Rainbow Dash lightly and quietly lands in front of the front of the library door and looks ready to make a polite knock but before her hoof can reach the door her face takes on a huge grin and proceeds to all but bash in the door with her knock.

" Zzzzzz... Huuuh?.. What's with the banging? The door? " Twilight said more than asked and when she looked at her alarm clock. 5:01 AM? Who'd be knocking on the door this early in the morning?
" This had better be good! " She said as she looked out the window to see that the sun wasn't even up yet and she grumbled as she slowly got out of bed and sleepy stumbled to the door to open it as Spike muttered something about it still being night and went back to sleep as the knocking continued.
And when she opened the door; " Rainbow Dash? This had better be------ EEEEEKK! " Twilight yelled as Rainbow Dash quickly grabbed her and then ran to Spike's bed and woke up him up by grabbing him and the next thing they knew they were sitting on Rainbow Dash's back
" Hang on! This is going to be a hoot!! " Rainbow Dash said as she flew off into the air at a speed that Twilight didn't know she was capable of doing with somepony on her.
The next thing Twilight knew she was in front of Fluttershy's home with nearly every pony she knew and/or talked to standing around and there were quite a few she didn't know that well but she had seen them in Ponyville all the time. She became very, very curious.
" You made it Twilight! This is going to be fun! Well; it's always fun but now that you can join us it'll be more fun, fun. FUN! " Pinkie Pie said as soon as she hopped to where Rainbow Dash landed and pony handled them to where they were now standing and looking confused as much as they were annoyed for being woke up.
" What are you going on about and why did Rainbow Dash wake me up and drag me and Spike to a meeting in the middle of the night in front of Fluttershy's home??!! " Twilight demanded to know.
" It's already past five. " Rainbow Dash said in a offhoofed manner as if it wasn't that important that she had grabbed them without any warning.
" You did tell Twilight and Spike what this shingding before you brought her here didn't you Rainbow Dash? " Apple Jack asked with a stern look on her face.
" I knew we should've just sent her an invite like we do with everypony in Ponyville instead of trusting Rainbow Dash to say something beforehand like she said she would; She does so get carried away when it comes to this little party. " Rarity said with her normal for her dramatic flair
" What and have her turn us down? No way! " Rainbow Dash said as if Twilight should have no say in whatever was going on.
" Will Somepony be kind enough to tell me; WHAT IN PONYVILLE IS GOING ON!!?? " Twilight asked looking ready to go ballistic.
" Ok, Ok; Don't get your tail in a knot; Let me explain it to you like this. " Rainbow Dash said as she walked towards the small platform stage in front of Fluttershy's home " {{ It's that time of year when we plot and plan to steal a box from Fluttershy and we have yet to win because this is no normal and she protects it with all kinds traps, plans and other things and if she gets it to Canterlot before we can. We will lose yet again and now that my song is done do you understand? }} " Rainbow Dash sang.
" Worst lyrics ever..." Spike said with annoyed grumpy look. To think he was woke up for this nonsense!
Then Twilight and Spike looked at each other with knowing looks and then they looked at Rainbow Dash and took a deep breath and yelled.
" NO! WE DON'T UNDERSTAND!!! " They both yelled together.
" I think you better explain it to them without the singing dear and do go into more details. " Rarity said with a flutter of her eyebrows.
" Ok, Ok,...Yeech; Everypony is a critic; Ok, It's like this; As you know Fluttershy's last name is Posey. " Rainbow Dash said as she stood a bit above them on the stand.
" So what? Posey is a pretty common last name for many ponies; It's not exactly that big of a big of a deal. " Twilight said as she looked a bit confused as to why Rainbow Dash would consider Fluttershy's last name interesting.
" I'm done here yet!!! Now as I was trying to say is Fluttershy's last name is Posey but she isn't your everyday run of the mill one; She is related to THE Poseys; As in the Poseys that make the most mouthwatering, best tasting, most costly and best hard candy with the best tippy top secret candy recipe in all of Equestria!! " Rainbow Dash said with a smirky knowing look at Twilight and Spike.
" You don't mean.. " Spike started to say and began to drool quite a bit.
" The golden raindrop? As in THE golden raindrop? " Twilight asked and even managed to drool herself a bit before she noticed what she was doing and she shook and cleared her head enough to stop thinking about it enough to stop drooling.
" That's the one! and every year in the spring; Fluttershy goes to some big city like Canterlot to sell the golden raindrops she made over the winter and we try to steal a box so we can eat all that mouthwatering candy for free! " Rainbow Dash said with a greedy look on her face.
