It was a normal day on Ponyville- birds chirping, sun shining, and fresh goods being bought in town square. Everything was perfect- or so it seemed.
As Lyra Heartstrings zipped up the rest of her jacket, she cantered out into the sun. The smell of fresh cupcakes and a rainbow (somehow more red than usual) made the perfect Equestrian day even better. Across on the outskirts of the humble village, Fluttershy was happily feeding her animal friends, saving Angel for last. "Oh Angel... if you don't mind... just please eat the rest of this salad? Please?" she begged. Angel, for once, did not object and dove into the bowl of leafy greens. That was when the pegasus remembered- she had a brunch outing with Lyra! Fluttershy waved goodbye to all of the woodland creatures and flew out the entrance to her cottage.
_______________
The shy pegasus pony arrived just on time at the lyre lover's house. She was greeted by the home's owner as she walked in. "Hey Fluttershy! Ready for brunch?" Lyra said over-enthusiastically. "Um... I-I suppose so. If you don't mind." Fluttershy replied. "Well then, let's get started!" with a bonk on the head, the pegasus was out cold.
"L-Lyra! I thought we were having brunch!" Fluttershy panicked. "No, you stupid, gullible fool! It's a study session for me! And you're the test subject for the day." Lyra replied menacingly with an evil grin. After a few moments of silence for the message to sink in, she began unzipping her uncomfortable jacked she'd been wearing all morning. And with that, the calm pegasus became terrified. "Y-your mane is falling off! A-a-and so are you!" "Yes, yes Fluttershy. I know." Lyra replied calmly and rather simply.
After about thirty seconds of terror, a tall blonde with mint highlights, casual clothing, and occasional dashes of red emerged out of the jacket- better put as skin- and loomed over the only pony inside the grimy, dimly lit laboratory. Now realizing that she was strapped down, she began to hyperventilate madly, breaths in short staccatos of fear. "Calm yourself," Lyra professed. "It'll only take a few minutes."
Lyra turned around, shuffled about in a large box, and returned with various human limbs. "These are samples," she said. "They are very rare, so you've been specially chosen for testing!" Fluttershy began to panic even more than she was before. "W-w-what are you doing-" the pony did not get to finish as Lyra began painfully and bloodily replacing hooves and flanks with hands and thighs. Even one of her wings was torn off and thrown carelessly in a corner. Whilst Lyra worked her evil, Fluttershy couldn't help but think of her days from then on. What will my friends think? Or have they turned on me like Lyra? After that ordeal, the blonde, still somehow having her horn, salvaged and mended the bloody, ripped, mangled pony skin, then adjusted Fluttershy to look like a human. The whole thing was disgusting.
"All done with today's lesson," Lyra said. "Come on, put on your jacket! We can't have them thinking we're having brunch forever!" In a few seconds, Fluttershy managed to squirm into her own skin once again.
"Come by again- you could be my new helper! I'd love to have another!" Lyra called. Never! thought the pony.
Or was she?
As Fluttershy awkwardly half-hobbled half-trotted out of Lyra's house, she tried to not look weird. Rarity and Pinkie Pie happened to be in town square, most likely chatting about the new imports or nice weather. "Hello dear! How was brunch?" Rarity asked. "Ooooh, yeah!" Pinkie chimed in. "Was it nice? What did you have? Waffles? Mmmm, waffles are SO yummy! Or muffins? I love muffins-" before the pink party pony could ramble on any more, she was stopped by Rarity- Pinkie's rambling was certainly one of her biggest pet peeves.
Fluttershy was dumbfounded. Would she tell them about Lyra's evil "studies"? Or lie, and tell her friends they had an amazing breakfast? "We...um...had cupcakes! They were delicious, especially with the honey and mint tea!" she lied, going with plan B. "Oh, lovely. I'm glad you had a great time!" Rarity replied, although she could sense a tone of uncertainty in Fluttershy's statement.
"I...um, have to go get a book at Twilight's place, see you later!" the pegasus said, and then flew off towards the alicorn's humble abode. As soon as she got there, it was apparent Twilight was having a cleaning day. Books of all hues and sizes were scattered about the wooden floor, along with neat stacks placed against the staircase for later inspection. The shy pegasus was greeted warmly by Twilight and Applejack, who may have been helping or browsing the large selection of books, it was hard to tell. "Hi Fluttershy! What do you need?" Twilight sang. "I'm just here to, um, get a book on something I've been interested in lately." Fluttershy replied. "What might that something be?" "Mythology. You know, legends and uh, stuff." "Well than, I have the book for you!" Twilight levitated one of the books sitting on the piles into Fluttershy's vision. The book was entitled: Legends of Equestria-part V-myths of olden Equestria. That's exactly what she wanted! As soon as the shy pegasus paid the rental fee, she was off to her own humble treehouse on the outskirts of town.
"Ahhh..." a groan of pleasure escaped Lyra's lips as she sat down to study. It was her day off- no lyre playing, no operations, no Bon Bon for an entire day. Everything was perfect, until a more than loud knock on Lyra's door interrupted her fantasizing. She didn't worry about putting her jacket on- she knew exactly who it was. As Lyra opened the door, a scraggly, tired looking Doctor Whooves stumbled into the small foyer of the even smaller house.
"Lyra! I...have...NEWS!" he said, obviously out of breath. "What is this "news" you speak of? Have daleks invaded the Everfree forest?" Lyra replied, obviously not as enthusiastic as he was. "This is serious! You know thosde
