Chapter. 1 Mane Intro
“Well I'm just going to come out and say it I'm blaming you for this” Night huffed glaring at his companion.
“Why is it that every time we get disappear to another world you jump to the conclusion that it’s my fault?” said the towering green pony.
“well because it’s easier that way and it makes perfect sense that’s how I meet you, you know you come out of a white flowing portal guns blazing shooting those big metal guys and the rest is history am I right or am I right?” Night said losing himself into his thought before.
“CRASH!”
Night crashes into the back of a wagon.
“Ow….. Hey did anyone get license plate of that truck” said Night before slumping to the ground.
As he fell to the ground his jet black hat fluttered in the wind flying over the wagon knocking of the brown Stetson hat of an orange pony and landing softly onto her head.
“HEY what the…..” she said before turning with anger written on her face before suddenly her face changed to that of gobsmacked when The Deceiver slowly walked past his dark green armour clunking together as he walked.
“Whoa that is one big pony” she said looking up to Deceivers head.
“What did you just call me” he said deeply before spinning around.
“she called you a pony you idiot or have you forgotten what you look like in a mirror” a low voice coming from the back of the wagon stood a very tall very black pony wearing a black cape and wearing a hellish metal mask and blood red eyes.
Applejack suddenly was trapped between too large and equally scary ponies all she could here was her heart beating and her knees shaking.
“I'm so sorry I wasn’t looking were I was going but may I please have my hat back please miss?” Night said bowing like a gentlemen (gentlecolt)
All of a sudden there was a light tapping sound like horse hooves on metal night turned to Deceiver shocked to see on his back was a wild looking pink pony with an equally wild looking dark pink mane Deceiver quickly turned his head only to see a pink blur for only a second cracked against his helmet like a hammer to iron she quickly jumped down and dashed to two other pony’s running down a hill to them with quite serious faces on, Night and Deceiver whipped around quickly to face Their attackers before hearing a “HEY!” they looked around before they both simultaneously seeing a very fast very angry multi-coloured maned flying pony (obviously a Pegasus) darting right towards Deceiver her act only to be stopped in vain as she whipped around flying for his front but being stopped as she made contact with Deceivers metal chest she stopped immediately groaning in pain as she slid off his armour without even nudging him he sighed and brought his attention to the other three who still running towards him.
“I can sense four of them in that direction” Night said squinting his dark red eyes to see a pink tail behind a tree.
All of a sudden a bolt of energy shot forward from whom I assumed was the purple unicorn with the dark purple mane with what looks like a pink stripe running through it struck Deceiver with tremendous force that it caused him to spread his legs (and no not in that way) to keep himself from falling over which was a failed attempt and the green giant toppled to the ground onto the cyan coloured Pegasus (and still not in that way knock it off) with a loud thud Night was shocked that a small bolt of what could have been lightning had brought down Deceiver after all they had been through that feeble attack brought him down Night turning to the pony’s charging in his direction his eye’s growing red hot the purple unicorn fired another bolt not as powerful as the one that hit Deceiver, Night could feel she was straining against the amount of power she was throwing at them Night simply chuckled and raised a shield of dark energy and the bolt was immediately absorbed into the void then like it was nothing but a toy was reflected back at the trio and struck the pink pony which didn’t seem to be running but jumping which was odd since she was easily keeping up with the other two with ease, she was instantly grounded the other two suddenly paused to see their friend…..giggling? She was lying on the ground with static running all over her body laughing uncontrollably.
“well that’s new” Night said in raw confusion as the other two looked at Night then to each other looking at each other’s horn Night chuckling to himself at a thought he had then the purple mare that shot the bolt at Night asked him a question.
“H-h-how did you do that without a horn” she asked nervously.
Night responded with a thought that these unicorns can only use magic with their horns and judging by the other two types of pony’s he saw can’t use magic unlike the unicorns and by seeing this form of magic used by what can be described as an earth pony is something they couldn’t understand Night then spoke up to answer her question but not before having a bit of fun and without Deceiver there to stop him he can do what he wanted.
“A mere trick nothing compared to what you stunning mare’s dished out I almost got overwhelmed by how pretty you look” he said going somewhat over the top but with a hint of sarcasm which by the expression on the white unicorn with the well maintained purple mane seemed to pick up on and her expression was unchanged by Nights charm but less could be said about her companion who broke out into a bright reddish pink.
“Um… Uhh…t-t-that’s not what I meant” the now bright red unicorn said trying to hide her face with her hoof.
Out of the blue a voice piped up behind Night were the orange pony that Night and Deceiver had meet but completely forgot about was still wearing Nights hat spoke up to quell the fighting.
“It’s ok Twi these here…uh… stallions were just walkin’ by and I might of caused an argument between them” she said poking her head from beside the over turned wagon.
The two seemed content with what she had to say and strangely smiled and walked past Night as if nothing happened the purple unicorn blushing and looking away as she passed.
“My dear Applejack I didn’t know you had that way with stallions you heartbreaker you” the white unicorn said nudging her hoof into the side of the orange pony who was now a beet red in embarrassment.
“WHAT no, no, no it’s nothing like that they were walkin past that black one walked into the back of my here wagon and I glanced and commented to his friend” she said all in one breath that she forgot she was holding in.
“What did you say exactly Applejack?” commented the purple unicorn who’s name was apparently twilight (go figure).
“I only said he was big” she said pointing a hoof towards the great lump of metal that for a moment looked like a small hill.
“Applejack really how can you be so insensitive to others feelings” the white unicorn now known as Rarity gasped.
“Um…excuse me? You haven’t forgotten about me have you?” Night said waving a hoof at them.
“Oh so sorry my dear I had comple-ple-ple” she stuttered gazing up from Nights hooves to his head.
Finally actually getting a better look at Night she could now see he was quite tall taller than any stallion she knew that he wore a jet black cape which was finely stitched together that was covering a metal breast that came up to the base of his neck and overlapped another plate the continued under his stomach and sparkled beautifully with gold engravings and outlines of his armour she noticed his coat was a charcoal black unlike his mane and tail which was a deep pearl black that glistened in the sunlight but was horrified at the sight of his mask which covered most of his face and head but leaving his ears popping out at the top were his mouth would be on his mask was four large spiked teeth in the helmet the two outer being significantly larger than the inner two but what truly frightened her was his eyes dark crimson or scarlet of maybe even a blood red it was hard to know for sure the eyes constantly changed shades which sent chills up rarity’s back as she backed away from him.