" But I don't understand; If Fluttershy makes the candy and sells it to places like Canterlot; Don't that mean she uses the bits for things she needs to say nothing of the fact that if you steal it she will be out of the bits could get for the candy? " Twilight asked with a disapproving look and voice.
" Relax Twilight; I'd never leave Fluttershy hanging like that; For one thing she makes most of her bits caring for ponies pets when and then there's the chicken eggs she sells and any freebies she can find whenever she has to go into Everfree forest and other places she knows about."
" There's also the trust fund her parents give her; There are also a few rules to this caper and only one of the boxes is small enough to take on the run and that's the one we go after and the fact that it's the last box to be sold makes it a lot easier to nab too. " Rainbow Dash said with a sly grin on her face.
" What Rainbow Dash isn't saying is that we made it a rule that we will all make up for it if we win. Plus only ponies who have lived in Ponyville for five years or was born here can join the party which is why you were never allowed to join until today. " Rarity added with a radiant smile.
" I guess as long as Fluttershy will be ok; But there's still a few things I don't understand; Like how does she make it and to even find time to make it and how you plan to take it and what's was that about her parents? I thought they were dead or something. " Twilight said as she scratched her chin with her hoof in puzzlement.
" I'm kind-of wondering that myself." Spike said as he almost mirrored Twilight.
" Those are very good questions: I got no idea where anypony got the idea that Fluttershy don't have parents or any family for that matter; Fact is she comes from a good sized family like me but most of them live in Cloudsdale and almost never leave it and don't tell Fluttershy that I told you this but her parents and siblings are really big time rich snobs and I do mean really BIG time rich snobs. "
" Now as to how she makes it Sorry but even I respect the fact that the recipe is a family secret and we don't go snooping into it; As to the time issue. "
" She has more time in winter because many animals leave for the south or hibernate and when the ponies pick up their pets it gets pretty quiet for her during the weekday when we don't normally visit and most of the animals can take care of themselves so they always make sure they give her plenty of time to have fun and stuff.. Though she have a lot more free time if she'd get rid of Angel but don't you dare say that I told you that one...."
" Now as to how we are going to take it.... " Rainbow Dash said as she puts on a WW 2 style helmet with two general stars and pulls out a corkboard from behind the small platform and points with an old style pointing stick at a picture of Fluttershy's cottage on the board as Pinkie Pie puts on a green Beret with a corporal medal and to the other side of the corkboard and saluted the crowd.
" Ok troops; This is Fluttershy's cottage and it appears to be your typical everyday lovely cottage in the county right??.. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!. " Rainbow Dash said as Pinkie Pie flipped the corkboard to another picture of Fluttershy's home. This one had all kinds of tunnels, caves, hidey-holes, secret rooms and a ton of stuff in and underneath the cottage to the point a pony could only see a bit of the outline of the house.
" This is the real Fluttershy cottage; A maze of tunnels, cave and secrets that to this day have not been fully mapped and to say nothing of the fact we are dealing with Ponyville's number one best keeper of secrets. " Rainbow Dash said as she looked at them with a face that screamed; Do you begin to understand me now?....
" That's amazing! Just how many secrets does Fluttershy have? " Spike asked as he stared at the map
" That's just it! Nopony knows! It's scary, scary, SCARY!! " Pinkie Pie stretched her neck to say it in Spike's face as he gulped in reaction.
" Get back to your post corporal and remember who's in charge of this caper!! " Rainbow Dash said
" Yes sir! Yes sir! " Pinkie Pie said as she stopped stretching her neck and saluted again,
" Anymore questions? " Rainbow Dash asked Twilight
" Yes! Why don't you just ask her for a piece of candy or two instead of all this nonsense? " Twilight asked with a you got to be kidding me look.
" Because of rule number one and two; NEVER ASK FOR A PEICE OF CANDY AND IT'S NOT OVER UNTIL I SAY IT'S OVER!! "Rainbow Dash yelled at her causing Twilight to look like the words hit her and caused confusion for a bit before she shook her head and started to say something else.
Suddenly Fluttershy's cottage lit up like a luge lamp and search lights seem to come out of the middle of nowhere on the house to look for them and then the lights shined on them.
" Oh great! You did it.. AGAIN! Miss Blabbermouth. " Apple Jack said with a tired look
"Oh dear; So much for our sneak attack again!! I really should've not come this year; My mane always gets ruined and the lack of a surprise attack will not help it but I want that candy sooo much! " Rarity half complained.
