Wolf of a Pony
The Mysterious Stallion
Load Full StoryNext ChapterOnce there was a pony who hated everyone. He had a tan coat with a messy orange and beige mane and tail. His cutie mark was a wolf, which seemed odd. What possible talent could relate to wolves? His name was Meiyo Okami
No one actually knew who he was or why he was there. He just kinda appeared one day like slender man.
One day he went into the town square and bought apples ( because that annoying little filly wouldn't leave him alone) before he even got to the train station. He was going to the Crystal Empire. Not many ponies could afford to move there. He had earned enough bits from working as a restaurant manager in Ponyville.
Once he is on the train, he is surrounded by those weird ponies. The time lord, the two best friend ponies, the dj, the classy snob, and the mentally retarded grey pegasus. He sighs knowing the train ride will seem like the longest 2 hours of his life.
Once the train had reached its destination, the passengers were greeted by a pink perky pony with a purple and pink swirly mane. She had an accent that sounded like it was from Manehatten. "Hello, ponies and welcome to the Crystal Empires. I hope everyone enjoys their stay here."
Meiyo Okami grumbled as the apples in his saddlebag shifted and made it become heavier on one side.
He was to stay in an abandon library until he had enough bits to rent out a better home. He entered the dusty old library and settled in. With ever step there were creeks, squeaks, and thumps.
He had heard abnormal sounds. Almost ghost like. Although with him in a cranky mood, he ignored all of this.
He spent most of his time in the library with nothing but candles to keep the light in. Ponies never paid any attention to him when he went to get food or other supplies. He dared never to open a windows, for the view of the ponies cheerfulness made him dislike them even more.
During the early hours of the morning he saw a figure. He shouted "Who's there?' but got no reply. On the bookshelf next to him was a small knife. He opened the knife and yelled out "I have a knife and I won't hesitate to use it!' This time he heard a feminine voice say something. It was to muffled to hear exactly what she said. Then she appeared in the light of a candle. It was Princess Luna!
Meiyo dropped the knife in astonishment. He couldn't believe the Princess was here, or that fact that she was in the Crystal Empire. The shocked stallion bowed with respect.
"No need to bow, I have something important to tell you" Luna said as she stepped closer.
"How do you know me, how did you find me, and what do you want?" This was all too confusing for Meiyo. He needed answers and he needed them now.
"Come with me." Luna demanded.
The two ponies went out of the library towards the Crystal Empire's castle. As they entered the castle Luna's eyes wandered to where the stallion's cutie mark was. Luna was puzzled t the fact that he has a wolf on his flank.
"How did you get your cutie mark?"
"Well it's kind complicated," Meiyo stammered "but before I do that tell me how you found me and what you want."
Luna paused. "I was once told by my older sister that there is a pony who is half wolf and half pony. This pony could control animals' behavior and thoughts. It is a mystery of who they are, but when they are discovered they need to be mentored and trained."
"And what does this have to do with me?"
"You are that pony."
"I see, and how could you tell?"
"I was visiting Princess Cadence to help her with her royal duties and I saw you on the train from Ponyville. I saw your cutie mark and knew you must be the half wolf half pony. Which brings me back to my next question; how did you get your cutie mark?"
"Well long ago I was in a forest. I didn't know who I was, why I was there, or where I was." He paused. " I saw trying to figure out how the heck to get out when I saw those yellow eyes and smelled the putrid odor of the timber wolves' breath. Out of instinct I ran. Then I was caught at a dead end. To my surprise they brought me to their pack grounds and raised me."
"And how does this intertwine with you getting your cutie mark?" Luna interrupted.
"I was getting to that!" Meiyo snapped. "Anyway, it wasn't until a full moon that I realized I had all the abilities of a timber wolf. I was strong, fast, and intimidating. That's when this wolf mark appeared on my flank. So I guess my talent is the talents of a wolf."
"I suppose that is abnormal for a unicorn to be strong and fast. We're here."
"Where?"
"The Crystal Empire's Ancient Ruins. You do realize this place is well over one thousand years old?"
"Of course I do!"
The two ponies trailed into a small hallway with a cobblestone path. The air was musty and smelled of rotting produce. Rats shrieked now and again making the atmosphere more creepy. The hall begins to darken as they head further and further in. Luna uses her magic to emit a small light. They then reach a wooden door with a blue handle. The crystal-purple paint is peeling off and a loud screech breaks the silence as the door is cracked open.
Dozen upon dozens of scrolls, letters, and spells are scattered everywhere. As curious as anypony, Meiyo Okami read the scrolls. Most of them contained an old legend or myth with most of the ink smudged. He found one rather interesting about a ghost who haunted the Canterlot Castle. It was said that the spirit would mope about calling out to a royal guard she had fallen in love with and was killed at war.
As he read Luna was busy trying ti find a chest. She became flustered and moved books, papers, nicknacks, and all sorts of artifacts.
Meanwhile, Meiyo had put down the scroll and a chest with three gems embedded in it caught his eye. She step forward to it and opened the chest. Luna's ear twitched at the creaking sound of the chest and bumped into Meiyo sending him flying across the room.
"Ow! What the hay was that for!?" Meiyo snarled.
"Sorry! It's just that you found the chest."
He scrambled to his hooves and trotted up to the chest. Inside were three scrolls, all unopened. Luna closed the chest and teleported themselves out of the room into the door outside of the hall.
The stallion grunted "Hay! Why didn't you just teleport us into the room then out?"
"You're just as ignorant as those mangy wolves! Teleporting spells require a lot of magic and cannot be done twice within a half an hour to five hours of time. You should know this, you are a unicorn after all!" Luna sighed. "I'll arrange you to stay in one of the rooms at the Crystal Castle. I'll tell you everything in the morning."
Luna showed Meiyo to his room and settle himself in. There was a king bed, a wardrobe, two night stands, and a small hot tub in the corner of the room. With all the stress, he decided to take a dip before going to sleep.
Morning had come to quickly, and when Meiyo awaken he had cuts, bruises and was up against a wall wit a flower pot broken atop his head.
