//-------------------------------------------------------// A Dragon's Heart -by furryman- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Several miles outside Ponyville a strange thing occurred. A small multicolored hole appeared and slowly grew larger. Within moments it was larger than the biggest pony. The hole stabilized and a beautiful female “dragon” stepped out. She was approximately six feet tall and had glowing green eyes with reptilian like slits. She was covered in gleaming golden scales. Triangular ruby red plates grew along her back from the top of her head to the tip of her draconic tail. Her figure was deliciously feminine with extraordinarily large firm breasts, narrow waist and wide hips. She had two large draconic wings growing from her back. She was wearing a form fitting silver body suit that hugged her luscious curves. Even though her scales were tough enough to defect most primitive weapons, the suit was made of a material which could deflect all but the most powerful projectiles. You might think it strange that something so reptilian looking had breasts. Despite their appearance dragons were actually warm blooded beings who gave live birth to their young and nursed them, sometimes for years. The portal behind her shrank just as quickly as it had appeared then was gone. As she looked around she spotted a road some distance away. Dragons had eyes as sharp as eagles. She headed in that direction. Spotting a humanoid (draconic?) figure walking down the road she went to meet it.. The being quailed when it saw her and looked as if it was ready to run off. “A dragon!” it cried. “P… please don’t eat me! I swear I taste terrible!” it pleaded. Excellent, the translator worked perfectly. “Obviously dragons exist on this world, but they’re little more than barbarians.” she thought to herself. “Don’t worry, I won’t harm you. I merely wish to meet with your ruler.” she said. The being relaxed when it saw she wasn’t going to attack. “Well, there ain’t no rulers ‘round these parts. But I know a guy that’ll help you out.” “Would you take me there?” It made what was obviously a positive motion with it’s head then replied. “Sure will! Right this way.” As the dragoness followed the humanoid, she studied it. It was covered with fur and had long hair growing from it’s head. The face, hands and feet were remarkable similar to a dragon’s. A long tail grew from it’s coccyx. “Probably mammalian.” she concluded. The lack of well developed breasts indicated that this being was most likely male. The lack of sharp claws and teeth showed that the male was likely descended from a race of prey rather than a race of predators. “Still, even prey can be dangerous.” she thought. Soon they arrived at a small town. The dragoness’s well developed analytical skills quickly deduced that this was likely little more than some outlying village. Probably some type of farming community. “Welcome to Ponyville, stranger.” The male announced as they passed thought the entryway. He lead her onward. Approximately half a mile further they came to an enormous tree. Built into the tree was a house! “What kind of technology could possibly produce such a thing?” she wondered. “Here you go.” the male said. He knocked on the door and it was answered by another dragon! “Apparently there are civilized dragons here, but then why was the man so afraid of me?” she asked herself. She studied the other dragon. It was obviously male. He was even taller than she was, she estimated that he was nearly six and a half feet tall. He had purple scales that covered his back and sides, while light green scales covered his front. He was very well muscled and very masculine. The triangular plates that grew from the top of his head to the tip of his tail were dark green. He had two large draconic wings growing from his back. Despite his size he appeared quite young. She figured he couldn’t be more than twenty. He wore a green shirt and purple pants. He seemed taken aback when he saw another dragon standing before him. She felt a thrill of passion sweep over her as she surveyed him. Surely this was the handsomest, the most muscular, the sexiest drake she’d ever met “Don’t worry, she’s not dangerous.” the male standing next to her stated. “She’s lookin’ for the rulers of Equestria and I figured you all was the best dragon to help her out.” “Won’t…won’t you come in?” he asked her. She headed inside the tree house. Looking around she saw that the room was lined with books from floor to ceiling. “A library?” she thought to herself. To say that Spike was startled when he saw another dragon standing before him was a understatement. As far as he knew he was the only civilized dragon in all Equestria. “I take it your not from around here?” he asked as calmly as he could even though his heart was racing. This utterly glorious creature was the most beautiful, the most glamorous, the sexiest female he’d ever seen. All thoughts of Rarity were instantly driven from his head. “I am from another dimension. I’m here to establish diplomatic relations with your leaders. My name is Sunrunner.” “Hello, I’m Spike. I‘m not a leader but I do know them and I‘ll be glad to take you to them.” He held out his hand. She looked unsure how to respond. Feeling unusually bold he took her hand in his and kissed the back of it. She shivered slightly. A wave of desire traveled through her. “A pleasure to make your acquaintance. Come in and make yourself comfortable. It’ll