Fluttershy was always happy to hit the town with her very best friend. Especially on a beautiful day like today, where the sun was shining and the beautiful birds were chirping from their perches on the rooftops high overhead. “Oh my, is something troubling you, Rarity?” Fluttershy looked at her friend in concern as they approached the front door.
“Oh, it’s nothing important, we can talk about it once we’re soaking all our troubles away.” Rarity slipped inside the door, holding it open just long enough for Fluttershy to move in after her.
One of the spa’s managers, Lotus, looked up from behind the counter before they even said anything, speaking with a thick, French accent. “Here are your robes for the day.” She moved around the counter to hand the girls a pair of white, fluffy robes. Rarity’s had her name engraved on it in silver stitching, but Fluttershy’s was plain and bare, just the way she liked it. “Go ahead and get prepared and I shall ready the hot tub for you.”
“Thank you most sincerely, Lotus. You’re always so good to me.” Rarity smiled as she pulled her robe into her arms.
“Of course I am!” Lotus smiled brightly. “All of my guests are my most treasured guests!” After she turned away Fluttershy thought she heard her mumble, “especially the ones who are putting my future children through college…”
Rarity turned back to Fluttershy. “Come, let’s talk while we get dressed… or undressed, anyway.” Rarity giggled and turned to lead the way into the back, toward the dressing room stalls. Fluttershy followed behind her, entering the privacy stall beside Rarity’s and moving to pull off her clothes, folding them in a neat pile on the convenient bench.
“So, what happened, Rarity? Are you sure you’re feeling okay?” Fluttershy asked over the wall of their cubicle.
Rarity’s voice sighed over the wall. “Oh, like I said, it’s not such a big deal. I asked out this boy I… well, kind of fancy, but he turned me down…”
“Oh, Rarity, I’m sorry.” Fluttershy cooed sympathetically. “I just can’t believe anybody would turn you down for a date. You’re like the prettiest girl in school.”
“That’s kind of you to say, but I’m a grown woman now, I can accept that not everybody is attracted to me. It’s just rather disappointing, he was really cute…” Rarity trailed off, and moments later Fluttershy heard the sound of her door opening.
With her clothes in a neat pile, Fluttershy slipped on her robe, tying it tightly around the middle to keep it closed before she opened her door to join Rarity in the hallway. A couple of small lockers set on the wall nearby would keep their clothes safe while they enjoyed their day.
“I’m glad you’re taking it so well. You’re so mature, Rarity.” Fluttershy closed her locker and turned to her friend once her clothes were secure. “I think I would be devastated if a boy I asked out simply told me no… that may be why I… I’ve never asked any boys out.” She blushed and fiddled with the loose belt from her robe with her fingers.
Rarity giggled softly behind one hand. “Awwww, Fluttershy, you really shouldn’t be afraid to let your affections be known. There’s no success without risk, after all.”
“Succeeding is part of what I’m afraid of.” Fluttershy squeaked. “I don’t know anything about being a good girlfriend. If he said no it would hurt… but if he said yes, what would I do then? What am I supposed to do?”
“You’re supposed to be yourself.” Rarity took her hand. “Anybody who asks any more of you isn’t worth dating.”
“I guess so…” Fluttershy mumbled.
Lotus entered the room with a polite smile, bowing and gesturing toward the door. “Your bath awaits, ladies. I will make sure the door is locked behind you.”
“Thank you! Come, Fluttershy, a world of relaxation awaits!” Rarity and Fluttershy made their way down the short hallways to the hot tub room, where Lotus bowed to one side to let them in, then closed the door behind them with a soft click of the lock. The familiar Jacuzzi in front of them was easily large enough for five people to sit comfortably without touching each other, but Rarity was such a regular guest that she always got it all to herself.
Rarity’s robe came off without a moment’s hesitation, hanging on the rack beside the tub before she slipped into the water wearing nothing but the smile on her lips. She hissed between her teeth as her body slipped under the surface. “Oh yes… that is wondrous…”
“Hehe, it certainly looks nice.” With only a soft blush, Fluttershy removed her own robe and hung it on the hook beside Rarity’s. When she’d first gotten to middle school she’d refused to even use the public showers, but eventually even she had to get used to it. Now she wasn’t so afraid of being naked around other girls, and especially not around Rarity. They were best friends after all, and had spent so many days together at the spa that it felt perfectly normal.
She slid into the water, smiling at the sensation of the gentle warmth engulfing her as she sunk into the water until only her head remained, lying against the wall of the Jacuzzi with her hair floating out around her on top of the water.
“Hey, Rarity.” Fluttershy cocked her head curiously. “If you don’t mind me asking, um… who did you ask out?”
Rarity giggled. “Oh, don’t tell his sister, but… Big Macintosh.”
