By looking at Ponville's library it would have seemed normal, almost peaceful. And you would be right, at least for a few moments.

It was a seemingly normal morning in the Sparkle household. With Twilight Sparkle levitating numerous books around herself, studying even though it was only 7 in the morning. Spike the dragon was making breakfast. Everything seemed seemingly normal. That was until Twilight looked at the calendar.

"WAIT TODAY IS WHAT" Twilight screeched "I thought that wasn't for another month. Oh how time flies." Twilight began to run around the library frantically pulling out random papers and looking frantic.

"What's wrong Twi" asked Spike.

"Spike do you know what today is" Twilight asked frantically.

"I don't know the 11th" Spike answered.

"Yes but what month" Twilight pushed.

"May" Spike answered casually.

"Exactly its Mother's Day. I didn't realize it was today" Twilight franticly spoke "But thanks to my planning skills I seem to have it planned". "Now lets see what I have to get ready for" she said as she began to look through her many notes.

While Twilight was frantically figuring out what he was to do, Spike was experiencing his own problems. 'Ugh today is Mothers Day' he though ' It's the one holiday I absolutely hate". Spike began to head upstairs to get away from Twilight's worrying. He went and flopped down on his bed and began to think of all the past Mother's Days. Every year they reminded Spike of the fact that his Mother was a dragon, who knows where. Twilight would do something with her mom and every year she would ask him if he would like to come and he normally would say yes. But it was always an awkward outing for him. 'This year though' Spike thought 'I'm going to make sure that I have a decent Mother's Day'.

Twilight was able to piece together that she had reservations to a restaurant and that her mother would come in about an hours. Twilight was able to breath now with the fact that she had everything under control. "Spike" Twilight called "Do you want to come down to the station with me to get my mom".

"No" Spike called back down as he finished his plan for a decent time. He then waited for Twilight to leave. When he heard the front door close he rushed down the stairs and slipped out the door. Spike then started to head to the market to find out what his friends were going to do. He looked around and saw the Crusaders running through the market area. He ran over calling for there attention. "Hey guys, have anything planned for today" Spike asked hopefully.

"Yeah Spike I'm going be seein' my folks" Applebloom answered.

"Wait no intention to sound rude, but you have parents. I mean I've just never seen them around" Spike said.

"Well they both work for the rodeo" Applebloom answered "But they travel alot so I don't seem 'em often".

"Oh, well what about you Scootaloo" Spike asked.

"Spending time with my mom. Duh" Scootaloo said "You know what you do on Mother's Day."

Spike hesitated from saying that he doesn't exactly do that. "Oh well what about you Sweetie Belle" Spike asked.

"Im going to spend time with my mom and sister. Were going to this restaurant and I made her this picture..' Sweetie Belle prattled off at Spike.

"Oh well great good for you Sweetie" Spike said cutting her off. Before the others could say anything else Spike ran off. When he was out of site of his friends he saw that he was by the train station. He was about to turn back and head back to town when he heard Twilight call out to him.

"Spike, you decided to come after all! I was meaning to ask you do you want to go out to eat with us" Twilight asked with a hint of hopefulness in her voice.

"Umm no thanks Twilight" Spike responded "I have....other plans".

"Oh well I guess we see you later then" Twilight said with some disappointment.

"Oh I was looking forward to talk with you Spike" Twilight Velvet called over her shoulder as she and her daughter walked away.

Spike watched as they walked away regretting for a second not taking up her offer but remembered that he had a plan to follow and needed to go to his next stop. After walking a little further he came to Fluttershy's cottage and knocked on the door.

"Oh Spike how are you" Fluttershy asked when she answered the door.

"Oh just fine Fluttershy, I was umm wondering what you were planning on doing today" Spike asked.

"Oh well my Mother should be arriving soon. I plan to spend some time catching up with her" Fluttershy answered.

"That's great Flutters. Glad your going to have a nice day" Spike said.

"Is everything alright Spi- Mother hi so good to see you come in" Fluttershy quickly cut of when she saw her Mom.

"Hello dear. Are you going to invite me inside" Fluttershy's asked.

"Oh yes Mother. Sorry Spike we can talk later" Fluttershy said. Then after her mom was is the cottage she closed the door behind her.

Spike sighed and walked away. 'There has to be one of my friends who's not doing anything today'. As he walked to his other friend's house's he found similar results. Rainbow Dash was flying off to see her mom and Pinkie's mom was already with her.

"So So Sorry Spikey but I haven't seen my Mommy in like forever" Pinkie had said to him.

"Pinkamina, dear we saw each other 6 months ago for your sisters birthday" Pinkie's mom replied to her.

Defeated Spike walked away. He had thought at least SOMEONE would have not been doing something. But apparently he was wrong. If only he knew his mom was. Then Spike thought of something. "That's it" Spike cried out loud "I'll go ask Zecora if she can help me".
