I know that, have the citizens been safely evacuated. Yes my lord, everyone of them. Seven figures stood in the throne room of a castle. Three of them stood bipedal, while clothed with armor and armed with garish weapons. The others stood on four legs, covered with fur, and extruding a horn from the forehead and a pair of wings from their backs. Two of them where almost as tall as the bipedal figures while the others came only to their shins. They were adorned with regal attire and crowns made of glistening gold, a true mark of royalty. The king and queen both had fiery red manes while the two fillies seemed to be the opposite of each other. One had a white coat with flowing, rainbow colored hair. Whilst the other was a deep blue with the glistening of stars in her mane. The bipedals stood magnificently in their armor. One was shorter than the rest armed with a bow and a hunting blade, while wearing only a breast plate and grieves, which allowed for increased mobility. Another stood taller than the others with only a cloth outfit for armor while holding two blades with two small, hand-held crossbows strapped to the small of his back. The third and final form was adorned in a full set of armor while carrying an ancient firearm on his back, along with a great sword at his hip, and a heavy cannon in his arms. Their names in the order described were Amadeus Beethoven, Steven Einstein, and (as he had told the rulers, who beheld much skepticism) Biggus Dickus. Steven turned toward the Equines and begged them to leave at once. Deciding that it was the best choice the rulers turned to flee with their offspring when with a crash three goblins slammed through the windows. At their attempts to flee the goblins chased after the King and Queen only to be skewered, sliced, and utterly obliterated by the bipedals. As they lay slain the Equines saw their chance and hurried to escape, only for more and more goblins charged through the windows and broke through the door with a thunderous crash. More and more came as more and more fell and with each stroke, each shot, each smash the two-footed creatures drew weary. Finally, seeing them over-whelmed a stray goblin managed to break through and give chase. Amadeus saw this and fired an arrow after it only to watch in despair as it fell short due to his tiredness. The goblin now alerted to being found out primed a green device and hurled with all its might towards the ponies. With a sound of thunder a wave of green splashed upon the Queen vaporizing her instantly. Upon seeing this the King gave a cry of despair and charged the goblin only to be stabbed by a knife the goblin had concealed. As the goblin raised its dagger once more to deliver the killing blow..........it's head fell off. Steven ran up to the King to inspect the wound. It wasn't deep but the wound held traces of poison. Upon this discovery Steven estimated that since the dose that had entered the bloodstream was small, Steven estimated that the King only had about six years left to live, without any accidents of course. The King crawled over to the ashes that had once been his wife, and with a knowing nod from Steven and used the power of his despair to cast a teleportation spell that took him and his now motherless daughters deep into the Everfree. Steven then, with a glance of accepting from his comrades took out a small tube. He knew that upon smashing the tube would split the atom of magical energy within unleashing a blast from which any hope of survival would then be lost. Knowing this, he took and threw it on the ground. One year later the king would return to discover the wreckage of his old home. He had hoped to find the bodies of anypony he could to be put in a final resting place. Heading into the deepest part of the crater that used to be his kingdom he discovered three sets of weapons and armor shining as if freshly made. He decided that for their sacrifice he would honor as making the  " Guardians of Equestria" and cast a spell on the gear so that only the ones who were worthy could access the relics. Putting them in a special vault under his new castle he went to his daughters and held them close for he knew his time was nearly done and bid them farewell as he went to oversee the construction of the city that surrounded the castle which was hidden well deep in the Everfree.