“As you can see my friend here is actually very large in stature he took offense when you called him a pony” he said staring oddly at rarity who was slowly backing away.
“Why in the hay would he take offense?” Applejack said curiously.
“I….. Really can’t explain it” Night said tilting his head up losing himself in his thoughts while trying to hide the truth.
“Speaking of which how long will he be out for? Miss uhh?” Night asked.
“My name is Twilight Sparkle and well judging by his size and how much magic I used about four hours” she said holding her hoof to her mouth.
“that’s quite a pretty name for someone” Night said just realizing what he just said he turned his head his eyes growing a red hot crimson as Twilight also turning only turning bright red.
There was a sudden murmur coming from beneath Deceiver as two hind legs were thrashing about franticly until faint words could be heard.
“Help get this thing off me I can’t breathe!” she tried to scream with no success.
Night quickly rushed over but took his time to assess the situation but generally just being a smartass and said.
“I will get him off of you only if you promise not to attack me when I do, do you promise?” he said knelling down to where she was crushed for a few minutes before hearing a faint “yes” coming from beneath the metal hulk night smiled and his eyes brightly grew redder and the large green stallion slowly rolled off of the rainbow maned pony who started glowing black as Night dragged her out with his mysterious eldritch powers she then became quite restless and started thrashing almost breaking nights concentration.
“Whoa your feisty one aren’t ya” he said wrestling to keep her from escaping his grasp it was like trying to land a much more colourful fish.
“Let me go let me go” she said kicking and screaming like a 2 year old child.
“Please can you put her down Mr uhh….?” Twilight said placing her hoof on Nights shoulder causing him to jump and losing his concentration and dropping cyan pony who was hovering upside down when the spell was interrupted causing her to fall face first in the dirt with her rump in the air.
“Oh I'm sorry Rainbow Dash” Twilight said apologetically.
“Rainbow Dash hmmm how fitting” Night said nudging her flank with his hoof causing her to fall on her stomach.
At this minute Deceiver woke up after lying on his back in an awkward fashion and quickly thrashing about kicking a fence post out of its foundations.
“Well that was awkward” he said.
“I do hope you were behaving yourself while I was passed out” he said quickly looking around to see Twilight blushing at Night as he was looking at Deceiver “I see not” Deceiver said shaking his head in embarrassment.
All the mares stared at the sheer size of Deceiver and Night and stopped staring and thought that the two stallions were quite taller than other stallions they knew.
“Whoa your huge your even bigger than Princess Celestia” Rainbow Dash said zipping about Deceiver.
There was a faint whisper that no other pony heard but caught the attention of night when his ear twitched when he heard the soft voice he turned around to see a small face EEEEP! And then dart behind a bush.
“I guess she’s the shy one of the group I think I don’t think I should use my charm on this one she might have a heart attack out of sheer embarrassment” he thought to himself while looking back to see the rest were admiring Deceivers armour “typical” he said softly to himself he then proceeded to greet this shy creature as quietly and as calm as possible and made sure the others weren’t looking as he proceeded to removing his mask when a small click came from his magic which was undoing a latch that securely held his mask to his head he slowly removed his mask giving of a faint smile before removing the entire thing when he did he rubbed his charcoal black face with his hoof then ruffled the mane that was under his mask making a controlled but maintained messy style of mane style before opening his bright red eye’s and smiling.

Chapter. 2 Night and Day
“Hello” Night said softly to the quivering yellow and pink ball in the bush
“is-is the monster gone?” she whispered softly .
Night was amazed that the pony was so timid and quite he thought to himself “I might have to be very careful with this one” while he was thinking she lifted her head very slowly with tears welling up in her eyes.
“Are my friends ok?” she asked looking deep into his dark red eyes.
“Yes they’re all fine you can come out now” he answered kindly.
“D-d-d-do you promise the monster won’t come back?” she asked quietly.
He sighed “I promise”
Night slid his head out of the bushes followed by the yellow Pegasus as she crawled out of the bushes she finally saw how big night was and she turned to the sound of chatter as she saw the colossus in green and darted back into the bush but was halted by her tail being caught underneath night’s hoof.
“You promised that the monsters were gone!” she yelled quietly.
“I'm sorry for deceiving you but we are not monster’s I promise you that” Night said trying to reassure the trembling Pegasus.
“B-b-but….” She said before being cut off by what was a stunned pink blur.
“There’s no need to worry your little head off Fluttershy we don’t even know if they are bad at all” said the pink pony without even stopping for a breath.
At this time the rest of the group walked over to comfort Fluttershy night quickly slipped his mask back on without the others seeing he then walked over to Deceiver to assess the situation.
“This is definitely odd” deceiver said looking over his shoulder.
“Well it’s not the weirdest thing we’ve seen but it’s up there but what do we do know?” Night said looking at Deceiver.
“I think this is the time and place for chivalry” he said turning to Night.
“What?.... chivalry I don’t see what you’re getting at T.D” Night said in confusion.
“*sigh* I mean we should lend our services to them so we can figure how to find a way off this mud ball” Deceiver said rubbing his hoof up and down on the side of his helmet.
“Hold on a minute isn’t chivalry the knights code?” Night said.
“It works both ways night now do you agree or don’t you” Deceiver said staring him in the eye’s.
“Fine” Night said with a sigh.
The 6 young mares were talking about the new comers when a black aura formed around nights hat which was still placed on applejacks head was swapped with her Stetson hat the group turned to see deceiver and night who’s hat softly landed on his head walk up to them night was the first to speak.
“Now that we got to meet each other I think I still have a question to answer” Night said looking towards Twilight.
“I believe you asked who I was before and I think it’s time we give you an answer” he said turning and nodding at Deceiver.
Deceiver took a step forward “my name is The Deceiver I am a space marine of the Dark Angels chapter of the Imperium” Deceiver said with pride.
