//-------------------------------------------------------// The Animal Within -by RaChimera- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The New Student (e) //-------------------------------------------------------// The New Student (e) All he could remember was running. Running through a dark forest with his parents. Running from a giant figure that was hunting them as they tried to make it back to the truck. They finally saw some lights up ahead and he breathed a sigh of relief before he heard his mom scream his name. He turned around and all he saw at that moment was darkness. His dad grabbed his arm and the two began to run as hard as they could away from the predator that was chasing them. As the light grew brighter and brighter, a sharp pain struck his ankle. The beast had him in his jaws and began to drag him back into the forest. Knowing that his life was over, he looked at his predator. But all that he could see of the animal through the mess of oily black fur was the glowing, blood red eyes that glared daggers at him. He closed his eyes, hoping that this thing would finish him off. As the monstrous being dragged him into the middle of the forest, he watched as the monster dropped his ankle and then go for his throat with its razor-like fangs, making him release a powerful scream as the beast let out a bloodcurdling roar. Lykos woke up screaming his head off as he thrashed around in his bed while covered in cold sweat. He looked around though and noticed that he was just in his bed and not in the woods anymore. Lykos sighed as he looked down and noticed how his bed appeared to be nearly torn apart as he crawled back into it. As he curled back up, however, he also let out a small whimper…. like something a dog would do if they were scared. But before he closed his eyes once more, the door to his room opened and in came his mother, Crea. Crea had a light skin with brown, flowing hair. Her eyes were a unique tone of light blue and she wore her pajamas which were a grey tank top and black pajama pants with white paw prints of a dog on them. She was a zoologist and recently moved to Equestria City with her family for a job transfer here. She was assigned the wolf exhibit. “Morning Lykos.” She said in her sweet and calming voice as she sat on her son’s bed. “It’s morning already Mom?” He asked her which elicited a small chuckle from Crea. “Yes honey it is. Now don’t be such a sour puss or you’ll miss your first day of school.” She said to her still drowsy son getting a groan from him. “Alright. I’ll be down in a minute.” He said as his mother got off of his bed. “If you don’t, I’ll bring in the secret weapon.” She said making his eyes widen and making her giggle as she left his room. Removing the sheets off of him, he rose from his bed in nothing but a pair of boxers. Shuffling, he made it to his dresser that had a large mirror attached to it. He looked into it and saw his reflection. He saw his arctic white skin and his shadow black hair that was tipped on the ends with muddy brown. His eyes were a tone of brown and his body was well chiseled with barely any fat hanging on it. I’ve changed so much since then. I guess it’s time I move on. He thought as he opened the drawers to his dresser revealing his wardrobe sized collection of clothes. “Let’s see. How about…” He said as he tried to pick out some clothes to wear. After a minute, he found his favorite hoody which was black with white stripes down the arms and a pair of black jeans. After slipping them on along with his belt with a wolf’s head buckle, he went out the door of his room and downstairs to where his family were eating breakfast. His father, Steel Wrench, was sitting down eating a plate of eggs and bacon while his mom was eating a simple breakfast sandwich, two English muffins filled with eggs and sausages, and there in the center of the table was his own meal. He drooled a little as he stared at the rare steak, still dripping blood as he heard it call his name. “Is that how you wanted it sweetie?” His mother asked him as he sat down at the table and grabbed a fork and knife. “Yeah. Thanks mom.” He said as he cut a small piece of the meat from the larger piece and began to eat it. “So sport, ready for your first day?” He dad asked him. “Yeah. I guess.” He said as he took another bite of his steak. “Don’t worry. You’ll do good here. And speaking of doing good, I’d better get going before the boss has me.” Steel said as he got up from his chair. The man rubbed his son’s head and kissed his wife before leaving out the door of their house. But before the mother and son could go back to eating, the sound of a crying infant was heard. “Hon little Sky is having one of her fits again.” Steel said. Crea nodded and hurried up stairs. She walked in to see that Silver Sky was crying again. Acting quickly she picked up the infant and started to cradle it in