The Prayer: Melody

As Twilight made her way to the castle she began to hear a faint voice. The more she listened, the more it sounded like music.

No, that's singing. Twilight thought. As she reached the castle door she couldn't understand the words but the emotion behind each syllable was stunning.

With quiet hoofstpes, she peaked her head inside through the slightly ajar door and listened to the female [youtube=http://youtu.be/DbviXG\_56ss] quietly to herself.

"I pray you'll be alright,

And watch us where we go.

And help us to be wise,

In times when we don't know.

Let this be our prayer, when we lose our way,

Lead us to a place.

Guide us with your grace

To a place where we'll be safe"

When she finished, Twilight noticed the male came behind her and with his powerful, deep vibrato he joined in as well.

"La luce che tu dai,"

The female turned around, smiled, and sang back. "I pray we'll find your light,"

"Nel cuore restera,"

"And hold it in our hearts" She rested her hand on her chest. Twilight noticed that the singing went back and forth between the two.

"A ricordarci che,"

"When stars go out each night"

"L'eterna stella sei,"

"Ooo,"

"Nella mia preghiera,"

“Let this be our prayer,”

“Quanta fede c'e,”

"When shadows fill our day,"

"Lead us to a place,"

"Guide us with your grace,"

Holding each others hand they sang together. "Give us faith so we'll be safe."

And then they both joined in with beautiful harmony.

"Sognamo un mondo senza piu violenza

Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza

Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino

Simbolo di pace e di fraternita."

La forza che ci da

We ask that life be kind

e il desiderio che

And watch us from above

Ognuno trovi amore

Stunned by the beauty and elegance between the two she almost cried. Never once had she seen something so delicate.

These creatures... They're amazing. Twilight thought, astonished.

Before she could think anymore of it, the door creaked from being leaned on and gave away her location. Both of the creatures heads swiveled around and locked eyes with Twilight.

She felt that slight moment of fear and apprehension again as they stared at her. Their smiles were gone and their postures went rigid once more which made Twilight nervous. But before she could say anything, the creatures began to talk to one another.

As they spoke, Twilight tried to slip away, forgetting why she came here in the first place and decided she shouldn't have listened to their private moment.

Unfortunately, one of the creatures came up from behind her. She tensed up hearing it's offbeat steps come closer.  Looking up to the massive frame that belonged to the male made her heart stop, but once she looked at his face all of her trepidation melted away.

He had a soft smile on his face and bent down to his knees to appear less intimidating. He slowly moved his arm and gestured with an open palm to the female who also had an open demeanor. Then, saying a few words she wished she could understand, he motioned for her to follow him.

Curious, she watched as he stood up and turned around. Gathering up her courage, she decided to take his invitation and stepped inside the castle once again. Watching the two beings talk once more she suddenly felt embarrassed.

I just listened to their performance while hiding behind the door and then I tried to run away like a little filly. Twilight thought, thoroughly embarrassed. Noticing it became quiet, she looked to the creatures that seemed to be looking at her with interest. Taking the silence as her opportunity to do what she came here to do she figured she should begin with a greeting.

She waved, knowing her words would be useless since they didn't know Equestrian. To her content they waved back with their strange forelimbs.

Trying to think of a way to communicate with them again she realized it was going to be harder than she thought.

I should have thought of how to do this before I came here. She face-hoofed mentally. Oh well, now's the time to try and finally understand each other.