“And I'm The Nightbringer but you can just call me Night for short” said Night.
When the six heard their names they looked at each other in amazement the Deceiver what could possibly be his special talent his cutie mark just seemed to be crude pair of wings extending from what looked like a sword that most bipeds used like the diamond dogs but as for the Nightbringer they had to investigate further with him.
“Why do they call you the Nightbringer?” Twilight asked.
Deceiver looked at night, Night’s head was facing the ground the 6 mares looked at each other knowing they hit a nerve before night said “I think that’s a story for another time” he said softly before starting to walk down the road.
“Well after our behaviour I think it’s only fair we help you back to the nearest town” Deceiver said with a deep sigh.
“Well ok since your offerin and all you might as well tow that wagon but don’t be surprised if ya cant pull it I only know one pony who can pull that wagon and that’s my big brother” Applejack said with a challenging smirk.
“Speaking of which were is Big Macintosh anyway” said rainbow dash hovering over Applejack.
“Well he said he would meet me back in Ponyville once he went back to the lumber yard I might have forgotten to pay the stallion” A.J. said blushing from embarrassment.
“And I kind of made a bet with Big Mac that I could bring these building supplies back to sweet apple acres by myself and I only realized we over did it with the supplies so big mac would also have had a hard time towing that load” she said pointing to the wagon.
“What was the bet anyway” asked Rarity.
“The loser has to give granny smith a sponge bath for a month” replied A.J. the group except Deceiver who didn’t understand cringed at the thought.
“Well nights starting to move off without us so I think we should be going now” deceiver said slipping into the harness which was 3 sizes too small.
“I don’t think you’re gonna go anywhere without som-…..” A.J. said stopping midsentence when Deceiver walked off with the wagon leaving the 6 pony’s with their jaws to the ground.
“I guess he’s stronger than he looks” said Rainbow dash.
As the group walked on night keeping a firm lead Twilight walked along side deceiver she had to look up at him since he was twice as tall as she was.
“Did I say something wrong when I asked what his name meant?” Twilight asked Deceiver.
“From all the years I’ve known night he hasn’t even told me what his name meant” Deceiver replied.
“But haven’t you ever wondered what his name meant?” said Twilight.
“Asking and wondering are two completely different things Miss Sparkle and it’s none of my business I have my theories but I don’t talk about them because there are some things I keep to myself” said Deceiver.
“Bu-….” Was all Twilight was able to muster before walking into night who had stopped walking.
The group came to a sudden halt Twilight looked at Night whose eyes grew a bright red Deceiver walked alongside him and asked “what do you see?”
“Trouble” said Night.
The group proceeded further so they could see what night was looking at they came across a hill were they could look over Deceiver was the first to know what night had seen then the rest followed except pinkie pie who was told to stay by the wagon (for obvious reasons) night twilight and applejack crawled to the top of hill both A.J. and twilight were having to squint to see the figures but couldn’t make out a detailed description until night “Hoofed” a pair of binoculars to twilight who thought he materialised them from nowhere shaking the thought she peered through the binoculars to see a horrifying event taking place by a humble apple tree.
“Oh no that’s not good” twilight said shaking.
“What! What’s going on I can’t see” said Applejack hovering her hoof over her eye’s to get a better look.
“Diamond Dogs” Night said with a growl.
“When we arrived here we were attacked by two of them they didn’t stand a chance” Night said turning his head see deceiver nodding to him.
“Night we have to help them” Twilight said sliding the binoculars to A.J.
“No not we me you don’t do anything I will handle it but if things go pear shaped I want the mother and her colt out of that area immediately.
“B-b-but you can’t go out there alone you should take Deceiver with you” Twilight said trembling at the sight of his eye’s burning hot beneath his mask.
“No I need him here if something goes wrong and if he’s there it might cause more problems than solving them I need to handle this delicately I would prefer to have no conflict…oh and to limit the chances” Night said undoing the latch to his mask and levitated it to Twilight she looked up at his face and looked away blushing, Night didn’t give it a second look and made his way towards the tree were the diamond dogs were harassing the family his eye’s hidden beneath his tilted hat slowly approached the tree meanwhile twilight, A.J., Rarity and Rainbow dash waited on the hill watching Night make his way to the tree A.J. was the first to break the intense silence.
“He’s cute isn’t he” she said nudging Twilight as she gave her a wink.
“WHAT! No, no, no, I don’t think of him that way h-h-he’s just….” She said bearing herself into her hoofs.
“Do you think he could take on so many of those brutes by himself” Rarity spoke up.
“He’ll be fine I mean he beat me and that’s no easy feat” Rainbow dash said with cockiness radiating off of her while the others just rolled their eyes.
“And besides he wouldn’t leave his number one fan behind” she said poking Twilight in the head who broke out into a deep red.
“Hush! Something’s happening” A.J. said waving them down.
As night approached the tree he could see a sky blue pony with cherry red mane and tail which seemed to him to be an odd colour scheme he then glanced to see a small colt with a white coat and sky blue mane and tail hiding between his mother’s legs the 5 diamond dogs that were harassing them were taller than he was and wearing armour of iron and wielding diamond edged weapons those weapons could do serious damage against his light black armour plates if a conflict broke out but he was more interested in the larger of the 5 one wearing gold armour and wielding an axe which seemed to have been cut from raw diamond as night closed in the colt saw night coming and softly said “mummy look” she turned to see a black stallion that almost rivalled the diamond dogs night tilted his hat to hide his eye’s as the 5 diamond dogs encircled the trapped stallion.
“Well, well what do we have here a pony lost his way” one of the dogs laughed.
“Ha this one’s a tall one he’s bigger than I am” another laughed flicking nights hat causing him to get very annoyed.
The leader then came almost face to face with Night, night looked up at him his eye’s now visible to the pack.
“Hmm nice armour you have there titanium alloy I see” the leader said with fascination in his voice.
“I’ve never seen such craftsmanship in such armour and in such a colour” he said circling Night.
“it’s good but frankly its more of a show piece than a piece of armour” Night said modestly.
“You know your ore I see you not as “dim-witted” as your fellows” he said with a smile.