" This happens every year? Isn't it great? " Pinkie Pie said than asked Twilight as if she couldn't have guessed that one for herself.
Rainbow Dash blushed and grinned.. " Ooopsie... Sorry about that! " She said as she rubbed the back of her mane with her hoof .
Fluttershy quickly came out of her cottage wearing a black beret with a major medal and a few other medals on it and on her back she had a saddle backpack and she also wore a full military styled jacket that had a lot of patches, medals and other stuff on it and then with a hoof she pulled out what looked like a large straw from her saddle backpack.
" You're not going to win Rainbow Dash! You hear me?! Sorry about this! " Fluttershy said loudly then more softly.
" Is that a pea shooter? " Spike asked as he looked at the straw in Fluttershy's hoof.
" Yes; It's the one she uses when critters don't mind her and the stare don't stop them from misbehaving; This is gonna hurt iffen we get hit by that peashooter of hers. " Apple Jack said as she pulled her hat down a bit with a grimace.
" HIT THE DECK! " Pinkie Pie yelled as Fluttershy put the peashooter to her mouth.
" Oh come on; what harm can a pea... YYEEEEOW! " Spike yelled as hundreds of hard dry peas went flying by him and nearly hitting him, Twilight and the others as they quickly hid behind the platform as yelps of being hit could be heard as they ran away.
" Cowards! That means no candy for you!! " Rainbow Dash yelled as they hid behind the small platform.
" Get back here Big Mac! " Apple Jack yelled when Big Mac got hit and he was now running away!
" NOPE! " He yelled back as he and other fleeing ponies left them behind.
" How is she doing that? It seems more like something Pinkie Pie can do! " Spike asked as the peas seem to go from hundreds to thousands of peas as it caused most of the ponies to flee to try again next year.. Maybe...
" How should I know I didn't even she had a peashooter! " Twilight said as she tried to get lower than she already was.
Soon only Twilight, Rarity, Apple Jack, Pinkie Pie, rainbow Dash, The cutiemark crusaders and Spike were left.
" She sure is serious about this; I'll give Fluttershy that one. " Spike said as more peas went flying by.
" Oh; This is not serious; She's a long way from being serious but it is time to get moving now that the wimps are gone. " Rainbow Dash said as she pressed on a nearby rock that caused it to open and reveal a hidden tunnel.
" You've got to be kidding!!! You mean there really are hidden tunnels under Fluttershy's home? " Twilight and Spike asked together as they looked into the tunnel hole with big wide eyes.
" Of course there is silly! " Pinkie Pie said as she put a miner's cap on Twilight's and Spike's head.
" I have my own light Pinkie Pie. " Twilight said as she magically took the helmet and lit up her unicorn horn with a light spell she knew and they went in together one by one except for Spike who got on Twilight's back.
" Oh dear, oh dear; now it's going to be a lot harder to make them give up. " Fluttershy said as she re-entered her home and quickly pulled on a bust of Princess Luna given to her by Luna for "helping" her and pushed the button it revealed underneath it and then she went to the hidden opening it revealed and she went down the hidden slide with an "EEP! WEE! " as she slid down to her underground network of tunnels.
Meanwhile somewhere in one of the many dimly lit tunnels.....
" Not that I'm complaining or anything but what's with all the tunnels underneath Fluttershy's home and please don't tell me it's all to protect the golden raindrop recipe. " Twilight said as she looked at as she looked at a underground room full of boxes and tables of many sizes. It looked very much like a sorting room.
Still walking.
" Naw; Of course not; If Fluttershy was to put all the animal care she needs and uses to care for animals into her home she would have no room for herself or her animal friends in her house even with most of them living outside. " Rainbow Dash.
" That makes sense; So this place is filled with stuff like animal shampoo; And other stuff. " Twilight said as she saw the protective bubble thing that Fluttershy had used to Discord in when he had really was sick; So this is where it came from and where it went she thought to herself.
More walking.
" Of course there's other stuff silly; I just know this is where she hides her yummy root beer; But I can never can find it! It's not fair! " Pinkie Pie pouted as she looked in a room full of animal brushes.
And even more walking.
" She wouldn't need to hide it iffen you didn't drink all of it every time you get a chance; But Pinkie Pie's right There's a heap of stuff under here that Ponyville wouldn't be the same without it; I wonder where she keeps her personal stash of homemade cider. " Apple Jack said as she looked into a room full of animal washtubs.