take me a few minutes to get ready.” “Before you go, I want to ask you a question.” she said. “Of course.” “That male acted frightened of me when he first saw me. I was wondering why.” “As far as I know all the other dragons on Equestria are little more than barbarians. A small number grow to immense size and are quite vicious. It’s little wonder that most ponies think that even the smaller ones will attack.” “And you?” “One of the leaders of Equestria, Princess Celestia, found me abandoned on her doorstep and decided to adopt me.” “She seems extraordinarily kind.” “She is.” Spike replied. As she watched, Spike took a roll of parchment and wrote something rather lengthy on it. Much to her surprise he then rolled it up and blew green flame on it. It vanished instantly. Strangely there were no ashes or smoke. “Why did you do that?” Sunrunner asked. “That was a spell. It transported my letter to Princess Celestia. It sure does come in handy!” he commented. “A spell? Are you telling me magic actually exists here?” “I assume you used some type of science to come here?” Spike asked. She nodded. “It might seem like magic, but I assure you there‘s a huge machine behind it.” “Here science and magic exist together. I doubt our science would impress you much, but we’ve made astounding strides in magic.” “I noticed you didn’t seem all that surprised when I told you I was from another dimension.” “Many years ago my adopted sister and I traveled to another dimension via a magic mirror.” “Amazing!” Sunrunner exclaimed. “I’ll be right back.” Spike called as he went upstairs. As she waited she looked around. She took down several books and studied them. Although the translator program made each word perfectly understandable she was unable to comprehend any of it. “Magic spells?” she wondered. A few minutes later Spike came back down, carrying a small suitcase. “Even though I have a room at the palace, I don’t keep anything there.” he explained. “I don’t understand your customs, but what your wearing seems a bit informal to visit the ruler of this land.” “Like I said, she is my mother. We’ve never stood on ceremony.” “I’m a little surprised she didn’t make you a prince.” “Here only alicorns or those who marry alicorns rule. Besides, I was never really interested in that kind of thing.” “Alicorn?” “Err… it’s a little difficult to explain. Basically there are four types of ponies who live on Equestria. Earth ponies, who basically look like the stallion who escorted you here. Pegasus, who have large wings. Unicorns who have horns growing from there foreheads and finally alicorns who have wings and a horn.” Sunrunner nodded. Her feelings were mixed about what he’d told her. Any drake from her home world married for power. Although it would have to be a pretty pathetic dragon who would allow her mate to hold more than token authority. She wasn’t sure why but the idea that this young drake cared nothing for such things was refreshing. “This “Princess Celestia” seems strangely generous for a ruler. Any leader from my world would force others to accept their adopted child as their heir no matter who it angered.” she thought This princess was strangely intriguing as well. “Formal!” Spike exclaimed in disgust. “Perhaps you’d like to wear something a little more formal to your meeting?” Sunrunner considered. Obviously the natives weren’t going to attack her, so it would probably be beneficial to wear something more presentable. “Sounds like a good idea.” she replied “Great! Let’s get you a new dress” Suddenly a look of intense panic swept over Spike’s face. “Is something wrong?” she asked. “Err… Nothing… Nothing important. Let’s go.” “Obviously he’s nervous about something.” she thought. “Must have something to do with the dressmaker.” They headed down the street. Although the ponies they passed looked at them in wonder none showed any fear. Sunrunner was impressed by their calm acceptance of her presence. From Spike’s reaction at the mention of the dressmaker, she’d been half expecting some type of horrid creature to be manning (ponying?) the store. It turned out to be a female unicorn instead. She was about five and a half feet tall, had long elaborately coiffured purple hair, piercing blue eyes, gleaming white fur and a long purple tail. She had a long white horn growing from her forehead. She was wearing a gorgeous glittering purple dress that complemented her large full breasts and curvaceous figure. Like the others she’d met the unicorn seemed startled by her appearance. Sunrunner sensed some other emotion as well. “Could it be dismay?” she wondered. “Oh S… Spike.’ the unicorn stuttered. “Who… who’s your pretty companion?” “Rar… Rarity this is Sunrunner. Sunrunner is from another dimension. She’s here to establish diplomatic relations with the princesses. Sunrunner meet Rarity, Equestria’s premiere tailor and dressmaker.” “Spike exaggerates, but I am rather well known.” Rarity replied, holding out her hand. “Nice to meet you.” Rarity continued. Remembering the way Spike had kissed her hand, Sunrunner took Rarity’s hand and kissed the back of it . Both Spike and Rarity looked rather uncomfortable when she did this. Rarity glanced sharply at Spike’s reaction and chuckled. “I see that Spike’s been unusually gallant. This is the way you greet someone who’s only a casual acquaintance.” Rarity took the dragon’s hand and shook it slowly and firmly. “Umm, anyway, since she’s going to visit the princesses