Firefly quietly walked into her daughter's bedroom. It was the first day of flight camp and both Rainbow Dash and Halo Mist were sound asleep. The girls shared a room together, but to be honest that room was a bit bigger than the average bungalow. Rainbow's half of the room was decorated was almost every single piece of Wonder Bolt merchandise ever made. Misty's half had many books, plushies and art supplies. Firefly loved both of her daughters, but she wished that Halo was more interested in flying than art. It would be kinda embarrassing if only one of the Wonder Bolt captain's daughters made the Wonder Bolt in-training squad.
Firefly woke up Rainbow Dash first. The filly had her father's vibrant rainbow mane, even after brushing it never lay flat. As Rainbow started to wake up, Firefly moved over to Halo. Halo's mane was also rainbow in colour, but it was much lighter and more wavy. Halo was also much taller and thinner than Rainbow Dash. But, there was one thing about her filly that really bugged Firefly...her wings! They weren't normal pegasus wings. In fact, they looked more like the young princess Cadence's wings. This freaked out Halo, and made her never fly outside, in fear of ponies laughing at her strange wings. Firefly was scared for her daughter, but today was the first day of flight camp and every pegasus had to pass the final test in order to stay in Cloudsdale.
Rainbow leapt out of her bed, "OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH! FIRST DAY OF FLIGHT CAMP! WOO-WHO!!!" Screamed the little filly, as she flew at a rather fast speed around the room.
"Oh no." groaned Halo as she rolled over and threw her pillow over her head.
"Girls," began Firefly as she started to close the bedroom door behind her "I want you downstairs in ten minuets."
Rainbow looked down at her mother excitedly "Ok mom we'll be down soon!"
Firefly looked at her other daughter, "You too, Halo Mist get up!" Halo had tears in her eyes, she had only ever flown in the practice arena in their backyard.
"I don't want to go!" she wailed, the tears now pouring from her eyes. Firefly walked over to Halo, and sat down beside her. At that moment Firefly knew that only Dashie could ever live up to her expatiations.
Firefly looked at the little trembling filly. "Sweetie, your wings are beautiful they are nothing to be ashamed of."
Halo looked at her mom, and then spread her wings out, "I guess but what if-"
Firefly cut her off "No 'what ifs', Halo you are stunning and I'm sure that one day you will be admired by everyone so enough of this pity party and make your bed."
Rainbow Dash flew over to her sister as their mother exited the room "Don't worry sis, if anypony bugs you, they'll have to go through me first!" Dash looked brave, confident and pretty. Not to mention the fact that Rainbow could probably live up to their parents dream of the two fillies continuing the family legacy in the elite Wonder Bolt team.
Mist wiped away her tears and looked at Rainbow. "Thank you sister, but you should worry about being a Wonder Bolt...mom and dad need you to." Halo knew she had let a little bit of jealousy seep through her words.
Rainbow had then picked up on the real cause of her sister's sadness. "Halo?" began Rainbow "I know mom and dad have been kinda pushy with the whole Wonder Bolt thing but, Halo?"
Halo looked at her sister. Rainbow had never looked so serious in her whole life. "Yes Rainbow?" said Halo, wiping a few tears off her face.
Rainbow Dash smiled a little and said "Sis your perfect in your own way and your way prettier than me so don't think that ponies will laugh at your wings because Misty, you look like a princess!" Halo smiled back at Dash.
"Thanks Dashie, I think... we should get ready now." And at that, the two twins made their beds, wondering what this camp would do for them, and if their cuite marks would appear during the week-long endeavor.
Flight camp sucked. In a nutshell, all that happened during that terrible week was Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash fought for the weak fliers. Rainbow Dash created the legendary sonic rainboom. Rainbow Dash got her cutie mark. Rainbow Dash aced the exam. Rainbow Dash was told to go try out for the Wonder Bolt in-training squad. It was all about the amazing Rainbow Dash. Nopony cared about Fluttershy, the filly who fell to the earth and was saved by butterflies. Nopony cared about Halo Mist, the filly who got her cutie mark in air-art. Nopony cared that Halo had been accepted to a modelling school, or that she was specializing in flying art. It was all about Rainbow and Halo couldn't take it anymore.
