This is the story of that rift, and the devastating effects it had on the two, and upon their subjects. It is the story of the Lunar War, and the brave ponies who gave everything in a fight that most others were never aware even happened, let alone why. It is the story of a powerful love lost, and the shockwaves sent across Equestria when its two most powerful hearts are shattered.
It is also, in an extremely roundabout way, an origin story for Somber Star, a child of two of Luna's generals, and the tale of his first adventure in the Dreamscape Luna left unattended.
