Nothing but one singular egg. The egg then hatched and from it, came the creator of all life itself- Arceus. Arceus saw the vast nothingness that surrounded him. He sought to change that. It was then that the beings of Time, Space, and Antimatter were created. Using their power, he created a world based on his own design. This world was a world of creatures called Pokémon. He also created other inhabitants which were known as humans. However, they were lifeless and dull. So it was then that the beings of Emotion, Willpower, and Knowledge were created to give true meaning and purpose to these...unique individuals. Arceus knew that there should be all kinds of Pokémon instead of just one unique kind. So from the very first Pokémon's DNA, he created others. The beings of Sky, Land, and Sea. The beings of Justice. The beings of Truth and Ideals. Even the beings of Dreams. With these "Legendary" Pokémon by his side, they would help him govern all of Pokétopia. And so it remained that way for eons... The beings known as humans eventually became dominant. They gained far greater intelligence than ever imagined. They captured the Pokémon for their own purposes; such as using them for pets, battling partners, and tools of war. The latter purpose was used in ancient times. Times that Arceus looked back onto his first grave mistake. Since Arceus was still learning to control his power, it leaked into the world's heart. This was not necessarily a bad thing, for it created life and prosperity. That didn't mean it was all good however. This energy was what caused truths and ideals to clash and wage war. From the negative and positive emotions from the humans along with the powers of Arceus, he unintentionally created the beings of which would one day stand as hope and despair. These Legendary Pokémon were known as Xerneas and Yveltal. Xerneas was The Goddess of Creation and Harmony, whilst Yveltal was The God of Destruction and Chaos. Xerneas is a blue and black, quadrupedal, cervine Pokémon with an eight-horned set of antlers extending out from her head, four on each side. Xerneas's coloration changes slightly depending on what 'mode' she is in; Active Mode or Neutral Mode. In Active Mode, each horn is pale gold and adorned with a colorful, three-part glowing protrusion twining through the horn (orange, red, purple, and teal-blue), one side mirroring the other. The colors gradually turn lighter to darker when moving from base to tip. In Neutral Mode, the horns are pale blue and the protrusions the same blue as its upper body. Xerneas's head is blue with two horns on either side of her head, and the root of her horns mark her face, just below the eye and over the nose. Her eyes are the same color as her fur, and her pupils are X-shaped. The blue portion of her body ends at the chest area where the "fur" juts outward to the side, similar to the blue horns on her face. On her breast is an inverted V-shape that is also pale gold in Active Mode and pale blue in Neutral Mode. The inside of the V-shape is black and extends into her lower body. The rest of her body is black with a blue stripe running along her spine; when she is in Active Mode, the shine from her horns decorate her back in small, multicolored spots. She has a slim, fluffy black tail where the blue stripe ends. Her legs are fashioned like blades with forward-pointing "hooks" at the tips, creating a cross shape, with the main "edges" trimmed with the same color as the horns (pale gold in Active Mode, pale blue in Neutral Mode); the trim on her forelegs further map a crude sword-like pattern. Xerneas has the power to share eternal life; this occurs as the horns on her head shine in seven colors. When Xerneas is at the end of her life, she releases all of her life energy into all the living things around herself, and then transforms into a tree to sleep for 1,000 years. Xerneas also has the power to create forests, making Xerneas a benevolent force in nature. Yveltal was the opposite. Yveltal is a large avian-like Pokémon. His body is dark in coloration and is adorned with grayish patterns along the underside. Yveltal's wings and tails have three points extending along the edges, close to where they meet the body. There are five large claws on each appendage, three of which curve inwards. Yveltal's underside is bright red, with branching, black markings. Similar markings are present on Yveltal's head and neck.Yveltal has a pointed, beak-like snout. Black horns extend from above his blue eyes, with a sharply curved portion pointing forward and thinner prongs facing the rear. A feathery gray ruff