" I hear ya; I'd drink at least one barrel dry before she could stop me even if's not as good as yours. " Rainbow Dash said as they passed a room full all kinds of animal care products.
" Personally; I'd love to know where she gets the gold and silver.. Not that I'd take it without paying her but I just love to know where it is and just know it's somewhere nearby! " Rarity said as the tunnels started to have more carefully made walls than carefully made rooms.
" Root beer, cider, gold and silver? Seriously? Are we talking about the same pony who never seems to have enough bits when she goes shopping? " Twilight asked as she looked doubtful about the info.
" Oh she's got plenty of bits Twilight but she's afraid to carry much with her and getting mugged that one time a long time ago didn't help.. If I ever get my hooves on that...Ahem.. In any case she keeps most of her stuff here including all the land deeds she owns and before you ask why she needs the land so she can keep all the animals around; Why do you think they let her have so many? Sure not because she's our number one expert in animals that's for sure; She needs the room to keep them around after all. She's got more land than Apple Jack because of it in fact. " Rainbow Dash said when she saw Twilight about to ask the question but she soon nodded that she understood.
" You should see the number of bits she donates to that hospital for young colts every year. " Apple Jack said with a thoughtful look.
" Now that sounds like the Fluttershy I know!! But now that I think of it that does explain how she can afford those spa trips with Rarity but I would never have guessed she was rich until now. " Twilight said as she began to hope that Rainbow Dash knew where they were going because the rooms were about the only things to see here.. ' A room full of books?!? " She thought to herself; She was going to ask Fluttershy if she could read any of them even if they were most likely books of animal care and other animal related stuff.
" Well ; I do try to keep her loving the finer things in life; If only she were not so shy we could go to some of the finest places together as friends and see all the sights! " Rarity almost squealed in delight at the thought.
" HEY! Where did Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and Apple Bloom disappear too? This is no place to be getting lost in! " Apple Jack said as soon as she noticed they were missing.
" Don't worry; Fluttershy is tricking them by now and even if she's not she'll see they get home safe; She does know what all the tunnels and what those colors mean on the walls. " Rainbow Dash said as she tried to decide if that gold line would lead to golden raindrops..Naw..Way too easy she thought but she did know the blue line as she had followed it before.. Besides it was best to stick to the plan..
A brief cameo shows Fluttershy's private candy stash room full of candy at the end of the gold line.
" That's true enough.; Don't mean I'm not going to worry until I see them again." Apple Jack looked and wondered if they taken the other tunnel at that three way point they had passed a way back.
Sure enough the cutie marks crusaders were following a wrapped piece of gold colored candy that was being pulled on the ground quite quickly,
" Sorry girls but it looks like you lost again. " Fluttershy said as she finished reeling in her fishing line that she sometimes used to lure certain reluctant animals out of burrows and beds.. Shows her using it to get Angel out of bed.
" She did it again! " Sweetie Belle said with a sad face
" And now we will not get our cutiemarks for helping Rainbow Dash. " Scootaloo said sadly as they all sighed at that thought.
" Or any candy. " Apple Bloom said
" Well maybe I'll give you piece later but for now follow the green line it'll lead you to my house. " Fluttershy said as the girls seem to obey her ..
" Hmm.. Now where is.. OH NO! Rainbow Dash must be heading for the Mine cart area and I left the box out in the open!!! Stupid Fluttershy!. " She said to herself as she quickly ran towards the mine area.
Rainbow Dash and the others had at last arrived at the mine cart zone and Twilight was staring at the sheer size and number of the caves that was the mine cart area.
" Why; it's almost something out of a Daring Do book! " Twilight said as she stared at the this beautiful cavern. She would have to come here for a bit of exploring. then she wondered if it led to the diamond dog caves.. No Fluttershy would've said something about it but then again the place was so gigantic she might not know or it could be too far away to make going there a good idea from her house.. Not that she ever wanted to go there again.
" This place is amazing.. Are those jewels? " Spike asked as he stared at what he thought were gems and drooled a bit
" Isn't this place cool? If they ever wanted to make a movie about Daring Do they could use this place as one of the locations.. OH, MY GOSH! OHMYGOSH! OHMYGOSH! It's the box! We almost won! " Rainbow Dash said as she danced a pony jig.
" Almost won? Don't you mean you won? Say... That box looks awfully recognizable to me. " Twilight said as she stared at it.
