Chapter 5: Mamma mia! Here we go again!

The air was heavy and damp. The darkness was everywhere, no light was to be seen. Whispers were whispering in the shadows that surrounded her. Luna knew and remembered where she was. She started to panic. She had to get out. She could barely make out what the voices were saying, but certain fragments made sense.

"But... the baby?" said one.

"Two, two babies..." said another.

"Two hosts..." said a third.

Luna was scared. This was the very place that she became the monster, Nightmare Moon. Luna would have been terrified to come here any old day, but she felt queasy when she herd them talking about her child like that.

With tears streaming down her face, Luna said in a strong voice,"Leave my baby alone, you can take me, just...leave my child alone."

They started to laugh. All of them. Then Luna heard a scream. It sounded familiar. A white unicorn came bursting out of the shadows, her face soaked in mascara-stained tears. It was Rarity.

A few seconds earlier...

Rarity knew this place. How could she forget? Becoming a monster was a very hard thing to forget after all. She had remained clam, cool and collected. Then she heard the creatures starting to whisper. Well, Rarity was assuming they were creatures. It could be anything for all she knew. The voices were debating over her fate, and she was not liking what she was hearing. Something about her baby...or was it about her? Rarity was sitting, straining to her what the voices were saying when something hit her. It was very powerful, and came at her stomach in a cloud of purple, sparkly smoke. Rarity screamed, loud, blood-curdling scream as she felt, for a brief second, the most painful kind of pain known to pony kind. As soon as the pain ended, Rarity got up and ran as fast as she could into the strange, dark fog that surrounded her. She didn't know where she was going but, Rarity figured anything but here would be better.

Any where away from those creepy voices would be better, thought Rarity, still screaming at the top of her lungs.

Luna stared at Rarity in shock. Before Luna had time to comprehend why Rarity was in the Dreamscape, she was hit with a powerful, sparkly blue object. Luna was taken off her feet and thrown to the ground due to the forceful blue sphere. Luna was gasping for breath.

What the hell was that? she thought. The force was similar to that of which had turned her into Nightmare Moon, but it was defiantly not the same. There was something different about this new power, something softer. Whatever it was, it was making Luna's gut ache in an extremely powerful way.

"Now," hissed a voice,"We must bring our vessels to the King!"

Shit. Rarity and I are most certainly the vessels, thought Luna. She glanced over at Rarity who was now sitting, staring at the ground with tears trickling down her pearly white coat. Luna then looked over her shoulder and immediately regretted it. Behind her stood a shadowy figure dressed in a tattered black cloak. Luna was shaking with fear.

"Why bother bringing them to me if I'm already here." said a voice so cold yet so sly.

It sent a shiver up Luna's back.

"Ah, Luna! Long time no see! Oh stop your shaking its not that cold here!" he said with false enthusiasm as he walked around her, as though he was checking out a wagon for a scratch before purchase.

"Your in good health I see, good, good." he said moving on to Rarity.

"Oh stop your crying!" he said forcefully as he glared at Rarity. "Or else, we may have to let them have you," he said motioning to the fog that was circling around the three of them.

"Now it is time to go where no one will find you!" he said in a voice that suggested his hidden face was smirking.

No. This can't happen. Luna gathered all the strength she possessed, her horn started to glow a familiar blue as she started to get up off the ground.

"Don't try and pull any funny business on me Luna, I know all the tricks in the book." he said with the same tone.

Rarity, who was at her overall worst, looked up at Luna. Luna's face showed dedication, will and persistence. Rarity stopped crying and whimpering. This was defiantly not the time to loose her head.

She stood up, and fought threw the pain and calmly walked in front of Luna.

The alicorn stopped charging up her spell. What was Rarity thinking?

The King, who had his back turned, readying himself for Luna's attack, looked over his shoulder as he saw the two prisoners escaping, via teleportation. This was not expected. The Princess of the Night never just ran away! She always went down with a battle! Well, he thought, they are not getting away with out a scrape! He threw a powerful dark spell at the teleporting vessels. Now they'll have no way of getting any help, he thought smugly. Let them run, but they can't hide.

Moments later...

Celestia and Flash Sentry had been attempting to teleport to Rarity and Luna for the past hour but nothing seemed to work. Celestia felt the guilt from failure sink in her heart. She had failed her promise. Twice. Oh Luna, she thought.

"Luna!" she screamed.

Flash, whose muzzle was in a book about dark magic, looked up at the distressed ruler. As he got up to comfort her for the billionth time, a puff of smoke appeared in the center of the room. Celestia stood up, as her eyes took in the sight before her. The lifless bodies of Luna and Rarity lay on the grand table that they had all sat around, just a short time ago.

"Luna?" asked Celestia in a small voice, like her world had been crushed, put back together and then shattered.

"Lulu?"