her arms. Meanwhile, Lykos finished up his steak and placed the dish in the sink. “I’m heading out mom! I’ll see you after school!” He said as he grabbed his backpack and placed his shoes on. “Alright!” He heard her yell back. He then went through the door of his house and saw his dad open the door to his car. “C’mon. I’ll give you a ride.” Steel said with a smile. Lykos took the offer and hopped in. The man then pulled out of his driveway and began to drive. As they sat in the vehicle, the two talked. “Have a good sleep Ly?” His dad asked him. He knew the answer the moment his son gave out a sigh. “Not really dad. I had that nightmare again.” Lykos said. Steel just nodded as he didn’t ask anymore questions. The nightmare always was a very sore subject with his son and he didn’t want to pry anything out of him if he didn’t feel like sharing any. “I-I think I’m starting to see that creature a little bit better though. All I got this time though was oily black fur and red eyes. Sound like any animal you heard of dad?” His son asked him. “No. I still can’t believe that we made it out of that. Especially you, considering your condition that you were in.” Steel said. “Yeah. Can we stop this conversation before it escalates?” Lykos asked making his dad nod his head. “On another topic, how do you think this school will be for you Ly?” His dad asked with a small grin. “I don’t know honestly. I mean, I’m excited but yet it feels like I’m going to faint.” Lykos replied making his dad chuckle. “Then you’re nervous-cited.” Steel said with a smile. Lykos rolled his eyes but couldn’t help but smile as well. They soon arrived at Canterlot High and were blown away by how incredible the school looked. “Alright. Remember, your mom needs you to watch Silver when you get home. She’s going to be at the wolf exhibit a little longer than she used to.” Steel said. “Alright. I’ll see you later dad.” Lykos said as he got out. Lykos watched as his father drove away and then began to walk towards the doors of the great school. But before he could even touch on of them, a massive pain drove through his skull making his gnash his teeth as he held his head. Damn headaches! He thought in a pained voice. After a minute, the pain went away and he continued. He went through the doors and instantly saw the principal’s office. He headed towards the door and read the name “Principal Celestia”. Opening the door, he saw a woman who wore a yellow coat and had a light skin tone. Her hair though was three different colors. “Why hello there. Are you the new student we were expecting today?” She asked him politely. Lykos nodded as he sat down on one of the chairs. He noticed that the principal seemed to be studying him and he had an unnerving feeling that she was looking a little bit too deep into his soul. “Um… is there something weird about me?” He asked making her break her gaze on him. “M-My apologies. I’ve learned to study a student is like by what he or she wears.  But you.. you’re unlike any of the others Mister…” She said. “Lykos. It’s Lykos Principal Celestia.” He said. “Lykos. Very unique.” She said with a smile. “Thanks. It’s Greek for ‘Wolf’.” He said back. Celestia then looked directly into his eyes with her light purple eyes. “Interesting. Mr. Lykos, as much as I would like to give you a tour of the school, I have too much paperwork to do. But I think I know someone who’d give you the tour. Look for a girl named Rarity Belle and tell her I sent you. Also take this. It’s a class schedule.” She said as she passed him a folded piece of paper. Lykos nodded and headed out of the room. He passed by some students but ran across one that seemed to be trying to be cool but didn’t realize he was failing at it. The boy walked up to him with a smug expression on his face. Lykos had been through enough schools to know when someone was trouble and this guy had it written all over him. “Hey there new kid how you doing?” The boy asked him. Lykos was a little bit taken back by how high pitched his voice sounded and figured he must secretly be gay. “Good.. thanks.” He said back. “The name’s Blueblood. And welcome to Canterlot High!” Blueblood said as he stuck out his hand which Lykos shook. “It’s nice to meet you. Now, I’d better get going. I’ve gotta find someone.” Lykos said as he started to walk away. “Who is it?! If it’s a girl then I’m the man to find her!” Blueblood said boldly. Lykos was starting to like Blueblood less and less each time he opened his mouth. “Thanks but I think I can find her on my-” “AH don’t worry yourself about it! I know every girls in this school front to back!” Blueblood said a little too excitedly. Yeah and how many hearts did you tear to kingdom come you ass. Lykos thought to himself. “Blueblood I can find her. If I need any help I’ll come to you.”  