I thought she should wear something formal.” Spike said. “Oh my darling.” the unicorn said looking over Sunrunner’s uniform in disgust. “I simply must design something more appropriate.” “Remember, we don’t have all week.” Spike stated. “I simply hate to be rushed, but I suppose you’re right. Don’t worry this shouldn’t take more than a couple hours.” Rarity replied. “Since she’ll be a while why don’t I introduce you to my friends?” Spike said. “I’d like that.” Sunrunner replied. “By the way why did you kiss my hand like that?” “Err… that is… I… that’s the way a male greets a female who he would like to know better.” he stuttered. She smiled warmly at him. “You wish to have sex with me?” she asked. Spike was so flummoxed he couldn’t even reply. “You’re very handsome. I wouldn’t mind.” Sunrunner continued, rubbing her luscious body against him.. Sunrunner wasn’t the type to hesitate. When she saw something she wanted she took it. Finally after what seemed like hours Spike finally spoke. “As… as much as I’d enjoy that, how about we go out on a couple of dates first?” “Why?” “Don’t you think we should become friends first, see if we’re compatible, maybe even fall in love?” “All that just for a roll in the hay?” she asked doubtfully. “Well, err, I hope you don’t mind but I was kind of hoping we could have a more serious relationship.” “You mean you wish to marry me?” “Eventually I suppose. Let’s start with dating first and see where that leads.” Spike replied. Sunrunner was beginning to realize she didn’t know anything at all about relationships. Her mother’s marriage had been loveless. Her father had been an indolent bastard who only cared about the luxuries he could wheedle out of her mother. They arrived at a large building that looked like it had been made out of baked goods. “Is such a thing possible with magic?” she wondered. Somehow that seemed like it was a little overboard. These ponies didn’t appear as if they enjoyed flaunting their magic. They entered the building and Sunrunner saw that it was a bakery. Standing behind the counter was a brilliant pink filly with a wild mass of dark pink hair and tail. She was slightly taller than Rarity, had large breasts and was pleasingly plump. She had blue eyes which seemed full of laughter and warmth. She wore a pink blouse and skirt. “Oh wow!” she cried when she saw Sunrunner. “A newcomer. Welcome to Ponyville.” She rushed forward and hugged the dragon. “That means we get to have a newcomer party.” she continued. She bounced up and down making a boinging noise. “How is she doing that? Magic?” Sunrunner asked herself. “Sorry Pinkie. I’m afraid we’re not going to be here that long. We’ve got important business.” “Awww. Well, let me know when you come back this way and we’ll have the bestest party you’ve ever seen.” “Pinkie Pie this is Sunrunner. Sunrunner this Pinky Pie, supreme party planner and baker’s assistant.” “Don’t forget all around fun pony.” she commented, producing some confetti and balloons out of nowhere and throwing them up in the air. “Sunni let me give you some advice. Give Spike a chance, you won’t be sorry.” she said. “What? But how…?” Sunrunner sputtered. Spike just shook his head. “Don’t try to figure it out, it’ll just give you a headache.” he said. “Hate to run Pinkie, but I want her to meet the others before we leave.” “See ya later, alligator.” she said, pulling small toothless alligator out of her hair and placing it on top of her head. “After awhile, crocodile.” he replied. Next they headed through a market to a stall. The pony there was selling apples and apple based goods. “Applejack this is Sunrunner, she’s visiting from another dimension. Sunrunner this is Applejack, best apple farmer on the planet.” “Pleased to meet y’all.” she replied shaking the dragoness’s hand. “Don’t let him kid you none. Still my apples are mighty good. Want one?” As Sunrunner ate the apple she studied the pony. Applejack was about five feet eight inches tall. She had long blonde hair and tail. She had tan, freckled fur. Her green eyes sparkled with warmth. She had large firm breasts and was quite muscular. She was wearing a plaid shirt, tan vest, blue jeans and a large hat. “She’s almighty sexy, Spike. You ask her out yet?” she inquired. “Yes.” he mumbled. “Reckon you can’t do no better than my friend Spike here.” she told Sunrunner. “I’ll keep than in mind.” the dragoness replied. As they headed onward she felt a rush of wind which meant that something had just swooped right over her head. Instantly she crouched and her two inch long retractable claws sprang out. “Are there dangerous predators here after all?” she wondered, trying to focus on the oncoming threat. A cyan blue pony landed several feet away and head up her hands in what appeared to be a peaceful gesture. “Remind me to never sneak up on a dragon.” she commented. Nervously eyeing Sunrunner’s long sharp claws. The dragoness slowly relaxed, retracted her claws and studied the pony. She was about five feet nine inches tall. She had short rainbow colored hair and tail. “Was that her natural color?” Sunrunner wondered. She supposed that in a world where magic existed anything was possible. She had pink eyes and small, perfectly formed breasts. She had two large blue wings growing from her back. She was wearing what looked like a blue track suit. Sunrunner was confused. How could four such different species exist simultaneously on one world? And why did they look so much