There we were in the closet, alone together and breathing heavily. Between the rum somepony put in the punch without my knowledge and my already existing affections for her, Scootaloo looked pretty hot in her Wonderbolts costume. I mentally slapped myself for thinking that.
Her sunset purple hair brushed my shoulders as my cheeks colored. "Sil, you said there was something you wanted to tell me."
Ponyfeathers. Now's good a time as any, I guess. "Scoots....I kinda like you. Ever since we grew up, and we all became friends, and I started to get to know you better, I've...liked you. Like...like you, like you."
She stared at me. Then stared at the ground. Back to me. "Between you and me, you're all kinds of awesome, too."
We just stared at each other for....about two minutes after that. I could see in her rosy eyes that this wasn't a joke, she returned my affections, at least enough to...want to be my marefriend and such.
"So...what do we do now?" I asked, breaking the dank silence.
"You wanna kiss? They kiss in the movies after they confess their love." A quirky smile tugged at Scoot's mouth.
"I...guess if you want to."
Then we were kissing. Scootaloo's mouth tasted like punch, with a slightly bitter taste of alcohol. To this day I wonder what my mouth tasted like to her. The music I could still hear through the door faded to a blur of white noise as we kissed, tongue wrestling and swapping spit. We broke the kiss to suck in air, then lunged back in, both of us desperate to experience the fantastic pleasure that was making out.
Her hands moved to my back as she unzipped my top, tossing it aside. Underneath I wore a white tank. My hands reached around to her wings as I skimmed my fingers across them, tickling her feathers ever so gently. She squealed. I laughed.
"If that doesn't mean we're fillyfriends now, then I don't know what does." Scootaloo's smile meant the world to me right then. Her tail brushed my leg, and I returned it. I wanted more contact, I wanted to feel her body against my own. I wanted that so much.
"Is it a bad thing that I really want you to touch me some more?" I asked tentatively.
"We're fillyfriends now. Touching each other is kind of a given." She hugged me, tickling the base of my spine. I giggled.
Scoots leaned up against the closet wall and blew a tuft of hair out of her face. "How do we tell everyone else?"
"We tell it to them straight, pardon my pun. At some point, they're going to catch us kissing and want answers, and then they'll be upset that we didn't tell them before." I scooted a little closer to her. "It's best to just get it over with. Of course, if you aren't ready yet, we could kiss some more." I shot her a flirty smile in the hopes of cheering her up a little.
"I guess that is the easiest way of going about it." She leaned against me. "I wouldn't mind more kisses either."
I wrapped my arms around her neck, tugging my hairband out. "You wanna make out or just kiss normally?"
"Who says we have to do just one or the other?" A sly smile stretched across her face as she leaned in.
"Ah-hem."
I turned around to see Diamond Tiara standing in the door, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle flanking her. Sweetie was trying to hide her giggles, Apple Bloom was shaking her head, and Diamond was wearing her Seriously, Silver? face.
"Heh, hi DT." I smiled sheepishly, aware that I had lost every shred of dignity the second they had all seen me topless with my braid undone, sitting on a box about to make out with Scootaloo. Admittedly, I was still wearing a tank, so there was hope left.
"When we noticed y'all disappeared, we set to work findin' ya. Didn't think we'd find y'all ready to get down and dirty." She snickered.
"Hey, we were just kissing." Scootaloo held up her hands in defense.
"Since when are you two an item?" Diamond asked with a condescending air, a teasing smirk in her eyes.
"Since tonight." I shot back, standing up and hugging Scoots. "I have a thing for future Wonderbolts." Scoots blushed.
"I think you two are pretty cute together." Sweetie smiled.
"We meant to tell you all earlier, but I guess the cat's out of the bag now." Scootaloo shrugged.
"Well, why don't you both get it together and come out to enjoy the rest of the party?" Diamond suggested, walking off. "There'll be time for make out sessions later."
I tugged my cheerleader top back on and did up my braid, brushing myself off. Scootaloo stared at me. "Doesn't Diamond pushing you around get annoying?"
"Not really. She's actually kinda nice, when no one but me is around." Sure, she could be a piece of work, but she got her cutie mark in being a leader. Come on now.
"If you say so. But if she gives my fillyfriend a hard time, she's gonna have me to answer to." She pointed to her chest. "Nopony's going to mess with you on my watch, Silvy."
Silvy. I repeated that nickname in my head all the way to the snack table. Silvy, Silvy, Silvy. Scootaloo really is the second-coolest pony in Ponyville.
For a while we just hung out around there, sharing small kisses whenever no one was looking. We even danced, though we earned a few strange looks.
"Hey, Silvy." That nickname sent a flutter through my chest again.
"What?"
"You wanna sleep over? Both my parents are away on business, if you leave before ten in the morning no one will know you were there."
"And we can kiss all we want?" I smiled sneakily.
"All we want."
Three guesses what my answer was.
