Truly I will never know myself.”  The shadowy being thinks out loud sitting under a street light. “Am I an evil being? Is what I do evil? I look the part for sure.” It looks at itself. The being is tall with clawed fingers and round white eyes. Its shadowy skin was steaming in the light of the street light as if it was acid. “What I wouldn’t do for some light that wouldn’t kill me...” A vine of Darkness shot out and hit the street light shattering the glass. The shards fell down onto its shoulder where they just sank into its dark skin harmlessly. Suddenly a burst of purple light shown in the dark sky. “What? What is that?” It stood and gazed at the light. “It does not burn... It is....beautiful.” It reached up trying to grasp it in its Dark hands. “Such light.... So warm....” A dark sphere surrounded the being and shot up towards the light. --------Twilight------- Twilight’s horn stopped glowing and she groaned. It’s not working!” She sighed and wrote something down on some paper. “Well what did you expect Twi? Looking at other worlds is hard even for a pony with your kind of magic.” Spike was laying on the grassy ground his hands behind his head. “I know but I’m just so curious! What if there are magical advances in those other worlds? I just need to know.” Twilights horn glowed again a bit brighter this time. After a few seconds it died and Twilight looked up with wide eyes. “What the?” “What?” Spike sat up from his lounging. Twilight looked at him with a confused look. “Something just took all the power I put into that one.” They both looked at each other then out of nowhere a dark colored pony fell right in front of them. “Ow, I can feel pain now? What is this world?” The being got up shakily. “ARGH!” It growled and fell over steam rising from its body. Twilight looked at this pony with wide eyes, it was a dark colored unicorn with a main that looked like it was made of pure shadows, when it spoke its mouth and inside its mouth was pure white along with its eyes. “T-the light...” It spoke again then Twilight finally came back to reality. “Hold on!” Her horn glowed and it slowly floated into the air. Twilight hurried into the library and shut the curtains and turned off the lights. The being slowly rose to all four hooves still a bit wobbly. “Are you alright? You’re not hurt are you?” It was a bit dark but she could still see him moving around. “Who are you? What is this place? And why do I have four legs?” He looked down at his hooves then back up to Twilight, his face unreadable. “Well I’m Twilight Sparkle and you’re in the Ponyville library, and you have four legs because you’re a pony.” She gave it a confused look. “And who may I ask are you?” It looked at her a moment then looked up. “I have been given many names, but the one I like the most is Shade. It is pleasant to meet you Twilight Sparkle.” Shade did a little bow then fell forward on his face. “I never had four legs before...It’s annoying.” He got back up. “So....” Twilight looked to the side trying to think of something to talk about. “How did you get here?” Shades white eyes looked up at her from his hooves. “I saw a purple light from my world, and it didn’t burn.” His voice sounded like multiple ponies were talking and this made Twilight shiver, this thing wasn’t a pony. “Being a shadow made of nothing but darkness, I am feared by all, born from darkness. And you know what? The darkness is a scary place.” A smiled crept onto Shade’s face. “So it’s only natural to run from your fears. Everywhere I ran the darkness followed, and when I found light to hide from it, I was burned and torn and thrown back into the Dark. It was painful.” Twilight felt a bit bad but also terrified. A being of darkness? What if he’s evil? She lit a candle and levitated close to her. Shade didn’t seem to mind but it kept him from getting close. “Maybe I should write a letter to the princess.” She thought out loud walking up the stairs. Shade, having nothing better to do, followed her a few paces behind due to the brightness of the candle. Twilight placed the candle on a table and hopped up onto the bed laying down. She was about to levitate some paper and a quill over when she found them suddenly right in front of her. “What?” She saw Shade backing up away from the two objects. “Um.... Thank you.” She smiled. “No trouble.” Shade nodded and looked around. Twilight took the quill and paper with her magic and started writing when she got a sudden idea. “Say, Shade?” He looked at her. “How would you like to stay here? Maybe I could help you find a way so you don’t get hurt when you go outside.” A smiled cracked onto his face. “I accept your offer Twilight Sparkle.” His voice got a bit more cheerful. Twilight laughed lightly. ‘Oh what am I doing? He could kill me in my sleep for all I know, something like that living in my house? I am making a very stupid choice.’ she thought as she wrote down on the paper about what she learned about hospitality. "The guest room is down the hall." He nodded and walked down the hall and into the guest room. "Oh this is going to be a long night." She sighed and went to look for Spike to have him send the letter. A/N: Maybe my faithful editor. except....wait no spoilers. sorry. //-------------------------------------------------------// meeting Rainbow Dash //-------------------------------------------------------// meeting Rainbow Dash That night Twilight was laying in her bed watching her door intently, waiting to see if Shade would come in to end her. “You know if you don’t trust the guy then why did you let him stay instead of telling the princess?” Spike yawned sitting up in his little bed. “I don’t know, there’s that little part about it that seems almost.....Pony, like he doesn’t want to hurt anypony but the way he looks...” She also sat up looking down at Spike with worried eyes. “What if he does decides to hurt us? What if he decides to hurt all of Ponyville?” Spike put up his fist and grinned. “Don’t worry Twi! If he dos then I’ll handle him!” Twilight smiled softly. “I bet you could Spike.” She looked out the window and into the night sky. She didn’t expect to see Shade sitting on the ground below looking up at the moon. The light the moon was giving off made him easier to see, Twilight thought she couldn’t see him before and just thought his pelt was black but no it was all dark! His eyes were still pitch white and gazing up, unmoving, at the moon as if under a spell. “What’s he doing?” She wondered out loud. “What?” Spike jumped up onto her bed and looked out the window as well. “Dude that’s creepy, he’s just sorta sitting there with a blank stare.” He shuddered a bit and went back into his bed. “Let’s hope he stay out there.” Just then steam started raising of his body. “I’m going to go check on him.” Twilight jumped out of her bed and walked for the door. “Be careful Twi.” She nodded and went down stairs and to the front door. “*Sigh* Here we go...” She opened the front door and stepped out into the cool night air. She looked around and took a step forward. When she was fully outside she closed the door and walked around the tree house to where Shade was sitting. “Um hey Shade, what are you doing out here? It’s freezing.” He looked at her then back to the moon. “Admiring the Light.” His voice was in a somewhat whisper. “The only time I can truly gaze on its beauty is now, without it hurting me to an unbearable state.” His voice sent shivers up her spine. “And for the fact that it’s cold helps sooth the burning.” He looked at her then to the ground. “I wish I could find that light that did not burn, the one that drove me here.” Twilight had taken notice of the sadness in his voice now. “Well....” She had to think, telling him she would help him find this ‘light’ would have him around longer and more possibility of threat but telling him that she couldn’t help would hurt his feelings. “......I’ll help you.” She declared. He looked up at her his eyes a bit wider. “Y-you will?” He seemed excited. This made Twilight smile. “Yes! Now let’s get you inside before you......burn to death.” She herded him inside and into his room. “Tomorrow I will look for a spell to remove that thing you have with the light burning.” Another smiled broke its way onto his face. “Well, goodnight.” “Goodnight Twilight Sparkle.” He crawled into the bed and the white orbs that are his eyes closed. Twilight went back into her room and saw Spike sleeping soundly. She smiled and jumped into her bed. Maybe this won’t be as bad as she thought. “Twilight.” Spike poked Twilights side. “Twi.” Twilight let out a muffled ‘what?’