//-------------------------------------------------------// Hidden Love -by Cobolt Soundwave- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 It was another day in ponyville, everyone was out working or shopping for items they needed for the day, well everyone except for Spike and Twilight. Spike had gotten up a little while ago and was in the middle of making breakfast for himself and Twilight. Spike was around 6 foot 2 inches and was wearing his pink apron standing in front of the stove cooking pancakes. Twilight was still sleeping in her bed as the morning rays of Celestia's sun began to filter through the blinds of the window. Twilight had just woken up from sleeping she looked at the clock on her nightstand and saw that it said it was 8:00 A.M. "Mmmmmmm Aaaahhhhhh" she yawned "Another beautiful morning, I wonder what spike is making downstairs?" Twilight slides out of her bed and begins to stretch, she then walks over to the window and opens it and looks outside at all the ponies going about their daily business, then she remembers that she has to go to Rarity's boutique to get fitted for a dress that her friend was making for her as a gift for a dress that Twilight had bought her a while back for last Hearth's warming eve, Rarity had said that it was beautiful and that she just had to make her a dress just as nice for her. Though that had been almost a year ago but Twilight had received a text from Rarity yesterday that she just got some rolls of fabric from a merchant in Canterlot and she said that now she would be able to make her that dress she had promised her so long ago, in all honesty Twilight had thought that Rarity had completely forgotten about the dress after so long, after all she wouldn't pay any attention to it really since Twilight knows that she can get a little busy sometimes what with all the orders that come through to her sometimes and the fact that she is constantly fixes dresses and clothing for the residents of ponyville since she is the towns only seamstress, but Rarity loved the business nonetheless. After coming back from spacing out for a while thinking about what she was going to do today she then decided to start making her way downstairs for breakfast "I hope Spike's making pancakes Celestia knows I've had cereal for too long this week" Twilight really wanted something else that wasn't cereal since she had it for breakfast everyday of the week so far so it was safe to say that she was a bit tired of it for now. Spike was about half way done with making their breakfast when he started to think to himself "I wonder when Twilight is going to wake up it's already eight in the morning, she's usually up by now, hmmm i wonder if she going to sleep in, haha ya then i can rub it in her face about her telling me that sleeping in can become a bad habit and-" but his thought process was broken when he heard the door to Twilight's room open up and he heard the sound of footsteps on the stairs leading to the library portion of the tree house "And only 2 minutes after eight" he laughed a little at that thought and continued to cook the pancakes or was about to when he heard Twilight pop into the kitchen "Good Morning Spike" she said to the drake in the frilly pink apron. Naturally Spike began to turn around to say good morning back to her "Good Morning to you too sleepy head, how did you sle-" Spike instantly froze on the spot at the sight before him, here was Twilight standing in front of him in the kitchen in only the T-shirt and panties that she went to sleep with last night "Aaaahhhhh!" the pancake he was about to flip over with the spatula was now launched into the air and just disappeared into the air most likely getting stuck to the ceiling. "T-t-twilight what-you-I uhhhh" Spike couldn't even think properly after seeing that his brain had practically imploded at the scene before him. Twilight just looked at him with a look that said "What he heck is wrong with him" and wondered if there was something behind her or maybe there was a spider on her shoulder, at that thought she got equally freaked out and started to look over herself only to stop and completely forget about the imaginary spider and just got stuck looking straight down at the floor, she had finally realized what Spike saw that make him freak out that much to launch a pancake to the heavens "Aaaahhhh" she yelled and quickly jumped back behind the entryway to the kitchen and just looked back at Spike who was still staring intently at the floor "Ummmm s-s-sorry about that i-i d-didn't look in the mirror this morning when i woke up so i completely forgot that was just wearing a T-shirt and underwear haha" she quickly apologized and nervously chuckled. There was a pregnant pause after that that lasted for what felt like minutes until Spike broke the silence. "Ummm yeah i-it's a-alright i w-was just a bit surprised is all" said Spike, "Yeah umm I uhh I'm going to go and get some pants and I'll be right back" It was