Lykos said as he continued to walk away. “Alright. Goodbye!” Blueblood said as he himself walked away. I’ll stick myself with a stake before asking him for help. Lykos thought as he looked around for a ‘Rarity Belle’. He then saw a girl that had white skin and purple hair that curled down at her shoulder. He didn’t know what popped out first his heart or his eyes as he admired the girl’s beauty. As he was trying to figure that out he failed to notice the girl walking towards him in a very elegant manner. “Hello? Is anyone home?” The girl asked Lykos who snapped back to reality. “Oh. Um… you wouldn’t happen to know where I can find someone named Rarity Belle could you?” He asked. “Well it just so happens that you are speaking to her. What is the pleasure I can help you with darling?” Rarity asked in a light British voice. “Well.. Principal Celestia told me to find you and tell you that you need to show me around Canterlot High. I’m Lykos by the way.” He said as he held out his hand. Rarity smiled and took his hand in return. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Professor Of Chaos //-------------------------------------------------------// The Professor Of Chaos “So what brings you to Canterlot High then Lykos?” Rarity asked him which caused the poor guy to blush a little. “Well me and my parents move around a lot and we figure that since we are settling down I might as well go to school as well.” Lykos said as he scratched the back of his head. “It’s nothing to be embarrassed about. I know tons of people who have moved around many times until coming here.” Rarity said as she tried to comfort him. “So… where’s the next part of the tour?” The teen asked her. “Well.. you wouldn’t happen to have a class schedule would you?” She asked back. Lykos then remembered the piece of paper in his pocket and pulled it out. “Alright. I have History with a Professor Discord-” “More like Professor Mental Issues. The man is insane.” Rarity interrupted. “Science and Chemistry with a Miss… Zekara?-” “Mrs. Zecora you mean. She’s a weird but very nice teacher.” Rarity explained. “P.E with a Coach Sombra, sounds like a tough man, and Math with a Professor Time Turner.” He finished. “He prefers for us to call him “The Doctor”. Just a heads up.” Rarity said to him. Lykos nodded in response. He was about to leave when he noticed the schedule in her hands. “Hey…. can I see your schedule?” He asked her. Rarity nodded and took it out for him to look at it. His eyes widened as he saw that her schedule matched his in everything…. except for gym. “And you were going to tell me this when?” He asked in an amused tone causing Rarity to chuckle. “Well I was going to surprise you a little but oh well.” She said. Lykos shook his head in amusement. This was one crazy girl. “So where’s Professor Discord’s class?” Lykos asked. “Follow me.” She simply said as she began to walk away. “Haven’t I been doing that for a-” “Don’t you dare finish that sentence.” She interrupted. “Sorry.” He said. As the two continued to walk, a small spiking pain in Lykos’ head arrived, making stop for a bit as he rubbed his head, hoping the pain would stop. Rarity, who was still walking, turned her head and noticed him. Worried a little, she walked back towards him. “Lykos, are you alright?” She asked in a worried voice. “Y-Yeah. Come on, let’s get moving.” He replied as he shook his head side to side before continuing to walk. They soon arrived in what could only be described as nothing but…. pure chaos. Paper airplanes soared around the room, teens in groups speaking with each other, and rubber band hornets zooming around. Lykos couldn’t believe what he was watching. But was really weird was the teacher. The teacher was a slim man with a white goatee and black eyebrows. He had shaggy white hair and seemed to have yellow eyes with red pupils. His clothes were even more weird. A sewing mess of mix and matched clothes. Lykos didn’t know whether it was just how weird he was or how epic his classroom seemed but somehow he felt that this class was going to be one of his personal favorites. “Now now class do settle down now! We can all have a little fun later!” The strange teacher said in a loud voice. Lykos was taken back by how obedient the whole class reacted with that one simple command and how quiet it got. The teacher then snapped his head towards him and Rarity. “Aw Miss Rarity. It seems like you’re 10 minutes late.” He said. “My apologies Professor Discord. But Principal Celestia assigned me to show the new student around.” She said as she pointed towards him. Then suddenly, the teacher climbed from his chair and walked up to the teen. “A new student? It’s been a long while since I’ve had a new student in my classroom. Tell me my boy, what’s your name?” He asked as he stared into his eyes. “L-Lykos sir. My name is Lykos.” The teen replied as he swallowed a lump in his throat. “Interesting name. Coming from the Greek word for ‘Wolf’. Well it’s nice to