encircles his neck and billows out over his back. Yveltal has small, birdlike legs with powerful talons. Like the rest of the underside, the legs are red with black adornments, and the talons are gray. Each foot has two toes facing forward and one pointing backwards. Yveltal has the power to absorb life energy. When he reaches the end of his lifespan, he expands his wings and steals all of the life energy of every living thing around himself before transforming into a cocoon to sleep for 1,000 years. As the warring humans battled and slaughtered one another, this caused an influx of power in Yveltal. Darkness rose over the Light and balance was shattered in the process. Yveltal thrived in all of this, however, Xerneas couldn't stand such evil and hopelessness. Henceforth, she brought peace to other lands before there was only one left- controlled by Yveltal. The two fought over which should reign supreme: Harmony or Chaos. Not able to reach a decision, Yveltal's patience came to an end and for the first time in generations, he attacked Xerneas! A fellow Legendary being attacked was considered taboo. Xerneas tried to reason with her "brother", but he wouldn't listen to reason. This began the XY War. Yveltal supported all forces of evil and Xerneas supported all forces of good. They clashed many times over and over. Neither winning nor losing. Until one final day, near the climax of the war, Yveltal and Xerneas took their battle into space and gathered every last bit of energy left in them. They then fired the beams of power at each other and both seemingly vanished in the explosion. Never to be heard from again. Little did anyone know, the beams of destruction and creation managed to form a planet known as Equi. Here, Xerneas landed her battered form and transformed into her tree form to replenish her energy lost in the battle with Yveltal. This reaction created life all around the world. Forests formed, mountains rose, fields blossomed, and a new type of race was created. The ponies. As 1,000 years passed, Xerneas awoke and saw what she created. There was so much peace and happiness. Worthy of one word: Harmony. The ponies flocked to her and praised her as their Creator. For many a year, Xerneas was satisfied and was able to rest in peace. But happiness was not to last. For Yveltal, the brother of Xerneas, lived. In the ensuing battle, he was able to land on the moon and transform into a cocoon to replenish his energy. The power drainage caused the moon to be a barren wasteland filled with toxins that made it impossible to live. Yveltal then awoke 1,000 years later (around the same time as Xerneas) and scoured the many seas of stars looking for any sign of Xerneas so that they may finish their battle once and for all. Xerneas sensed that her brother would arrive and destroy all in sight if he ever came to Equi. Even the excess forces of energy he produced from so far away created vile beasts such as the Changelings, Manticores, Timberwolves, and other foul creatures of the dark. Xerneas knew that going to Arceus was not an option because he believed her dead and wouldn't affair in other's battles. It was then she was struck by an idea. Using her vast godlike power, she created six items known as The Elements of Harmony. Yveltal finally arrived and Xerneas braced herself for what was to come. All ponies were safely hidden away and watched from afar. The battle then began. Yveltal would not give in to his weaker sibling's power! He'd destroy her, then everything else in her pathetic world! Xerneas fought for her own reasons as well. She'd make sure that the ponies would thrive, spread peace, and let friendship blossom! At last, the moment came. When Yveltal was temporarily weakened by the love all ponies sent to Xerneas, she used the Elements of Harmony to defeat him. As he fell defeated, his power exploded out and created the darker halves of Equi (the places that would be known as Tartarus and the Everfree Forest). To prevent anymore chaos from spreading and infecting the planet, Xerneas created the alicorns. She also entrusted them the Elements of Harmony while she went to the heart of Equi (which would be Canterlot) and exposed all her energy to cleanse the world from Yveltal's poisonous power. She then yet again transformed into a tree and this time, slept in peace for what would soon becom millennia. As for Yveltal, the alicorns took advantage of his weakened state and he was cast away to the deepest pits of Tartarus; never to be seen or heard from again as he could not be destroyed. Eons past and the XY Battle was a distant memory