" Nope; One of the rules is we got to get it to Canterlot first. " Rainbow Dash said ignoring Twilight.
" You got that much right! " They turned to see that Fluttershy had caught up with them.
" Fluttershy! You sure did mess up this time I know that we only need to take the orange mine cart line to get to Canterlot. " Rainbow Dash said as she hopped into a mine cart and was soon followed by the rest though Twilight did kind-of have to send Spike there with her magic..
" Oh drat.. Guess that don't mean no jewels ..For now. " Spike said with a hunger look in his eyes.
" What makes you think I'll let you do that? " Fluttershy asked as she watched them as if she was unsure what Rainbow Dash was planning.
" Oh; How about I was planning an ambush this whole time? Get her girls! " Rainbow Dash said with a signal.
As soon as she did; Apple Bloom, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle seem to come of the middle of nowhere but were really right behind her as they threw a net over her and they were soon joined by Rainbow Dash as she flew there to help them.
"EEP! " Fluttershy said as they soon had her pinned down as Rainbow Dash drove some stakes into the ground that were attached to the ends of the net.
" I knew you'd use that old lure trick on the girls again but this time they were pretending they got fooled so they are still in the game though I must admit you made it too easy by leaving the box here for me to find but a win is win! " Rainbow Dash said with a smirk as she pushed the cart to get it started.
" You have not won yet! ' Fluttershy said as she pulled a bit of one stake up.
" Oh please we will be long gone before you can escape but don't feel too bad; I just had the better plan this time. Bye! " Rainbow Dash said as the mine cart left her behind.
" EEEK! " Twilight screamed as they made a curve for the first time.
" Yeech; You act like this is the yellow line Twilight; Now there's wild ride for you and best part is Fluttershy will not escape anytime soon. " Rainbow Dash said as she looked calm and cool.
" Ah wouldn't be so sure of that! LOOK! " Apple Jack said pointing who was now flying almost above them and she was catching up.
" I'll be darn; She got out fast! Looks like she's getting a little more serious here! " Rainbow Dash said as she watched Fluttershy pulling out some paintball guns and began to fire at them with quite a bit of accuracy.
The soft paintballs didn't hurt them too much but the shock of being fired on was enough to make them yelp as they hit them and they did feel them!
One shot gave Twilight a red circle or paint around one of her eyes which made Spike laugh that is until he was pelted with blue paint balls over most of his body casing Twilight to laugh in spite of the attack.
Twilight watched as her friend avoided the rocks that were sticking from the roof of the cavern.
" How is she.. " Twilight started to ask.
" Fluttershy can fly fine when she forgets to be all shy and stuff and she.. AHHHHHH! " Rainbow Dash screamed as suddenly a huge rock fell from the cave roof and it was heading strait for them. Then Fluttershy surprised Twilight by putting back her paintball guns and she pulled out.. "NO WAY!!!" She yelled
" What the? What is Fluttershy doing with pony dragoon guns military guns? " Twilight asked but got no reply because that rock was getting too close!
" Range 30 meters! Type two shot! Fire! Fire! Fire!. " Fluttershy yelled as they watched in amazement as the magical powered pony dragoons shot the rock and it stopped the rock from falling as it on them as it was hit over and over and then it began to be move away from them with each shot and slowly it went away from them and fell harmlessly down aside the mine cart.
" To answer your question Twilight.. Fluttershy was in the pony dragoon military for about two years before she moved here.. That's why she such a good shot and there's no point in talking to her about because she will not even tell me but thank goodness she always takes them when she plans to use the mine cart area. " Rainbow Dash said as she went limp with relief.
Twilight watched as Fluttershy took on a very sad look as she looked at the pony dragoons.. " Oh Fluttershy what happen?.. Why would somepony like you do something like that? Was because you are one of the few ponies with the gift to use the pony dragoons or was it because of the laws? And more importantly what happened that makes you look at them so sad? " Twilight asked softly not really wanting the answer for the first time in her life
Fluttershy put the pony dragoons away and got the paintball guns out again as suddenly there was a clear zone and.. " LOOK OUT! " Rainbow Dash yelled as Fluttershy made a nosedive to shoot them more and pelted them with paintballs again and she was soon above them in almost no time.
" Curse you Yellow Baron!! ' Spike yelled.. What? he added when he saw the others staring at him.
" Yellow baron? Really Spike? " Twilight said more than asked as he blushed quite a bit.
" She sure is a good shot. " Apple Bloom said looking to see if they would get shot again as she tried to wipe away some of the paint.
