It was about 8:00 in manehatan, and every-pony was gathering in hoovesquare to watch the street race, there were several ponies , Hot rod; a black colt with a dull orange mane and a small orange handlebar mustache, whom had an engine cutie mark. Hatchback, a slightly heavy blue colt with a black mane, his cutiemark was a pair of subwoofers and there was also blaze blitz a red colt with a bright orange mane that was pulled into a spiked crest, his tail had the same spikes , His cutiemark was a burning tire.
A baby blue mare walked in front of them and said "on your marks, get set, go!!"
the three of them took off , hatchback and Hot-rod were shoving each other. Blaze took the opportunity to run around them he soon began running even faster. they caught on and quickly came up on each side of him, he saw what they were doing and quickly stopped. the two crashed together and he leaped over them as they tumbled , soon a new racer came up beside him, dieselsmoke he was a really big pony who was a lot faster than you'd think , he was grey, with a dark brown mane and a tailpipe as a cutie mark. he tried to run blitz over blitz began to run faster, and faster , he looked behind and laughed , but when he looked ahead he saw with horror,
His baby sister was cheering him on.... in the middle of the road!. he gasped as he saw diesel about to run her over, he suddenly surged forward at blinding speeds. his hooves were now aflame from the speed. diesel was about a foot from blazes sister, when WHAM blaze crashed into him, pushing him to the side, the other two went around the terrified and confused filly.
Blaze shook his head and blinked, diesel was unconscious , for now. he immediately turned around and ran to his sister "starlight what are you doing ?' he demanded in a concerned , yet irritated voice
she looked up at him with big green eyes, her yellow mane accenting her pale blue color "Im sorry blaze, i know you told me to stay but i just wanted to see you race"
she looked down "I'm sorry i made you lose, somepony pushed me into the track" blaze started "what were yo-" he blinked , then turned to anger,and looked at the crowd "who pushed you?"
the sad filly looked up "i don't know, they were gone before i could look. are you mad?"
he sighed "not at you star" he then smiled "lets get out of here, want some ice cream?" the filly was excited at the word and bounced happily "oh boy ice cream!" .
Blaze rolled his eyes "what have i done" diesel became conscious as they were discussing where they were going. he gritted his teeth and growled

blaze and starlight were walking back to their apartment, he laughed at starlight; she had more ice cream on her face, than on the con. She ramble'd excitedly about something, but blaze only heard parts of it "rainbow dash, blahblahblah ponyville, blah blah blah,fun blah blah blah, celestia" blaze simply nodded along "yeah" he wasn't looking at her, just staring ahead, annoyed starlight said grumpily "Blaze, aren't you listening?" he looked at her and shook his head "sorry star, what were you saying?" she gave a dramatic sigh "i said we should have you race rainbowdash, she's the fastest pegasus pony,she lives in ponyville, and she's even talked with princes celestia,and luna" he gave her an inscrutible look "why would i want to go to ponyville? " she said " because I do" and stuck out her tongue . he laughed until diesel came around the corner and was right in his face "blaze!, your gonna pay for makin me looze that race" blaze stepped back, so thet he was between his sister and diesel "diesel, calm down it was just a race" diesel then said "i had 30,000 bits ridin on that race" blaze shook his head "i would have won anyway, so i did you a favor" diesel hovved him in the ribs , and as he lurched over he said in his ear "you better get me those bits by next week or your baby sister might not be able to walk, understand?" blazes neyes were full of protection, and hatred "if you harm one hair in her mane ill- " WHACK diesel hits him again "youl what?" blaze winces "ill get you the money"

once they were back, blaze told his sister "pack your things now, and dont argue, we have to leave" she looked at him "blaze im scared"{ he nodded "me too but we'll be okay"

while they waited in line at the train station starlight asked "brother where are we going?" he sighed "i dont know, just someplace quiet, and far from here" she then smiled and hopped up to the teller window with her front hooves "two tickets to ponyville please " blaze rolled his eyes as she giggled "Oh alright, fine!" . they swiftly boarded the train, and as it began to move, blaze looked out the window to see diesel running beside it. he gritted his teeth , hoping he wouldnt catch them , eventualy diesel slowed as the train was too fast and began shouting obcenities and thet he would find them . blaze sighed and looked at starlight as she said "blaze im tired" he put a hove on the back of her neck and let her rest her head nexr t to him "then get some sleep, we have a long ride ahead of us" she lopoked at him "will it be okay?" he knew that things were going to get a lot worse, before getting better , that ponyville was just a place to hide for a while, but he couldnt tell her that, couldnt let her e sad, so he smiled and said "of course we'll be okay star, now go on, sleep good weve got plenty of time to do it, and with that they both closed thier eyes . blaze holding many regrets of his past
