1 Prologue: Wilson's journal
Day 1
I have started hearing voices. They call out to me in ways that make me think I'm crazy, but I know i'm not. They tell me how to create constructs that use both science and magic. As far as the non-magical constructs go I have checked my library and found many simalar designs and proofs of the concept, this tell me that these voices must be real.
Day 2
They are getting louder. Being a scientist as I am my family usually leaves me alone; I have all the resources I need in my minilab and have gone days without coming out of it before. This means I'm alone with these voices, and even if they were able to help or understand any of this, they wouldn't. They act as though I am insane as is and hearing voices would not concern them any more. Perhaps the voices are a good thing... at least they give me company.
Day 3
They voices have stopped. They left me like they had never been there.Now its worse there is a voice on my radio. This voice is promising me forbidden knowledge and I am inclined to take it. I figured I would make this journal entry before I tried anything so my recent experiences could be recorded if something happens.
Day 3 later(day 1 in wilderness)
I don't know if i'm dreaming, if i'm crazy or anything anymore. After responding to the voice he showed me everything I needed to know to build an amazing machine.The only problem is what it does. Upon completion I noted a dark aura about the machine, but with the voice urging me to activate it and unfortunately my own curiosity I did. Now I am in the wilderness. There seems to be no civilization around anywhere. I am writing this at dusk, the sun is just falling over the horizon. I figure I need to be able to see in the dark if I want to be safe and wish to provide my self a weapon so I have created a few torches with grass and sticks.
Day 4(day 2 in wilderness)
The voices! It makes sense now. They were teaching me how to survive here. All the inventions using very basic resources, they are meant to be built here to help me survive. I have started to create the first construct. The cheapest most basic one. These voices advice along with the forbidden knowledge I received from my captor will make this much easier. Using some spare flints I found I have made a makeshift ax and gotten all the wood I require for a fire and the machine. Now I just need rocks and gold to complete it and my fire pit. Also I am getting very hungry. Yesterday I didn't bother looking for food because I was more busy exploring and trying to get materials to make fire. Today all I managed to find was some berries. I figure that I'm going to have to learn to live with less while I'm here so I guess it is a good idea to eat less. The resources here will quickly be consumed.
Day 3
I am changing my day numbering slightly, from now on I will be keeping track of the day number since I arrived here rather than when i started hearing the voices.I have found a road. Apparently there either was or is civilization around here somewhere. I followed the road down both directions. Heading what I believe is north, if the moss on trees trick works here, I found a dead end ,but there were some berry bushes where I ended so I managed to replenish some of my hunger. Going south I found to farm plots each about the size for one crop, but I could probably fit two each if i needed. Also there was a shovel stuck into the ground. Unfortunately makeshift like my ax, but its useful all the same. I also found a weird metal object shaped like a potato; it looks advanced so I'm keeping it who knows when it may be useful.
Day 4
I will never go into the dark again. Tonight I was running late getting back to where I set up my fire and it got dark. I had the resources for a torch so I began to make one. Thing is the whole time I was hearing this clicking noise and it was getting louder. It only took me a few seconds to make that torch and light it, but whatever it was hit me from behind once. However once I lit it the noise vanished and the creature disappeared. I am now in the dead of night tending to my wounds.
Day 5
something else found my fire.

Author's note: I am tryign my luck at a MLP and Don't Starve crossover. I love both and decided it woudl be funny to bring them together. This is wilson's prolougue the next one's will be one or more of the MLP characters. Hope you enjoyed the story.
Twilight put another book down on the stack. More specifically the fourteenth stack she had around the room. She had been doing some research on every kind of anomaly she could find. There had been strange occurrences around PonyVille lately and magic levels in Equestria were going off the charts. (set up by twilight of course.) She was inclined to believe Discord to be behind all of these strange occurrences especially since she could not find anything on them in here books.Well that is not including the fictional and myth section. She had; however learned her lesson from the last time with Zecora. She went to the fiction section next before thinking of the books she had borrowed from the princess. she ran up stairs to get the book seeing as she could not fly all to well yet and pulled out one of the two books from the Canterlot library. This book was mysterious even to the princess who had gotten it from a traveler. On the front were the printed words Don't Panic written in big friendly letters. This book had helped her in research more times than she would like to admit. It was an encyclopedia of sorts except it moved for you and gave audio explanation. If any book would help her solve this it was probably this one.
Twilight opened the book with care and started stating the various effects being felt around Equestria. After a short period of time the book came up with the most possible cause.It read aloud
"The Nightmare Cycle. The Nightmare Cycle is an event that takes place in another universe. This universe contains imprisonment for some of the worst creatures out there. Shadow beasts. These creatures powers cycle from stronger to weaker in the nightmare cycle. Every thousand years give or take a few the cycle will break for a short period of time and the creatures will be at full power . they are known to try and pull people from other dimensions into theirs ,but it is unknown what happens to them. When at full power these creatures can cause major disturbances in the other dimensions. It is very important tha-
CRASH!
Twilight had been hear long enough to know the crash was likely one of 4 things. 1 Rainbowdash. 2 spike 3. Discord having a friendly visit 4. whatever was causing this anomaly. The "Hey Twilight!" that came out revealed it was in fact the first choice.