The rest of the group growled viciously but the leader just laughed and nodded his head.
“Ha you’ve got a pair on you for a pony I like you, I agree there aren’t too many of use that call themselves educated which you saw immediately” the leader said while he burst into laughter.
One of the group’s hairs started to stick up on end and the leader saw this and knew what he had discovered.
“How rude of me my name is grudge” he said proudly.
“Grudge that’s a simple I don’t think I'm going to ask where you acquired such a name” said Night.
While night was stalling for time the diamond dog that alerted grudge to night started to sniff one of nights hind legs night saw this and lifted his right hind leg and brought it down on the dog’s head with an ear piercing cry of pain the rest group (except grudge) lunged towards night at this moment twilight A.J. rarity and rainbow dash held their breath and closely watched the event unfold twilight clutched onto nights mask tightly.
“Ha now this is a fight I’ve been getting bored” Night laughed dodging attack upon attack with ease.
“Stop…… jumping around pony and……. Fight” one of the dogs wielding a spear shouted as Night dodged his attacks.
“Maybe you should stop talking and pay attention to where I am” Night said standing behind the diamond dog readying to buck him.
“H-h-how did you d-….” Diamond dog said before being sent hurtling through the air and landing onto another diamond dog taking them out of the fight.
By this time the two remaining diamond dogs were now having second thoughts and were starting to back away before being dragged back by two black tentacles which materialised out of two dark wells next to night the black tentacles lifted the two frightened dogs into the air before slamming them into each other and dropping them onto the other unconscious diamond dogs.
While Night was preoccupied admiring his handy work Grudge had slipped behind into the shadow of the tree and clobbered night when he wasn’t looking sending night into the ground night had managed to bring himself to see his attacker.
“I like you shadow kin I really do but the fact we can’t use you for our plans makes you useless to use” Grudge said lifting his terrifying axe.
Night blinked and waited what felt like hours before grudge brought down his axe.
Chapter 3. Royal pains
(my apolgises to those who are actually following this story exams have been coming up i havent had any time writing also i have 10 other story's to finish but like in the previous chapter please leave some comments on your thoughts so i can correct anything or better improve on this story)
‘CRASH!’
With a ground shaking crash night slowly opened his left eye to see what was keeping his inevitable fate piercing down next to himself he saw his reflection on the diamond axe which was intended for him sticking out of the ground only a mere 4 inches away and barely missing his tail with a sigh of relief he turned to see the sun was being blotted out by a massive figure in green he then swivelled his head to were the tree once stood then he looked back to his saviour.
“took you bloody long enough” Night said with a relieved sigh
“well it’s not the most manoeuvrable armour around night” T.D. snorted
“geez he’s going be feeling that one in the morning” Night whistled
“well we’d better rope’em up so they don’t run awa-….” Was all night muttered before being tackled in the side by a purple and pink blur
upon further inspection of his assailants after regaining his breath there nestled on his chest were a pink and purple sobbing mares one obviously pinkie pie understandably, understanding why she would be in tears after experiencing an event like that and what would have happened to her new friend but the purple one naturally being Twilight due to her purple coat colour was even harder to figure out she didn’t seem to be the one who would get so worked up over someone she had just meet but his concentration was disrupted over the commotion of the rest of the gang were making over the diamond dogs and asking the mare and her colt what had happened which their existence had escaped night and T.D’s memories until now but all he could hear at the moment was Twilights gentle sobs something was off about this picture and he couldn’t figure out what.
“hey why the long faces?” Night softly asked
“it *sniff* looked *sniff* as if *sniff* you were going to be k-k-k-hurt” pinkie wept spraying what seemed like a river of tears
“hey it’s got to take a lot more take this old dog down, pun not being intended” night smiled
Pinkie just giggled to the unintended pun and hopped away with remarkable resilience night tried to set himself upright but found he still had a weight on his chest the purple ball rolled off Night with a surprised Eep causing her to land on her haunches making her stare deeply into nights crimson eye’s which sadly made Night teary as he found she had been crying for a while her eyes were red from the tears her mane was in a mess upon seeing her in such a state just broke Nights heart she gasped out of surprise when night pulled her in and wrapped his hooves around silently whispering “I’m so sorry” over and over all she could do was return in kind wrapping her fore hooves around his neck.
“I'm so sorry Twilight I didn’t mean to cause this much trouble I’m usually very cautious about my surroundings I'm even more sorry that I broke down just now I’m usually good at keeping focused but I’ve never been good at keeping a straight face when someone is hurt” Night whispered trying to avoid drawing attention
“you have nothing to be sorry about you were just doing the right thing I just didn’t think you’d be that good in a fight” twilight said softly wiping a fresh set of tears from her eye’s
“hey I took you down didn’t I? but that’s what caused their downfall their naivety and arrogance got the best of them plus it would’ve taken more than an axe to finish me off” Night said looking up to face twilight with a cocky grin
“but weren’t you scared?” twilight asked
“you cannot scare something of which doesn’t know fear” Deceiver’s voice boomed as he stood over the grounded duo
Twilight was mesmerized by the response that T.D. gave what did he mean doesn’t know fear? She thought.
“awww you two make such a cute couple” pinkie Daww’d (it’s a word stop judging)
At the realization that the group including the mare and her colt were watching the entire scene take place both night and twilight looked at each blushed heavily and night quickly stood up to wash off the embarrassment after a minute of awkward silence the colt walked out from the protection of her mother and gawked at the sheer size and mass of the titan that saved their saviour.
“whoa your huge your bigger than my daddy” he said with mouth almost hitting the ground
Night couldn’t help trying not to stifle a giggle but he inevitably snickered and T.D. picked up on what he was smirking about and if it wasn’t for a child being present he would’ve smacked night in the back of the head with his hoof but instead he gave a look only he could make a stare that felt like it could freeze time itself "Night that was the worst one yet".