to all but a few who recorded it in history books. Some say that one day Xerneas would return and spread her warmth to all once more while Yveltal would still be imprisoned. Others thought that the battle would take place again. Those that did, did not know how right they would be... ~My Little Pony: Under the Eye of Darkness~ //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Chapter 1: 1,000,000 years later... In the dark depths of Tartarus, where not even the bravest of ponies go, there is a blood red door. Covered in chains and skulls, this door was said to house the most dangerous of all creatures the world had ever known. Yveltal. For years, Yveltal had been trapped. For years he had suffered the loss of losing to his cursed sister. If it weren't for the fabled Elements of Harmony, he would've succeeded in destroying all of Equestria. Still, as the humans he once lived with (to his disgust) used to say, "the future is not set in stone" rang in his head. Yveltal released a long sigh of frustration. If only...if only the tides would change in his favor. For as long as he could remember, the powers of chaos had been thwarted again and again by Xerneas' greatest creations: the alicorn ponies. This time by the two most utterly repulsive ones he had ever laid eyes upon! The so called great Celestia and Luna. However, having used the Elements of Harmony against a being that was known as Discord, Yveltal discovered that his bonds were slowly weakening. It appears that not all was in vain after all. Because of a special poison created from his very own bloodstream was attached in order to create the Elements of Harmony (you cannot have one without the other after all), the more chaos they cleansed, the more he was able to feed upon. Soon he would be free and the ponies would all be choking on their own blood! Still, the powers of friendship were strong in these pathetic ponies. It would take a many more years before he would fully be free of his shackles. Yveltal gave a low growl of anger and frustration. He then looked at a mirror that was the only other thing that occupied his room. At first glance, it looked like any other old mirror. Rusty and cracked with age, the rim was adorned by gold that now looked more like copper, as for the reflective surface, half of it had a long jagged crack in it. Perhaps it was time to use this old thing again once more. After all, this mirror was special. It had the ability to let him see into the outside world of Equestria. Xerneas had given it to him as a "gift" so that perhaps he'd one day understand Harmony through looking at the mirror. He'd despised it ever since. Yveltal gritted the teeth in his beak in concentration and said, "Mirror of Damnation, show me Xerneas' Creation." The mirror's surface rippled and for the umpteenth time, he saw...happiness, friendship, magic. HE HATED IT ALL!! With a mighty shrill cry, the very foundations of Tartarus quaked at his power. "SKKKRRRREEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKK!!!!! Enough of this!! For millennia I have waited! Waited to be free of these shackles and be free to shape my destiny! But no more. It's time to take matters into my own talons! Mirror of Damnation, show me ARCEUS' Creation!" Instead of using the name Xerneas, he used the name of his creator/father Arceus. His plan was to hopefully see Earth instead of Equestria and see how his influence was effecting the planet. The surface rippled once more, showing a huge war of epic proportions. At the sight of the gruesome deaths and bloodshed, Yveltal felt something within him stir. This...was his power! This is what he loved to see every moment of his life. Strife, chaos, and destruction! Seeing that his plan worked, he immediately zoomed on the most powerful piece of strife he could possibly find in a soul and dive into. His eyes landed on a small village. The people there lived in utter poverty with little to eat and little to drink. But that was not what caught his attention. No, it was something else entirely. It was a Pokémon and Dark Type at that. He watched as the poor thing tried to take food from unsuspecting people, only to be caught and hit with rocks and whips. At the sight of this...fox, people shunned and denied it's very existence. Seeing how this took place 5 years ago, he fast forwarded the images to the current time. The Pokémon, now identified as a Zoroark, was breathing shallowly. It seemed on the very verge of death. He then peeked into the creature's memories and emotions to see a soul filled with anger and hate. Destruction ran through it's