alike? She would have thought that something with such a long sharp horn like an unicorn would appear more predatory. How come a being like a Pegasus which had wings didn’t look more birdlike? “Perhaps the existence of magic shaped evolution on this world.” she concluded. “Sorry, she didn’t mean to startle you.” Spike said. “Rainbow Dash, this is Sunrunner. She’s here to meet with the princesses. Sunrunner, this is Rainbow Dash fastest pony on Equestria.” “Don’t forget awesomest pony alive.” she replied. “Great to meet you. Any friend of Spike‘s is a friend of mine.” she said, striding forward and shaking the dragoness’s hand. “Very nice Spike, you da man!” she commented. Spike looked embarrassed. “Why does everyone assume we’re a couple?” Sunrunner asked herself. “Is it just because we’re both dragons?” “Well see ya later. I got a race to fly.” the pony said, then took off. They continued walking until they were outside of town. A few minutes later they came on an isolated cottage. “Would you mind waiting here? My friend is very shy. When I first began to mature it took her nearly a year before she was even able to talk to me without hiding behind something.” Spike said. “Of course.” Sunrunner replied. Spike went up to the door of the cottage and knocked. The pony who answered seemed pleased to see him. Then she noticed Sunrunner standing outside. With a squeak she ran into the house. Spike spoke with her a few minutes and she finally peered bashfully out the door. Since it appeared that Sunrunner wasn’t about to swoop down and eat her she slowly emerged. Trying her best to hide behind Spike she slowly approached the dragoness. “Fluttershy this is Sunrunner a very nice dragoness who’s come to visit us. Sunrunner this is Fluttershy, Ponyville’s top animal tamer and pet sitter.” Sunrunner had a hard time believing that someone so shy would be so good at taming animals. “Maybe it’s another type of magic?” she thought. “ I told you before I don’t tame them, I become friends with them.” the pony objected. “Fluttershy, Twilight told me how you stared down one of the biggest most viscous dragons in all Equestria.” Spike commented. Fluttershy just looked extremely uncomfortable at this praise. Sunrunner studied the pony in amazement. She was about five feet tall, had long straight pink hair and tail. Her hair hung down over her face as if she was trying to hide behind it. She had light yellow fur and blue eyes. The pony had two large light yellow wings growing from her back. She had the largest breasts of any female she’d ever seen. She wore a long green sweater that came down to her knees. Sunrunner was very attracted to her. She was the most adorable, the sexiest pony she’d yet seen. Just looking at the pony made Sunrunner want to do whatever she asked. Sunrunner shivered. Truly this was the most dangerous female she’d ever met. “How… how do you do?” Fluttershy asked quietly. “Fine. Pleased to meet you.” Sunrunner replied, doing her best to hide her confusion. As if sensing her effect on Sunrunner, Fluttershy stepped out from behind Spike. “I’m glad Spike’s finally met another dragon he can talk to.” the pony commented, smiling warmly at the dragoness. Sunrunner thought she was going to melt. “If you ever need any help just ask.” Fluttershy continued. “I will.” Sunrunner replied. “Someday I may need your help as well.” Fluttershy nodded. After talking with Fluttershy for a few minutes they headed back to Ponyville. When they entered the dress shop, Rarity hurried forward. “Just in time. I just finished the dress.” she said. “Try it on and see if it fits.” Sunrunner headed back to a curtained alcove and tried on the dress. It was a shimmering silver color and it fit perfectly, accentuating and revealing her curvaceous body. “It’s beautiful.” Sunrunner exclaimed, stepping out of the fitting room. Spike was stunned by her transformation. The dragoness seemed like she was twice as sexy as before. Seeing Spike’s reaction, Rarity smiled bitterly. Sunrunner sensed that the pony had some kind of feelings for the handsome drake. Coming out of his daze, Spike looked at his watch. “Perfect timing. The train to Canterlot will be here in fifteen minutes. Thank a lot Rarity. How much do I owe you?” “It’s on the house for our special guest. It’s not everyday that we get a visitor from another dimension.” “Thank you so much.” Sunrunner replied. “See you later.” Spike said as they left. “Good Bye.” Rarity whispered sadly. “She seems very generous.” Sunrunner commented as they walked towards the train station.. “She should. She’s the embodiment of the Element of Generosity.” Spike replied. “What do you mean?” “There are six ancient magical relics known as The Elements of Harmony. Each relic represents a different element of harmony. Generosity, laughter, loyalty, kindness. honesty and magic. You met five of the element bearers today. United the elements have the power to defeat any evil that threatens Equestria.” “Sounds like a very powerful weapon.” Sunrunner said. “Weapon? Well, I never really thought of them that way, but I suppose you’re right.” “I have a question. Why are they named after character qualities?” “Only someone unusually generous can use the Element of Generosity and so forth.” Spike answered. “With a weapon that powerful Princess Celesia must rule all of Equestria.” “Not at all. The princess is very powerful in her own right but it’s because she’s kind and caring that the rulers of the