. “Shade is downstairs looking at the books. I thought you would like to know.” Twilight shot up. “He’s just looking at them?” He nodded and she sighed. “Well at least none of the girls are coming over...” As if on cue the door to the front door burst open and the voice of Rainbow Dash called. “Hey Twi I’m here to take the next Daring....” She stopped and then screamed. Twilight and Spike shot down the stairs and saw Dash bucking at Shade like she was on fire. “WHAT DID YOU DO WITH TWI!?” She screamed again hitting Shade right in the jaw. “If you would look to your left you would see what happened.” He said calmly as if he was never hit. Dash looked over to Twilight with a look of joy. “TWILIGHT!” She hug tackled her. “Oh I thought that monster ate you or something and was messing with your books or something!” She looked up at Shade. “What is that thing? Some sorta spell gone wrong?” Twilight shook her head and pushed Dash off of her. “You could say he’s my guest and you hit him in the jaw!” She walked over to Shade and took his face in her hoof. “Are you alright?” She was checking where he got kicked. “I am alright Twilight Sparkle.” He looked over at Dash which made her flinch. “Who are you?” “I-I’m Rainbow Dash! Fastest flyer in all Equestria!” She struck a pose. “And what the heck are you?” He stared at her blankly. “Ok....Who are you?” “Twilight Sparkle has chosen to call me Shade.” He looked at Twilight who had let go of his face. “Well what are you even doing here?” Dash continued with a raised eyebrow. “I was looking for a light. Twilight Sparkle could you close the door?” Twilight nodded and closed the door. It was almost pitch black. “What the hay did you do that for?” Dash looked at Twilight. “Well the light burns him and well we don’t want to seem rude.” Dash gave her a look then looked back at Shade. “So why do you need to stay and Twi’s house? Can’t you just find a cave somewhere?” Shade pondered this then shook his head. “I am not one to reject kindness. That is truly rude.”He turned back to the open book on the table. Dash flew over to Twilight and whispered. “Real keeper you got there.” Twilight blushed. “Hey it’s not like that! I’m just helping the poor guy.” Dash dragged her outside. “‘He’? How do you know it’s a he?” Twilight was getting a bit mad. "Because he told me himself! Why can’t you be a bit understanding?” “Look at him! He looks like something from a horror story!” That was agreeable. “But he’s no monster! He hasn’t hurt anypony at all since he’s been here and I don’t think he will any time soon!” They stood there arguing for some time until Dash finally calmed down. “Fine fine, let’s just let the others see him. What is it?” “Well it just that we want you to our friends.” Twilight smiled warmly. “Just so they know your here.” Shade nodded and took a step forward when Dash stopped him. “Easy fella, we arn’t going to make you walk in the daylight. We’ll go get them and meet you back here ok?” He nodded again and stepped back. Twilight and Dash left and he returned to the book. Spike came down the stairs making Shade jump. “For a dragon with short legs you move faster then I can in the dark.” Spike giggled a bit. “Ya, so you better not try anything to hurt me or Twi.” He looked at Spike with his wide white eyes. “What makes you think I would do that?” He tilted his head. “Well look at you! You don’t look really friendly.” Shade looked at himself then nodded. “Good point, but I haven’t hurt Twilight Sparkle or Rainbow Dash. Even when Rainbow Dash assaulted me.” Spike nodded. “It must take a lot of self control to not lash out at her.” “You have no idea.” He sighed and closed his eyes. Spike stared at him a while then spoke up. "So.....Um.... Do you want to play a game?” He opened his eyes and stared at Spike. “What kind of game?” Spike thought for a moment then snapped his scaly fingers. “How about chess! You seem to have the kind of mind to play that!” Shade thought about this as Spike went to go get everything. “Could you tell me the rules?” Twilight and Dash walked though Ponyville in silence. Twilight spoke first. “So who should we see first?” “Let’s get Rarity first. Then Pinkie and Applejack, then Fluttershy.” Twilight nodded as the came up to Rarity’s house. Dash knocked on the door. “It’s open!” Came a cheerful voice. They both walked in and saw Rarity working on some cloths. “Oh hello Twilight! Rainbow Dash! What brings you two here?” Twilight thought about what to say when Dash spoke up. “There’s a new pony in town thats kind of strange and we would like you and the others to meet him, if you could could you go on ahead and meet him at the library?” Rarity looked at the both of them for a while then nodded. “Alright dears, let me put everything away and I’ll head on over.” As she was doing so Twilight and Dash left to go find the others. Rarity got everything put away quick and