" My mane is ruined! I'll need three spa treatments before I feel like me again! " Rarity complained as she tried to do the same thing.
" Let's just say I wouldn't want to get into a shooting match with her. She's a real pro. " Rainbow Dash said as she whip a bit of the paint off only to cause it to spread more.
" Me too! " Apple Jack said as she looked at her hat.. It was going to need a good wash after this.
" Soo.. You both admit she's better than the two of you at shooting." Twilight said with a smirk unable to resist the dig.
" Ah can shoot.." Apple Jack said with a bit of a blush as she remembered the one time she lost a shooting match to Fluttershy.
" Oh please you can't.. Hey! What's she up too? " Rainbow Dash asked before she could start up one of their infamous who is better fights but got distracted by Fluttershy.
Fluttershy was now flying along aside the and was dodging a few rocky places as they stared at her in amazement at the amazing flying she was doing and when she looked at them with a smile.
" OH NO! The return switch!! If she hits that we will be returned back to where we started!! " Rainbow Dash
" Couldn't you fly to her and stop her? " Twilight asked quickly
" No I can't! It's too dangerous to leave the mine cart once you're in it and it's moving and Fluttershy knows it!! Oh why didn't I fly as a guard? " Rainbow Dash asked herself more than somepony else.
" Yeah; Why didn't you Rainbow Dash? " Spike asked with annoyed look.
' Well... The mine cart is kind-of fun to ride! But as long as the rock is in the way of a clear shot we stand a chance. " Rainbow Dash said with a goofy grin.
Twilight then saw the tight curve and a long bit of rock that stood in her way of hitting the switch.
" There's no way she will make it! " Twilight yelled worriedly.
They watched in horror as the rock got closer and then to their surprise she made a twist of her body and tucking in her legs and now she was flying SIDEWAYS!!!!
" NO WAY!! " Rainbow Dash said as Fluttershy made another turn right side up as soon as she cleared the rock and with a quick hoof and she was soon flying above them once more in another clearing.
" I salute you yellow baron! " Pinkie Pie said with a salute and then saw the others staring at her; What? It's funny!! She said
" It was funnier when I said it. " Spike grumbled under his breath with a very grumpy look.
" Now that was awesome flying! I knew she had it in her!! " Rainbow Dash said in a proud of her friend way.
" Ah would be saving the praise iffen I was the both of you; She's not done with us yet! " Apple Jack said as they saw Fluttershy putting her paintball guns away and she was now pulling something else.
' Are those water bombs?" Pinkie Pie asked SPLAT! SPLAT! As they hit the ponies.
" I'd say yes; Those were water bombs. " Twilight said all dripping wet from the soak from the neck down but she didn't know there was something odd about the water that hit them as more water bombs hit them.
" Ha! Ha! You completely missed.. SPLAT!... Me.. " Spike looked quite annoyed as the ponies laughed over the timing of the final water bombs as it had hit him.
" I guess she is a yellow baron at that.. Hey where is she going? " Twilight watched in surprise as Fluttershy suddenly made a turn and went back towards where she had came from.
" She's taking the shortcut back and chances are she will hit a switch or two if she can keep us from leaving the cart somehow. " Rainbow Dash said as she began to think of her next move and as long as they could move they had the advantage.
" We can still.. What the hay? I Can't move hardly at all! " Apple Jack said as tried to move but she couldn't move!!
The other ponies and Spike all tried to move but were unable to do so.
" It wasn't water she hit us with! It was some kind mixture that is keeping most of our bodies from moving! If she had hit our faces we couldn't even talk right now I dare say! " Twilight said as she tried to move.
" That's it! She's paying for one of my spa treatments! " Rarity said in a way that made it clear that Fluttershy was in for verbal fight if she refused to do it.
" Oh very well played Fluttershy; very well played.. Now I get it. This was one big trap! " Rainbow Dash said as soon as they came up to Fluttershy hit a couple of switches and the mine cart soon stopped at a sign that read : * Danger! The yellow mine cart line is scary! Don't ride unless you like being scared!! *
" What has she been doing? Taking mischief lessons from Discord? " Spike asked but got no reply
"Yes; This was a trap and I saw that the girls seem to fall for my lure trick all too easy for it to be anything else so I pretended to fall for it and I used a knife to cut the net and made my escape in time to stop you. I even pretend to talk to myself just in case you told them to signal you only if they felt I fell for your trap. " Fluttershy said with a smile.
