One Sentence. A Thousand Reactions.
"I'm so happy! Today's the day Pinkie promised to go pranking with me! Heck, Hearts and Hooves Day may be unfitting, but surely we'll have fun!" Rainbow Dash said as she flew to SugarCube Corner, full of glee.
"Oh, hi Dashie." Pinkie responded glumly, her mane drooping a bit.
"Hey Pinkie! Happy Hearts and Hooves Day! Anyway, I was hoping we could go pranking. So, are you up to it? Whoa, Pinkie are ya alright?" Dash asked, concern in her eyes.
"...Yeah. I am." Pinkie responded quickly, trotting behind the counter, and going up the steps slowly.
"Are you sure? You know you can tell me anything, right?" Dash was full of worry now.
Pinkie didn't respond. She continued to trot up to her room, looking for it. She found it and went back downstairs.
Tears were in her eyes as she managed to lift up the card.
Dash took it, and read it slowly.
Dashie, will you be my special somepony? Please be honest. I've always loved you. Like, like like you.
Love, Pinkie.
Dash's magenta eyes blinked slowly, and gazing up at the pink mare, saw tears streaming down her face, and noticed her face was red with blush.
Dash thought a bit, and hugged her friend tight, and whispered in her ear, "Yes. I will. I love you Pinks."
Pinkie smiled softly at her reddened face cyan friend, but then her heart sunk. "Uh...Dashie?" she gulped.
"Yes?"
"Um...there's kinda a thing I have to tell you."
"What is it, Pinkie?" replied Dash, her wing around Pinkie.
"..."
Tears were streaming down the pink mare's face as she tried to choke out the words.
"Pinkie? I'm worried about you...you seem so insecure and you'd feel a lot better if you just let it out."
"Dashie, I'm a monster, okay?! How's that for an answer? Because that's the reason. And I couldn't just couldn't tell you Dashie. I love you so much. But I knew if I hadn't told you soon, I could hurt you. Real bad. And then I could never forgive myself. Never. Now. Leave me. Alone. Go. Forget. All. Of. The. Memories. And. Plans. Now." Pinkie yelled, tears falling to the ground as she stomped her hooves.
"How, are you a monster?" Dash was stunned as the words fell out of her mouth like a waterfall.
"I-I...can't tell you why! You'd hate me for eternity!"
"Please? I promise I won't." Dash knew that if Pinkie was crying, something was seriously wrong.
"I'm a..." Pinkie choked out the two words slowly throughout sniffling and tears.
"Yes?"
"W-w..." Pinkie was sweating now.
"Almost there." Dash responded.
"Werepony." The words burst from Pinkie's mouth like a balloon pop, and she began to cry harder.
"Pinkie? You...? A werepony?" Dash stifled a laugh, then saw the seriousness in her friends ice blue eyes.
"Like, a half wolf pony monster at full moons?" Dash asked, trying to make sure she was right.
"Y-yeah. I don't exactly eat animals or meat. Since I'm a sweet tooth pony, I eat sweets." Pinkie whispered, her gaze at the ground.
"That's not so bad." Dash was so overwhelmed with how this even happened.
