Chapter One: The Shrekoning Begins

While the novelty of him being a baby dragon was prevalent during his first few days in Ponyville, it wasn't the case now. Exploring one's sadistic tendencies was ever-prevalent within the children of Miss Cherilee's classroom--specifically Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon.
Tears trickled down Spike's scaley face and onto the library floor as he confided in Twilight Sparkle, but he was met with an unnatural apathy.
"Spike, you know those little ponies are just foolish. You're special because you're a dragon; you shouldn't let what they say get to you. You'd think those scales would be impervious to such trivial jabs!"
Spike lowered his head and attempted to stifle his sobs. Spike silently growled over his nasal cavities being clogged with snot, and the weariness and burning of his tears grew unbearable. A cold, jagged knife tore a spiritual crevice in his heart having the one tangible friend listen to his story without empathy.
Twilight drooped her head slightly, her patience wearing into an evident frown of exasperation. "Spike, I can't have my assistant acting like this. Celestia's coming to Ponyville tomorrow, and we need to get ready."
Spike sniffled and nodded. He looked up, and met Twiight's purple gaze with his green one. After what felt like an eternity, he hopelessly sighed, and turned to saunter into his room.
Light tried to glitter into the room as the door opened, but the dark seemed to instead spill out, rather than the light illuminating it. Spike somberly made his way to a desk with two candles, and lit them on fire with a shaky breath of flame. He allowed the warm glow to fill the tiny room, and closed his eyes to breathe deep with the emerging atmosphere in his sanctuary. His slight headache over his sobbing was beginning to subside, for he knew that there was one person he could confide in.
Spike closed the door, walked to his desk, got down on his knees, pulled an onion out of the desk drawer, held in tenderly in his hands, lifted the onion to his face (with his elbows atop his desk), and began to pray.
"Shrek... *sniff*... I-I-I don't know who else to turn to. I'm glad that you're listening to me, and that you guide me during my walk today and all days, but I feel so much hurt, and..." Spike stopped, and silently wailed into his arms. He composed himself, and began to speak again. "You seek to teach me that I should love myself for who I am, and be fine with it, and know that it's not just my appearance that matters, because..." Spike paused, and took a deep breath. He pursed his lips, and allowed a small swell of pride to crash in his chest. "I have layers. But...I don't know how I can find any peace in this. Shrek...how can I show them that they're wrong? I don't think I can... Please, Shrek...teach them all a lesson about who you are, and what you believe in, for I am just a dragon..."
Spike stood up, swallowed the onion, and held his left hand to his chest. "Shrek is love; Shrek is life."
Suddenly, a screeching, thick Scottish accent boomed and clamored about his tiny room: "I SAID YEP. WHAT A CONCEPT."
Spike, startled, darted his head back and forth as the voice once again boomed.
"DON'T WORRY, LADDEH. YOUR TROUBLES WILL BE OGRE SOON."
A rising chat began to slowly grow louder and louder as a thick, disgusting stench emerged. Spike listened against the roaring adrenaline in his ears, and made it out as best as he could.
"SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE SO MUCH TO DO SO MUCH TO SEE..."
Inexplicably, a large blast of energy exploded from Spike's desk, and a blood-curdling scream that would be reminiscent to that of an ogre's droned to such an awesome extent that all of Equestria could hear it.
Spike was sent flying through the door to his room, and knocked over two bookcases. He sprawled out onto the floor, terrified and shaking.
"Spike!" Twilight screamed as she galloped toward him. "What happened!? Are you alright!?"
The baby dragon slowly rose to his feet, and fought against the quivering of his legs. "I...I don't know..."
A faint whisper sounded his Spike's left ear: "It will all be ogre soon..."