" And now you plan on sending us down the yellow which will take a longer time to reach Canterlot because you are still willing to play around with us a bit longer. " Rainbow Dash said almost impressed
" Yes; And the waterfall that you will have to go though will wash away the mixture I had Zacora make and by the time you get towards the end you should be able to move again and if you hurry you might make in time to stop me from making my most important delivery. "Fluttershy said with small smile.
" You wouldn't dare send us down the yellow line. You're too nice to send us down that ride. " Rainbow Dash said as Fluttershy picked up the box and set it on the ground again and then she moved closer to the mine cart and put her hoof on the mine cart.
" I'll say it again.. You.. Wouldn't.. Dare!!..." Rainbow Dash said but then to her surprise Fluttershy pushed the cart and the cart began to
move again.
" Bye; I'll see you soon.. Oh dear I can't believe I did that! " She said as she stopped waving to the already disappearing mine cart.. " Time to get back to work now. " She said to herself as she took some wet wipes to make sure there was nothing on the box even though it looked like she did her job of avoiding to hit the box but then again it was easy to spot the box among them.
......... In the mine cart.....
" GUESS WHAT RAINBOW DASH?! SHE DID DARE!! " Twilight yelled as they headed for a rather scary looking dip in the tracks.
" No KKIIINNNNDDDIIINNGG!! " Rainbow Dash; " WEEH! " Yelled Pinkie Pie.. " AAIIIEEE!!!" The others yelled as the started what would be a very scary ride for them..
Sometime later the ride stopped near the end after Rainbow Dash hit the breaks as most of the ponies looked glad it was over.
" That's it! She's paying for all five spa treatments! " Rarity said as soon as they were out of the mine cart.
" That was AWESOME!! " Rainbow Dash said before any of the others could complain about the ride.
" Are you nuts Rainbow Dash!?!! " Twilight Yelled looking quite ready to explode over the comment.
" Ah gotta agree with Twilight; That was one scary nutty ride!! " Apple Dash said as she looked at Rainbow Dash as if she had lost her mind.
" I'm not talking about the ride because I did that one before for the fun of it! I'm talking about Fluttershy!!! Did you see her? She was so radical! First the flying then calling me out on my bluff and sending us for that ride and the flying and the flying and the flying!!??!! There's hope for her yet!!! " Rainbow Dash said with her best I'm pumped now look.
" Ah! I just remembered! We still got time to catch up with her! " Rainbow Dash said as she started to fly away.
" NOT SO FAST! I admit this was an awful experience but if you think you are doing this all alone after all of this; You got another think coming! " Twilight said with a snort.
" She's right!! We suffered enough and deserve a chance to get that candy as much as you! " Rarity said ready to catch Rainbow Dash with her magic if need be.
The others quickly agreed with her.
" Ok, Ok; Just don't blame me if we lose now because she is sure to be ahead of us now since we went the long way while she took the shortest route. " Rainbow Dash said as she landed and began to run and the others were quick to follow her lead.
At first Twilight wasn't even sure where she was going even though the sun was now out; In fact judging by the sun it was almost noon!! " They were underground in all that time? It didn't even feel that long now!! " She thought but she soon realized she was heading for Princess Celestia's castle.
But when they got there Fluttershy was already hoofing the box to Celestia. " So that's where I saw the box! It's one of Princess Celestia's private candy boxes! " How could she have forgotten it?
" Yes... And now it's over and once again I lose the bet. " Rainbow Dash said in defeat as she layed down on the floor looking quite sad.
" Bet? BET!? YOU MEAN THIS WAS OVER SOME STUPID BET!? " Twilight exploded into her fire self but soon gave up her anger.. Well most of it!!.
" You were messing with Princess Celetia's private golden raindrops candy box this whole time??! How could you Rainbow Dash? " Twilight demanded to know.
" Calm down Twilight.. They have my permisson; I know this rather... Umm.. Odd custom.. They have tried to take my box more than once after all or should I say mine and Luna's since she we do share the candy... In any case it's quite fun to watch them try.. Most impressive flying Fluttershy there is hope for you yet. " She said quite close to Fluttershy's ear causing her to blush twice the amount she normally would.
" That's what I said and it's true! " Rainbow Dash said with a proud of her friend grin.