then that the pancake that was believed to have left the plane of existence decides to make it's return and land right on Spikes head landing just so that it blocks out one eye and part of his face. Twilight can't help but giggle a bit at the sight of Spike with a pancake on his head. "Haha I was actually starting to wonder where that went" said Spike as he peeled the pancake off his head and deposited it in the trash since it had been stuck the ceiling most likely and more recently his head and face. As Spike threw away the pancake Twilight left to go and put on a pair of pajama bottoms with little stars and swirls on it with her interest in start gazing and all, and besides they were her most comfortable pair of pajama bottom's she had. After taking her time and getting a pair of pants on Twilight left her room and made her way down the stairs again this time stepping in front of the mirror just to make sure she actually put on pants like she said she would. When she got to the dining room she noticed that the table was already set and Spike was already bringing out their breakfast to the table. They both sit down and begin to gather their own stack of pancakes and putting on whatever toppings they wanted, Spike put whipped cream on his and some crushed gems while Twilight put whipped cream and strawberry's on hers. "Sooooo what are you doing today Spike?" the drake was about to take a bite of his breakfast when he heard Twilight ask him that. "Well i was going to go to sweet apple acres and help out AJ with applepicking today, can't go soft now can I" Spike flexed his muscles and wriggled his eyebrows to which Twilight simply giggled at "you know with all the junk you've been eating I'm surprised you haven't gotten your belly back yet." She was glad that the incident from earlier didn't make Spike not want to talk to her and the fact that she got a laugh out of poking fun at her assistant as a nice way to start a morning that was full of awkwardness. "Hey you-I-you" Spike stuttered. "I'm only kidding Spike haha, you make it too easy to mess with you sometimes" Twilight just kept giggling like a little school filly and Spike's face kept getting redder and redder as he realized that she was just kidding. "Oh Spike you know I'm only joking besides I know you have a high metabolism so it's fine, but still try not to eat everything, you know if you have a fruit every now and then instead of a bag of chips or cookies and soda maybe you wouldn't be so lazy" she finished with a smirk but it quickly turned the other way with what Spike had to say. "Oh really now miss "I'm having a bad day so I'm going to my room to read" only for me to come up there with lunch to find you laying on your bed on your stomach with bag of potato chips and empty cans of soda and a comic book which was mine might i add." At this point Twilight was remembering that moment with great detail and blushed hard at the memory "Also your face was covered in potato chip bits and you had a stain on your shirt that i assumed was from the soda 'cause I heard a yell from our room and you saying 'dang it!'" By this point If you looked at Twilight's face you couldn't tell if it was red or lavender from how hard she was blushing "uhhhh welll i was...i mean uhhhhh.... i thought you would leave me alone in the room and...duhh" Twilight couldn't help but stutter. "Don't worry Twilight i know you don't always do something like indulge in junk food like that but I assume that that was particularly stressful so I have nothing to say to that since I can only assume Rarity has her days like that as well" At Spikes comment about Rarity's possible vice she relaxes and regains her composure only for Spike to reiterate her previously said comment "Sorry sometimes you just make it so easy to poke fun at you haha" "Uhhh...yeah....right so uh" as Spike lightly laughed at her stuttering he decided it was his turn to ask her what she was doing today. "So Twilight what are you doing today? You know since we were on the subject of what we has planned for today" "Well Rarity actually texted me yesterday and told me to come over to her boutique today, seems she still wants to make that dress for me that she told me she wanted to make for me after i got her that dress from Canterlot last Hearth's Warming" Spike looked back up from taking a bit of his food and looked at Twilight "Really i thought she had forgotten about that since it's almost been a year" "Well i never asked so i assumed that as well but i guess she was just very busy what with all the ponies coming from all over to have her take orders and restitching clothes from the residents from Ponyville, besides i never asked her about it since i didn't want to remind her and make her think she had to do it for me along with all other thousands of things she was already doing" "Hmmm yea it makes sense i guess, knowing Rarity she would have insisted and then just brushed off your concern for her getting over-whelmed