Derpy Hooves, a simple pegasus that delivered mail to everypony. She pulled out a letter and dropped it in Rainbow Dash's mailbox. She looked up and watch Rainbow Dash with her one good eye. She gazed in awe at the cyan pegasus. She sat down to get comfortable and caused a crack in the ground. The crack traveled to the mailbox and split the wooden stake in two. The mailbox fell off and the mail fell out into a mud puddle.
"Oops."
"Derpy!"
The grey pegasus flinched and braced herself for the scolding. Rainbow Dash flew down and picked up her wet, muddy mail. "Jeez! Why do you have to break everything?! Is it so hard not to mess with other ponies' stuff for one day?!"
"I'm sorry, Rainbow Dash. It's just that, you were so awesome! I loved the part where you went down and was like 'Whoosh'! And then, you sped up into the air and was like 'Zip'! That was so cool!" Derpy flew into the air, and accidentally hit her head on Rainbow Dash's cloud, which caused a piece to break off.
Rainbow Dash ignored the praise and focused on her home. "Great! Now I have to fix that too! Just go away!" She shooed Derpy off, studying the small damages. Derpy was taken back by this and lowered her head in shame. She walked off, her hooves dragging as she trudged away from the rainbow maned pegasus.
Derpy slowly, but surely reached her next stop. It was Fluttershy's home. A smile crept onto Derpy's face. Fluttershy was sweet and kind, and she always was compassionate towards Derpy. The blonde pegasus trotted up to Fluttershy's mailbox. She placed the mail in gently and knocked on her door, wanting to have a small talk before moving on. The door opened and Fluttershy stomped out. She suddenly bumped into Derpy and fell back.
"Oh, sorry Fluttershy."
"When somepony tries to block, show them that you rock!"
"Wha-"
Derpy was interrupted, when she was suddenly thrown into the mud pond next to Fluttershy's house. She looked up and saw Fluttershy's glare.
"Stay out of my way!" Fluttershy stomped off, leaving a very confused and hurt Derpy in the mud. "Wow, even Fluttershy is mean. I should stop trying to talk to ponies for now." Derpy stood up, shook the mud off herself, and flew on.
When reaching Twilight Sparkle's house, the alicorn was a bit upset about the muddy mail. "Derpy, this is the fourth time!" Twilight let out an aggravated sigh.
"Sorry, but Fluttershy threw me into the mud." Derpy tried to explain, but Twilight suddenly had a worried look and slammed the door in the pegasus' face. Derpy stomped her hoof. She's had enough. "I'll just tell the boss I don't feel well." Derpy groaned, as she flew to the post office. The boss looked unconvinced, but let Derpy go.
Derpy flew in the air, trying to clear her mind. She accidentally bumped into another pegasus, which earned her a glare and a curse. "Sorry!" Derpy called out. She sighed heavily. Why dd everypony have to judge her so quickly? Derpy shook her head to put the thoughts away and flew on.
"Hi Derpy!" Pinkie Pie called out from below.
Derpy smiled and waved, not looking where she was going, she crashed into something soft, but firm. Derpy fell a few feet before landing on a cloud. She heard a yelp and a thud. She looked down and gasped. Derpy flew down to the odd creature and gave him a nervous smile as he rubbed his back.
"I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!" Derpy repeated over and over.
I was relaxing in my little world, literately. My home is a separate universe where I can create chaos with the flick of my wrist. A place of solitude and isolation. A place I like to call home. A place that makes me feel lonely. I was sitting in my thinking tree, that's where I do most of my deep thinking, and I was pondering about love, which was abnormal even for my standards.
I've seen ponies fall in love, get married, have foals, and die together. The whole story. I know every love story in history. It's hard not to, since I've lived for over 1,000 years.
Anyway, I kept thinking about love more often than I should've. Ever since Fluttershy reformed me, I've been aching for more friends, but didn't know how to act, and I still don't know. Now, my heart yearns for a mare friend.
Gag!
It always disgusts me to think about it, but deep down inside of me, I'm in pain.
I decided to leave my universe of chaos and take a stroll, maybe create some chocolate rain for Pinkie or have a picnic with Fluttershy. I hopped out of my tree and landed on the soft, yet firm, pink checkered ground. I snapped my eagle talons and a door appeared in front of me. It suddenly sprouted arms and opened it's door for me. I walked through and ended up back into Equestria.
As I walked around, I kept seeing a grey pegasus. She had a messy blonde mane and bubbles for a cutie mark. I've always seen her around and payed no mind before, but now...
I followed her for a bit, just because I was curious. I saw her fly to Rainbow Dash's domain. She was cheering the rude pegasus on, when she accidentally broke her mailbox. I was a bit distraught. It was a complete accident, and Dashie was extremely rude. After the blonde pony left, I scolded Rainbow Dash and left her standing there, wallowing in her guilt.
Fluttershy did the same thing, but I scolded her too, but then took it back because I found out about the whole "assertive" situation. After scolding Twilight too, I lost the pony, but shrugged it off.
I saw Pinkie Pie talking to Applejack. I waited for the cowgirl to leave, before making it rain chocolate milk on the party pony.
"Discord?! Where are you?! Can you make it rain strawberry milkshake too?!"
I chuckled to myself, granting Pinkie's wish. I flew up ahead of her and she suddenly waved at somepony in front of me. Before I could look, the pony crashed into me. I fell from the air and landed on my back. I looked up and the grey pegasus I was following was pleading for my forgiveness.
Those eyes.
Those crossed eyes. They were so different, so abnormal,
so...
beautiful.