veins. It. Was. PERFECT! This would be the one to grant him his freedom. Using every ounce of strength left in him, Yveltal unleashed a small glowing red orb that held his essence. He then sent it through the mirror toward the Zoroark. The Zoroark who's name was Xehanort, was teetering on the edge of Death's Door. Until he saw a bright red orb that blinded his vision. In that moment, he blacked out and entered his subconscious. ~In Zoroark's subconscious~ Down, down, down he fell...until he landed on a platform made of nothingness. Xehanort was confused. Moments ago, he was close to death because of him stealing from a rich noble. This caused problems and he nearly got stabbed through the heart by a spear! He then checked himself for any injuries. Surprisingly, where a bleeding chest should have been, it was completely healed! "Wha-what is this? Is this some type of sorcery? Who did this?!" Xehanort said to himself in shock and worry. A figure descended from the skies and landed before Xehanort. "You can thank me for that mortal. If it weren't for my interference, you would've died a horrible death. And I could not bear to watch that happen." Xehanort looked up at the dark avian Pokémon in amazement and fear. He then asked the question that he desperately wanted answered. "Just what...or who are you? How could you possibly prevent my death from occurring? And why?" "Ah...where are my manners? I am Yveltal. Surely you've heard of me? As for saving you, I didn't. I merely sent your body into a dormant state and brought your spirit into this dimensional limbo. You are at the crossroads between life and death itself. I am, however, willing to give you your life back, but for a price. So choose: death or my...proposition." Yveltal said in his demonic voice. Xehanort gasped at the name Yveltal. He immediately could not believe that one of the most powerful Legendary Dark Types still lived. Especially after what occurred between him and Xerneas... He immediately bowed before Yveltal in respect, lest he anger Yveltal somehow. He then said, "Before I choose, might I hear this proposition of yours Almighty One?" Yveltal chuckled at this and replied, "Why of course! If you were to choose my proposition, you would live for as long as I deem fit. You'd be immortal in a sense. However, there is a catch. In return for this power, you'd have to hold a piece of my essence in your heart and serve as one of my agents. And in return for your service, I will let you see all you hate and despise burn! You will be accepted into society. Those who speak your name will tremble in fear and you'll finally have the respect you so rightfully deserve. What say you little Zoroark?" Xehanort pondered for a few moments before replying, "I accept my master." Yveltal hid his dark grin and held in his laughter. At long last! The first of many agents that would spread his influence throughout the masses. And when the time comes, Equestria will be first to fall! Yveltal then embraced Xehanort in his dark wings. Xehanort began to glow with dark energy as a sphere of darkness surrounded his entire being! The power. Oh yes the power was good! So good! After the power transfer was complete, Xehanort had gone through a drastic change. His body was no longer gray in color. Instead it was an eerie red with black patterns that glowed with Yveltal's power. He had blue fur over his chest instead of the original black. His mane was purple with black energy crackling like miniature lightning and his eyes were the most darkest of gold. "Behold. My apprentice of destruction. Behold...XEHANORT THE LORD OF CHAOS!!!" Yveltal shouted in evil glee. "What is thy bidding my liege?" Xehanort said in a dull and monotonous voice that held no emotion. Yveltal merely grinned and began his plans for a new order of chaos... TO BE CONTINUED //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC! Chapter 3: ~A Normal Day? I Think Not!