went out the door with some equipment. “Might as well make him a new suite to welcome him!” “Your cheating,” “How would you know?” “You have more pieces on the board,” “So? Thats how the game is played! You got to get all your rivals pieces off the board along with the king!” “But you haven’t moved a single piece yet and I only have two more, the king and queen.” “So I win!” “Your cheating,” Spike facepalmed. “Geez you like a broke record! Fine we’ll start over with the REAL rules.” Shade broke a grin. “I knew you were cheating.” Spike put all the pieces on the board. “You can’t blame a guy for having some fun.” He laughed. A knock sounded at the door. “It’s open!” The door opened to a cheerful looking Rarity. “Hello Spiky-Wiky! Twilight and Dash told me about a new pony in Ponyville! So where is he-” She finally saw the large standing shadow looking down on Spike with it large white eyes. “So tell me the real rules now.....Hello? Spike?” Spike was staring at Rarity, then he turned his head to Shade and back again. “Rarity, Don’t freak out, I can explain everything!” “Then why don’t you? I still want to play.” Shade cut in with a grumpy tone. “Hold on Shade - WHA!” Spike suddenly shot over and behind Rarity. “Rarity?!” Rarity’s horn was glowing and she had a glare on her face. Spike jumped in front of her and extended his little arms. “Rarity stop your hurting him! He’s a friend!” She diden’t stop. “RARITY!” “Rarity......Stop....” It was to late, Shade had melted and sunk under a bookshelf. “Oh Twi is going to kill us....” Rarity let out a deep breath. “You mind telling me what THAT was?!” Rarity looked down at Spike with a raised eyebrow. “That WAS Shade, but you decided to melt him!” “Who melted me?” The voice sounded strained and tired. From the floor a shadow rose out of the cracks and there stood Shade, his eyes seemed to be a bit staticy. “Oh, now I remember.” He looked at Rarity. “You must not listen well. Spike was trying to talk to you.” Rarity was dumbfounded. “Ya! Rarity this is Shade, Shade this is Rarity.” Shade looked down at Spike. “You recovered fast.” Spike giggled. Rarity looked down at Spike then to Shade. “W-what are you?” Shade gave her a blank stare. Spike whispered in her ear. “He dosin’t know himself.” Rarity nodded slowly looking back to Shade who seems to have recovered. “So....Um Shade, why are you here?” “I’m looking for a light that does not burn. Your magic does not seem to be it.” He let out a sigh and sat down on the other side of the chess board. “Do you know how to play without cheating?” He looked back up at Rarity. “Why of course my dear. A smiled cracked onto his face (By this I mean a a white line went up like cracks forming a smile face.) and he shrugged. Spike was sitting in the corner eating a gem. “Naw he got lucky, here let me play. I’ll have him beat in no time!” He got up and took Rarity’s spot. “Are you sure you can play right?” Spike gave him a bemused look. “Ya I’m sure, just set up your pieces and I’ll show you a ture master!” He laughed. Twilight and Rainbow Dash had made their way to Sugarcube Corner after meeting with Rarity. “How do you think she’l handle it?” Rainbow asked Twilight as they got closer to the door. “Well we have to tell her she can’t throw him a party here,” As soon as she said party Pinkie burst out of the front door and tackled her. “Did you say party!? Oh I have to get everything ready! Cake, cupcakes, streamers, balloons, EVERYTHING!” She got ready to run back into Sugarcube Corner when Dash stopped her. “PINKIE! We came here to tell you there’s a strange new pony in town and he’s at Twi’s place, you can throw him a party but you can invite everypony in ponyville, got it? He is very sensitive to light too. We want you to go meet him.” She let go of her and helped Twi up. Pinkie thought for a moment then smiled. “Okie-dokie-lokie!” She hoped down the street towards the library. “Argh we keep forgetting to tell them what he looks like!” Rainbow facehoofed. “Don’t worry, Rarity hasin’t come running at us telling us there’s a monster in the library yet. So Spike must have helped.” After a moment Dash nodded. “Alright, lets go to AJ’s.” They began walking again, chatting about how Pinkie was going to react. “WHAT!? HOW DID YOU WIN!?” Spike was staring dumbfoundedly at the chess bored as all his pawns were gone and Shade, somehow, got his knight to check mate his king. “Again?” Shade looked up from the bored and at Spike. “You seem distressed, what is the matter?” Spike