High up in the sky, the sun was gazing down at the lands of Equestria, all its mountains, rivers and meadows shined like gold in all the bright colors the world could give. Ponyville as well experienced this most pure and beautiful day and lived their lives in total peace and harmony. For just a couple of days ago, Queen Chrysalis and her Changelings had invaded Canterlot and taken fully control of the castle. But their power didn't last long and all of them had vanished, Chrysalis hadn't been seen for days and had most likely crawled back to the hole she came from with her minions. Even today the damaged she had caused could be seen at its places, but slowly and surly, everything healed over time. Ponyville however didn’t suffer to much during that time and everyone living there, have already returned back to their old lives. It was as any other day for Ponyville with all its usual, small activities happening in the town now when all the danger from the Changeling Queen and her Changelings were completely gone. Or was that the case?
Far away from Ponyville along the outskirt of a forest, hidden from the sun and deep into the bushes with the shadows. A single Changeling sat and observed Ponyville from afar, it was a she, but her intention may all through have been a bit misunderstanding. She was young and harmless and maybe even a bit naive, she stared into the distance towards Ponyville and sighed in her complete loneliness. The fact was that, she didn't want to be a Changeling, she hated the thought of stealing others love, but she was simply born as a Changeling and had no power over who she was. She thought that ponies were beautiful, they were so clean and soft in their appearance. She looked at the same time down at herself and stared on her legs that were crooked, filled with holes and the crude surface of dried wood. A small pool of water in the mud next to her notice she then and decided to walk over to it. Hopping she would see something different this time as she looked down, she only once again sighed out in extreme disappointment. She saw of course immediately her own face in the reflection of the water and felt revolted.
Her eyes were in an empty bright blue color without a pupil, having barely any expression in them. The sturdy unattractive horn that stood out from her forehead, were in a gloomy stone black color just as the rest of her body. She looked so dark she thought as she angled her head, left and right to see if she couldn't find a way to look at herself without being disgusted. Many times she had imagined herself with a mane that bloom in the light and skin soft as a pegasus feathers, but every time she had watched over her shoulder towards her tail, that fantasy already got itself extinct. Her back had this beetle looking shell on it that protected her wings, wings that rustle when in use and the similarity of a low life insect. Downhearted all the way to the soul, she asked herself in her mind why she had to be born like this. She was about to ask it openly in a whispering tone, but she stopped herself from doing so as she remember how her voice only sounded like two corrupted voices, with a short delay between them. She then shoved a front hoof right into the water and walked right through it in the opposite direction as Ponyville.
She exited the small forest she was in on the other side and was now wandering over a meadow. It was a steep hill to her right as she was walking along its bottom and to her left, she had this huge field with nothing else than green grass and yellow flowers, as far as the eye could see. Once again, she sighed out as she didn't know what to do, she sat down and faced the enormous field to her left and just watched the view.
It was warm and fragile to behold, something she was far from being herself. She held a dead facial expression and was just about to leave for home. She thought she had linger already too long in these unfamiliar lands and how it most likely would be best for her to return back to Chrysalis. But it was then how she heard something, something that was getting louder and that she had no idea of what it was. Calmly she stood up and started to listened, but a second later she heard a voice coming from behind, yelling.
“Watch ooooout!”
The female Changeling looked back over her shoulder at the hill behind her with haste. She didn't really see anything, but felt immediately something hitting her hard, making her follow whatever had hit her in its direction by rolling out to the field while giving away a small shriek. The pony must have fallen from the top of the hill and then rolled all the way down before landing right on her. While stumbling over her words by being ten times dizzier than the Changeling, she asked with a close to drunk sounding voice.

The Changeling didn't dare to reply as she thought her voice would give her away, but she neither didn't focused too much on any other than what she saw and had right in front of her. The pony with a rather bright gray color and with appealing blond hair in front of her, had her entire private area, visible for the Changeling to see. Her eyes doubled in size and her jaw dropped to the ground.
The pony was still not moving and without knowing it, the female Changeling moved closer. She crawled forward with the appearance of being in trance and stopped her head, ridiculous close behind the pony. She stared extremely rudely but didn't care, the smell she felt from the pony's lower assets were too much to resist.
The gray pony's lower lips were so solid and fresh in its look and the Changeling could almost not stand a second longer without tasting the pink flesh she knew was hiding under there. Shaking like a leaf in a tornado and feel how herself got a funny, tingling feeling between her legs. As the pony turned around, she saw a perfect healthy, different pony in a odd and extremely dark color with a hint of blue, with a mane that was slightly darker than her body. The Changeling had made up something just by pure imagination and what she could tell, it worked. It did however drain a great amount of strength from her body, but for now it wasn't a problem. The gray pony was now standing and got a friendly face as she saw everything being well and happily said.
“Hi... I thought at first you were a small filly by the cute way you sounded when I hit you... but I'm glad to see that you're unharmed”
“The way I sounded... you watch your little mouth you... I mean... really?”
The female Changeling said rather rude and aggressive, but changed her tone quickly to a more soft and carefully choose her words. Luckily, the gray pony didn't seem to notice that and just continued to smile and added with angling her head slightly.
“I also were a bit worried at first that you were a Changeling... but it must have been your dark colors who got me thinking that... I mean a Changling... that's just silly... everypony knows that all of them are gone!”
Like a statue, the Changeling froze in place and stared deep into the pony's eyes in front of her.
“Me... a Changeling... well... that's... that's kind of funny right... right?
The Changeling said awkwardly with a fake smile while laughing between her words, feeling the sweat pouring down her head.
“I'm Derpy... what's your name?”
The gray pony introduced herself cheerful and gave away an even bigger smile, while waiting for an answer from what she thought were a totally normal pony.
“M-m-my name?”
The Changeling stuttered nervously and got straightaway Derpy in her face, continuing to ask and putting pressure on the Changeling.
“You do have a name right?”
“Well... of course I have a name... I mean... everypony has a name so... of course... I also have one!”
She reply once again really awkwardly and unsure as Changelings didn't have names, but though this particularly pony didn't seem to bright, so saw she through her lie and added chocked.
“You don't have a name?!”
The female Changeling opened her mouth and was just about to throw out another lie with haste, but when she saw those innocent and friendly eyes of Derpy, so couldn't she and why, she didn't know. She lowered her head and sighed as she wished she were a pony, a pony as beautiful as Derpy and with a own name.
“N-no... I don't have one.”
She let the truth pass her tongue and expected her identity to be blown in matter of seconds, but instead of getting a suspicious reaction from Derpy. Derpy instead lost her smile as she thought bad for the one she saw as a nameless pony in front of her.
“Is it... okay if I call you... Iri then?”
The Changeling looked up surprised at Derpy and just stayed quiet for a short while before asking confused.
“Iri... where did you get that from?”
“From the funny way you sounded when I fell on you... it sounded exactly like it!”
Derpy added quickly with her smile back on her face. The Changeling thought at what she had heard and whispered out with a slowly growing, pleased facial expression, repeating what sounded like a actually name.

They both then looked at each other and just smiled together happily. Iri don't know why, but looking at Derpy made her feel so relaxed, so warm. She couldn't explain the feeling and just stuck to continue staring at her with a loving gaze, while imaging all kind of strange things in her mind.
But with time, the silent grew longer and Derpy found Iri to act a bit strange, so she decided to leave her alone and lightly added before taking off towards the meadow.
