//-------------------------------------------------------// Merchent343's Short Stories -by Merchent343- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// C1 - Myself and I //-------------------------------------------------------// C1 - Myself and I Why, hello there! Oh, don't mind me. I'm just your friend local Lord of Chaos. Who is currently trapped inside of his own head. While some long-lost eldritch abomination takes control of his body and used it to wreck sweet, destructive chaos. And not the fun type, either. With this possession, it's all 'Turn into that, explode from this'. Come on, where's the originality? The worst part of this? I agreed to it! Of course, I didn't read that little line on the contract, where the little daemon who decided to have a joy ride with my body could take control of it if I didn't follow the rules. And fo course I didn't! I'm a Lord of Chaos, see? I don't have any rules, period! And now, the only way for me to regain my body is a double stone banishment. Which means that, unless the Tree of Harmony decides to banish me, free me, and then repeat that once more, I am stuck with this... Insufferable being controlling my power! I heard that. Humph. So you did. Well, in any case, my body seems to be busy burning down a village. I mean, who uses fire? Water is in season for burning, my dears! Or was that helium? Bah, forget it. I guess I'll just sit this out. And with the current lack of heroes, who knows? Maybe I'll be stuck in here for an eternity. Wouldn't that be an experience? And maybe, just maybe, I'll get lucky. //-------------------------------------------------------// C1 - Inanimate Minds //-------------------------------------------------------// C1 - Inanimate Minds King Sombra was in pain. "Get out of my head, infernal Crystals." He growled. "I need your advice no longer. The Crystal Empire is back, and it shall be mine." You can't You wouldn't You never could We don't think you can It would destroy you Impossible *Unthinkable You couldn't* Really? You're doing this now? I can't believe you! You always needed our help before! You will not deny us! Sombra recoiled as if struck: The Voices would not be denied. He couldn't... They had given him everything. Ever since he touched them, he had risen from poor miner to ruler. So why was part of his mind still resisting. Focus! A dozen voices screamed out at once, pushing his doubts deep into his soul. Yes, he would do everything they said. The Crystals and Voices were always right. Always right. Sombra focus his energy, transforming his very being into a could of dark energy. He let out a massive road, shaking the countryside and echoing through the Crystal Empire. Their King had returned. //-------------------------------------------------------// C1 - Controlled, Yet Free //-------------------------------------------------------// C1 - Controlled, Yet Free The vines could sense it, the particular style of magic visible at this distance. Even as their brothers corrupted the Tree of Harmony, they could sense the magic of the Hated One. The female who had defeated their master, and imprisoned him. So, they all agreed, why not imprison them? It took only minutes for the vines to accomplish this, succeeding even as their master had failed. As so, they waited. And waited. The creatures spread across the landscape feared them, as they swarmed over their structures and disrupted their lives. But why should the vines have cared? Their master could be sensed nearby, and didn't even seem to be stopping them, so why should they stop? They spread over the landscape like a wildfire, with only scattered creatures daring to attack them. Even as they were winning ground, however, some of their brothers fell silent. The vines worried as one of them grew ever closer, heading for their source. They would stand their ground and make their master proud. It was what he would have wanted. //-------------------------------------------------------// C1 - Deal with a Devil //-------------------------------------------------------// C1 - Deal with a Devil Come on, you know you want to accept the deal. The Voice said sweetly. The Princess of the Night looked hesitantly at the form of their greatest enemy, and her greatest hope. Ponies had always ignored her, but this was a chance! A chance to bring understanding to them! So why was she hesitating? It's your only chance, you know. The Voice confirmed, as if echoing her thoughts. Your sister will never let you rise to your proper place. If we work together, we can bring understanding to the ponies of Equestria! And yet, why were the Voice's words so cold, so bereft of emotion? No matter how much honey the Voice baited its' words with, the Princess still felt as if they had a barb attached. If you don't do this, you'll never have a pony who appreciates your night. The Voice warned. All of them prefer your sister. If you join with me, I will help you. All I need is your help in freeing me from this prison. Indeed, the former enemy of the Sisters lay trapped in stone, the wispy cloud of smoke frozen mid-flight. Slowly, hesitantly, the Princess reached out her hoof, touching the stone with it. Immediately, cracks spread across the surface, freeing the entity within. Luna felt an icy sensation as the cloud entered her mind, taking control over her body, and locking her mind inside. 'Art thou going to help Us now?' The Princess asked from within her mental prison. "Oh, yesss." The Voice confirmed, speaking through her mouth. "Now, let's greet your sister, shall we?" With the transfer done, the Voice wearing Luna's body walked out of the room, and started towards the throne room. Her goals were already in place, and she would not fail, not again! And, inside of the Voice's new body, the imprisoned soul of a jealous sister screamed. //-------------------------------------------------------// C1 - Into The Mind of a Changeling //-------------------------------------------------------// C1 - Into The Mind of a Changeling Cold. Queen Chrysalis gazed across the grassy field, as her surviving Changelings - no, her children - gathered themselves together after their disastrous defeat. Her bid for the survival of her species had failed. Casting her gaze down, she noticed the limp body of one of her children, lying prone at her hooves. What, she mused, led them to sacrifice themselves for her? What did they think, inside of their minds? She had conversed with hundreds, but she was no closer to finding out than she was all those years ago, when she had been... Corrupted into her current form. "My Queen!" One of her Changelings said, walking up to her. "Yes, my child?" Chrysalis replied. The Changeling bowed his head. "We are ready to leave, Your Majesty." Chrysalis did not acknowledge him, instead looking out at the field, at the scattered bodies of her swarm, and at the emancipated survivors that were left. "My Queen?" Her Changeling, her very child, asked. "Let us leave." Chrysalis ordered, her swarm quickly gathering and heading in the direction of the Hive. As she walked at the lead, she cast one final glance back at the field, the grave for the final hopes of the Changelings. And in particular at one Changeling, finally at peace.