gave him a long look then sighed. “Nothing, nothing. Let’s find something else to do.” Rarity looked at Shade with a large smile. “Why don’t you let me make you a suit darling? It would cover most of your skin and keep the light from touching you.” Shade looked at her blankly then looked up thinking. After a while he looked back down at her. “Yes, please do make me a ‘suit’.” Rarity Smiled wider and took all the things she brought with her and walked over to Shade. “I’ll try to dim the light on my magic so it dosin’t hurt so much.” He nodded as she got to work. A knock came from the door. “Spike could you get that please?” Spike got up and nodded, walking towards the door. When he opened it he got tackled by Pinkie. “Hey Spike! I’m here to meet the new pony!” Spike had no chance of getting her off of him. “He’s over there getting fitted by Rarity but I have to tell ya he looks.....Different.” Pinkie made a ‘piffft’ sound. “Oh come on he can’t look that bad!” She got off of him and walked towards Rarity. “Hey Rarity! This the new guy?” Rarity nodded focusing. Pinkie then got a good look at Shade who was trying to hold still. “Wow you do look different! Like some sorta moving shadow!” Shade nodded slightly. “You could say I am. Who are you?” He turned his head to look at her. She smiled widely. “I’m Pinkie Pie! But you can call me Pinkie!” Rarity finished and was writing some things down. Pinkie extended her hoof for a hoofshake. Shade stared at her hoof for a moment then put up his hoof up to her’s. She grabbed hold and started to shake up and down. “I-I-I-I’m-m-m- S-S-Sha-a-a-ade.” He tried his best to talk. “Nice to meet ya!” She giggled and let go of his hoof. “Sorry about that, I just like meeting new ponies!” Shade finally stopped his hoof and looked at her. “I can see that.” He looked around a moment then turned back to her to see a cannon. “Is that a cannon?” Spike and Rarity took cover. “YUP!” She pulled the string and out shot a full blown party. The whole library was covered in party things, balloons, streamers, the works. “Come on everypony! Spike was sitting bored in the corner eating some cake and watching Shade and the others talking. “Hmm.” Spike got a idea. “Hey Shade come here a second will ya?” Shade turned to him and walked over. “Yes Spike?” He crouched down to Spike’s level. “How much can you lift?” Shade thought for a moment. “I can lift anything. Why do you ask?” Spike’s eyes grew wide. “Lift a bookcase!” He nodded and a dark vine came out of his back and wrapped itself around a bookcase, gently lifting it and keeping the books from falling out. Pinkie and Rarity applauded by hitting their hooves together. “Bravo! You seem to be very strong!” Rarity cheered. “Your like the hulk or something!” They all gave her confused looks. Spike got up and started whispering in Shades ear, he moved away and grinned. “Got it?” He nodded. “Alright! GO!” Two more vines came out of his back. “-and I was like ‘thats not a stool, thats Tank!’.” Both Rainbow Dash and Twilight laughed at the joke. They were coming up on Sweet Apple Acres but before they got there they saw Applejack walk out through the gate. “Oh hey Applejack!” Dash called zooming by Twilight. “Well howdy Twilight, Dash, what can ah do for ya?” She smiled happily at her friends as Twilight caught up panting. “Twi’s got a new guy at her place and we’er asking everypony we know to go see him, Rarity and Pinkie Pie should be there already. We’er going to Fluttershy next, so if you could head there and meet him ahead of time that would be awesome!” Dash cut in as Twilight was about to talk. She glared at her. Applejack grinned. “Ah new guy? AND he’s at Twi’s? I never thought you had it in ya Twi.” Twilight blushed madly. “N-no its not l-like that!” She tried to argue but Applejack just laughed and walked towards the library. “Ah know Twi. I’ll see y’all later!” Twilight and Dashed waved at her and began walking towards Fluttershy’s. “So, you don’t like him?” Dash teased. Twilight, again, blushed madly. “N-no! I mean I do but not like-” She was cut off by Dash’s laughing. “AHHHHHHHHHH! LET ME GO THIS INSTANT! THIS IS NOT FUNNY! AHHHHH!” Rarity screamed as she flew through the air, followed by Pinkie. “WEEEEEEEEEE! HIGHER! HIGHER! FASTER! WEEE!” She laughed uncontrollablely, she was then followed by a bookcase. Shade had been juggling them with his dark vines, a grin on his face. “You were correct Spike, this is fun.” He turned his head and looked at Spike who was