and getting stressed out with her trying to get the dress done and her work orders done as-well." Both Twilight and Spike had both finished their breakfast a while ago but they talking for a while before the left to do their respective things for the day, their conversation consisted of the usual things like getting new books for the library to how Twilight had read a book almost halfway through only for Spike to tell her that was reading an erotica and watching her flip to the front and re-read the chapter titles and eventually slamming the book shut with a blush that could almost put Pinkie Pie to shame, almost. "Hey in my defense the book never really made too many hints as to what the characters were doing in the story so I never noticed until you told me" Just remembering that made Twilight blush a bit again. "Hey it's okay even Rainbow Dash might have missed the plot of the book." Twilight just thought about that and laughed a little until Spike spoke again "You know if she was blind". That comment only made Twilight blush again, to think that Spike would say that Rainbow Dash would be able to catch on to the story faster than her, she doesn't even read anything other then the Daring Do books that she always comes by to borrow from her. Twilight was visibly pouting enough for Spike to take notice so he decided to try and fix the situation in case she was actually upset with him "Hey Twi' you know I'm just kidding right....right? I mean come on do you think that Dash would really... you're not really mad at me are you?" Spike had a blank you on his face by the time he finished trying to apologize. Twilight was now visibly shaking trying to control her laughter since she had just duped Spike yet again this morning making it twice so far in the span of 2 hours. "I s-s-sohoho-sohahar-r-r-y Spike I just couldn't r-resist y-you just start-ha-ed to apologize and...and....pffft ahahahahahahaha" and with that the giggle and shakes turned into full on laughter which was apparently contagious because shortly after Spike joined in on the laugh-fest. Soon they had gotten there laughter under enough control so that they only slightly chuckled a bit from time to time "Okay so maybe I did fall right into that one but uhh yea seriously though I was only kidding about the Rainbow Dash thing you know I was joking right?" Spike said rubbing his neck in a semi-embarrassed manner. "Of course Spike I knew you where joking but when you mentioned that although I was a little urked but then i got that idea so i just rolled with it" "Huh jeez Twi I didn't know you were a prankster like Pinkie and Rainbow" Spike still chuckled a bit, the giggles were very contagious today. "Oh no I'm not but after you get pranked and joked around enough you pick up a few things, besides I think we should clean-up and get ready to get on our ways besides it's already 10 A.M. and I promised Rarity I would be there at around 10:45 and you said that AJ needed when?" "Oh yeah she never told me when she needed me she just asked me if I could come by to help today but yeah I probably shouldn't keep her waiting and thinking if I'm going to show up or not." Both Spike and Twilight started to clean up and bring all the dirty dishes to the sink and put away the whipped cream and fruits they ha for the pancakes. Twilight didn't notice that the whipped cream had gotten a little runny and a blob of it had fallen as she had put it in the fridge, Spike had just put all the dirty dishes in the sink and turned around in time to catch Twilight as she slipped on the cream. "Aaaahhhh!" she screamed as she began falling back towards the hard unforgiving floor only to stop moving half way down, she was confused since she had closed her eyes the moment she began falling so she wouldn't see the ceiling getting farther as she got closer to the floor. "Hey you alright Twi you slipped on some of the Whipped cream, some of it must have fell out of the bowl when you put it back in the fridge." But twilight hadn't really paid attention she was to busy staring right into his Dark emerald eyes. Unlike most dragons Spike's eyes did not have those trademarked slits where his pupils were and maybe it was just all in Twilight's head but she could have swearn that his eye twinkled a bit as he looked her dead in the eyes and asked "Hey Twi are you alright?" "Uhhh duhhh ummm oh y-yeah perfect just fine" responded Twilight albeit a bit slowly. "Uhhh ok just that you kinda spaced out and that was the third time I asked you if you were okay I was kinda starting to get worried a bit." Spike slowly but gently lifted Twilight back to an upright position. "Ummm thanks Spike" she blushed a bit since on the way up she had felt his strong muscular arms around her holding her and picking her back up before she fell. "Sooo uhh we should probably get ready and go so we don't keep or friends waiting." Spike was having similar thoughts with the situation, when he caught her he didn't think much