“I would like to thank the both of you so much they were going to take my baby away from me I cant thank you enough” the mother said nearly bursting into tears
“no worry’s ma’am we were just doing what we do best putting scum like them in their place” deceiver explained
“hey come on smile we’re nearly home we can talk more there OH AND HAVE A SUPER DUPER PARTY!” pinkie squalled pointing in the direction of a nearby town
“she’s right we can talk more when we get to ponyville there I can send a message to prin-..ahhh” twilight gasped in pain when she started to walk
“Twilight whats wrong?” Rainbow Dash asked
“I think when I was running I might have over did it I seemed to have sprained my ankle” twilight said sitting back on her haunches to get a better look at her situation
“oh my can you walk?” Fluttershy piped up out of no where
“I'm fine overall but I cant walk the pain Is to much” twilight winced as another shot of pain crawled up her arm
“we need to keep moving we’ve already wasted more time that we needed” T.D. sated he then turned to night with an expecting look “well how much time do we have?”
“hmm judging by the way the planets orbiting and in my weakened state I would assume 2 hours before the night comes so as soon as we get to ponyville I will need somewhere to concentrate” night sighed
“alright rarity applejack you take the colt and his mother on the wagon pinkie pie and fluttershy you can climb up on my back rainbow dash I assume you’d prefer to fly” T.D. said cocking his head up to rainbow dash who replied with a simple nod
“YAAAAYYYYY! Piggy back ride!”pinkie pie squelled with unholy glee making T.D. shudder as he readjusted his helmet to cope with the sheer volume of noise that was pinkie
“umm I think I’ll just walk if that’s alright with you” Fluttershy quietly said trying to hide her face behind her mane but T.D. wasn’t about to let him be told what to do by a small yellow welp and he walked over and towered over her with a deathly still gaze (even though he’s wearing a helmet)
“Fluttershy” he said looking down at her as if he was going to crush “y-y-yes” she squeaked “get on my back NOW!” he boomed stamping his iron hoof on the ground causing everyone to jump at the commotion, fluttershy simply nodded and slinked to T.D.’s side and tried helplessly to climb on his back T.D. laughed to himself at the sad display he was but pitied the creature enough to lower himself to let her climb on his back “why didn’t you use your wings to just fly on my back” he asked but fluttershy said nothing but a faint sniff before he could realise what had happened a pink blur shot out of no where and struck his helmet usually night would accasionally tap on his helmet to break his concentration but he was just hit directly in the head causing him to stumble he swiftly turned his ahead to see his culprit comforting a weeping Pegasus.
“you big meanie why did you have to make shy shy cry you big grumpy mumpy pants” pinkie bluntly said
“well put, but do you think I cried every time I was yelled at, no, I didn’t I picked myself back up and faced them and its because of them I turned out this way and I’ve never not even once doubted myself not once” T.D. explained never once breaking his eye contact with the pink ball before being enveloped in a choking embrace by her
“AWWWWW! I'm sorry T.D. I didn’t realise how broken you were” pinkie said nuzzling his armoured head he was about to ask why he was broken before she interrupted him “you know you shouldn’t be so grumpy just smile” she said with a smile “I think I will pass” He replied
“Well what about Twilight there isn’t enough room on the wagon and my back is rather full?” T.D. explained
Night calmed down enough to think about the situation Twilight was hurt and couldn’t even stand let alone walk “ I think I will just have to carry her” Night said pulling his cape off his back and wrapping it around the blushing red unicorn he lifted her on his back with his dark magic as she began to be enveloped by a dark aura she shuddered until he broke the field as she landed gently on his armoured back “what’s wrong Twilight?” he asked she quietly explained “it was very cold” as he gave a hearty laugh and they began their trek.
After ten minutes twilight began asking Night questions which he seemed happy to answer
“Night why was your magic so cold?” she asked resting her head on his shoulders
“It just comes with the job just like my armour and my awsome hat” he chuckled
“But why do you feel cold?” she said
“Really? I didn’t realise” he simply said
He then turned his head and faced Twilight who was now staring in the eye’s “am I really that cold?” he said before gently blowing into Twilights face she felt chills run through her entire body it felt like a crisp autumn morning cold but the nip wasn’t to put one off of going about their day “well?” night asked “it was a bit cold but it was……nice” she responded blushing a deep red Night just smiled his warmest smile and continued walking before Twilight asked another question.
“What are the straps under your armour? They don’t seem to be a part of your armour?” Twilight curiously asked
“In time I will tell you” he said
“You know you haven’t given me a single straight answer all you’ve done is given me cryptic responses” she said with annoyance
“Oh am I?” Night smugly asked
“SEE you’re doing it again!” she growled causing Night to laugh
“What’s the point of me asking you questions if you’re not going to answer them?” she asked
“Well you being on my back didn’t hurt” he smugly grinned, Twilight’s blush was growing bright red after that she kept quiet for the rest of the trip.
About 20 minutes later most of the gang had fallen asleep the colt and his mother were sleeping quietly Rarity was also asleep nestled between the timber which she took upon herself to organise applejack was whistling a tune to herself at the end of the wagon pinkie pie and Fluttershy had fallen asleep on T.D.’s back while Rainbow Dash was asking T.D. about how he moved so fast to save Night, Twilight had fallen asleep on Nights back and was curled up in his cap wearing his hat which she wanted to try on for the sake of how cool it looked.
Rainbow dash drifted behind and found a small space on the wagon to have a nap thanks to Rarity’s need to organise everything down to the smallest detail T.D. slowed down to walk beside Night.
“How you faring?” T.D. said quietly
“What do you mean?” Night curiously asked
“I mean you’ve pushed yourself far beyond what you should have done despite the circumstances you have to be careful if you get to tired you’re not going to be able to perform you-” T.D. explained but was cut off by a loud yawn from Twilight T.D. looked at her then to night.
“I sure hope you don’t do anything stupid because the last thing we need is for you to toy with the inhabitants” T.D. warned
“you worry too much I'm not going do anything stupid because there’s something different about this one” Night said looking back to the sleeping mare gripping his hat “never knew you cared so much about me your getting soft old man” Night said nudging T.D. in the side
“old habits die hard I guess” T.D. huffed softly
While Night and T.D. were talking Applejack noticed a familiar red barn she did an ear splitting whistle which seemed to wake everyone from their slumber.