dieing of laughter. He kept juggling them for a while when he looked back at Spike his grin a bit more seeable. “Whoa what are you planing?” Spike stopped laughing and shot up. Another vine grew from Shades back and grabbed Spike. “WHOA! AHHH!” He yelled as Shade tossed him up into the air and started juggling him like the others. “IT SERVES YOU RIGHT FOR GETTING THE IDEA INTO HIS HEAD!” Rarity called to Spike as she shot up into the air. As this all happened Applejack was staring at the library in confusion. “What in tarnation?” She charged and kicked in the door and what she saw did not help. What she saw was some monster shadow pony tossing her friends around in the air with a bookcase. “PUT MAH FRIENDS DOWN!” The surprise made Shade catch all of them and the bookcase to look at Applejack. “Who are you?” Applejack had a angry glare. “Ah should be asking you that. Get ready for a world of hurt!” She charged him with amazing speed and bucked him right in the jaw. He stumbled back a bit but shook it off and looked back up at her. A vine shot out at her wiping the ground as she dodged, it left a nasty gash in the wooden floor. Applejack charged again and bucked him where his ribs should be, he flew to the other side of the library and hit the wall sending some book of their shelves. He got up slowly and actually opened his mouth letting out a ghastly roar that shook the whole library. “You come here and assault me for no reason, for this you must be punished stranger!” A shadow came out of the ground and wrapped itself around Applejack’s leg and whipped her around in the air. Soon she grabbed a book as she flew by a shelf and chucked it at Shade’s head, which made him let go of her sending her into a wall. “Now yer going to get it!” She ran around him before he could recover and bucked him as hard as she could, which sent him flying out the window. He stood there sizzling in the light of the sun. The others were too stunned to say or do anything to help and soon, Shade melted in the light and out of sight the shadow went back into the library. Applejack walked over to her friends panting. “Y’all alright?” Spike blinked and started freaking out. “THE LIBRARY! APPLEJACK WHY!? HE’S FRIENDLY!” Applejack flinched. “You mean ‘was’ friendly right?” Spike grinned and pointed behind her. “Nope.” She turned to see the shadows gathering together and reform the dark being she thought she killed. “That......Hurt...” He muttered. Applejack backed up in horror. Rarity put her hoof on Applejack’s shoulder. “Applejack, darling he’s friendly, if he wasin’t do you think we would be here right now telling you this?” She looked at her then back to Shade with a gulp. “A-are ya sure?” They all nodded, even Shade. “W-well then,” She walked up to him and extended her hoof slowly. “M-mah name is Applejack.” He grabbed her hoof gently. “Shade, nice to meet you.” //-------------------------------------------------------// meeting Fluttershy //-------------------------------------------------------// meeting Fluttershy “So you thought I looked like this?” Shade looked down to a open book where a picture of a tall pony with a white pelt and black suit, it also had no face. “I look nothing like this horror.” He turned his head to Applejack who had a sheepish grin on. “Ah’ma sorry, heat of the moment.” She admitted. “Ah remember Granny Smith tellin Mac and Ah about this feller, and you look a lot like him.” Shade looked back to the book and kept reading. “This story is interesting, how can something like this be real? It is clearly fiction, you have nothing to fear.” He looked back over to her and put on that creepy smile he has. She flinched back a bit but smiled warmly at him. “Thanks.” She turned to the window. “Ah can’t believe you fixed that so fast.” Shade only nodded. Rarity and Spike had left to work on Shade’s suit, she said it would be finished before the day was done. So that left Applejack and Pinkie who was eating the rest of the cake. Applejack had just gotten done apologizing for the millionth time to Shade and had shown him what she thought he looked like at first. As of now Shade was looking at the balloons, interested by the color and how it got that way (He dosin’t know much,). Poking on with a dark tendril, he jumped back when it popped. Applejack and Pinkie were dieing of laughter at his even wider white eyes. “Alright, so let me get this.” Twilight glared at Rainbow Dash. “Got it?” Dash sighed and nodded. Twilight smiled and knocked on Fluttershy’s