Rainbow flew as fast as she could around the shared bedroom. "OH MY GOSH! OH MY GOSH! OH MY GOSH!" She had been repeating herself since the exam results arrived. Halo had had enough.
"WILL YOU SHUT IT! NOPONY CARES ABOUT YOUR DUMB EXAM!"
Rainbow looked at her sister with disbelief. "I'm sorry Halo...I...um...I'll just go?"
Halo glared at her twin. "You have been flying around in circles for the last three days. Rainbow, I'm happy for you but just stop! Not everypony is the best and fastest flyer, OK!"
Rainbow sat on her cloud bed and looked across the room to her sister. "I'm sorry Halo. I'm really sorry. I don't know why I was act-" Halo cut her off,"Please, you know why your acting this way. Your just soooo excited to be a Wonder Bolt, and make mommy and daddy soooo proud!" snickered Halo. Rainbow Dash started to feel really sad.
Halo wasn't done."So what's gonna happen? Your just gonna leave for four years and then be a Wonder Bolt?" Halo laughed a laugh that Rainbow Dash never heard before. This was not Halo. Halo was a confident, smart, artistic filly who would never hurt a fly. Halo suddenly started to cry. Rainbow looked at her, not quite sure what to do. Eventually, she decided to approach her crying twin.
"There, there Halo. Everything will be ok. I'm sure your exam wasn't that bad." Halo looked at her sister. Rainbow Dash had never been good at anything. Her only friend was Halo, her only talent was speed. Halo then realised she was acting terrible. Halo Mist had art awards, a small circle of fillies she could talk to, and in school she had straight A's.
"Oh my gosh! Rainbow I'm sorry!" Halo started to bawl again. "I was always perfect, and you never were and now something good happens to you and I RUINED IT!"
Rainbow looked at her feet. Her sister's words about being perfect hurt. Eventually, Rainbow decided to apologise despite Halo's hurtful apology. "No I was being pig-headed, I'm sorry." said Rainbow, a tear falling down her cheek. Halo glided across the room and hugged Rainbow.
"I'm sorry too."

The day finally came when Halo was to leave for Miss Glamour's school for the Beautiful. Rainbow was also leaving that day, to the Wonder Bolt in-training try outs. Both girls were staying far away overnight, and not in Cloudsdale. Firefly and Prism Dash were both very proud of there daughters. In fact, the happy parents bought their daughters matching light blue bags. The only difference between Rainbow's bag and Halo's was the tiny cuite mark emblem on the side. Halo's train arrived first.
"Bye mom, bye dad. See you later Dashie." Halo said, her voice quavering a little. Firefly, Prism and Dash all embraced the slightly weepy young mare. Halo grabbed her designer bag and boarded the train. As the train drove down the tracks toward Canterlot, Halo waved at her slightly weepy family.
A few long minuets later, Rainbow's train to Ponyville arrived. She, like her sister said her goodbyes, grabbed her bag and waved from inside the train. When Dash no longer saw her parents waving at her, she turned around to find her face nose-to-nose with a bright yellow filly, around the same age as her.
"Why do you have a bag with a shooting star on it? Your cutie mark is a lightning bolt." said the strange filly.
Rainbow Dash looked down at the bag."OH NO! I have my sister's bag! I have to go!" exclaimed Rainbow. She couldn't let Halo go to beauty school with out her make-up and cloths.Rainbow also remembered her plush rainbow. There was no way she was sleeping with out it! Rainbow looked back at the filly with the orange mane.
"Hey if I'm late could you tell them I went to drop off my sister's bag?" The filly looked at Rainbow Dash
"Ok will do!" she said in fake, cheerful tone.
"Thanks so much!" said Rainbow Dash as she flew off to Canterlot at the speed of lightning.
The filly smirked as the rainbow trail started to fade. Not only was Spitfire not going to tell anyone where Dash went but, she would convince them to kick her out. Rainbow Dash was famous for her sonic rainboom and fast flying skills, of course they would want her instead of Spitfire. There can only be one Wonder Bolts captain and that captain shall be me! Though Spitfire, as the train continued its journey to Ponyville, minus a Dashie.