other lands look up to her.” Sunrunner was stunned by Spike’s reply. They arrived at the train station and a few minutes later the train pulled up. The two of them got on board and sat by one of the windows. Sunrunner admired the countryside as they traveled. Spike and she spoke on a variety of subjects. As they spoke the dragoness became more and more impressed by Spike’s personality. She’d never met anyone like him. Truthfully he seemed to be the opposite of the males she’d had sex with in the past. Something deep inside her was draw to him. Not just as a sex object but as a person. Several hours later they entered the outskirts of a large city. The buildings were so ornate that it seemed more like a movie set rather than an actual place people lived. Once again Sunrunner was impressed. Not only was Equestria prosperous but Princess Celestia was generous enough to share her prosperity with her people. “Welcome to Canterlot, capital of Equestria.” Spike stated. Seeing that their destination was rapidly approaching, Sunrunner leaned over and passionately kissed Spike. After a few moments Spike eagerly returned her kiss. Finally after what seemed like hours they broke their embrace. “What… what was that for?” Spike asked hoarsely. “I believe that is the traditional reward for a successful date.” she replied. “I’m glad you had a good time.” Spike looked like he was beginning to regret not taking her up on her offer of sex. Sunrunner smiled inwardly. This “dating” was proving to be a much more rewarding experience than she’d guessed. A small squad of white stallions dressed in gold armor waited at the station. Sunrunner guessed it was an honor guard. The stallions escorted them through the city. As they walked Sunrunner looked around in amazement. Wherever she looked large white clouds situated strategically over waterfalls. poured down what appeared to be liquid rainbows. The rainbows splashed into rainbow colored pools of water. What was obviously an expert landscape designer had terraformed the entire area so as to create beautiful vistas wherever the eye rested. Apparently they did go for ostentatious shows of magic here. “Celestia must be incredibly powerful to create such a display.” Sunrunner thought. They came to a huge palace. If ever there was a fairy tale palace, this was it. It was the most elaborate, the most ornate building she had ever witnessed. Standing in front of the palace were three gorgeous ponies dressed in royal regalia. “Sunrunner I’d like to introduce you to the rulers of Equestria. Princess Celestia, Princess Luna and Princess Twilight .” Spike said stepping forward. “Princesses, this is Sunrunner.” Celestia was at least seven feet tall. She had pastel blue, green, purple and pink striped hair and tail. Her hair seemed to have stars sprinkled in it and was waving in a nonexistent breeze. She had white fur and purple eyes. A long white horn grew from her forehead and two large white wings grew from her back. The princess had extraordinarily large firm breasts and a luscious figure. She was wearing a white dress with gold trim and a large gold torc with a diamond shaped purple jewel embedded in it. Her crown was also gold with a purple gem. Luna was about five and a half feet tall. She had dark blue fur. Her light blue hair and tail twinkled as if stars were trapped there. Unlike most unicorns, her horn was jet black. He blue eyes glowed in the light. She had full, firm breasts. Her figure was wonderfully feminine. Two large black wings grew from her back. She wore a dark blue dress and a darker blue torc with a crescent moon emblazoned on it. Her crown was jet black with a white crescent moon inlayed on it. Twilight was slightly taller than Luna. Her hair was dark purple. She wore it in a kind of page boy style. A brilliant purple and pink stripe ran through her hair. She had a long white unicorn horn. Her fur was lavender. Her breasts were large and her figure sumptuous. She wore a form fitting green dress with a deeply plunging necklace which showed off her cleavage. She had a long purple tail which also had a bright purple and pink stripe running through it. Her torc as well as her crown had a pink star shaped gem set in it. Sunrunner sensed immense power radiating from these three ponies. She’s have to be extremely careful. “Welcome to Equestria.” Princess Celestia intoned. “Spike’s letter said you are here from another dimension?” “Yes, my queen, Queen Solar Flare wants to establish diplomatic relations with you. Also she‘d like to find out what kind of resources you have and what you would be willing to trade for them.” Sunrunner replied. “I always enjoy becoming friends with new people. Twilight would be best suited for discovering what we could trade with you.” Celestia said. The four of them exchanged pleasantries for awhile then Princess Twilight took her to a meeting room followed by Spike. Here Sunrunner and Twilight examined their respective planets resources. “Do you mind if I’m blunt, Sunrunner?” Twilight asked after they had spoken for a few minutes “Of course.” “I believe that only someone extremely desperate would possibly conceive of such a dangerous plan as traveling between dimension. Which can only mean that your country’s or perhaps your entire world’s resources are running low.” This pony was even more dangerous than Sunrunner had imagined! To discover the truth armed with only the barest of clues. Sunrunner nodded cautiously. “To be