Heat Signature

Celestia looked to her right. She saw her sister Luna, dressed in black armor and looking very brave. Probably braver than she felt. She looked ahead and saw a chilling sight. The crystal empire's entire population armed to the teeth with spears and swords wearing diamond armor. Leading them was king Sombra and princess cadence with her husband prince shining Armour. Cadence and shining had been corrupted by Sombra's magic.Celestia shuddered at the thought that their greatest allies had been turned so easily. She looked back at the army behind her. The royal canterlot army looked as it had never looked before, before it had been the capitals most reliable source of protection, a force  to be reckoned with now it looked, well...weak. Their armor was in pieces and the ponies were tired. This could most possibly be their last battle. Celestia looked back at her sister. "Luna?"

" Yes." said Luna looking back at her with wide scared eyes.

" I just wanted you to know that i love you no matter what happens, these may be the last words i say to you and i want you to be strong.  We probably wont survive today. I think we need to preform 'The Eternity Enchantment'."

" But sister we need our strength for the battle at hand!"

" Yes but i don't want 'them' to grow in a world of unfamiliar ponies, they will need friends to guide them."

" Yes you are right of course." Luna stepped closer to her sister and charged up her horn. So did Celestia.

" CHARGE!!!!!!!" shouted the solar princess at the same time as king Sombra. As both armies charged the royal sister flew into the air and touched their horns. A pillar of sparkling green light shot into the sky. The nature of the eternity enchantment was that everypony that was currently alive would stay alive forever unless murdered by another pony. Nopony could age beyond 25 years old.If you were beyond that age and under 50 then you would be reverted to 25 yrs of age. If you were older than 50 you would be reverted to 50 years old. As the princesses completed the spell they collapsed to the ground the felt the last of their energy ebbing away. Unicorns need a certain amount of magic coursing through their body's to live. Even if they have to preform a difficult spell they still have a magic reserve so they don't just keel over. But the princesses had used all of their magic, including their reserves. as they lay dying two dark figures made their way across the battle field. King Sombra and princess cadence loomed over the two mares. " You foals,"said king Sombra "you have wasted your forces on this pointless battle."

"Now nothing can stop us from taking over equestria." Cadence said laughing manically. "should we finish them master?"

  " Yes lieutenant Cadenza."  the king confirmed. A black crystal sword appeared at the sides of the two ponies, and with a swift motion a sword was imbedded in the side of each sister. They were dead. It was over. As the last of the solar guard were killed the two evil royals thought they had won. But little did they know that far away two teenage alicorns were waking up from an enchanted sleep. Princess Firespark sat up and yawned. "What, where am i?" she looked around the cave and saw her sister princess crescent drooling on the cave floor. "Psst, crescent, wake up." Crescent sat up and rubbed her eyes with her hooves.

"Where are we." asked Crescent.

" In a cave."Firespark said bluntly. "why don't we go find mom."

"Sure." said crescent smiling at her older sister. Firespark thought about her parents as she and her sister flew across a valley. her mom princess Celestia was of course the ruler of equestria, she was at war with the crystal empire. Little was known about her father, his name was Lifeblood spear. He was the captain of the royal guard when nightmare moon was around. Before he died at the hands of a bat pony soldier he had had two daughters with Celestia, princess Firespark and princess Crescent. The two were about 1,020 years old give or take. But mentally and physically Firespark was about 17 and crescent was about 14. As they reached the battle ground they landed, they trotted through the dead bodies and Firespark saw a white figure laying on the ground. As she ran up to it she saw the sword imbedded in its side

"No, no no no this cant be happening, NO mom!" screamed Firespark as she shook her mothers body. Crescent was doing the same to their aunts body. Firespark stood, her mane of fire growing brighter and bigger. "Whoever did this to you i swear, they will pay!"

Firespark's armor materialized on her body and a sword appeared at her side. She looked at the horizon and saw an army charging at them. "Be ready sister, a great battle approaches." as the army reached them she began to sing.

Anypony that dared face Firespark was killed. Those who ran were smart. As she reached the middle she saw king Sombra.She walked up to him. "You killed my mother, admit it."

"With pride." he said with a nasty grin. Firespark simply raised her sword and cut his head clean off before he could register that he was being attacked. His body thudded to the ground, blood spurting out of the wound and wetting the grass. Cadence ran up to her, her coat turning its regular pink.

"What happened?" cadence said a look of complete and utter confusion crossing her face. "Wait, Firespark is that you?" "Where is your mother?"

"Dead." she said a tear rolling down her muzzle. "Sombra killed her and Luna."

"Well i guess that means that you and your sister are the rulers of equestria now."

"Yes and i will try to fill those enormous horseshoes she left, and i will try to be a noble leader." said Firespark, her face an unreadable mask as she excepted her new role as princess of the sun and ruler of equestria.