meet you Lykos. I am Professor Discord. Your new history teacher.” He said as he stuck out his hand. Lykos reached out to shake it but as soon as their hands made contact, a small jolt of electricity went through Lykos. “First rule of my class Lykos! Never trust what you see!” Discord said as he showed his open hand to reveal a joy buzzer underneath. Normally Lykos would be mad or even outright furious but something about the teacher made it impossible for that to happen. “Mister Lykos, if you will, please stay up here. Miss Rarity you can head to your seat.” He said, making the girl head over to an empty desk and sit in it. “Alright class, we’ve got a new student this year. Please remain calm and listen.” He said. Lykos couldn’t believe as the kids did as he said. “Go ahead young man, introduce yourself.” Discord said. Swallowing a hard lump in his throat, Lykos began to speak. “Hello. My name is Lykos. I recently moved here with my mom, my dad, and my little sister.” He said. A resounding “aaawwww!” was heard from many of the girls in the room as he blushed a little at this. Discord merely smiled and started to clap…. only to get zapped by his own joy buzzer. Never the less he still clapped though he got a little shock from it every time though. He took the buzzer off as he walked back to his own work place and placed it in a drawer. Lykos then made it to an empty desk and sat in it, placing his backpack on the seat. “Alright class, today we’re going to be talking about Lycaon.” Discord said, making a certain teen’s eyes grow a little. Lycaon. Now this is going to be fun. Lykos thought with a small grin on his face. “Now first of all…. who can tell me just where this lovely little tale originated from….. except Twilight Sparkle.” He said the moment a lavender colored teen shot her hand up. She lowered it down as her cheeks flushed red a little. Lykos shot his hand up and Discord picked him. “The story originated in Ancient Greece didn’t Professor?” Lykos asked him. Discord smiled as he nodded his head in satisfaction. “Well I shouldn’t be surprised by the boy who’s named after his sacred animal. Yes Lycaon’s story did originate in Greece in it’s infancy. But now who can tell me just what happens in this story?” Discord said and he was shocked when Fluttershy then slowly but surely stuck her hand up to answer. “Um…. Lycaon w-was a king in a Greek city and w-worshipped their gods. O-one day Zeus came down but he didn’t b-believe it was Zeus so i-in order to t-test him he-” Fluttershy gulped “-he fed Zeus cooked human flesh. The g-god was enraged so h-he had his s-sons s-struck down and t-turn Lycaon into a hybrid. The first Werewolf….. i-is that right Professor?” She asked as her teacher looked at her with his eyes widened and his jaw dropped. “That’s… correct Fluttershy. Very correct.” He said in a surprised voice. Everybody but Lykos stared at her in shock that she answered. What’s wrong with them? It’s just a student answering a question. It’s not like she’s a quiet person or anything. Lykos thought in an irritated voice. “Students, if you will, please team up with a partner if you can. I have a team assignment I’d like for you to do.” He said making the students get up from their seats and get into pairs. As Lykos looked for someone, he saw Rarity who looked like she needed a partner. As he headed over to her, he was passed by a familiar kid named Blueblood who quickly sat in the seat next to her. Horndog. Lykos thought as he snorted. He turned and sat next to a lavender girl and  Fluttershy, if he remembered right then the lavender one was called Twilight Sparkle. He smiled as he shook Twilight’s hand. “So you needed a partner right?” Twilight asked. “Yeah. I was going to work with Rarity, but someone beat me to it.” He said as he stared at Blueblood. “B-Blueblood is a pervert. I o-once caught him peeping in the girls locker room.” Fluttershy seemed to have whispered. “Did he get in trouble?” He asked her. “Our friend, Rainbow Dash, whipped him with a wet towel right in his pride.” Twilight said making him giggle. “Ouch.” Was all Lykos said. He sat down as Discord handed out the papers…. while riding his chair like a chariot. When Lykos got his paper he looked down and, once more, smiled as he saw that it was a paper on Lycaon and other legends of Werewolves but what made him confused was the fact that Discord’s paper made it seem like they could be real. What’s this Discord hiding? //-------------------------------------------------------// P.E. //-------------------------------------------------------// P.E. Today was turning out to be a pretty weird but yet awesome day. For not only did Lykos make some new friends, but he’s got some pretty awesome teachers such as Professor Discord. But now that the first few periods were done with, it was now time for the most hardest special in school. Physical Education with