honest with you I’m not sure how much we can help you out. I’d imagine a highly technological world like yours would need millions of tons of resources. At best, even after setting up a supply line I can’t possibly see providing you with much more than a couple thousand tons a year. I hope that you’ll agree with me when I say that food has to be our number one priority. Of course you understand we’re vegetarians so we can only provide vegetables. Still, it should help keep your people from starving.” Twilight’s ideas were incisive and to the point and Sunrunner thought they made total sense. “And how much will this cost us?” Sunrunner asked. “Call it… good will. Perhaps someday we may need your help. I hope that you don’t think I’m too naïve when I say that I hope that this will eventually lead to friendship between our peoples.” Sunrunner was stunned by such generosity. Finally the dragoness spoke. “I will inform my queen of your kind offer.” “Very well.” Twilight replied. “Come, the other princesses wish to welcome you with a feast.” Sunrunner and Spike followed the princess to the royal dining room. As with everything else in the palace the room was elaborately decorated and exquisitely designed. Soon a lavish feast was set out. Much to Sunrunner’s dismay even though the dishes were all elegantly prepared and presented, there wasn’t a single piece of meat anywhere to be seen. She sighed inwardly and dug in. Still, she did enjoy an occasional salad. Sunrunner arose early the next morning. Spike had asked to meet her the night before. He was waiting for her outside her room. “This better be worth it.” Sunrunner yawned. “You’ll see.” he replied, smiling mysteriously. He lead her through the palace to a large balcony. Standing near the edge of the balcony was Princess Celestia. Something about her stance reminded the dragoness of a orchestra conductor. She raised her hand elegantly and gestured at the still dark eastern sky. Swiftly the sky paled as dawn approached. Slowly the light increased causing a spectacular display of roseate colors to fill the eastern sky. Then the sun rose looking like a large red ball. Within moments the sun was too bright to even look at. Princess Celestia looked quite pleased with herself. “Did… did she just make the sun rise?” Sunrunner asked. Spike nodded. “Besides ruling Equestria , that’s been the Princess’ duty for thousands of years. At night Princess Luna directs the stars and the moon.” he stated. “Tho…thousands?” Sunrunner stuttered. To say that Sunrunner was flabbergasted was an understatement. How could such a thing even be possible? Was she looking at a goddess? Were the stars and suns in this dimension merely small orbs of gas to be so casually directed? Or did the princesses actually control the rotation of the planet? Sunrunner stayed for a week. She could have easily left the next day. She was enjoying her dates with Spike too much to dash off. Every day she found herself more and more charmed by Spike‘s kind, caring and generous nature. Night had fallen and the two dragons sat on the uppermost terrace enjoying the starlit sky as well as each others company. As they watched the moon slowly rose bathing the land below with a soft radiant glow. Neither of them spoke merely held hands. Sunrunner felt a strange, warm sensation fill her as she gazed at Spike. It was something she’d never felt before. “Is this love?” she asked herself. After breakfast Sunrunner prepared to leave. She stood before Spike unsure of what to say. Finally she inwardly shrugged and kissed him deeply. Leaving the flustered drake standing there stunned, she walked away. “No matter what I will return, my handsome friend.” she whispered. Outside the palace stood the three princesses, waiting to see her off. “It’s been a pleasure meeting you.” Princess Celestia said. “Even though we’ve known each other for such a short period of time I hope I can consider you my friend.” Ever since she’d first met the princess Sunrunner had felt a mysterious connection with her. “Yes. I’d like that.” Sunrunner replied. She then curtsied and said. “Until we meet again.” “Until we meet again.” the princesses replied. Sunrunner produced a small device. She turned it on and it made a soft whirring noise. Shortly thereafter a portal appeared and the dragoness stepped though it. The portal vanished just as quickly as it had appeared. ****** “Report.” General Diamond Cut commanded sternly. Diamond Cut was a jet black dragoness with blue plates. She had green eyes and small perfectly formed breasts. She was very muscular. She was wearing a military outfit that showed off her lean form wonderfully. As head of the Draconian military she reported directly to the queen. Sunrunner told her all she had learned. “Conclusion?” the general barked. Sunrunner looked up surprised, it wasn’t like the general to seek other dragon’s advice. “You were there. I’ve found it advisable to listen to those with the most knowledge.” Diamond Cut explained. Sunrunner understood exactly how the general thought, although she didn’t agree with that type of thinking. “An invasion would be extremely ill advised, ma’am.” Sunrunner said. “To me Princess Twilight’s plan seems more than generous.” “You don’t believe we could steal and use this weapon?” the general asked. “To be blunt, ma’am, Dragons aren’t well known for their generosity, kindness, humor or magic.” “I’m not so sure about that.” the general muttered, giving Sunrunner