Life in the Regular Guard is as dull as it gets most of the time; the immature and inexperienced newbies make work life difficult for everyone around them, and everyone usually means everyone.

Shady Point is one of these immature, hard-headed ponies who thinks he has what it takes to grab the world by the reigns, and throw it into the dirt. As per routine, he and his ilk are ignored by the captains of the Royal Guard and the princess alike. That is, however, until Shady Point's heart strings start to pull at the sight of one of Celestia's aides. A rather unique changeling named Sparkfree.

It's Hearts and Hooves day, and Shady Point is about to try something that will make life very difficult for everyone involved.
