to college. Because she always enjoys studying. She never knew why she likes it in the first place. But it didn't really matter to her.
She wants to go to college in Canterlot of course, like she always dream about. With her best friend Silver Spoon. She had been dreaming going to Canterlot since she was a filly. Whether for studying, living, or even both. And she wanted to join the people with "class" there. She always thought that Canterlot is a beautiful city. No, most beautiful city in Equestria she said. And the city of dreams.
It was morning in Ponyville, Celetia's sun was shining the town. There were no clouds in the sky. The weather ponies cleaned all the clouds to make it sunny. Although it was sunny, the town wasn't that hot because there was a gentle breeze, taking away most of the heat.
Diamond woke up from her bed and stared at her calendar, which was next to her bed on a desk, to see what day was it. "Sunday," she thought. She stared at it blankly for a few minutes. It took another few minutes until she realized what she was going to do for the day. She jumped with excitement from her bed and went straight to the bathroom. She had waited this day to come, and it did come after all.
After filling the tub with warm water, she dived herself in. She sat in the tub, cleaning herself within her own bathroom, a pink room with picture of angel that was made from tiles, at the top of the room. Near the tub were lots of expensive shampoo and soaps from Canterlot. Even the pink towel she had was expensive and was from Canterlot.
After 15 minutes of bath, she got out from the bathroom and stared at the clock.
"8 o'clock," she thought as her stomach groaned. "Gonna tell the chefs to make breakfast. Can't talk with an empty stomach." She said to herself and went downstairs to the kitchen.
Filthy had woken up two hours earlier before her daughter woke up. He always woke up early because of his business. But before he goes to work, he always say goodbye to his daughter.
"Sunday" he thought. Schedules were buzzing in his mind. He had to meet somepony, made a deal, meet other ponies, and so many more. Every day he did his hard work and always feel tired every time he did it. But he ignore the feelings and do what he can for his daughter to be happy.
"Daddy! Breakfast is ready!" Diamond yelled, taking a sit on the dining table. As she waited for her father, she had been thinking about the talk she will have to her dad. She just couldn't shook her mind off of it. She's too excited at this.
"Coming!" He replied.
As her dad walked in to the dining room, she began to calm herself down, not to embarrass herself in front of him because of excitement. And to act as a grown up mare.
"Morning, Diamond," he greeted as he took a sit across the chair Diamond was sitting.
"Morning, Dad," she greeted with a loving smile.
After he sat, they began to eat their breakfast that the chef had prepared. The maids prepared the drink after they began eating. Ten minutes passed, they finished their breakfast and began to talk.
"So, Diamond." Her father called. "Do you want to go to college?"
"YES!" She screamed with happiness and jumped from her chair. She blushed after realizing what she was doing in front of him and immediately sat down. "Yes, dad," she said, this time she didn't scream.
Filthy just smiled at her reaction and said, "Where do you want to-"
"Canterlot!" Diamond screamed, cutting her dad's question. She realized that she had screamed again and sunk her head down. She screwed it up by being too excited.
At this moment, Filthy's smile disappeared from his face. Like he just saw a ghost.
"Canterlot? Why Canterlot?" He thought and asked what he had thought to Diamond.
"Why Canterlot? Daddy, I've always dream to live there. It has lots of things that Ponyville doesn't have! Like jewelry, fancy food, high-tech technology, fancy dresses, and... lots of stuff that I want! It's the most beautiful city in Equestria! And I will live there forever!" Diamond stated in quick pace like Pinkie Pie does when she talks. Diamond smiled widely at her dad.
Filthy just sat there, processing her sentence, word by word. He was confused at his daughter that she really wanted to go to Canterlot.
"Canterlot, most beautiful city in Equestria." he thought. Over and over. He still can't believe that the most beautiful city in Equestria is Canterlot in her daughter's eyes.
There was silence between the daughter and her father. After a few minutes of silence, Diamond spoke up, "Dad? Are you okay?"
Filthy's mind snapped back to reality. "What?" He said, a bit confused what she had said.
"Are you okay, Dad? You looked a bit sad back there as if something was wrong." She asked, her smile disappearing slowly.
"I'm fine. I was thinking of something else, Diamond. Sorry about that," he replied. "So, you want to go to Canterlot for your college?"
"Yes," Diamond said with a soft tone.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes!" She said with full confidence.
Filthy sighed at this moment. Diamond was so happy about this and he didn't want to ruin Diamond's happiness by telling her the truth about Canterlot. Sure Canterlot is a big city and has the things Ponyville doesn't have. The city was indeed the city of dreams for everypony. But for him, the city was a dangerous place. Most of the city is filled with corrupted ponies. Rapist, murderer, thieves, gangsters, you name it. That was only the past Canterlot. Now it's gotten a lot worse. He couldn't imagine what will happen to Diamond if she's there. He would never forgive himself if something happened to her.
When he first heard that she wanted to live in Canterlot, he thought she was only joking. Until now.
It hurts that he has to tell her, but he has no choice. It's for her own safety.
"Diamond Tiara. Come to my room. We’ll continue to talk about your college there," He said as he stood up from his chair and went to his room.
Diamond was surprised that her Dad used her full name. He never called her full name unless there's something very serious to talk about. Gulped, Diamond stood up from her chair and walked to his room.