“Oh!” Fluttershy gasped. “Oh my, you asked Applejack’s brother out? That’s so brave! He’s like… the most muscular, hunky boy in the entire school!”
“Hehehe, I know, I know, I was really pushing my luck with a stunt like that, but like I said, you can’t be afraid to go after something you want.”
“Why did he say he didn’t want to go out with you?”
“Well, he said he had too many responsibilities.” Rarity waved that off with one careless hand. “I’m not too worried about it, a no is a no. What matters is that I went for it.” She heaved a sigh and sank a bit further into the water, leaning against the side with her arms draped over the edge of the pool, with her breasts just under the surface. “I do wish he’d said yes though. I would give just about anything to be with a hunk like that…”
“Hehe… what would you… do with him?” Fluttershy asked curiously.
“Oh the things I would do to him…” Rarity practically shivered. “Have you seen him shirtless? You could iron a skirt on his stomach.”
Fluttershy blushed slightly deeper. “Y-yes, I most certainly have seen him… shirtless I mean… he goes that way sometimes while he works when I’m there visiting Applejack…”
“Oh I most certainly have as well… muscles bulging and rippling, sweat dripping down his powerful frame… I bet if he swept you up in those arms you could never get away…”
Fluttershy giggled. “Why would you want to get away?”
“A very good point.” Rarity grinned. “Let him hold me… one powerful arm holding me against his barrel chest while his other begins to pull my shirt up…” Rarity bit her lip.
“Oh… my…” Fluttershy blushed even deeper and squeezed her legs together. “Never in a million years, darling.” Rarity assured her as she slowly sat up beside the pool, leaning on one arm. “I won’t regret it either… it was actually very… very nice, sharing this with you.”
“Yes, I think so too.” Fluttershy sat up as well, feeling so relaxed she didn’t bother to hide anything, her stiff nipples or the moisture that coated her private parts.
Rarity just smiled with a soft giggle. “We really should clean up before Lotus comes to check on us, though… I’m not sure she’ll allow us back if she finds out.”
Fluttershy squeaked. “Eeep! You’re right! Oh, that would be just terrible!” She climbed to her feet with Rarity and they both made their way to some of the cabinets on the far wall, where they knew there were wash rags kept just in case of some sort of emergency. Rarity reached out to pull her into a gentle hug, patting her back with both hands. “I know what you mean.” When she pulled back she was smiling even wider than ever. Her washrag flew into the small hamper under the counter, followed by Fluttershy’s.
They both turned when the door lock clicked open and Lotus entered once again, not batting an eyelash at the sight of the two naked girls. “Was something wrong with the water?”
“Absolutely not!” Rarity insisted with a shake of her head. “We just didn’t want to get pruny, is all.”
“Ah, I see.” Lotus smiled warmly. “If you’ll come with me, the masseuse will take care of you from here.”

“Take your time.” Lotus ducked out of the room, respectfully closing the door behind her.
Fluttershy spoke as she and Rarity headed back to the hooks on the wall to retrieve their robes. “Gosh, I’m sorry you didn’t get to relax in the Jacuzzi. I know you really like that part.”
Rarity pulled her robe on with a wry smile. “Are you kidding? This is the most relaxing spa trip I’ve ever had.”
Fluttershy couldn’t help it. She belted out a light, airy belly-laugh. Rarity just slipped an arm around her comfortably and turned to leave with her, guiding her toward the exit where Lotus was waiting.
She really did feel more relaxed than she ever had, perhaps in her entire life. Relaxed with Rarity, and relaxed with herself. It was her first time ever allowing another person to see her sexuality… heck, it was the first time she’d ever really, truly let herself get lost in her sexuality. She’d always thought this would be a terrifying moment, but it was far from it. Rarity was her best friend in the world, and she trusted her.
In fact, she felt closer to Rarity than ever. Their friendship truly knew no boundaries, now. They shared everything, and they would always be there to share anything.

When a lot of people think of sexuality, one of two things usually comes immediately to mind.
1: Romance with one single person forever.
2: Promiscuity where you have sex with anybody who happens to be available and good-looking.
Like most aspects of relationships, and life, I don't think sexuality is actually limited to just these two aspects. Sexuality is a part of you, it's part of who you are, yet it's something we can't share with most people. We're not supposed to share it with most people. The only person we're "allowed" to expose our sexual selves to is our girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife, and nobody else. To me this is... pointless, to say the least. Just because you don't fall under category 1 doesn't mean you automatically fall under category 2. And honestly, I think situations like the one in this story are something most people have considered, if not run into sometime in their lives.
I suppose the second aspect of my thoughts on this story is that... being able to expose your sexuality to someone of the same gender doesn't necessarily make you gay, as strange as it sounds. I don't know, maybe this one is completely off-base and detached from reality, but I honestly think that it's fully possible to be sexually comfortable with someone of either gender without being attracted to them on a base, physical level.