Coach Sombra. Lykos raised an eyebrow at the sight of so many of the students seemingly to dread, no it looked more like…. was that fear? The moment he walked through the doors to the gym Lykos instantly felt a cold sensation course through his body. The last time he felt this was when he met the wild animal that bit him. Before he could continue this train of thought he heard the sound of a basketball hitting the wood plank. He looked up and an instant shiver crawled down his spine at the sight of his teacher. The man had ash grey skin that was covering a well muscled body. His eyes were a bright green that seemed to give off a glow. His hair was black as tar and seemed to be hazy like shadows. In the man’s mouth were fangs. Not sharpened teeth. Literal fangs like a predator. Lykos gulped for a moment as he realized as he saw exactly why the other students feared this guy. He was a freaking beast built up from head to toe in muscles and he looked like he didn’t take any crap, even Blueblood seemed scared of him but that was fine with Lykos and even caused him to giggle a little. He shouldn’t have done that as Coach Sombra’s head turned in his general direction and seemed to have growled. “Now who are you?” Sombra asked in a voice that was a deep baritone and a little raspy as he walked over to the teenager, making the other students around him move a few meters away. “Lykos sir.” He replied. “Well Lykos, let me give you a few rules. Rule one, I do not allow laughing, chuckling, or even giggling in my gym. Rule two, you will not disobey my orders when I give you them. Rule three, remember rules one and two. Is that clear?” Sombra demanded from Lykos, glaring down at him the whole time, but Lykos wasn’t scared or frightened. No what he felt was stubbornness as he stared back at Sombra. “Yes.” Lykos replied. Sombra leaned over again. “Yes…. what?” Sombra asked from him. “Yes…. sir.” Lykos said to the gym teacher who smirked at him. Guess that’s the closest I’ll get to a smile from him. He thought. “Alright class, today, I want you to get your legs ready, for we’re going to have a little game of… dodgeball.” Sombra said making a few teens gasp but Lykos saw a smile on a rainbow haired girl’s face. “We’ll split the class into two teams. Boys versus the girls. Now, get ready!” He said in a booming voice, making the students get into the opposite sides of the gym. Lykos ran over to where the boys were and saw that most of them had a stoic look on their faces in place of the looks of pure fear from earlier. “READY!” Sombra yelled before he blew the whistle. Suddenly both teams ran up to the line of rubber red balls that lied on the white line in the center of the gym. They grabbed the balls and began tossing them at each other. Lykos thought he was watching a war between the teams went down. But as he watched, he couldn’t help but continue to stare at Sombra. Something about him was… familiar. Lykos didn’t know how, but there was something that him and his teacher had in common. Before he had time to register what it was, he felt something zoom by him. He looked and saw the Rainbow haired girl from earlier smiling at him and realized that he narrowly avoided a dodgeball to the face. What the hell? Why am I her target?! He yelled in his thoughts as he watched the girl grab another ball. “THINK FAST!” He heard her scream in a tomboyish voice as she threw the ball directly at him. But then, he quickly grabbed the ball with one hand, did a full 360 spin, and tossed it right back at her. Sombra’s eyes widened in surprise as the ball zoomed back towards the girl and hit her in the stomach, knocking her on her butt. Lykos panted a little as he saw that the girl was staring at him in shock. “Oh…. my…. gosh. That was awesome!” She shouted which made Lykos drop his jaw in pure shock as he stared towards the girl as she got back up and sat down on the out line with a smile on her face. Why would she- He started until he felt something ping off his shoulder. He looked and saw that a tan girl with blonde hair tied off into a ponytail just tossed a ball at him. Sighing, he then moved over to the outline next to the rainbow haired girl. “Hey, you’ve got a pretty nice swinging arm there.” She said to him. “Thanks. I’m Lykos by the way.” He said as he stuck out his arm. “Rainbow Dash. It’s nice to meet you Lykos.” She said back as she shook his hand. “So Rainbow, why were you happy when I got you out?” He asked as he scratched the back of his head. “Eh it’s been a while since someone was able to get me out. The last one to do that was my brother and he’s already graduated and moved.” Rainbow said like it was a casual everyday conversation. “Well I’m glad I made you happy. So what’s up with Sombra?” He asked as he stared at the man who kept a keen eye on the game. “No one knows. They say he was born in the wilderness and raised by animals. That’s