door. After a moment and some sounds of hooves walking around the door opened to the softly smiling face of Fluttershy. “Oh, hello Twilight, Rainbow Dash. What can I help you with?” She asked with a warm smile for her friends. “Well,” Twilight began glaring at Dash. “We have a visitor to Ponyville and he’ll be staying at the library for the mean time. We would like you to come visit him.” Fluttershy thought for a moment then looked at her uneasily. “W-well alright.” She let out a small grin. “Alright!” Dash pumped her hoof. “Everypony else it there too! So let’s go meet up with them!” Dash then grabbed them both and flew towards the library at full speed. “No.” “Aww come on! It would be so cool!” Spike was begging Shade to make everyponies shadow dance. “I don’t see why you would need me to do that. It does not contribute to anything productive.” Shade stated with a flat tone. Spike was on his knees trying to get him to do it. “Come ooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnn! Girls help me out here!” He turned his head to the girls who were cracking up. “Oh please do Shade, it would look like we were at a party with your new suit on and everything!” Pinkie and Applejack nodded in agreement. Shade looked at them and then back to Spike. “*Sigh* Very well.” He looked all around the room as it began to shake. The shadows of everypony there got up and started walking around blankly. “Is that all they do?” Pinkie walked up to hers and tried to poke it when it’s hoof lifted up like hers. “Whoa! Cool!” She hooped around the library with her shadow following doing the same. Applejack walked over to hers and stuck her hoof forward, it doing the same. She chuckled and shook it’s hoof. “Nice to meet cha Applejack!” Rarity was closely inspecting hers. Shade had his suit on so some lights were on. “All I need his a hood and I can go outside.” He mumbled as everyone was having fun with their shadows, Spike was posing in front of his, acting like a tough guy. Twilight, Dash, and Fluttershy were outside the door listening to the laughter. “Well, it seems like he made friends with everypony already.” Dash laughed and opened the door to see everypony dancing around with their shadows. “What the?” Pinkie spotted her and bounced over, her shadow in pursuit. “Hiya Dash! Twilight! Fluttershy! Hurry up Shade might not make anymore!” Twilight looked at Fluttershy who was cowering behind her from the Pinkie shadow. “Um, Shy it’s just a shadow.” Pinkie smiled at her. “And Shade is a nice guy too! Wait is he a colt? He sounds like a colt.” Pinkie muttered bouncing off with her shadow. Twilight noticed some lights were on and walked in, Dash dragging Fluttershy in. “What the hay?” She muttered and looked over at Shade, wearing a new suit no less. “Shade! How are you able to stand in the light and how did you get that- oh never mind.” She just remembered that Rarity offered to make him a suit, and it looked to be blocking out the light to him. “Anyway this is Fluttershy.” Twilight turned her head towards Fluttershy who was hiding behind Dash. “Greetings again Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, and the scared pony Fluttershy.” He walked over to Twilight and looked at Fluttershy. “Why do you fear me?” He asked softly leaning his head down a bit. She let out a soft whimper, to everyone’s sadness the shadows vanished. “No more shadows.” He muttered. Fluttershy looked up and around and just saw everyone, without the shadows following them. She looked up at Shade and recoiled at the sight of his pure white eyes. “Shy, come on he’s not a bad guy.” Dash said taking a step to the side and letting Shy see him full on. His suit covering most of his dark coat. “H-hi.” She muttered. A smile cracked onto Shade’s face. “Greeting Fluttershy, I am Shade.” He extended a hoof towards her. She grasped it lightly with her’s and shook lightly. -----Later that night!----- Twilight was writing a letter that would go to the princess while Shade was playing chess with Spike again, and winning. ‘Dear princess Celestia, I learned today you shoulden’t judge a pony by what he looks like, this new pony came to town by the name of Shade and just about scared everypony half to death! But really he his a nice guy, and he seems to be very good a chess because he his making Spike yell out in rage, giving him the cracked smile. Your faithful student Twilight Sparkle.’ Now we can get into the plot! not that kind of plot you sick minded freaks! Just kidding!
