//-------------------------------------------------------// It's Not Like It Matters -by Stormy Dawn- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// It Totally Matters //-------------------------------------------------------// It Totally Matters Rainbow clenched her eyes shut to hold back her tears. "I'm sorry, Rainbow, I... Just don't feel that way." Soarin said as he itched the back of his neck. Rainbow nodded slowly. "Yeah," She sniffed. "I-I get it." She said. "Ok, well, I have to get back to Cloudsdale. Bye!" He said awkwardly. Rainbow watched Sorin go until he was a dot in the sky. Rainbow let out a choked sob as she took off into the air. Tears fell free from her eyes as she flew faster and faster. Stupid Hearts and Hooves Day. This is all getting too dumb for me. She thought. She flew past the houses, past Sweet Apple Acres and settled down on a hill under a tree. After she couldn't hold it any longer, she threw her head into her hooves and bursted into tears. Her wings shivered as she cried harder and harder. She laid down on top of the green grass and sobbed. "I'm done." She said out loud. "No more special someponys." She said. She rolled over and looked at the clouds in the sky rolling by. She sniffed as she calmed down. All those stallions. Blue, Thunderlane. They all said no. No. The word echoed in her head. She rubbed her temples with her hooves. She sprawled herself on the ground and took deep breaths. She rubbed her sore eyes and sighed. "But.... What if I want a kid?" She asked herself. "What if I get another crush?" She looked back at Ponyville. Everypony was setting up decorations for Hearts and Hooves day. She picked a small dandelion and blew the white away. She watched them float through the air. She unfurled her wings and retrieved a cloud. She moved it down to the ground and laid on top of it. She was still really sad, but this helped. She turned over on her back with her wings still unfurled, and closed her eyes in an attemt to fall asleep. Forget about the day. That's was all Rainbow needed right now. "Well, that didn't work." She said after five minutes of still being awake. "I still feel like crud." Rainbow said. She played with a small tuft of cloud until she heard hoof steps behind her. "Hey Dashie! What's up?" The voice said. Rainbow turned to see Pinkie Pie. She sighed. "Nothing." She said. Pinkie frowned. "You seem sad!" She said. "Wanna go prank somepony?" She asked. "No, not today, Pinkie." Rainbow solemnly said. Pinkie bounced up and down in anger. "But I'm sooo bored!" She cried. Rainbow tried to hold back more tears. She didn't need Pinkie seeing her cry. "Not right now!!!" Rainbow yelled. "Go hang out with somepony else" she mumbled. Pinkie folded her ears back. And placed her hoof on Rainbow's shoulder. "Rainbow, what's wrong? You can tell me." Pinkie said. "I said nothing." Rainbow said through clenched teeth as she brushed Pinkie's hoof off of her shoulder. Pinkie frowned. It's impossible to get in her! Pinkie thought. But I need to try. "I Pinkie promise I won't tell anypony!" Pinkie said. Rainbow didn't respond. "C'mon!!!" Pinkie said. "Tell me!" She cried. "No." Rainbow finally responded. Pinkie let out an annoying huff. She sat down beside Rainbow and didn't say a word. Rainbow stamped her hoof on the ground to make the cloud float upwards. Pinkie watched as her and the cloud floated up. "Hey!!!" Pinkie yelled. "No fair!!!" "Pinks!!!" Rainbow yelled. "Go away!" Pinkie's ears drooped. "Okay..." Pinkie mumbled. She slowly walked back towards Ponyvile. She knew she couldn't give up this easily, but she couldn't give Rainbow a piggyback and slide down a railing, because Rainbow was a full grown mare, and there was no railings around. She had no clue on what Rainbow was so upset about. Whatever it was, she would get to the bottom of this. Dashie just needs some time alone. Pinkie thought as she trotted back to the town. