Applejack finished unloading the seed samples and leaflets from her saddlebags and collapsed onto her bed with a sigh, glad for the comfort of the soft sheets and sinking mattress, The pillow felt cool under her hot head and she closed her eyes, thinking back upon the bustle of the last few days.
The farmers' conference was a great way for Apple family members and other ponies to meet up and discuss business, sell produce and advertise. But after three days, the rush and stress of the whole event had been starting to get to Applejack. She'd needed to relax; to get home.
Now she was finally back, and she lazily removed her hat and placed it on the dark wood table beside her bed, letting the comforting smell of homemade apple pie and autumn wash over her like a cold shower on a warm day.
There really was, for Applejack, no place like home.
She closed her eyes and let the exhaustion of travelling overcome her. After the busy day she'd had, a nap on this October afternoon would be just what she needed, followed by a good old-fashioned Apple family dinner.
A cool but pleasant breeze washed over her and Applejack smiled; it only added to her good mood. However, she now had an annoying nagging thought in the back of her mind that something wasn't right. She wasn't normally a forgetful pony, so ...
Now she remembered.
She hadn't opened the window.
Cautiously, she cracked open one eye and gazed at the window. The fact wasn't that it was open, because the wind was comforting, but the fact that somepony else had opened it.
Somepony was in the room with her.
She whipped her head around quickly to find a smirking pegasus pony lazily hovering int he air beside her bed.
"I thought I sensed somepony else. Of course it was you," AJ quipped, smiling at the sight of her marefriend.
"Did you miss me?" asked Rainbow Dash, landing on the bed beside Applejack and throwing a hoof around her.
"Of course I did, sugarcube," Applejack said.
"How was your trip?"
"It was mighty good. Business is better than ever, and we got some new seeds that I just can't wait to plant. How's Ponyville been holding up these past few days?" Applejack asked, wondering what her friends had been up to.
"Sounds great. Eh, the usual. Twilight read books, Rarity made dresses, Fluttershy took care of animals and Pinkie Pie was Pinkie Pie," Dash finished with a chuckle.
"And yourself? What has the awesome Rainbow Dash been occupying herself with these past few days?" Applejack asked humoring her marefriend and chuckling inwardly at the way her feathers fluffed up proudly at what Applejack had said.
"I've been missing you," Rainbow Dash said with a charming smirk.
AJ burst out laughing. Rainbow loved the way her marefriend laughed, a hearty chuckle that made Dash think of good times, a warm fire and safety.
"Smooth, Rainbow," Applejack said as soon as she recovered from her laughing fit.
They sat there, content, for a few minutes, Dash's hoof around AJ's shoulder and AJ taking in Dash's scent- fresh rain, storm clouds, tangy Rainbow and a surprisingly pleasant mild hint of sweat. It was a scent Applejack had missed.
After a while Dash slowly began snuggling up to Applejack's side, drawing them closer and closer together. AJ held in laughter caused by the tickling sensation of Dash's feathers brushing her side.
Rainbow Dash brought her mouth to Applejack's neck, biting softly. She surprised Applejack and gained a moan out of her, something she'd clearly been aiming to achieve, judging by the smile on her face.
Applejack chuckled, "Looks like somepony wants something."
Dash stared at her marefriend, unblinking.
"Well, you know darn well that we have to ask for the things we want, otherwise we just ain't getting them, now, are we?" Applejack drew closer to Dash matching her heated stare with a satisfied grin on her face.
Rainbow Dash swallowed eagerly. Over these past few days she'd missed Applejack greatly - missed having her around certainly, but she'd also missed the fact that at night, she was alone, with no Applejack to cuddle with and... do other stuff.

Applejack grunted in pleasure, trying to resist diving down onto Rainbow Dash's mouth and devouring her marefriend. "I guess I need to return the favor then." Rainbow Dash grinned.

They stood up, folding the sheets back together neatly and straightening the pillows from where they had messed them up due to their earlier escapades. Rainbow Dash ran a hoof through her mane, feeling it sticking to her neck slightly with dried sweat. She grimaced and made a mental note to wash it later when she got back home.
Applejack placed her hat on her head and fixed it into position in front of her small mirror, nodding in satisfaction at her still disgruntled appearance.
"Hey, won't your brother and Granny Smith wonder how I got into your bedroom without coming in through the front of the house?" Rainbow realized, stopping dead in her tracks as they made their way to exit the room.
Applejack laughed. "You really think that they haven' heard us makin' this racket?"
Rainbow's face turned tomato red.
"AJ, we can't go downstairs now!" she protested.
Applejack smirked and grabbed Rainbow's tail, pulling he rout the room, much to her marefriend's chagrin.
"AJ!" she whined.
Applejack nuzzled her. "What are you, chicken?" There was a hint of a challenge in her voice that RD just couldn't resist.
"Me? In your dreams, my little farmpony!" she trotted down the stairs.
"i told you not to call em that, darnit!" Applejack protested, following her down the stairs but still grinning.
Sometimes it was nice to get away and relax, but you always returned home - to the ones who loved you.
