This is the story of a young Pegasus named Zenith Spark. We're going to follow him through some of the defining moments of his life, but let's start were it all began.
Zenith was born in Cloudsdale, the first born to two weather Pegasi, and they were very proud of him, but there was something odd about Zenith as a colt you see..
When Zenith was a young colt he was afraid of heights, and the other Pegasi fillies bullied him for it, but that only made his determination stronger "I'm gonna fly one day you all see!" he said crying hard.
He trained every day to get over it, looking over the edge of the clouds, he felt the anxiety growing inside him, as he saw how far down it was down to the ground, "Who am I fooling? I'll never fly." He sighed backing off from the edge.
A few days later he was back where he started, but this time he was going to fly. "I won't go home until I fly!" he told himself,
he walked up the edge again and looked down, ignoring his growing anxiety, he backed up a few steps, gathering up his courage, before running towards the edge and jumping off it, thinking he was ready to fly, he started flapping his wings, getting some speed, but his small wings couldn't hold his weight against gravity, making him fall fast towards the ground.
He started to scream, thinking he would die, he screamed harder and just when he was a few hundred feets above the grounds, he closed his eyes, then just as suddenly as he started to fall, he stopped, confused and scared, he opened his eyes, seeing the silhouette of a pegasus, then the distinct colors of the Wonderbolts uniform, he broke down in tears, hugging the wonderbolt that saved his life, as she flew back to Cloudsdale, when they got back he saw his parents waiting for him,
He ran up to his parents, crying and hugging them. "Mommy, daddy I'm so sorry!" he cried tears flowing from his eyes.
The day after that, he was in his room, he was sitting close to the window watching the Wonderbolts flying over his house, he was leaning over further to get a better view, but this made him fall over the edge, in pure instinct he started flapping his wings. First it was slowing down his fall. Then before he knew it, he was hovering above the ground. Was he flying? He'd like to think so! Looking down on the ground, he didn't really understand what had happened until the initial shock had disappeared, then the happiness flowed into him, he really is flying! "I..I'm FLYING!" He screamed out in joy. He wanted to show the Wonderbolt that saved his life, but when he got to the academy, they told him she was out on foreign patrol, and a few days later, he overheard that she had died in a gruesome crash, making him thinking back to his own near-death experience, it was too much for the young fillies mind, breaking him down, he swore he would never fly again, that it is too dangerous, and he didn't.
Until fate played it's cruel joke on him once again. A few weeks after he learnt the fate of his saviour, Zenith was outside walking, he hadn't flown since that day, when he notices his sister, Autumn Blitz standing close to the edge of a bridge that connects Cloudsdale, with the smaller clouds in it's vicinity. Just as she bent over to look on a cloud, somepony pushed her over the edge, as she screamed his name he ran to the edge, screaming her name. He wanted to jump after her, but the trauma his mind suffered stopped him, he just couldn't fly. Even if it was to save his precious sister's life, then he heard her scream again, and this snapped him out of his fright.
He gathered up what little courage he had, closed his eyes and jumped of the edge. Feeling the wind flowing around him, spreading his wings and letting the wind grab them, he opens his eyes, trying to focus on the location of his sister. “SIS, WHERE ARE YOU?” He yells out, trying to pinpoint her location, then he sees her. She's about two thousand feets below him. He knew that unless he'd catch her quickly she would die. “Wings, please..don't fail me.” He says and shivers in fear, fear for his sisters life, fear for his own and the fact that it was the first time he'd fly himself while carrying another pony, what if his wings weren't strong enough? He shook his head. “No..I don't have time to hesistate, sis is counting on me!” He takes a deep breath as he starts moving his wings, feeling the rush of wind around him as he flies faster, the distance between brother and sister decreasing. “Zenith, Help me!” his sister calls out, seeing her brother get closer, but not fast enough the ground of Equestria were coming closer.
“I...I can't make it Autumn! I..I just can't s..save you!” he cries out, when suddenly he started getting a strange feeling in his gut. “Is the clouds moving slower?” He thinks as the clouds that flew past him in rapid speed seems to slide at at slow pace around him. “N..no it's not only the clouds...sis and me..we're not falling as fast as before..just what in the name of Celestia is going on?” Just as he finished that thought he realized that his sister was in hooves reach of him. “Sis...grab my hoof!” he calls out for her, streatching his hoof out to her.
“I..I can't reach you....bro..!” Autumn shouts back to him, trying to grab his hoof. As Zenith looks over past Autumn, he saw how close the ground was. “Autumn you have to grab my hoof NOW!” he yells out to her, pushing his wings to the max, just as they are a few hundred few above the ground, the sound of thunder echos in the area, even if the sky is clear and as the sound disappears the Pegasi in Cloudsdale can see a group of Wonderbolts flying towards the siblings.
Zenith hovers a few feet above the ground, holding his sister in his hooves. “ Autumn, are you alright answer me!” he yells to his unconsious sister. “P..please don't leave me...” he cries, tears rolling down
as a Wonderbolt pegasus flies up to him. “I'll take over now.” he says with a calm voice to the young colt as he takes the unconsious filly and puts a blanket over her and flies towards cloudsdale. “You've done well!” a female wonderbolt says to him as she puts a blanket over him. “W..will she be..” that's all he manages to say before he faints from exhaustion.
To be continued.
