Still Alive...
“Hey, you seen Violet?” I looked around, two of us were here, me and Ocean.
The basement was dusty, damp and cold, much longer in here I swear I would have died, “Hey, sorry I'm late.” The door slammed behind him and Violet walked in.
I unrolled a map onto our meeting table, nothing special, one sector of the map was crossed off, no one asked why, just like I hoped they would.
“Ok, were we going to go today, we've gone to the lower district, higher maybe?”
Ocean placed his finger on the map, “Here.”
He had his finger on the a wall, the wall, the one that was visible everywhere.
It was a good choice, there was dismantled scaffolding there, it had repairs but some of it was still up, I thought about it for a moment, “Why not, meet you guys there.
I shoved my two spray paint cans into my track suit pockets and began to run up the stairs, I was always there first so I was ready first.
The sunlight stung my eyes for a little bit and I held my arm up to cast a shadow over them, I hate that fucking basement, too dark, but that didn't stop me. Once I got adjusted to the light I began to run, jumping over barrels and whatever else were in my way, its like people took whatever they didn't need and shoved it in this alley, no time to stop though. Jumping onto the first house to my left I hit it with a thud.
I stopped and looked around, "Where can I go?" I thought to myself before spotting a fire escape, easy jump, I backed up a bit and began to sprint, just a small one before I launched myself off the edge and landed on the stairs.
My knees cracked, it was normal now, It just happens.
Ignoring it I began to run up the flights of stairs,one...two....three.
I finally made it to the top, and I saw it, the empty wall, perfect for us.
And I began to run, rooftop to rooftop, the wind rushing past my face, for me, it was relaxing.
I heard footsteps behind me and I turned around, there was Violet and Ocean, both in our trademark hoodies while each hoodie there color and there tracksuits the same.
This was going fine..wait, no its not, I began to hear Helicopter blades behind us, "Guys, RUN!"
All of us began to sprint, hopefully they were not armed, a round discharged and I saw Violet's head spray blood in front of her.
Ocean stopped and ran back towards her, "NO OCEAN, DON-" Another bang told me another round was discharged and Ocean fell to the ground, his head with a 9mm hole in it, that just left me but of course, in my lack of concentration I tripped and face planted, knocking me out when I hit the ground.
7 hours and 53 minutes later.
I groaned a little bit, not wanting to wake up, "Waskef Utsgfd!"
There was a voice, muffled, "Shcsok Hdufm aghtn!"
Pain shot through my body and I awoke instantly, "AAGGH!"
Three people stood around me, I knew them, the supposed 'Peacekeepers', "Welcome back Jack."
I froze, it was him, the one who hunted us, his head was close to mine, I spat at him, hit him square in the face. He stood there for a moment, before wiping his face clean and slapping me, HARD across my face, it radiated heat but I kept my stone face, I never show emotion, not after what happened to Orange.
He turned around, he was holding a folder, flipped it around and showed it to me, I froze, all 6 of us were there, all of them but me had a red cross on their face.
"What do you want?" I growled through my clenched teeth and he just stared at me, thinking I guess.
"How many of you are left?" And I stared in return, "One, me."
Sad thing was, I wasn't lying, I was the only person who knew color left in this city, well, a color apart from grey, white or black, or so I thought.
"Good, well you see, thats a lie..." He yelled into the darkness, "Bring her out!"
A light switched on and I saw her, Orange, or as I knew her, Carmine. I yelled out to her, "CARMINE!" She looked up, afraid, scared.
"Don't worry, it'll be ok!" I began to struggle against the straps holding me down.
"So, tell me." I heard the distinct click of a pistol, "how many of you are there really?"
"It's just us to!" I was panicking now, she was crying, she was tough but they must've beaten her or something, she looked pretty broken up. "Stop lying to me and tell me again, how many of you are there?" I yelled the same thing again while tears began to stream down my face. He sighed and pulled the trigger, "No, YOU BASTARD!!" Her body now laid limp in the chair, her blood stained my hoodie. And I strained, with more strength than I thought I had and broke the restraints, jumped on him and shot him in the head. The alarm sounded, but I didn't care, she used to be the last thing I had, now it was all gone, I sat there hugging her until the door opened, pain shot through my arm, then my chest, everything started to fade black.
Sounds started to go quiet, I couldn't see, all I couldn't feel...nothing.
"This is what its like to die.." I thought, it just felt like I was going to sleep and I gave in.
Warmth...I could feel it flooding through my body.
Wait...warmth?
I shot up and looked around, I couldn't focus but I did see a rather large blue figure, or so I thought.
I let out a long moan and attempted to sit up only for the blue figure to approach me and push me back down, "Just lay down, it'll be alright." The voice was relaxing to me, soothing, my vision began to focus and I could make out a figure...horse?
Then it completely focused and I freaked, "What the fuck!"
I backed into a corner on the other side of the room from her, "Just lay down, can you do that for me." I could tell she was trying to calm me down, duah, but it wasn't working, a horn which meant Unicorn and wings which meant Pegasus. Wait....this was, I remember this...I watched this once, black & white of course but, still.
My little pony something, something, something. But that was just a show, wasn't it?
My head began to throb and I fainted.