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Looks great everypony!" Pinkie chirped as she watched everypony chip in to help decorate the town for Hearts and Hooves Day. She looked over to see Applejack pulling a cart of apples. "Hey Applejack!" Pinkie greeted. "Well, Howdy Pinkie! Ah got tha apples ya wanted." She said. "Thanks, Applejack!" Pinkie said. "Oooooh! These apples look almost like hearts!" Pinkie complemented. "Yep! Most apples do, but ah hoof picked the ones that look tha most like hearts!" Applejack responded. "Cool!" Pinkie said "Pinkie! Pinkie!!" A filly squealed. The pink pony turned to see the Cutie Mark Crusaders with a bunch of bottles in their hooves. "We made a hole bunch of love potions for the occasion!" Scootaloo said. Pinkie bit her lip. She had heard what happened last Hearts and Hooves day. "I don't know girls, shouldn't we let the love flow naturally?" Pinkie asked with a concerned tone. "Aww! Why?" Applebloom asked. "Don't you remember what happened last time?" Pinkie asked. The three fillies thought for a moment. "Oh..." They all said. "I guess not." Pinkie smiled. "Good!" She hopped off. She spotted Twilight and bounced over to her. "Hey, Twilight!" Pinkie chirped. Twilight looked up from her book and smiled. "Hi Pinkie!" She said. "Do you have that spell thingy so you can make a Sonic Rainboom into a heart?" "Yes, I think so." She said. "I need to cast the spell on Rainbow Dash before she preforms it." Pinkie smiled. "Good!" She said. "Everything's perfect!" She frowned. "Except.... No Rainbow Dash..." She mumbled. "I gotta go!!!" Pinkie cried as she zoomed off. "Pinkie, wait! Where are you go-" she saved her voice there was no way Pinkie could've heard her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As Pinkie walked up to Rainbow, she noticed she had turned pail. Her rainbow mane was darker than usual, and so was her coat. Oh no.... Pinkie thought. "Rainbow?" Pinkie said. Her ears perked up. She hadn't called Rainbow 'Dashie'. She only called ponies by their full names when she was worried or sad. "What?" She asked as she turned to face her friend. "You should get back to Ponnyvile soon. You need to preform the Heartboom." Pinkie said. "I don't want to." She said. "But you'll let so many ponies down! Twilight studied all day to make sure this will be perfect!" She said. "I said I don't want to." Rainbow said. "Please tell me what's wrong." Pinkie asked softly. "Nothing." She said. "It's not like it matters." Rainbow said as she turned around and laid her cheek against the ground. Pinkie trotted over to face Rainbow. She put her hoof under her chin and lifted her head back up. "Of course it matters." Pinkie said. "You matter." "You really think so?" Rainbow asked. "I know so." Pinkie said. "It totally matters." "Thanks, Pinks." Rainbow said. "Now, what's wrong?" Pinkie said with the softest voice that would ever come out of her. "Well... I had a crush on Soarin, so I invited him to Ponyvile to ask him to be my special somepony. When I told him, he said he didn't feel the same way." Rainbow said. "That's not that bad, is it?" Pinkie asked. "You don't get it." Rainbow said. "He had to be the sixth one now. I ask one every year. They've all rejected me!" Rainbow pouted. "No stallions like me." Pinkie lifted Rainbow's head back up again. "Maybe... a stallion isn't what you're looking for." Pinkie said. "What do you mean?" Rainbow asked. The pink pony giggled. "Don't you see, Dashie?" She said. "If stallions don't seem to like you, maybe you need to be looking for someone else." Pinkie said. Her ears folded back. "Not catching on." She said. Pinkie groaned. Se mumbled something that sounded like 'clueless' and leaned in. Rainbow's eyes and wings flew open as Pinkie kissed her on the cheek. She blushed and she fully realized what Pinkie meant by 'Maybe a stallion isn't what you're looking for'. Her heart sped up as Pinkie leaned back. "Uhh..." Pinkie blushed and looked the other way. Meanwhile, Rainbow was questioning who she was attracted to. She looked at Pinkie. She was beautiful. Her sky blue eyes always sparkled, and she smiled almost 24/7. Her poofy pink mane and tail bounced every time she walked. She had an unmistakeable, beautiful voice. She was also was unbelievably, adorably, shockingly cute. If she were shrunk, everypony would probably mistake her for a filly. She blushed. Pinkie was attractive. She would never have the same romantic bond with Pinkie as she would with a stallion or another mare. It did make sense. "Y'know Pinkie?" She said. "I think you're right." Pinkie smiled. "Yay!" She beamed. "Now shouldn't you go and preform that Sonic Heartboom?" Pinkie asked. Rainbow chuckled. "As much as I would like to stay here with you, yes. Yes I should." Rainbow said. "Now there's the Dashie I know." Happy Valentines Day, Everypony! Author's Note Yay, I fixed all of you guy's 'Rainbow sexuality' problem!
