Losing Everything (Rewrite)
You lay on the skin blistering sand looking to the dry desert sky thinking about the past hour has be the only thing on your slowly fading mind. You think about you comrads that gave thier lifes for you and it was for nothing. Looking down you see your desert uniform stained from the blood slowly seeping out of your body. Sighing you let a tear run down your cheak and all you can think about is what you have done with your life. The list could be looked at as a short list but you have over came many things by your self, but your thoughts slip your mind as things start to fade away. First was the bright sun, than the heat from the sand, the sky was turning a blinding light blue. You are forced to close your eyes from the light as you fall to the hands of death him self or thats what you think.
3 Hours earlyer....
Everything happened so fast, you nor you team had time to prepair for what is happening. you can't even hear your leader shout orders on how loud the gun fire was. In front of you was the body of a little girl holding a bloody teddy bear. Her once white dress was now filled with holes that seeped blood. Her little face screamed fear at you as you stared into her lifeless blue eyes. Your heart was filled with hate to the men who killed her.
"Pull your self together soldier!" Looking at the gloved hand on your sholder was Rhino. He was a tall well built black man, always spoke of peace and God in bad times. He hated to kill but he says its just what the job askes of him and just happens to be really good at it. You give him a small reassuring smile which he gives one right back. His face and character has always been calming to you, even when you first met him in boot camp he always gave you the upper hand.
"He's right! If we lose our heads now our goose is cooked!" Behind Rhino was Butch, simple every day back woods redneck. His short black hair and blue eyes showed a back round story, but one you could careless about. He was always smiling no matter what happens his goofy white smile was there to lighten the mood. All you can do is put on your game face and take a peek out the window that was beside of you. The once beautiful stained glass windows of the church was shattered and long gone. Looking onto the streets showed cars flipped with people firing from behind them. Bullet casings litterd the sand along with bodys and blood. This once peacful village of mexico is now a war zone of 3 marines and hundreds of the mexican mofia soldiers. "Back up has been requested ya'll! Just keep layin down fire!" Taking that as your cue you shove your M16-A1 out the window and place bullets in the drug runners. One by one they fall but just like a hydra when you cut one head, two takes its place.
"Backup isn't going to be here in time." This was the soft spoken leader of our group. A rather short man compaired to others but could out lift anyone but Rhino. He slumped against the wall with his hands on his knees looking at the dirt coverd floor. You look at him like he's crazy but looking into those green eyes showed defeat and no fate. But you don't look for long before your shooting out the window again. Slamming a new mag into the tan rifle you just stop and think.
"So what do we do?" You ask out of fear of not seeing freedom in the future or any future at all. He just stares at you with empty eyes. "No! We are not doing that!" His eyes turned cold at your answer. "We showed up here as a team we are going to leave here one way or another as a team damn it!"
"I think it's over for us hun." Butch just gives you a soft smile.
"As we walk threw the vally of shadow of death we shall fear no evil." Rhino put a new box on the side of his M60. "For God is my savor!" He stepped into the road letting lead rain down on the helpless mob.
"Go for the sake of the mission." Butch pushed you out the other side of the old church. "RUN! Tell the big guys of whats going on here!" You muster up a salute to Butch as he runs back into the church. Looking at the war torn mud huts you take off north threw the village.
1 Hour of running.
You crash threw a window of a small wooden house, laying on your back ou stuggle to breath in the much needed oxygen. After what felt like 5 minutes of labored breathing you finally take in your surroundings. A not so well groomed man stood over you, and he was pissed. The closer you look he is holding a meat clever in his right hand, rasing it into the air you make a split second choce and roll to the left. You rolled onto your stomach to look over at the large knife in the floor were you once was. You hear a scream behind you but find to be ripped up onto your feet looking the man right in his face. Finally getting a closer look lets you see a large scar running down his right eye. Thinking fast you get into his blind spot to see him bring back his left fist. You let your legs give out as you slip out of the mans grip, giving you a perfict time to counter attack. You grab a flashbang off your belt, quickly pulling the pin you drop in on the floor and cover your ears and eyes. Feeling it go off you take off threw the smal house. Runing down a brown small hallway seeing a window at the end of it. Smiling you dive out it onto the hot sand.
Getting to your feet and running past houses you think the same man is yelling for help. Taking a sharp left past a old worn down barn, you feel a burning pain in your left side. You don't dare to stop and look only to feel a burning sensation in your back and chest. You breathing turns hard and filling with fluids. You sprint turns into a jog and your back lights up in pain, tripping on your own feet you fall face first. You struggle to roll onto your back to look at the sky.