a piercing stare. Sunrunner did her best to look vicious . “You’re naïve if you’re unwilling to believe that these “Ponies” don’t have an ulterior motive.” Diamond Cut continued. “It’s not like they can invade us.” Sunrunner objected. “There are many types of servitude, soldier. I shall take your recommendation under advisement. You’re dismissed.” “Will I be returning to Equestria, ma’am?” Sunrunner asked. “We’ll see.” the general said. Sunrunner was deeply troubled. Surely the general wasn’t stupid enough to invade Equestria? She headed home her thoughts filled with the beautiful land of Equestria and more specifically a handsome green and purple drake. The next day seemed excruciatingly boring after her trip. She sat around her office doing nothing. Finally after what seemed like ages lunch arrived. She stared down at the plate full of raw gobbets of bloody meat in wry amusement. She was really going to miss eating meat when she moved to Equestria. As she headed back to her office she passed by the general’s office. She couldn’t help noticing a snow white dragon with blood red eyes slipping into Diamond Cut’s office. Full of curiosity she headed over to the general’s secretary. The secretary was a luscious lovely who she’d had sex with a number of times. “Who was that, honey?” Sunrunner asked the secretary. The secretary looked around cautiously. Seeing that there was no one nearby, she leaned forward and whispered. “No one knows her real name but they call her The White Death. She’s rumored to be Draconia’s number one assassin.” “Thanks a lot, dear.” Sunrunner replied. “Tonight, my place?” the secretary asked. “Sorry sugar but I’ve got something very important to do. But I’ll take a rain check on that.” “I can hardly wait.” the secretary replied, smiling seductively at Sunrunner. Sunrunner’s mind whirled as she strode quickly out of the military complex. She knew exactly what the general was planning. She also knew that there was only one way to stop it. She’d have to do the one thing that she swore she’d never do. She’d have to appeal to her mother. Sunrunner strode up to the palace wearing the dress Rarity had given her. “Princess Sunrunner here to see the queen.” she told the guards holding up her credentials. The guards quickly admitted her and she headed for the throne room. After seeing Celestia’s palace, Solar Flare’s palace seemed relentlessly stark and severe. The rulers of Draconia had never been one’s for ostentation. Sitting on her throne was her mother, Queen Solar Flare. She was bright yellow with gold plates. Although she was in her fifties she was still quite beautiful. She wore a regal purple dress trimmed with gold. The queen dismissed everyone in the room when she saw her daughter. “Ah my dear, decided to finally visit your lonely old mother?” the queen said. “You know why I don’t come here, mother.” “Yes, you don’t want to be a princess. Such a disappointment.” “Mom!” Sunrunner was suddenly aware that she was whining. “Sorry dear. You know I’m proud of you and there are lots of times I wish I’d never become queen.” “You know you enjoy it.” Sunrunner replied smiling. Solar Flare descended from the throne and hugged her daughter. A moment or so later a gorgeous blue dragoness with jet black plates rushed into the throne room. It was Sunrunner’s twin sister, Princess Moonstrike. “I heard my sister’s here.” Moonstrike panted. “Sis!” Sunrunner cried, embracing her sister. After a touching reunion, Solar Flare spoke. “I know you wouldn’t come here if it wasn’t something urgent.” Sunrunner quickly explained what had happened. “Assassinate the leaders of this other world? It sounds like a perfectly good plan to me.” the queen observed. “I’ve always trusted Diamond Cut. I don‘t see any reason to change that now” “Please mother.” Sunrunner pleaded. “Don’t you see this is the kind of thinking that got us into trouble in the first place. Barely any food, fuel, steel or plastic all because of this stupid war with the Wyrms.” “We need resources. Taking over this planet and developing it seems like the simplest plan to me.” the queen said. “It’ll waste resources. The ponies may not be vicious but they’re tough. They’ll never surrender.” Sunrunner commented. “It sounds like a lovely place full of kind, decent people.” Princess Moonstrike said. “It’d be a shame to ruin it.” The queen sighed. “I’m too old. You young ones just want peace. My every instinct cries for battle. But maybe you’re right, maybe that’s the attitude that’s caused all our woes.” The queen thought for awhile. “But what about the Wyrms? If we don’t do something soon they’ll overrun us.” she continued. “They’re just as exhausted, just as low on resources as we are. I’m sure their just as tired of this war as we are. Let’s send an ambassador with a peace offering.” Sunrunner advised. The queen was quiet for awhile then nodded. “Very well. I shall take your advice.” She then turned to Moonstrike. “My dear, would you mind summoning Diamond Cut?” Looking elated, Princess Moonstrike ran out of the room. An hour or so later General Diamond Cut strode into the room. When she saw Sunrunner standing next to her mother she hissed angrily. From the look on the general’s face, Sunrunner was sure she wanted to tear her to pieces. Diamond Cut probably would have too if her mother hadn’t been sitting right there. “I want you to cancel your plan to assassinate the leaders of Equestria.” the queen commanded. Looking