Applejack

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Applejack trotted into the room. She was not crying, surprisingly. She was rather used to death, after the death of Big Mac and Granny Smith. AJ looked up from the floor at the princess and her lip curled in sadness.
"Applejack..." Celestia began.
"Princess, please, save your breath. I must speak to the both of you," Applejack said, fighting back the tears, making her voice croaky and unusually high-pitched."I cherished every day, and every night, of my life which was powered by you two. I just want to say, I will miss you, and that I would give anything to keep you here. But I understand that it is your time to leave, as it will one day be mine. So I give you this." Applejack paused at this, and opened her saddlebags. She pulled out a golden-skinned apple, or the purest colour which the princesses had ever seen."This apple has been passed down my family since the beginning. I bestow this to you, hoping that as you depart this world, you have the apple family trademark taste on your tongue." As she broke the apple in half, she remembered all the smiles that her ancestors had beamed as they passed the apple to their next of kin. She hoped that if they were watching, they agreed on her choice.
"Applejack... thank you so much... this means a lot to us..." Celestia began.
"We shall not forget you....ever." Luna gasped.
"Neither will I." Applejack said, her voice barely above a whisper, as to avoid sobbing, as she put her hat to her chest as a sign of respect, as she walked out. "Good bye, princess Celestia, princess Luna."
"Goodbye, applejack, Element of Honesty." Coughed Celestia.