“hey this is ma farm I need you to pull the wagon over next to the barn” A.J. announced
T.D. nodded pulling off onto the long dirt road leading up to the barn while T.D. uncoupled himself heard a small voice speak up to him
“wow your huge” said the small voice to T.D. he quickly looked around but saw nopony after Hmmming to himself for a few seconds he shrugged it off and proceeded walking but was spoken to again “whoa careful ya nearly stepped on me!” this time he looked down and was shocked to see an even smaller pony this time with a bright yellow coat and a deep red mane and tail with a bright red bow in it she was no bigger than his hoof she was so small he couldn’t help but stare until a certain pink blur squalled in his audio receptors nearly frying them “OH MY GOSH YOU HAVENT MET APPLEBLOOM YET!”
“WILL YOU STOP DOING THAT!” T.D. yelled at the top of his volume as he shook Pinkie off his back and stared her in the eye’s which was starting to frighten her even though she couldn’t see his face she knew he was angry Night had mentioned while T.D. wasn’t looking that T.D. had anger management issues “I can’t stand high pitched noises and with you acting like a eccentric child it becomes intolerable I’ve fought Howling banshee’s and demons that were quitter than you!” he growled by which she was weeping at the volume he was using to establish his complaint T.D. wasn’t a heartless creature he couldn’t hold a grudge against any creature no matter how annoying they may be.
“*sigh* Pinkie Pie I know you’re an excellent judge of character and dedicated friend so why in the emperors grace do insist to provoke my patience?” T.D. sighed but with a hint of curiosity in his voice
“I just wanted to see you smile you look so unhappy” pinkie sniffed wiping away her tears and pointing at his helmet
“you do realise this is a helmet not my face right?” he said pointing to his helmet
“Oh! Really? I thought you were a big metal pony that follows night around cause that would be the best thing EVER!” Pinkie said returning to her usual demeanour
“you’re not angry still are you? You still want to be my friend right?” pinkie sadly spoke with her ears folded back
“Of course not I don’t usually stay mad at somepony who manages to land a hit against me” he said calmly and rubbing the part of his helmet pinkie had dinted when they first met
“that’s so super awesome I was afraid you wouldn’t like me and you wouldn’t want to be my friend but it’s okay and I can throw you and Night a welcome to ponyville party and I can show you my party cannon” Pinkie smiled and hopped around ecstatically before quickly whipping out a small cannon from no where.
“your party wha-” ‘BOOM!’ was all T.D. managed to get out before he was sent flying through the air and straight through the barn door Pinkie was laughing uncontrollably before she realised Applebloom was still watching as went to the little filly who wasn’t even paying attention as the spectacle of someone as big as T.D. was sent through the air by a small cannon barely half his size.
“OH! I forgot to introduce you to T.D. oh well we’ll just have to talk to him when he regains consciousness” she giggled to the frozen filly
Whilst Applebloom and pinkie pie were try to get T.D. back on his hooves rainbow dash were discussing if it was right to let T.D. and night into ponyville while rarity and Fluttershy had headed off with the colt and his mother since the diamond dogs were apprehended as they left applejack and Rainbow Dash walked up to night with concerned looks on their faces
“hey Night we were wondering what did you do with the diamond dogs?” R.D. asked
“They’re in a safe place for now until I find the proper authorities until then they will stay there” Night answered with a evil grin
“O-okay then but what about Twilight? We have a lot of unloading to do and that hole in the barn that pinkie put there…..” Applejack sheepishly asked
“no need I will take her home anyway my plans may have to wait for a while, you know with T.D. being unconscious” Night pointed out to huge lump of green metal which was being hauled out by an annoyed sounding red stallion
Applejack thought for a minute before sighing “ok then but listen here we’re trustin ya to take Twilight home safe and sound ya hear” Applejack warned
Night nods giving her his warmest smile before turning and started walking down the dirt road whispering to himself “it’s always the same” as he walked along the road to ponyville he became lost in his thought, they seem genuinely concerned about my wellbeing but I'm more interested in this one. He thought taking a glance at the sleeping mare that was curled up on his back, “maybe something good will come from this” he said chuckling to himself.
“I don’t know what’s so funny this situation is anything but funny” proclaimed a mysterious voice
Night now broken out of his thought realised he was now in the middle of a small town quickly taking glances saw that the town was had brightly coloured houses with straw roofs he then noticed he was surrounded by armoured pony’s clad in gold armour some were earth ponies some were unicorns and some were pegasi he then noticed a purple and gold trimmed armoured unicorn shouting at him “HEY YOU! PAY ATTENTION!” Night could tell he was hot tempered and a mischievous grin crept upon his face “sorry were you talking to me?” he calmly said.
“YES I’M TALKING TO YOU! Now it was foolish of you to wander into our trap so easily your either stupider than you look or you just plan blind” the strange unicorn announced
“actually I didn’t notice you were here” Night calmly answered which seemed to annoy the unicorn more.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DIDN’T NOTICE US!? WE WERE STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU ARE YOU
OBLIVIOUS AS WELL AS STUPID?” he exclaimed
Night started to wince a little at the comments “tell me why you thought you could trap me?” he asked, “what do you mean i thought we did” he smugly said, “touché” Night said, “we trapped you because our leaders told us to they think you’re a danger to everyone so myself and the elite wonder bolts were sent here to apprehend you” he proclaimed Night glanced up noticing among the pegasi soldiers there were pegasi wearing blue and bright yellow spandex’s.
“Hmph…. So not only are you arrogant morons your lap dogs as well” Night smugly said the unicorn was now furious Night smiled and whispered “gotcha” to himself before saying “fine you win I wouldn’t stand a chance against you fine soldiers” Night sarcastically said bowing his head the unicorn smiled and muttered something about night not being worth the effort of sending the elite he then nodded to some Earth ponies who proceeded to apprehend Night with his head still hung low he waited for the guards were on both sides of him before he quickly bringing his fore hooves up and upper cutting the two guards who trying to apprehend him.
