//-------------------------------------------------------// Erased Shadows -by Starry_Heart- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: A Lone Farewell //-------------------------------------------------------// My Life, My Memories I remember it so well. Her beautiful face. Her lovely, violet eyes. Her rainbow-colored mane. Her friendly, competitive attitude. Her wings that flew her so high. Her sweet smile. Her adorable laugh. The way she stood up for herself and her friends. The way she tried to deny it when she was embarrassed. The way she hung out and helped her friends. The way she always pranked with a light-hearted touch. The way she comforted others. The way she shined so brightly. The way she kept her head up when her heart was crushed. The way she stuck by her friends' side even though it wasn't always what she wanted. The way she was willing to stand up for what she believed in and dared to question others. The way she followed her heart. I remember everything about her. And she's all I remember. I don't know who I am or where I came from. I don't know how I met her or where I am now. I don't remember my life. My mind is empty, filled with nothingness. I wish I knew, but I don't. I don't know anything. All I remember is her. It's dark and lonely. I can hear the wind howling. I have never felt so cold. So lost. So alone. There is dark, murky woods everywhere I look. I can't see anything past two yards in front of me. Chills crawl up my spine. So dark. So cold. So lonely. I know there is sunshine somewhere. I must've seen it before. I must've known the open light once. But it isn't with me here. I'm alone. Abandoned. Lost in the darkness with the shadows of my former self. It's depressing, sitting here by myself with no one to help me, to tell me where I am, and how to find my memories and myself. I don't know where to go, where to start. So dark. So lost. So alone. So very cold. Is somepony out there? Can somepony hear me, hear my silent cries? Will somepony please come and rescue me from this bitter cold and lonely darkness? So dark. So lost. So alone. So, so cold. I found a pond and saw a face peering back at me. A pony-like face. His eyes blinked with mine. So pale blue. Like her coat. I can feel it. I can feel her name on the tip of my tongue, but I can't reach it. What was her name? I gazed at the pony in the pond. His coat was dark, dark blue...like the night sky. I must've seen the sky once, too. Here, there is no sky, only blackened leaves and murky shadows. He wore a gray cloak, and a shooting star was on his flank. His hooves were wrapped in bandages except the tips of the bottom. The bottom of his hooves were a strange gold, as if they had replaced the stallion's real hooves. The stallion's mane was black with a single, thick, purple stripe. His tail was short and spiky as if it had been chopped off instead of trimmed neatly, also black with a single, thick, purple stripe. However, the most strange sight was his wings. They weren't regular wings. They were made of gold and intricately made in a complex design with dark blue feathers on the ends of each point that were the same color as the stallion's coat. His wings. My wings. This stallion was me. My name. I remember it now. Star Wish. That's my name. But...I don't feel it. I don't feel like a star. I feel like a...like a nopony. I feel something wet. My eyes are blurry. A tear just fell and disturbed my reflection. Am I crying? Is this feeling in my heart what I think it is? Am I sad? It's...It's overwhelming. It's a horrible feeling. It's like...like a giant hole that was ripped in my heart, an intimidating pressure that threatens to crush me until I collapse. I hate it. I hate this feeling. I hate sadness. I don't want to be sad. I don't want to be lonely. I don't want to live like this in this dark, murky forest with no memory of my life. So dark. So alone. So lost. So cold. So sad. Oh, the tears! The pressure! The horrible hole! Go away! Please! Somepony! Rescue me! Get me out of this place! I'm afraid. I'm lost. I'm by myself. I don't want this. I didn't ask for this. Why am I here? Why can't I remember? Why am I alone? It has started raining. I found a small, rocky overhang with lots of moss. I've made myself a bed of moss. It's not much, but it's all I seem to have. I'm watching the rain, listening to the drip-drop of the raindrops as they fall off the leaves. I'm slipping away like the raindrops. I'm fading. The story of my life is gone. I have no memories except of her. My eyes are closing. I guess I have to wait until tomorrow. Her. I can't remember her name, but I do know one thing. I love her.