~ At the town of Ponyville, Celestia's ever-faithful student Twilight Sparkle slept alongside her number one assistant Spike the baby dragon. Twilight Sparkle was a lavender colored pony of the unicorn species with a dark violet mane that had a magenta tint on part of it. Her Cutie Mark was a magical star that signified her talent in magic. As for Spike, he was a baby dragon with purple scales and green spikes. Even though he's still a baby, young Spike has a knack for knowledge and has the mindset of a teenage pony. The sunlight poked slowly through Ponyville Library's windows, Twilight resisted the urge to groan in frustration. She was not a morning pony! She yawned and slowly got off her rump and headed downstairs while Spike was still sleeping like a baby (A.N. pun intended). Since she usually counted on Spike to make breakfast, she settled simply for a cup of water and a nice warm bath to help wake her up. She headed upstairs where she turned on the water to warm and slowly let the tub fill. After about two minutes, she got inside the tub and moaned in pleasure of the nice warmth the bath provided. She then brushed her mane, brushed her teeth, made sure her horn was in tip-top shape, and dried herself off. She then headed downstairs smelling the lovely scent of maple pancakes being made by none other than Spike! Spike looked up with a somewhat tired expression, but lightened up when he saw Twilight. "Good morning Twi. Have a good night's sleep?" He asked kindly with a grin on his face. Twilight yawned again and replied back, "It was ok I guess. I really wished I could sleep some more. But I have an appointment at the spa later today with Rarity and Fluttershy. I can't afford to miss it. What kind of friend would I be if I left them hanging?" She said the last part as a little joke since Rainbow Dash loved to say that particular phrase. "Aw! I wish I could come. You always get to do all the fun things Twi." Spike complained in his usual demeanor. Twilight giggled at this and said slyly, "Are you only wanting to come so you can see Rarity?" Spike started to stutter and blush madly that his scales almost turned pink. "N-no! O-of course n-not!" "So you're saying you don't like her?" Twilight was enjoying this. At times like this, it reminded her of the deep bond she and Spike shared. "Wha-wh-ugh. You know what? Forget it Twi! I know you're teasing me by that grin of yours." He finally conceded with a sigh while noticing her grin that nearly covered her entire face. Twilight and Spike both laughed together and continued to eat their respective breakfast. Twilight had a dandelion sandwich while Spike was eating some Gems with his cereal. The clock in the library then made a ding sound and Twilight gasped at this. "Oh no! I'm late! I gotta go Spike! Take good care of the library while I'm gone!" She said while hurriedly rushing out the door before coming back and quickly brushing her mane and teeth (again) before leaving once more. Spike gave out a little sigh. "Hggh. Sometimes it's tough being Twilight's Number One Assistant. Well, better get this place spruced up!" He proclaimed with a puffed up chest and proud smile. As Twilight headed over to Fluttershy's cottage to get her for the appointment at the spa with Rarity, she tripped and stumbled before almost crashing to the ground in her rush! Luckily, a telekinesis spell stopped her impact courtesy of a white-grey female pony with a purple styled mane and 3 gems as her Cutie Mark. This was none other than Rarity. She was part of the Unicorn species just like Twilight. "Whoa! Phew! Thanks a bunch Rarity. I didn't pay attention that well and almost slipped! Hee hee." Twilight giggled in embarrassment. "Oh Twilight darling. There's no need for thanks! It's what any kindhearted pony would do really!" Rarity said in a pish posh accent. "Well thanks just the same Rarity." Twilight thanked again. "Oh. In that case, you're quite welcome Twilight." Rarity said accepting the thanks this time. Both ponies then began to walk together to Fluttershy's cottage from that point on. After a few minutes later, they had finally arrived. Fluttershy's cottage was simple, yet unique. It was inside a hollowed out tree with windows and a wooden door. It also contained many types of animals like ducks, turtles, rabbits, etc. There were even pens and food for then too. You see, Fluttershy was an animal caretaker. After Rarity knocked on the door gently and politely, a female pony timidly stepped out. She was vanilla covered with a flowing pink mane that was curled at the front. Her Cutie Mark was three butterflies. She also had soft blue eyes and wings. This was the pony known as Fluttershy. She was part of the Pegasus species. "Oh. Hi Twilight and Rarity. Does this mean you're ready for the spa?" Fluttershy kindly, yet softly asked. "Indeed darling. Let us be on our way shall we?" Rarity replied. MLP After finally arriving at the spa, Twilight and co. began to relax and converse while the spa ponies did their thing. Later, they were finished with their treatment and have never felt better! "Ahh...that was relaxing don't you think girls?" Twilight said. "Oh yes Twilight. It was very comfortable." Fluttershy said. "I concur dear Fluttershy. I simply adored that massage! It was simply elegant