" Do you know where Fluttershy is. She was not home when I checked earlier." Dash asked worried.
Twilight looked embarrassed "I forgot to tell you. She left earlier today to go check on Discord. Apparently she hasn't heard from him for a while, and he did not reply to any of her letters. You were out practicing when she told me she had to go."
Dash stared out in blatant disapproval "i still don't trust him" she stated.
" It is difficult to trust a god of chaos." Twilight replied." I am in the middle of some very important research right now Dash do you mind if i get back to it?"she inquired eager to learn more about this "nightmare cycle." Dash rolled her eyes and laughed.
"back to being an egg head already Twilight?" She then laughed again and asked " actaully I just finished practice and was planning on going to Fluttershy's, do you mind if i stay here and read some daring doo?"
Twilight honestly did not want an interruption, but it was a public library,she was the librarian, and that means that she can't have the library closed whenever she wants. the mayor had already warned her it needed to be opened more.
"yes" she said "just try to keep it down this is a library after all."
Dash grabbed a Daring Doo book off the shelf and began reading when twilight went back to the book.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Twilight was interrupted from her studies again as there was a sudden pounding on the door. Considering Dash was already here and it was a knock not a crash or just barge in it was probably Pinkie or rarity, or possibly applejack. The last was the most probable as pinkie could get in anyway she wanted and rarity would never hit the door hard enough for fear of chipping a hoof. Her magic griped the handle and the door opened to exactly the opposite of what she expected. There stood a panting worried looking Fluttershy.
"Twilight get the elements and meet me at the train station I have express tickets for us all to Canterlot no time to explain"
Just like that Fluttershy was gone back to the train Dash and twilight figured. Did discord do something and what could have Fluttershy this worked up darted through both dash's and twilight's mind.
"Dash you go get Pinkie and Applejack, I'll go get Rarity." twilight announced and raced out in an instant.
--------At the train station---------
"hurry" Fluttershy called to her friends all rushing her way in panic.They huddle onto the train in the big cart made for the princesses.
"So whats al this bout `sugar cube." Applejack asked Fluttershy as the train started moving.
Dash interjected "It was Discord wasn't it, I swear if he did anything to hurt anypony i'll make sure he stays trapped in stone forever."
Fluttershy quickly responded "no its nothing like that, Discord's gone missing and there is a strange machine in his room. Twilight might be able to figure out what it does,but it felt evil and nothing like Discord's usual chaotic creations."
Dash was instantly angered "so Discord made sort of evil machine and its up to us to destroy it and hunt down Discord."
Rarity chirped next "Dash, I know you don't like Discord, but do you have to think so badly. Fluttershy said he's missing and he is one of our friends albeit mostly Fluttershy's, but we still need to help."
Dash rolled her eyes and said "fine" flatly before laying down and saying "wake me up when we get there."
Pinkie had actaully been quiet for most of this ride. to quiet. Twilight was the first to notice.Pinkie was not in the car anymore.
"where'd Pinkiepie go?" she asked.
Applejack was the only one that seemed to know " She said she was leaving the car because she didn't want to ruin the surprise at discord's by being told." Applejack said, "I'll go get her."
Moments later Pinkie rejoined the group and for the rest of the ride everypony talked, except for Fluttershy... and Dash because she was asleep.
---------At Canterlot train station-------
The train slowed to a stop and the six ponies walked out. Celestia stood waiting at the station. Apparently made their arrival known to the princess.
"Twilight, long time no see ." Twilight heard the princess say
" There has not been a reason to visit for a while." she responded.
Celestia decided to end the small talk before it actaully began "Well it's wonderful to see all of you,but according to the letter you sent me you have more urgent affairs."
Twilight nodded. The group walked into the castle and all the way up to Discord's room before stopping outside his door. Fluttershy was the only one other than Discord welcomed into this room at all times, but since she had given the princess reason to intrude she stated that they could go in , but must be extremely careful. Celestia went first slowly pushing the door in slightly and stepping slowly and cautiously into the room of a chaos god. Nothing was as it should be. There was a bed made of cotton candy. There was a window that had the curtains hung upside down. a table lamp on the roof and various trinkets spread around the room whether stuck into a wall the ceiling the floor or just floating in mid air. One thing stood out above all else to them. A large mechanical monstrosity sat in the middle of the room. Everypony but Fluttershy was staring at it. What Fluttershy stared at was on the bed. There sat a tall skinny bipedal creature in a dark suit.
" That was not here the first time." Fluttershy said backing away.
When everypony looked at it even Celestia seemed confused; however, Twilight knew exactly what this was only she and one other pony known have ever seen them.
"What is it Twilight" pinkie called out sensing that she knew. Everypony looked at her as she said.
"That is a human."
Author's Note
So I am planning on working on this story a lot. I want to make this as good as possible for any new readers or fans of Don't Starve and obviously My Little Pony.
Also, I should mention that this takes place between the equestria girls movie and the season 4 premiere where they got rid of the elements, and if the story itself looks bad grammar wise or punctuation is incorrect. Feel free to let me know in the comment section I would love you constructive criticism.