why he’s so muscular.” Rainbow whispered. “Some rumor. So who was the one who tagged me?” He asked her pointing towards the tan girl. “That’s Applejack. She’s really cool  but don’t get of her bad side because she will get even like the time she got payback on Suri.” Rainbow told him. Lykos raised an eyebrow but saw a light pink skinned girl with purple fancy hair. As she strolled across from him he noticed that she was keen on making sure that she was as far away from Applejack. But ultimately his attention went back to Coach Sombra who just seemed to snarl at him. “Seems like he really likes you Lykos.” Rainbow sarcastically said with a grin. “Very funny. So when’s this class over?” He asked. “Until 2:15. So we’ve still got a bit before we get to The Doctor’s class.” She replied as she crossed her legs. “So while we’ve got time, why don’t you tell me more about yourself?” She asked. Lykos took a deep breath as he started his story again. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Vice Principal and Getting Home //-------------------------------------------------------// The Vice Principal and Getting Home Rainbow just stared at him as Lykos finished his story about his encounter with the wild beast. She knew this guy was tough but to take on a full grown wild animal? This dude was a whole new level of awesome. “So then after the attack, we moved here where it’s less likely for that to happen again. I still wonder what animal that was because it was like nothing I’ve ever seen.” He said to her. “Really? What did it look like?” She asked him. He took in a deep breath before answering. “About… 5-6ft tall at the shoulder, looked around 200 pounds, oily black fur, glowing red eyes, and the head of… like a dog or a wolf.” Rainbow’s eyes just widened at the description he gave her. Before she could ask any more questions, the bell rang which signaled the end of the class. “Sorry but I’m gotta go to my next class now. Maybe I’ll see you around some time Rainbow.” He said as he exited the gym. As he tried to walk down the crowded hallway, he felt a gentle hand touch his shoulder, causing him to jump a bit. Turning his head slowly, he saw a woman with deep blue skin and flowing light blue hair. Her eyes were a light ocean blue. She was wearing a dark blue jacket with black outlining and a pair of dark blue jeans. “Sorry if I startled you, but you wouldn’t happen to be Lykos now would you?” The woman asked in a calm voice. Lykos blinked a few times before he nodded. “I’m Vice Principal Luna. Not only am I the Vice Principal but also the guidance counselor. I was wondering if you could spare a few moments to talk about yourself?” She asked him. “Um…. sure.” He replied. “Excellent. Please come with me to my office.” She said as she began to walk back through the hallway, Lykos quickly began to follow. After a minute of bumping into students, he finally made it with her to her office. As soon as she opened the door, he noticed that the room was dark, a lava lamp lighting the whole room. Whoa. Creepy a bit, but I like it. Lykos thought as he watched the woman that was his Vice Principal walk to her chair and sit in it. “Now then Lykos please sit.” She beckoned to a empty chair that was in front of her desk. Lykos shrugged and sat down in it as the questions started to flow. “What did you do before you came to Canterlot High Lykos?” She asked. “I was homeschooled.” He replied. “Do both of your parents have a career?” “My dad’s a mechanic and my mom’s a zoologist.” “Where do you live now?” “314 Midmoon Avenue.” “What are your parents names?” “Crea and Steel Wrench.” “What color is the lava lamp?” “What?” “I’m asking the questions. Now again what is the color of the lava lamp?” “Um….. blue?” “Good. That will be all for now Lykos. I shall give you a note allowing you a free pass for your class so you won’t be tardy.” Luna told him as she gave him a note that she had scribbled on. She passed it to him and he grabbed it. “But before you go, I have one more question.” She said. “What’s your favorite video game?” She asked. “Changelings V.S Soldiers.” He said as he left the room. He thought he heard Luna make a remark that suspiciously like “good choice” before he left. He then hurried down to Doctor Whooves room and made it just in time as he was just finishing roll. “Ah a fresh brain for us to dissect.” The teacher said which made Lykos drop his jaw. “I’m joking my lad. I am Doctor Whooves, your new math professor. Might I ask for your name good sir?” The man asked in a British voice. “Lykos. I-It’s Lykos.” He stuttered as he shook the professor’s hand. “Ah. It’s nice to meet you my good man. Now, please go ahead and take a seat.” Whooves said as he patted the student on his back. Lykos saw that nearly all the seats were taken except for one next to the lavender girl he met in his first class. He widened his eyes as she smiled