in my opinion." Rarity said dreamily. As the girls conversed some more, they then spotted something going on near the town square. "I wonder what's going on?" Twilight wondered. The three ponies all began walking to the center of the town where a lone unicorn was setting up what seemed to he an attraction of sorts. Getting a closer look, it seemed to be similar to a fortune teller's tent with many extravagant designs etched into a pattern. The unicorn stopped working and slowly turned around. This caused the thre to get a good look at him. He was a dark lavender colored unicorn with kind brown eyes and a slimmed steel-blue mane. He wore grey colored glasses and a white vest/jacket. Finally, his Cutie Mark was a mirror with a masked face inside covered in smoke (A.N. Rarity immediately blushed at his kind mannerisms. "Why hello! It's not often I get visitors. After all, this IS my first attraction in Ponyville! I introduce to you, the Tent of Legends! In here, you'll find many interesting things tied into legendary events. Please, take a look around and tell me what strikes your fancy." The pony kindly greeted. "I also sell some of my wares too. The admission fee is 5 Bits per pony. Would you like to enter?" The pony asked. Twilight, eager to learn new knowledge about practically anything, immediately jumped at this chance and paid 5 Bits to the pony. Rarity and Fluttershy followed her lead albeit with less enthusiasm compared to Twilight. "Why thank you kindly everypony! You're patronage is greatly accepted." He thanked. "Oh! One other thing, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Mirror Image. I specialize in many different magics. Especially mirror-based ones." He introduced and explained with passion. "REALLY?! You specialize in mirror magic?!" Twilight exclaimed in an excited tone. "Mirror magic is one of the hardest spells to ever produce! Even with a highly skilled unicorn!" "Oh ho ho!" Mirror Image laughed in amusement. "You're quite informed aren't you? Well yes, you are right. I guess no one expected it at first that it was to be my special talent until my Cutie Mark appeared." He explained with a smile. "Would you care for a demonstration?" He asked. Twilight immediately grabbed a quill and parchment with her telekinesis and said, "Yes, yes, yes! Please show me! I'd love to gain some more insight on this kind of magic!" Mirror Image laughed kindly again and his horn began to glow with a white glow. Immediately, the air seemed to shift and the atmosphere seemed...different somehow. Twilight looked around and saw that she was all alone in a vas space except for three doppelgängers that surrounded her. They then cracked and shattered into many rainbow colored pieces. A mirror then appeared and out of it, stepped Mirror Image himself. For his final trick, he stomped his hooves and two more mirrors appeared dumping out Rarity and Fluttershy! The atmosphere then changed again and Twilight found herself in Ponyville once more with a dazed Fluttershy and Rarity. "Ooh...that was...different." Fluttershy said while somewhat dazed. "Indeed dear. I feel as if my hooves are about to turn into sludge!" Rarity dramatically said while her hooves were wobbling uncontrollably. "Oh my. I'm terribly sorry about that everypony! It seems I forgot to explain the...erm...side effects. No worries though! It'll go away soon enough." Mirror Image explained. "Anyway, what did you think Miss?" He asked the stunned Twilight. "That. Was. AMAZING!! Incredible! I never thought you had such a talent for this kind of thing! You're most definitely unique Mirror! Ooh I've gotta add this to my studies right away!" Twilight rambled on while Rarity sighed in exasperation. "Twilight dear, I know you were amazed and all, but did you forget why we're currently here?" Rarity asked. Twilight regained her bearings and laughed in embarrassment. "Ha ha! Oops. I kinda forgot Rarity. Thanks for reminding me! Let's go in shall we?" MLP All four ponies entered the tent and split up to look at the fine exhibits it had to offer. It was a lot bigger on the inside due to an enlargement spell. Rarity looked at the fine jewelry while Fluttershy looked at books of ancient animals thought to have been long forgotten. Twilight meanwhile, looked at a book called Equestrian Legends. As soon as she touched the book, she thought she heard a voice of sorts. It was a kind and gentle voice, but filled with an unknown power. "Please...stop...chaos...doomed...name...Xer..." "Are you alright?" A voice asked snapping Twilight out of her stupor. She turned around and saw a concerned