Twilight sighed as she calmed down..." Ok I'm calm down now but what's this about Fluttershy being your personal golden candy maker and how in the heck did all of this nonsense start??" She asked
" As to Fluttershy being my personal golden raindrop candy maker it was about only two years before you moved there; That was why I was sure you'd make friends there because I met all your friends before you did when I visited there.; But I was a bit surprised they turned out to represent the elements of harmony." Celestia said as Twilight's friends told her it was true they met Princess Celestia before but she had never asked if they did.
Twilight looked a bit tired and wasn't sure how much of what Celestia was saying to be true but she decided it didn't matter anymore.
" Oh I see.. Well it's not like I was looking for friends back then but what's this about a bet? " Twilight asked as she felt she earned the right to know that one.
" Oh that; Well I caught Fluttershy one day in her house counting the candy and after I tried to take some candy without asking for it and after Fluttershy stopped me I found myself making a bet I could take the candy without asking for it and it snowballed quickly from there and the next thing anypony knew most of Ponyville was trying to get the whole box. " Rainbow Dash said as she stood back up.
' Yes and after we set a few rules it became a spring tradition for Ponyville and it really let us burn off all the pent up energy from taking it easy during winter ". Rarity said as she used her magic to fix her mane a bit.
" I'm surprised you didn't make it harder for me Twilight because that was kind-of the reason I was trying harder because I know how smart you are. " Fluttershy said kindly.
" You can blame Rainbow Dash for that one seeing how she didn't tell me a thing!! " Twilight said huffy as she looked at Rainbow Dash who somehow whistled while looking the other way.
" Well; it's over now; Are you going to ask nicely for your consolation prize Rainbow Dash? " Fluttershy asked with a smile.
" Yeah, yeah; may have my consolation prize? " Rainbow Dash asked in a not too repentant way.
Me too please! Rarity said
"And me too please! "Apple Jack.
Us too please! The cutiemark crusaders asked together.
" Me four please! " Pinkie Pie said as she happily hopped up and down quite rapidly.
Knowing that was the best she was going to get out of them Fluttershy pulled out some little bags out of her saddle backpack and hoofed them over to them and to Twilight's and Spike's surprise she gave them one too.
" But we didn't ask. " Twilight said as she looked at how cute the bag was.. It had to be made by Fluttershy. She almost forgot that Fluttershy was almost as good at sewing as Rarity.
" I know but seeing how Rainbow Dash tricked you I'll let it slide this one time but next time you will have to ask. " Fluttershy said flatly.
Spike opened his bag as soon as he got it; " It's full of golden raindrops! " He said as he put all of them into his mouth.. Oh yeah; That's very, very good candy." He said with a smile as the others laughed.
" I'll save mine for later but this is the last time I'll be doing this; There's no way I'm getting involved with this crazy game again. " Twilight said as she used the string that the bag came with to tie it around her neck with her magic.
" Oh that's good because I wouldn't want you to get all depressed or take it too personal about losing. " Fluttershy said calmly.
" WHAT? Are you saying you can beat me at this game as smart as I am? " Twilight snorted in a miffed voice.
" Umm.. Yes; I'm pretty smart myself. " Fluttershy said without so much a bit of her normal squeak in her voice when confronted with a challenge because she really enjoyed letting loose and forgetting her shyness even if it was only once a year and it was helping her to be braver every time she played along with the game.
" O ho! So that's how you want it! It's game on next year then and you're sooo going down! " Twilight said with a snort not quite ready to tell Fluttershy how proud of her that she was willing to face anypony in this crazy game.
" Hear that Fluttershy? Next year we will have Twilight's smarts in the next game for sure! We can't lose!! " Rainbow Dash said as she grabbed Twilight and made some kind of pony victory pose.
" Next time I agree to a crazy bet; Somepony stop me! " Twilight said with a sigh as the others began to laugh and Twilight soon joined them in the laugh
Much later that night in Ponyville..
And so I found myself agreeing to be in the next game and while I'm not really sure if Fluttershy really can give me a run for my bits or even outsmart me I'll find out for sure next year and who know if she does beat me I may challenge her again and I will have to see what kind of chess player she is soon so I can see what I'm up against. She wrote in the book.
She looked at Spike who was already asleep in one of his beds." I guess it has been a crazy tiring day but it was kind-of crazy fun for the sake of crazy fun."
She pulled out a golden raindrop and put it into her mouth.. "Oh this really is very, very good candy". She said with a smile and turned out the main library light for the night and went to her room to read a book or two before getting ready for bed and after she left the room a piece of the candy somehow rolled out of the bag a bit and it gleamed with golden twinkle as soon as it stopped moving..