“WHATS THE MEANING OF THIS?” the furious unicorn announced
“I didn’t say I was going willingly” Night smugly said
The unicorn was now furious and jumped down to the ground from the building he was standing on and proceeded to walk to Night followed by two Wonderbolts but before they could get halfway to Night two black pools opened from beneath them and two black tendrils grabbed and through the two Wonderbolts into each other all the guards that were watching as well as some ponyville civilians were absolutely gob smacked to see that two Wonderbolts were knocked out before even getting to their target “so much for elite if they truly were ‘Elite’ as you say they are then they should’ve seen that coming but this is between us not them also do know the concept of sarcasm?” Night smugly grinned the unicorn was now red with anger and charged at Night quickly closing the gap between them but before he could get to night, Night quickly threw Twilight of his back who was still wrapped up in his cloak with a small gasp coming from her he hoped they didn’t notice her but his thoughts were cut short by a angry unicorn ploughing into his side causing Night to struggle to breath but he quickly recovered his breath and now he was mad.
Night brought down both his fore hooves on top of the unicorns head sending to the ground with the power to shake the ground the unicorn amazingly was still conscious and staggered back throwing his helmet to the ground which was cracked down the middle and as soon as he threw it away and snapped in half as it made contact with the ground now the unicorn didn’t have his helmet on Night could see his facial features better he had a white coat with a mane and tail with three different shade of blue as its colours minus the red streaks of blood pouring from his head and his eyes were a nice shade a blue but his eyes were full of hate for Night “that was my favourite helmet” he growled angrily night laughed at this “well if it’s any constellation you scratched my armour and nobody’s been able to do that in a few years” Night laughed which made the unicorn furious and he proceeded to use his two fore hooves to fight Night and Night was all too happy to oblige in kind sadly the fight was not going the unicorns way the blow to the head was taking its toll and he was taking more damage than he was dealing, Night stood panting slightly he hadn’t fought like this in years he thought but while Night was lost in his thought the unicorn struggled to keep his balance the amount of blows he had taken would have left other ponies badly wounded or worse so he concentrated all the power he had into one spell a paralysis spell Night soon realising the unicorn was casting and tried to interrupt the spell but wasn’t paying attention and was struck in the chest by a glowing beam of purple energy which blinded all those who were watching a minute passed until the blinding light dissipated and a dark figure lay fallen to the ground and the battered unicorn stood victorious and cheers were sounded through the entire town.
“you *pant* weren’t so tough *pant* the next time someone gives you an order you follow it” the unicorn proudly said with a smug smirk
“duly noted” Night grunted out before lifting his frame up to face the unicorn who was now frozen in fear from staring into his red flaming eye’s “how are you even standing you should be paralysed?” the unicorn squeaked
“well…… since you all are so eager to know I’ve learned a special kind of magic from the land I come from this magic is called..…. Rune casting” Night said with a mischievous grin
“w-what’s rune casting?” the unicorn nervously to ask
“rune casting is a powerful form of magic were instead of conventional use of magic that unicorns do a rune caster draw runes that use magic derived from magical lay lines under the planets crust and rune casters can have zero magic potential” as Night said this the crowd were shocked at this discovery but Night pressed on “the spell you used on me didn’t work because I used a rune called dispell-” Night said before being cut off “but you didn’t draw a rune?” one guard nervously spoke up “ah but that’s the interesting part I did use that rune but it’s hidden from view” Night grinned and the crowd looked at each other with confused expressions on their faces.
“you see I carved the dispell rune into my own rib cage so it has a permanent effect, but sadly only beings that possess magical abilities can do that to their bodies those who don’t have to carve it into the ground” Night giving a wince remembering the painful procedure the crowd was shocked
“y-y-y-your monster nopony could have survived such treatment” the unicorn muttered the words causing Night to tense up and start grinding his teeth
“so you think I'm a monster?.....you don’t the meaning of the word” Night said coldly
As Night finished he looked at the terrified unicorn Nights eyes now with a red mist flowing freely out of them lunged at unicorn at that moment life seemed to stand still night looking down at the fallen unicorn Twilight crying and those soft weeps cut right through his anger and time seemed to speed up as a flash of light caught his attention as it struck him in the side searing pain coursed through his body sending him several metres from the unicorn and landed a few feet from Twilight Night managed to struggle against the pain stared into Twilights weeping eye’s taking in every detail of her face then muttering “I’m sorry” before slumping to the ground barely able to keep his eyes’ open the pain from his wound became too much to bear but he had to get to Twilight but his train of thought disrupted by a bright glowing white light which seemed to materialize from the direction the bolt of energy came from the celestial figure landed on the ground and slowly made its way to a weeping Twilight a great rage swept over Night his eye’s growing a deep red the sound of his teeth grinding before he brought up enough strength to stand on all fours and lunged at the white figure with what was a relatively soft collision sending the white figure stammering to side and leaving night in front of Twilight trying to find another source of strength but could not muster enough to make a stand the white figure now regaining its balance made its way towards Twilight but being blocked by a wounded black stallion.
“Night please your hurt” Twilight gasped
Night looked back at the unicorn watching each tear role down her cheeks before turning to face his attacker
“if you so much as take a step towards her I will kill you!” Night exclaimed with pure anger between pants
“why are you protecting her?” a celestial voice asked (naturally female)
“because I made a promise” Night replied
“would you give your life to protect her?” the celestial figure asked while taking a step towards night who started to take a step back
“as strange as it may seem I only just meet her but it would seem her destiny is linked to mine and I will gladly give my life to protect her and if you want to get to her you’ll have to go through me first” Night strongly replied with a smile making his stand to the enclosing figure
“ha ha ha, I'm not here to kill you” the celestial figure laughed moving closer towards Night
As the figure moved closer a deep pain erupted from his wound blood now gushing from his head mouth and his new found wound Twilight was shocked that someone she had just met would so willingly give up his life for hers but was taken aback by the sheer amount of blood that flowed from him but the thing the scared her most about it was the blood was not a usual crimson but was a deep black the celestial figure soon closed the gap between her and Night who was now tensing up in pain he looked up at the figure in the face and saw something odd the eyes were a light magenta but they were familiar before he could talk the pain over whelmed him and he blacked out the last thing he heard were Twilight screaming to get a doctor and then everything faded into darkness were he soon found comfort.
