This world has readers. Haven’t seen that for awhile. Well then. Guess I should name myself before reality makes me forget about you guys, hmm? I’m Andrew. Andrew Black. Pretty much a normal guy, I play games, watch TV, read books. And I was unlucky enough to stumble into a nice little building in the woods where some very smart people forgot to lock the door to their secret hidey hole. You know, mad scientist type people. The ones who are truly brilliant people that forget the smallest things like locks on doors. Those people. In that not-so-secret-anymore building, I found lots of expensive equipment. Flashing lights, buttons, the whole shebang. I’m more versed with technology than most people, and I tend to be the one people come to when the latest Windows update ruins their computer. Seeing computers this expensive looking, I knew it probably wasn’t something I should touch. Of course, that meant that it made me want to mess with it more. Before I started pushing buttons, I looked over and saw a book setting on a table in the corner. I walked over and opened it up, and saw the coolest thing anyone had ever seen. A very, VERY well thought out theory of how a multiverse would work. Sort of. Okay, it goes kind of like this… You sit a a table and make a choice to move your hand towards an apple or towards a banana to eat. You choose to tap your finger instead. All three of those possible choices create a different time-stream, or dimension if you will. Each choice leads to a series of new choices, and those choices lead to new choices, and so on. Now, this is where the non-cliche part starts. If you were to make a machine that would re-write our reality into whatever world you could think of, and then put it on a randomizer connected to the internet’s enormous web of stories and fake worlds, it would effectively overwrite our world into whatever randomly chosen world was picked, creating yet another reality. It said in that book that there would be a reality that wouldn’t be overwritten because of the randomizer, and that a user could bunny-hop from world to world if h rested for awhile, and even pull objects from one world to another! I thought that was AWESOME, and I was stupid enough to turn it all on. And now I can’t find the original world. I’m lost; stuck hopping from one reality to the next, trying to get home. Once I actually find my world, I can ‘bookmark’ it and keep hopping, but until I find it, I need to keep moving. I would prefer to find it sometime in the next century. Oh yeah, and I change age and gender to fit into whatever storyline I’ve been thrown into. That was… Interesting to find out. No, I don’t want to talk about it. I do have to say though… I was HOT… Erm… what was I saying? Ooh… pretty light… “I think he’s waking up!” I open my eyes to see myself inside a nice clean room,“... ugh… I feel like I crashed into brick wall…” I said. “You… kinda did.” I look over to my right to see a girl sitting on a chair next to the bed I was laying down in. I quickly take in her features; blonde hair, green eyes and freckles. “You feelin’ alright? You took quite a beatn’ from that wreck.” Wreck? What wreck? … Don’t tell me I have to fix my car again. I really liked that paintjob… I sit up as slowly as possible, feeling all the nice stabbiness of cracked ribs. “Oooooh… yeah. Yeah, I think I’m good. Ish.” She looked skeptical, “Really? You crashed your car into our barn at nearly 100 miles per hour, an you feel fine? Yeah, I don’t think so.” I’m good at sweet-talking my way out of tough situations, but, seeing as I’m in a lot of pain right now, I’m just going to work through this like a normal person would. Lie my ass off and hope I get away with it. “Really, I’m good! I’ve been through worse,” I said. “Takes a lot more than a small crash to take me out.” I say trying to get up, only to be held down by the girl. “You ain’t goin’ nowhere! You wreck into my barn with so much speed you get knocked unconcious, then get up and say you’re fine? No, you’re staying right here ‘til the doctor gets here.” She leans back and calls out the door, “Hey, Mac! He’s awake! Have AB get ‘em somethin’ to eat!” I hear an extremely deep voice call out, “Eeyup.” She nods her head and looks back to me and says, “Now look, you don’t need t’be worried, we’ve called a doctor, and she’ll be over real quick, alright? We’ll get you looked at, then you can go on your way.” “Yeah!” said a little girl with red hair. She and her enormous bow came bouncing in holding a tray covered with a large breakfast on it, “We’ll getcha back on your feet in no time!” She put the tray on my lap and looked at me like she was expecting something. I slowly took a bite and smiled to her. She beamed back with a smile that should not have been physically possible. I couldn’t help but smile wider, this little girl could give you diabetus. “Thank ya very much Applebloom, go back into the living room and play with your friends.” Wait, what? Applebloom? “But Applejaaaaaaaack-” “Don’t make me call Mac on you,” Applejack warned. Wow. Is everyone named after food-related items here? What would Mac be… Mac ‘n’ Cheese? Whatever it stands for, Applebloom rushed out of the room so fast I barely had time to blink. Wait, did she just leave a child-shaped cloud in her place? Oh hell, this is going to be another cartoon, isn’t it? Applejack turned back to me, “Sorry abou’ that. She gets likes meeting new people.” I smile, “No problem. I like kids. They remind us of what’s good in life.” Applejack smiled at that. “Well, that’s a mighty fine way of looking at things!” She seems to be a really happy person. By everything I’ve put together, we’re somewhere in the south. My brain assumes Texas, but, well, stereotypes never really got me anywhere in life. She smiles, “Yessir! Best sister anyone could ask for!” There isn’t a day where I don’t wish I could see mine again... Author's Note This is not my first story, but it is the only one I think is really good enough to be posted. I've posted others before this, but that was when I was a crappier writer. Hopefully I'm better at this now.