and pulled up the chair next to her. Shrugging his shoulders he sat right next to her. He then turned his head and saw a light blue girl with white hair and a pale yellow skinned girl with yellow and red hair next to him. Oh boy. Now this is going to make for an interesting class. Lykos thought as he stared at both of the girls. An hour had passed and finally, the last bell of the school day had rang, signaling freedom. As Lykos watched the rest of the class leave before him, he noticed the two girls he met in the beginning of class, who were named Trixie Lulamoon and Sunset Shimmer, were giving him a wicked glare for some reason. He shrugged but never realized that they both had placed a ‘kick me’ sign on his back. Twilight noticed this and tore it off him. “You really should be more careful around those two.” Twilight said as she showed him the piece on paper. “I was wondering why Sunset patted me on the back. Thanks.” Lykos said with a small smile as he followed her out of the classroom. “So… Twilight, do you know which bus gets me to 314 Midmoon Avenue?” He asked as he watched the girl open her locker door and get a purple backpack with a violet star in the center out of it. “Yeah it’s bus 522. Wait…. that’s my bus.” She said as she turned her attention back to him. Lykos sighed with relief as he felt his luck go up. “Hey there buddy!” Only to have it plummet down as a familiar high pitched voice walked up behind him. Lykos turned around, hoping he was wrong about who it was, and saw that Blueblood had indeed met up with him. “Blueblood, what do you want?” He groaned. “Just wanted to say that I hope you had a great day here at Canterlot High and good luck throughout the rest of the year!” Blueblood replied with a smile on his face. Somebody please kill me! Lykos prayed in his thoughts. “Blueblood, don’t you have somewhere to be?” Twilight asked him making the teen gasp. “That’s right! Auntie Celestia wanted me to help her with the Fall Formal set-up!” He replied as he zoomed off with a dust cloud vanishing behind him. Twilight sighed as she turned towards Lykos. “Sorry about that Lykos. That guy is such a major douche.” She said with a smile. “Ah it’s fine. Every school has at least one of them.” He told her. “So Lykos, why did Vice Principal Luna call you into her office?” Twilight asked as the two went down the stairs. “To tell me that she’s the school counselor and asked me a few questions. The last few were weird though.” He replied as he remembered the lava lamp question. They arrived at the bus and just sat and talked a little while they headed back to their respective homes. “So what do you do?” “Eh I just come to school but I really need to get back home.” “Why? What’s going on there?” Twilight asked him which made Lykos draw in a deep and dramatic breath as the bus stopped at their street. “Babysitting my little sister.” He groaned which gave him an ‘awwwwwe’ from Twilight. They then got up from their seat and walked off the bus. But before Lykos could take a few steps forward, he heard barking which made him freeze. He looked down and saw a purple dog with green ears, light green eyes, a black nose at the end of his muzzle and he had a spiked collar with a heart tag growling at him. “Spike no. Down boy.” Twilight said sternly to the dog which made it back down and walk back into the house soon after via a small doggie door. “Spike gets a little defensive when strangers get near the house or me.” She explained to Lykos who just shrugged his shoulders and nodded in understanding. Twilight waved good-bye as he walked back to his house. He looked back towards Twilight and saw Spike who was still growling at him. What’s up with him? He thought as he then watch the mutt show off his fangs. He ignored it and continued up to his house, which was white with a black roof, and opened the door. He placed his backpack on the coat hanger and began his way upstairs. He already heard the sound of his sister starting to cry and hurried up stairs. He arrived at the door and opened…. only to see a giant black creature leaning over her. “GET AWAY FROM HER!” He screamed as he readied a punch. But as he swung, his fist went through the monster and he slammed into the wall. He then watched as the monster vanished into the air with a growl. What in the name of- before he could finish his thought the sister started to cry in earnest again. Acting quickly, he got up and picked up his little sister. “Ssh. Ssh. It’s alright Silver. Big brother’s here.” He cooed as he gently rocked his infant sibling in his arms. After a few minutes, she calmed and began to giggle as she reached up for her brother’s face. “I know. Just let me do something and we’ll play okay?” He asked as he placed her in a bouncer. Lykos then turned his attention to the calendar which was nearly crossed out. So he grabbed a black marker and crossed out Sept. 30.