Mirror Image looking at her with worry. "Oh. I'm fine. Thank you for asking!" Twilight responded. "I just...uh...took an interest in this book is all." She said half-lying. Mirror Image's concern grew to back to his kind smile and said, "Well that's very good to hear. If I can recall, if you're interested in this book, I do have copies for sale. Would you like to buy one?" He asked. "Sure! I'd love to." Twilight said happily thanking Celestia that he bought her half-lie. Mirror Image summoned a copy of Equestrian Legends and gave it to Twilight. "That miss, will be seven Bits please." Mirror said. Twilight paid Mirror who graciously accepted. Rarity then bought a necklace for fifteen Bits, while Fluttershy bought a book on ancient animals for ten Bits. They then politely excused themselves and left to their respective homes while a smiling Mirror happily waved his hoof in farewell. As for Twilight, she kept thinking the same thing over and over. Chapter 4: ~Mysteries and Thefts~ After visiting the interesting Tent of Legends attraction run by a kind pony named Mirror Image, Twilight arrived back at her home in Ponyville Library- her current residence. Twilight used a spell and opened up the door to find everything in proper order. No doubt thanks to Spike. She then looked around to see if he was currently around and spotted a note on the shelf. ~Dear Twilight, In case you're wondering where I am, I went out into the market to buy some groceries since we're almost running out. Hope you're not too worried! Anyway, I'll be back later tonight. If Rarity stops by, tell her I said hi ok?~ ~Your Number One Assistant, Spike Twilight managed a small giggle. Even when Spike is busy, he still has time to think about Rarity. She decided to eat a little snack consisting of apples and one glass of milk. As she ate, her thoughts went back to the mysterious voice she heard in the Tent of Legends. All she could recall were the words "*Chaos", *"Doomed", and a name that just randomly popped into her head- "Xerneas". Just thinking about it made her involuntarily shiver. She decided not to dwell on it and began reading the book she bought titled Equestrian Legends. After about an hour, Twilight couldn't put the book down! There were so many amazing legends that she never knew (or heard) about! Such as The Sun and Moon's Rivalry, Slendermane, even a particularly interesting one called The XY War. She began reading the latter legend: "Back then...in ancient times, before the great birth of the great Royal Pony Sisters, there was a barren wasteland that would soon be known as Equestria. This would also be where two powerful forces would wage battle against one another. That battle would be a battle of Harmony and Destruction. The forces collided for centuries, while their followers fought one another as well. Friends became enemies and enemies became friends. One day, the forces gathered enough energy for one final attack. The two opposing energies clashed against each other and then...vanished, creating a beautiful vast land of peaceful energy. With the war now over, the Age of Equestria would blossom. However, no one would ever know what ever happened to the two opposing forces known as Harmony (whom was called X) and Destruction (whom was called Y). Eventually, these two letters formed the names: Xerneas & Yveltal..." "Wow! What an interesting tale!" Twilight exclaimed to herself. She put a hoof to her chin and thought to herself, 'Xerneas and...Yveltal? *Why does it feel like I know those names? Hmm...I can't seem to place them. I don't even know why or how I know them!'* A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. She got up from her position and opened the door only for her nose to be knocked on by...Pinkie Pie. It appeared she didn't even know Twilight answered the door until Twilight gave a small cough. Pinkie Pie was a pink Earth Pony with a cotton candy styled mane and tail. Her Cutie Mark was three balloons on her rump. This signified her talent for throwing parties and making everypony smile! "HI TWILIGHT!! DID YOU SEE THE SUPER-DUPER AMAZING FANTASTIC TENT OF LEGENDS ATRRACTION?!! OOH! NO BETTER YET, DID YA SEE THE NEW PONY IN TOWN? HUH? DIDJA, DIDJA, DIDJA?! I GOTTA THROW HIM A Welcome To Ponyville (albeit temporarily) Party!! OOH! I GOTTA MAKE PLANS AND-" Pinkie Pie was about to continue before Twilight quickly put a hoof to Pinkie's mouth to shut her motormouth up. "Yes Pinkie I did." Twilight said with an annoyed sigh. "Now could you stop shouting in my face?" She asked politely. "I'm soooo sorry Twilight! Hee hee. I'm just so nervicited!" Pinkie said enthusiastically. Twilight quietly gritted her teeth in slight frustration (A.N. Wouldn't you be if someone interrupted your reading time and shouted in your face?) and asked Pinkie, "Why else are you here Pinkie?" Pinkie put a hoof to her chin and bluntly stated, "I don't remember! Ha ha!" Twilight shook her head and closed the door as Pinkie bounced off to Celestia-Knows-Where. She then looked at the time and saw that it was already 7:00 PM! Where was Spike? He should've been back by now. 