of it but when he did catch her he noticed that she was actually pretty slim and dare he say warm against his body not to mention the feel of her wings against his chest and how they slightly tickled his skin where they touched not that he was complaining though it felt nice but he didn't dwell to long on that thought "Yeah we probably should get ready I did promise AJ I would help her" At that Both of them turned for the stairs and went to their room and got changed, Twilight in the bathroom and Spike in the Bedroom. When they finished getting dressed they walked downstairs and made for the front door, Spike opened it up and let Twilight walk through first and then walked outside himself and closed the door Twilight then locked it and they both turned and walked down the steps of their tree house. "Okay I'm heading for Rarity's now careful while helping Applejack Don't hurt yourself okay?" said Twilight just as she was about to turn and head for Rarity's. "Yeah I know i learned my lesson after last time" the pain and soreness now coming back to his mind and he suppressed a shudder since he was practically bed-ridden for the batter part of 3 days and only felt better on the third day. "Yes, and we all know who had to take care of you while you were bed-ridden those three days." she said with a faint smirk on her face. "Yeah Celestia and Luna knows we want a repeat of last time" The sarcasm heavily prominent in his voice as he said it "Well we should get going" "Yeah we should, hey you know you should use your wings some more don't want then to get stiff from dis-use" Twilight simply shrugged it off and rolled her eyes at him. "I haven't stopped using my wings since i got them about a couple of months back" and boy was that an weird morning for the both of them, just imagine Twilight's surprise and Spike's horror as he awoke to the strange feeling of somepony stroking something on his back only to find out it was indeed Twilight touching him all over his newly grown wings and it was embarrassing since they were stiff from her groping them for so long, granted Dragons wings aren't as sensitive as pegesi wings they were still sensitive enough to feel the change in wind currents to allow a smooth flight or enough to making them stay ridged after you have someone touch them for so long. "Spike you know i still can't use them perfectly just yet and there's nothing wrong with walking" "Ok suit yourself but you have to learn how to fly at some point princess, can't have a flightless ruler of Equestria now can we?" "Ugh Spike you know I hate it when everypony calls me that, just because i am a princess now doesn't mean I'm anymore different than before i became a princess." Twilight gave Spike a slight look of annoyance. "Ok ok sorry I won't call you that, but you gotta get used to being called that someday you know" Twilight just shrugs her shoulders "Yeah well that day ain't today and it won't be around for a long time" "Yeah okay anyway we should get going It's already 10:30 and you have to meet Rarity at 10:45 you said?" "Oh shoot I'm going to be late, ok Spike I really have to go see you later, bye!" and with that Twilight turned and started towards Rarity's house while Spike started for AJ's farm all the while they both started thinking about what happened that morning, from the little accident in kitchen to when Twilight slipped and almost fell. "Hmm I never noticed just how strong Spike had gotten until he caught me and I felt his muscles moving to pick me back up." "I never knew how slim and curvy Twilight was until I caught her, I think that has been the closest I've been to her since my first growth spurt." "and his abs, I could feel them through his shirt" "Her fur was so soft almost like velvet" "And those Emerald eyes of his it was like they were shining in the light" "Her beautiful purple eyes it was like staring at pools of lavender colored water" "I never noticed how handsome he is" "I never noticed how beautiful she is" They both just stopped dead in there tracks and just stood there think about what they just thought about the other that they had just been talking to no more than four to five minutes ago. "What was that all about?" they both thought to themselves. "Why am i just thinking about this now?" Both Of them started walking again towards their destinations and just shrugged it off as nothing. "It's probably nothing i mean I'm no perv' but I've looked at other mares and most are fairly pretty" thought Spike. "It's not like i haven't looked at other stallions before I mean I've taken a few glances at Big Mac but never really thought of another stallion in that way before" thought Twilight. They both just once again shrugged it off "Oh well It's probably nothing maybe time with my friend's will take my mind off of it" So they went on they ways to there respective places thinking nothing of anything that they just thought of, little did they know that it was just the start of a hidden love.
