In the mountain ranges that surround Equestria and the Crystal Empire lives more than just Dragons and Griffons. Deep within the mountain of Looming Shadows, there lies a complex cave system that would leave even dogs in awe to the construction. And yes, even outside of the caves the mountain is concealed in dark clouds that never seem to go away, as black as shadows…for which the mountain was named after.

Here, is the beginning and the continuation of a different species of ponies. A species of ponies that have a horrific appearance and origin, but have powers and an undying loyalty to Luna that keep Equestria save from a threat that would otherwise engulf it.

This, is the life of one of these mysterious ponies, Duskwing, as he helps fight this darkness that only his people can fight.
