He doesn't even know me. I am always put second to him. I try to act strong and proud but around him I feel as if the world is against me. Why do I stay? This question has haunted me for the last three years. It is as if a force is keeping me with Fancy Pants.

"Darling the tickets are here," Fancy Pant's voice echoes up the winding staircase to my room. Great. Another chance for Fancy Pants to talk to Rarity or any other mare that walks by. It always wasn't like this. I use to be popular. Always wanting to fit in. When I met Fancy Pants he was just another stallion in Canterlot, but not to me. To me Fancy Pants was my world. I made him as popular as me I let him feel what it was like to bask in the glory. Soon Fancy Pants got good at my popularity tricks. Too good. He started to become more popular than me. Every time some pony knew who he was, every time he became more famous, he pushed me away a little. Now I am all alone. I still see the stallion Fancy Pants used to be. Maybe I am only imagining it.

"Darling, did you hear me? I said the tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala are here."

"Coming Fancy Pants!"

I trot down the spiral staircase to a vast ballroom. There, Fancy Pants sits on a mahogany dining chair staring at a golden letter and holding up two tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala. I sit down next to him and half dazed examine the mail in front of me. There in a silver envelope read the name Fleur De Lis. I open the peculiar envelope and read a letter from Princess Luna that I am invited to the Grand Galloping Gala and the V.I.P. section of the party.

"Will you be my plus one to the gala Fleur. Of course you can't say no. This year I was invited to the very important pony section. Finally Celestia has some sense to put me into the-"

"I was invited to the gala," my voice tumbles out of my mouth before i stop it.

"Interrupting a pony is not a Canterlot-like thing to do besides…. Wait. What?"

"I was given two tickets to the Gala, Fancy Pants, and to the Very Important Pony section."

"Why would they let you in?" Fancy Pants said this with such confusion that a pain hit my stomach, "You aren't that famous anymore. You're only known because you're with me. If they let everyone into the V.I.P. section it won't be called the Very Important Pony section."

"I'm not going with you to the Gala Fancy Pants."

Suddenly Fancy Pants seemed worried.

"Please Fleur, give me another chance." For a second i think i should say no. But Who else would i go with? All I know are Fancy Pant's friends i can't take any of them. They all have tickets to the Gala already.

"I will give away the guest tickets but i will keep my own invitation." Fancy Pant's relaxed when he heard me.

"Thank you Fleur… Now what shall we where I have an ensemble that will go great with your ruby necklace…"

"How about we go shopping and choose completely new outfits?" A smile widened on his face. I tried my best to match it. Am I really forgotten? Maybe if I try to be noticed some pony will pay attention to me.

We walk down the streets of Canterlot in search of Banta Boutique. There in the window was a beautiful gown. A light purple matching that of her eyes, trimmed with white lace and sash. Two elegant blue swirls started at the neck and ended at the trail of the dress. It. was. perfect.

"Now that is a dress to impress!" I loved that gown with it's ruffles and bows.

"Oh What a lovely dress! It truly complements your- HALF A MILLION BITS?! I-I mean maybe you can wear that green gown! It still looks nice." He said, "Oh now we can use that very same money to get me this wonderful new tux! This one is aging fast."

Despite the fact that that we got that tux only last year. Fleur new it. She was being ignored.

"Oh…. um ok," I said disappointed.

"Ladies dont mumble." There he goes again. Correcting me. I flash a wide glittery smile and he walks into the store. I have no choice but to follow him.

"These two suits are fabulous... Maybe! I can make a costume change in the middle of the gala!"

"Um… That leaves no money for my outfit Fancy Pants."

" Pish posh my darling! You've that stunning green gown! It would be fine." I was near losing it. My years of practice of masking my true emotions were the only things keeping my reputation. But even then, everypony has a breaking point. And I was about to snap.