frightened, the general abased herself. “I… I’m sorry your highness, the assassin left an hour ago.” she stuttered. “You took such an important matter into your own hands?” Solar Flare growled. “You… you never questioned my judgment before, your highness.” “I agreed to this project of your’s because I considered this to be a matter of national importance. I and I alone decide all matters relating to foreign relations.” the queen spat out. “I have overstepped my authority. Please forgive me.” the general said. “You have been more than loyal to me in the past. I’m willing to forgive you this one time..” The queen descended from the throne and strode regally over to the cowering Diamond Cut. Her long sharp claws sprang out and she pressed one gently to the general’s throat. “Don’t let it happen again.” Solar Flare whispered menacingly. “I swear your highness.” the general croaked. Looking satisfied, the queen retracted her claws and returned to her throne. “Mom?!” Sunrunner exclaimed. “Go quickly my dear. Save your friends. And honey? I expect to meet this drake you think so highly of quite soon.” “You will, mother.” Sunrunner replied, kissing the queen and racing from the room. Standing outside the door was Princess Moonstrike. “I hope you can visit us soon, my darling.” Sunrunner said, kissing her passionately. “I will, dear one.” Moonstrike murmured tenderly, then returned her kiss. Half an hour later Sunrunner was standing impatiently in the portal room waiting for the machine to activate. ****** A white ghost like figure drifted through Princess Celestia’s chamber. It was the middle of the night. The figure studied the sleeping figure lying in the bed then nodded satisfied. She drifted over to the bed, and made a gesture with her hand, A hidden blade located in the vambrace on her wrist sprang out. She stabbed down at the sleeping figure’s heart with a quick decisive blow. The sleeping figure vanished in a puff of smoke and transparent pink walls appeared all around the assassin. “Good thing you don’t have any experience with magic.” Princess Twilight commented as she appeared out of thin air. The white dragon just glared at her. “Please forgive me.” Sunrunner said kneeling before the three princesses. “I never wanted this to happen. My queen sends her personal reassurance that this was done without her knowledge.” “We forgive you, rise.” Princess Celestia said. “From this day forth let the spirit of cooperation and friendship unite our peoples.” “It will. You have my guarantee.” Sunrunner stated firmly. “Do… do you forgive me Spike?” Sunrunner asked nervously. She hadn’t been this nervous since the day she first faced her drill instructor during battle training. “Of course I do.” he said, smiling warmly. “From what you’ve said you’re the reason my friends are still alive.” Seeing the skeptical look on Sunrunner’s face, Spike took her hand and lead her to his room in the palace. Standing before the door Spike spoke. “Do you love me?” he asked. “I do.” Sunrunner had made up her mind even before she’d left for Draconia. “I love you too. Will you marry me?” Spike produced a large diamond ring and held it out to her. “I will.” Spike placed the ring on her finger, opened the door and carried her over the threshold. The door then shut behind them. LATER “What are we going to do with her?” Twilight asked, gesturing at the angry dragoness standing in the cell before them. ”I’m afraid we’ve got no choice. We’re going to have to send for Pinkie Pie.” Princess Celestia replied. Princess Twilight shuddered. Although Spike would never admit it to his wife, the nights Moonstrike visited them were twice as wonderful as his wedding night. “She’s very beautiful.” Sunrunner observed. Over in the corner Rarity was doing her best to ignore them as the Grand Galloping Gala got into full swing. “Not nearly as gorgeous as you.” Spike answered. “You’re sweet.” Sunrunner replied kissing him. “I think she loves you. You should ask her to marry us.” “Are you sure?” Spike asked nervously. “I don’t mind sharing her with you.” “Don’t you mean sharing me with her?” “Do I?” Sunrunner replied, smiling rapaciously. Spike chuckled apprehensively and headed over to Rarity. Sunrunner was enjoying having lunch with her sister-in-law Twilight. As they ate Twilight spoke. “You know, I’ve been thinking that it’s a really strange coincidence. The fact that you’re named Sunrunner and your sister’s Moonstrike, that is.” “What do you mean?” Sunnrunner inquired. “Princess Celestia is goddess of the sun and Princess Luna is goddess of the moon.” Sunrunner understood what Twilight was hinting. “Moonstrike’s always been into the whole princess thing, I never was. Not to mention the fact that I’ve never felt the least bit godlike” the dragoness objected. “If you consider the fact that there’s an infinite number of dimensions. I’m sure that there’s a dimension out there somewhere where Princess Luna’s just an ordinary pony who’s in charge of Equestria and Celestia’s out gallivanting to her heart’s desire.” Sunrunner had to admit she did feel a strange connection to the beautiful sun goddess. Still it was just a theory. “Think I could learn magic?” the dragon asked facetiously. “Only one way to find out.” Twilight said. An extraordinarily handsome purple furred stallion with green hair and tail stepped out of a portal that had appeared outside Ponyville. His name was Barbed Wire. Spotting the distant road he headed for it. THE END