'Relax Twilight. I'm sure he's fine. Probably just saying hi to Rarity. Yeah. That's all!' She thought to herself. Still, after another hour of reading (and constantly watching the time on the clock), he STILL hadn't come back! 'Ok. That's it! Something has GOT to be wrong! Don't worry Spike! I'm coming!' Twilight panicked. She then ran out the door out into Ponyville. Meanwhile... Spike was running. From what he did not know. All he remembered was heading to Ponyville Market to buy some groceries for him and Twilight, restock on some gems, maybe even say hi to Rarity. However, it seemed fate had other plans for our favorite baby dragon. ~Flashback~ After he bought the necessary supplies needed, he suddenly heard a scream. He immediately headed toward the scream's location and found it to be none other than Fluttershy's cottage! It appeared that Rainbow Dash had heard it too because she was there as well; albeit nearly knocked out from exhaustion. Spike could see that the inside of Fluttershy's cottage was covered in blood along with a nearly-dead Fluttershy lying weakly on the ground. As for Rainbow, she is of the Pegasus race and is cyan in color with a rainbow colored mane. Her Cutie Mark was a Sonic Rainboom in the shape of a lightning bolt. This showed her talent at her being able to fly at high speeds and perform a Sonic Rainboom. She seemed to be fighting some sort of...bee? It was of a yellow color with black stripes around it's abdomen. Red lenses were where it's eyes should be and finally, it had transparent bug-like wings with spear-like hands! "Is that all you got you overgrown bug?!" Rainbow shouted in defiance. "Cause I'm just getting started!" The bee finally spoke. "Clearly this is a waste of time. I expected more from some pony like you. Especially with you being one of the Elements. No matter. We will take the Element of Magic! Now we will ask again: WHERE IS IT?!" The bee shouted. It then shot out a glob of poison; effectively knocking Rainbow unconscious. The bee then frustratingly flew away to Celestia-Knows-Where. Spike was beyond scared. Not only that, how'd this thing even know about The Elements Of Harmony? Something like this that could go toe-to-toe with Rainbow was no doubt a big threat to all of Equestria. Wait. The bee said "we". Then does that mean... Suddenly, before Spike can finish his train of thought, a beam composed of dark energy with swirling rings fired at Spike! He hit the ground hard and blood oozed from his forehead. What he saw, would give him nightmares for quite some time. It had glowing red pupiless eyes, sharp canine teeth, a mane that looked as if it was on fire, and wicked deadly claws. The thing- whatever it was- dripped saliva hungrily at Spike. He then ran as fast as his feet could carry him. ~Flashback Ends~ As he finished reminiscing, he heard a howl in the night. It was absolutely terrifying. Especially with the full moon out. He just had to warn Twilight about all this! But how? He then heard a growl coming from behind him. He turned ever so slowly...AND SAW THE BEAST! Where is the Element of Magic?" It growled in intimidation. "I'll never talk!" Spike said in defiance. "Then you will die...LIKE A DOG!" The wolf creature shouted. It slashed at him with it's claws which left a noticeable gash on Spike's chest. He gasped at this. There could hardly be a creature that can pierce through dragon scales! "Now know the name of your killer. I am Xehanort!" The beast now known as Xehanort chuckled darkly. Spike took a step back while Xehanort advanced. Spike made one last gamble. He blew the biggest flame he could at Xehanort who shrugged it off like it was nothing. Finally, Spike screamed, "HELP!" "Foolish dragon! My powers over illusion are way too great! No one can hear you. And no one ever shall as you draw your last breath in this meaningless existence of yours. Prepare to die!" Xehanort lunged, but was shot by a magical beam of energy. Spike turned around and saw Twilight standing there with an angry glare at Xehanort. "Leave. Spike. ALONE!!" She shouted. To Be Continued!