Night was floating in the dark void that was his mind were all of his memories and knowledge was stored but his memories started flooding back to him like a great wave of pain and heart break but out of all of the memories that flooded him the was one that stood out above them all one word he would never forget till the he died “Monster” no matter what he did that was the first word that would roll off the tongues of everyone he met until he came face to face with a small colt who had watering crimson red eye’s and found out he was staring at himself when he was but just 5 years old the little colt looked up at him and said. “why did you do it no wonder everyone thinks we’re monsters!” the black colt cried night could only hang his head in shame and reply with “if I didn’t then I wouldn’t be who I am but if it means anything …….…I'm sorry” the little colt could only reply with a light chuckle before saying “you’re the fifth pony who has ever apologised to us for us being who we are” Night just smiled before the little colt faded back into the dark and Night was confronted with a blinding light and was awoke with a gasp to find he was lying in a bed in what could be described as a hospital since he was the only off colour there everything was a sterile white while he was a dark black wrapped in bandages and being monitored by various amounts off life support equipment slowly he started to wriggle to regain feeling in his limbs and adjusting his eye’s to his new surroundings and noticed his cloak and hat hanging on a coat hanger along with his black saddlebags with his crest the silver crescent moon with a star overlapping the moon but to his left he noticed his armour with a gaping hole in it most likely caused from that bolt of energy since it had scorch marks on the impact site and was covered in blood Night could only shake his head slowly in frustration giving a muffled “just great” due to oxygen mask he was wearing.
As he was removing the oxygen mask and other various unnecessary equipment he didn’t need the door to his room flung open and there standing in the door way was a white earth pony with a pink mane and tail but her mane was tied up in a bun and a red cross cutie mark stared with stern eye’s and walked into the room her gaze never leaving Nights eye’s Night gulped as he knew that the pain wouldn’t stop she came up to his bedside and pulled out a chart he noticed some of the papers looked very old and tattered he then noticed the nurse staring into his eyes with steely wonder.
“yes?” Night asked calmly then proceeded to wrestle out of the life support equipment
“how are you still alive?” the nurse asked still staring coldly into his eye’s
Night paused in his futile attempt to remove most of the various tubes that were now tangled around his neck and body. “hyper…….. regeneration” Night grunted while returning to untangling the many tubes the nurse just stood there dumbfounded. “hyper regeneration?” she asked “yep hyper regen is a ability that most demi gods have to cope with the lack of invincibility that gods have basically for example I could be killed because I'm a demi god and not a god I'm immortal but that’s about it, oh and my ability to manipulate dark energy but that’s anoth…ACKK!-” Night squeaked before the tubes around his neck tightened around his neck the nurse couldn’t help but giggle but took it upon herself to realise Night from his bonds before the door to Nights flung open and a pink blur flung itself at night who just braced for impact and with a loud crash Night sat up in his bed wincing from the pain and gasping for air managed to look up at the teary eyes of pink pony.
“sup Pinks” Night wheezed
“OH MY GOSH! NIGHT YOUR AWAKE I THOUGHT YOU”D NEVER WAKE UP YOU WERE SO HURT AND I THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO THROUGH YOU AND T.D. A WELCOME TO PONYVILLE *GASP!* I ALMOST FORGOT!” and in an eye blink she disappeared but not before poking her head around the door frame to say “I’ll be right back” Night just laid back in the bed and sighed he knew a headache was coming along any minute now and sure enough before long Rarity and Rainbow Dash ran into the room followed by Applejack and Twilight and then Pinkie Pie who seemed to commando rolled through the door night managed to mutter “here comes my headache” the nurse giggled at the remark before turning to leave the room before night stopped her. “sorry I didn’t catch your name” night asked she just turned to him and said “my names nurse Red Heart but you can just call me Red” she said giving him a wink and turned and walked out the room meanwhile night had a huge grin on his face while the rest of the mares looked at him curiously while twilight looked slightly annoyed but before night noticed an all too familiar voice spoke to him “you haven’t changed a bit night, your still a catch” the voice chuckled the mares looked to the door then back to night who’s eyes widened in disbelief and jaw wide opened they then looked back to the door and saw a tall white angelic pony with both a horn and wings to match the 5 mares all bowed to the Alicorn who smiled at the group before walking up to the dumbstruck stallion.
Night quickly recovered from his trance “hey Tia it’s been a long time” Night responded his eye’s tearing up Celestia was also starting tearing up and lunged at night and gripped night in a tight hug but nights tears of joy were replaced by tears of pain since she was gripping very hard on his bandaged rib cage “Tia……. please be careful” night squeaked Celestia quickly let go and wiped away her tears and regained her composure to speak further but before she could twilight shocked at the scene playing asked curiously “Princess Celestia…….. How do you know night?” Celestia smiled and sat down on her haunches and cleared her voice and began to speak “well I'm sure you want to know since I just broke down in tears if I was to put it simply me and Night here and child hood friends” she smiled while the rest of the group (except Pinkie Pie she was busy stealing nights ice cream from his food tray).
“HE’S YOUR CHILD HOOD FRIEND?” all 4 said in unison
“Well me and Luna but she young at the time, but never the less he was a good friend of mine throughout my child hood and we even were apprentices of Starswirl the Bearded” Celestia explained, twilights jaw dropped even further
“You were trained by Starswirl the Bearded” Twilight asked
“Indeed he was here I found these pictures yesterday to bring here when he woke up” celestia replied using her magic to bring a few old black and white pictures from some saddle bags she stashed behind the door so they weren’t seen the 5 mares looked at the pictures one had a small white Alicorn standing next to an equally small colt with slit eye’s both were smiling Pinkie Pie was the first speak “AWWWWWW night you were soooo cute as colt” Night just rolled his eyes.
“Why is night shorter than you?” Rainbow Dash asked
“Well despite night being a year older than I was he never was could around other most of the time he slouched or held his head low so others couldn’t see him” Celestia smiled and started ruffling nights mane and said “you always were a midget despite your age” Night crossed his hooves over his chest and turned his head away before saying.
“Tia you had a fat ass then and YOU HAVE AN EVEN FATTER ASS NOW!” he yelled
