Moving In and Meeting Pinkie
Pinkie Pie walked down the small road that went past the newly constructed apartments. She smiled and waved at the tenants, most of which either knew her or knew of her. She stopped in front of 204, though, when she saw the moving carriage that she'd seen in front of the other apartments when those neighbors moved in. She smiled and thought Wow, a new pony! I should go say hi to him! before walking up to the door and knocking. A pony in paint-stained overalls opened the door.
"H-hello?" he said in a soft, shy voice. He looked the strange, pink, cotton candy-haired pony in the eyes and waited for a response.
"Hi! My names Pinkamena Diane Pie, but my friends just call me Pinkie Pie! Anyway, I saw the moving carriage in front of your house and thought 'Oh it's a new pony I should go make him feel welcome' and so I walked up to your door and knocked and you opened it and-"
"Um, Pinkie, could you please slow down a bit?" He shifted uncomfortably, obviously not fond of the overalls or of the new pony rambling to him.
Pinkie nodded energetically. "Of course! What's your name?"
He smiled softly. "Klutz. Klutz Klatter."
She extended a hoof towards him, which he shook. "It's nice to meet you, Klutz. Where are you from?"
"Fillydelphia." He looked around for a second. "Do you want to come in? I kinda feel bad about you sitting outside like that."
She smiled. "Okie dokie lokie!" He opened the door and she walked in.
The first thing she noticed was the fresh paint on the walls and the plastic on the newly placed furniture. Then a broken lamp on a table caught her eye. "What happened to that lamp?" she asked.
Klutz looked at it. "It's my mother's. Still works, but she shattered it a couple of years ago. She's where I get my clumsy-ness." He walked over to a plastic covered couch in front of a plastic covered table and across from a plastic covered TV.
Pinkie sat down next to him. "You don't seem clumsy! You seem rather sure of yourself." she said happily.
He smiled. "I'm in my own home, I don't have anything to worry about. Most of my stuff is bolted to the floors or made of plastic or rubber, so I can't break much of anything." he said, looking down to the plastic covered coffee table where a plastic mug sat, steam rising out of it. He picked it up and took a sip before setting it down. "Plus the vanilla tea helps keep me focused."
Pinkie shifted a little closer to Klutz. "What brings you to Ponyville, Mr. Klatter?"
"I need a job and dad said Ponyville was a good place to look. Why do you ask?"
Pinkie smiled and shrugged. "I guess you could say I'm kind of the town greeter. When anypony new arrives, I make them feel welcome and throw a huge 'Welcome To Ponyville' party. Those are fun."
Klutz smiled at the pink pony. "I'd like a party. That'd be fun. Just make sure there's nothing breakable." He chuckled softly.
Pinkie looked over to him and giggled. "You seem like a great guy! I can't wait to throw this party for you!"
"And I can't wait to have it!" He held up a hoof towards Pinkie, who quickly high-fived him. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to finish moving in. Send me an invite to the party when you can!"
Pinkie nodded and hopped up. "Bye for now, Klutz!" She walked out the door and back down the street.
Klutz chuckled to himself. "I think I'm gonna like it here if everybody is as nice as her!" He finishes his vanilla tea and relaxes on the sofa, waiting for the paint to dry.
