Twilight will you be my valentine
Moonlight shone through the windows of Golden Oak Library, creating strips of shimmering sparkling light. Twilight smiled to herself as she read about the history of Hearts and Hooves day, one of the best things to do on a special night. It was quite late but the lavender alicorn didn't mind, she was getting up to her favourite part.
The young prince called for the three best Pegasi to do his work. To fetch the ingredients to win the hoof of his lover.
"Armor-night, what is it that thou has called us for." The Pegasus asked obediently.
"To win the heart of thy dear Jasminestone thou must retrieve these." He bellowed handing them a scroll.
A drop of midnight cloud
A bright rainbows glow
Stir with a Pegasus feather with the heart of gold
Must be fast not slow.
(Note midnight cloud makes potion stronger)
The three set off to retrieve the ingredients for thou Princess. A skilled Earth-pony blacksmith crossed the young princes path.
"You sir!" Shouted the prince from his mighty castle. "Make me two cups, one silver with sapphires, crystals and topaz in them. The other must be pure gold with opal and aquamarine embedded in them, you must obey me for I am the prince of this land and you must obey or pay the price."
The blacksmith paused and thought for a moment, he agreed but only if he could choose one item of the castles most treasured treasures.
Twilight skimmed through the page to get to the good part she liked, when Armor-night makes the potion, adding more and more midnight cloud.
The ingredients were placed onto a tray of gold. Each Pegasus ripped out a feather, the one the prince chose would be used to mix into the potion.
"This one!" He roared, and in an aura of gold he levitated a grey feather with gold tips.
"This is my fathers feather ripped from his wings, you are all unworthy of this task!"
The rainbow filled the jar to the rim and sparkled until the midnight cloud was added, turning it shades of red and pink.
A satisfying sizzle roared as the midnight cloud was added and poured into the cups. The sweet aroma whiffed from the cups Into the princes nose, making the potion irresistible. He figured the more cloud the stronger it would become, every bit more added it hissed louder making the aroma absolutely irresistible, in fact he added so much he had to use special gold lids to stop himself drinking it.
The light purple pony couldn't help smile, she loved the story of how hearts and hooves day originated.

Laying on a cloud just over the library rainbow dash was thinking aloud to herself.
"Come on dash, do it, she is giving me all the signs she likes me right?" Dash muttered to herself.
She felt the chilly night breeze through her mane and drenched in twilight moonlight.
"I mean, she asks me to read with her all the time, always asking if she wants me to come along with her to lunch hugging me."
The rainbow Pegasus took a deep breath and sighed. Her worried look was replaced with a smile.
"Ok here it goes!"
Rainbow Dash did a few barrel fools and then aimed to fly straight through twilights window, this time it was on purpose. The Pegasus landed right next to twilight, making her jump.
Twilight looked down to see Rainbow giving her an insistent face, then sticking her tongue out at her. The lavender alicorn rolled her eyes, ignoring her friends antics and continued to read, seeing the Pegasus curiously taking a peek. Dash looked at twilights royal purple eyes and smiled.
The cyan Pegasus looked around a bit and then shuffled closer to Twilight. Seeing she didn't mind she started shuffling a but closer until there shoulders were touching.
This is my chance! the Pegasus said to herself. She stretched her wings out and moved a bit closer to the alicorn, sitting down again next to her lightly wrapping a wing around Twilight.
The purple alicorns ears pricked up and turned to see Rainbows wings wrapped around her. She looked back at Rainbow dash and they were muzzle to muzzle. Twilights ears dropped slightly.
Dash gave twilight a small grin and leaned forward and pressed her lips against twilights soft cheek and a bit on the alicorns silky lips. Twilights ears pricked right up and her eyes were wide open and her cheeks turned a cherry red. Dash pulled her head away and saw Twilights face, she was shocked and the alicorn shook her head very slightly.
"I'm sorry twilight" dash mumbled, dropping her ears and her face fell along with it.
She opened her wings and headed to the door, ashamed and sad. Twilight reached out a hoof to stop her, she dropped her own hears and had a sad expression on her face. The pony lifted a hoof to her cheek. Pure bliss filled her heart and she knew that maybe she did love rainbow dash after all.
Rainbow sadly walked to the door, pushing it open feeling tears drip from her face, her ears dropped again but she lifted her head up trying to be strong but her heart felt heavy and she dropped her head and her ears feeling tears fall from her eyes like a waterfall.
She reached a hoof onto the cold misty grass. She opened her wings and proceeded to take flight. She was pulled back by a powerful force. Dash dug her hooves into the ground desperate to remain where she was. She lowered her head but it shot right back up as the magenta aura pulled her by her tail.
The cyan Pegasus tucked her hooves and back legs in tight, she knew that Twilight would scowl at her.
The rainbow Pegasus nervously wrapped a hoof around the one supporting her and sunk her head down low, she flickered her tail around. It surprised dash slightly that a lavender hoof reached under her chin and pulled it up so she was face to face with twilight.
The alicorn smiled comfortingly at dashes upset expression. Twilight slowly closed her eyes and pressed her lips against dashes making the Pegasus' ears and wings prick up and her eyes slowly dropped. The alicorn broke the kiss and dash reached in again, feeling silky soft lips against her own. They both broke the second kiss at the same time and smiled at each other, leaning in for a hug.
"I love you Dashie" twilight whispered, still hugging.
"I love you too Twily" she whispered back.
The night Princess flew over the library and smiled at the sight of the two ponies together. She moved the moon so the light was shining on them. Princess Luna looked up into the moon and whispered quietly to herself.
"I wish you were here."
She proceeded to fly off after that leaving twilight and rainbow dash, snuggling together in front of the warm fire on a chilly hearts and hooves night.
