Chapters Prologue
I sat there staring in disbelief at what was going on. The once strong cyan pony was now laying before me hurt. "Rainbow" I said " your...your hurt" it took all my strength to say those words. She then looked up at me with sad pleading eyes and said "starry...you must promise me you will fight on, this war needs to stop...you have what it takes now go" . I couldn't be leave what I was hearing, with tears in my eyes and pain in my heart I said " I promise".
Chapter 1
"Starry..starry where are you?"
"I'm right here"
I turned to look at who was calling me And it was my good friend dark. Dark was a shy colt, we knew each other sense we were just little fillys. He was a tall dark blue colt who never really talked to pints except me and anglen our qureky friend.
"What is it dark?" I said knowing quite well what it was. "Starry pinkie pie and anglen are toughing you a birthday party, so when you get of cloud duty come to sugercube corner". I find it funny really to have cloud duty on today of all days, not like I do much anyway. "Dark you know I don't like party's" at the saying of this the big earth pony looked up at me with pleading eyes. "But starry anglen and pinkie worked hard to through this for you, please come its your birth day". I always hated when he did that face, he knows I can never resist it. "Fine I will come". At this the colt gave a little cry of joy and ran off. " see you later today then".
That colt always knows how to get to me I said under my breath. Soon I went back to cloud duty, today there seems to be an execs of clouds. "Why is there so many dam clouds today any way" I said out loud.
"O that's because the cloud machine in cloudsdale is on the fritz"
Hearing this I jumped out of my skin not knowing who said this. "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you, hi I'm rainbow dash, I'm hear to take over your shift." I looked down at who was saying this and it was a beautiful cyan pony. I started to blush as I said " you shouldn't sneak up on ponys like that". She then looked at me with confused eyes and said "I told you I was sorry, well any way I'm here to take over your shift"
"You are, but I thought my shift didn't end tell two hours form now"
"It doesn't but I found out its you birthday from my friend pinkie so I thought I would take over your shift"
"Thank you" I said, as i started to blush more "that's very kind, my name is starry lightning"
"We'll it's nice to meet you starry maybe we can meet up sometime"
"Yes maybe" I said not knowing how soon it would be before I saw her next.
After that nice little encounter I started to fly home. It was a nice day out even with the clouds. Now I essentially the richest pony here in town, so the only house I could afford
was a small little cottage next to the everfree forest. I didn't have many ponys living around hear just a shy yellow pony. We really never got to know each other well tho.
As I entered my house I turned on my lights to something of a surprise.
"Surprise!" Just about a hundred ponys said.
"Wha...what" I said in awe, I couldn't be leave what I was seeing. How can this many ponys fit into my house.
"Hi there, pinkie pie I couldn't Waite to through this party for you so I thought I would move it hear, also come to the back yard the party's out there" and after that the pink pony shoved a cupcake into my mouth.
When I went outside I was shocked at what I was seeing. My once dark and grime backyard was now full of decorations. Streamers hung from the trees and they was dozens of tables. I looked to my left to see the biggest cake I ever saw, it was five tiers of what I think was chocolate.
After a bit of wondering around I found my best friend dark.
"Dark, how did this all happen?"
"It was all anglen and pinkie"
"Remind me to thank her"
"Don't worry I won't"
But durning our little conversation some pony bumped into my back side scarring my to no end.
"Sorry about that starry, I don't mean to keep scaring you" the pony said. I turned to see who it was and to my surprise it was the mare form earlier today.
"You" I said with a little to much excitement in my voice. "I thought you where clearing the clouds."
"I was but I finished, come on don't you know who I am I'm the fastest pony here". I noticed that she was blushing a little.
"So um you came to my birthday party."
"We'll yes, everyone in ponyville came"
As I looked at this mare I think I started to blush, was I falling for her. No, I barely know this mare. But then like she was reading my mind she asked
"hay starry would you like to dance"
Now this completely caught me of guard, so then with a blush I stuttered out
" ye..yes I would"
She then grabbed my hoof and took me to the dance floor. At first it was nice but then a slow paced dance came on and I sat there staring at rainbow dash with confused eyes. What she did next put me in such a daze. She grabbed my hoof and wrapped it around her pulling me into a small embrace.
Now the rest of the night went by in such a blur, there was more dancing and food and many more things. Before I knew it the night came to an end. I sat there in my house talking to my remaining guests. Who just happened to be rainbow dash, dark and anglen.
"Did you have fun tonight" anglen said in a huff.
"Yes anglen it was the best party yet"
"I bet it was"
I was startling to think something was wrong with her when she said
"We'll I got to head home see you later starry". And with that she left befor I could ask.
"I think I will head home to starry" dark said. And with that I was left alone with rainbow dash.
"Starry" rainbow said "I had a fun time tonight, Maybe we can hook up some time"
I couldn't bel wave what I was hearing, was she asking me out on a date.
"Yes of corse"
And with those three words she got up and said
"I got to head home see you soon"
She the bent down and gave me a small kiss, the left. After that I went to bed, I was astonished at what just happened. I laid my head down to rest, and with a happy sigh I said
"This was the best day ever"
Little did I know of what was to come.
Chapter 2
I awoke the next morning with a banging headache.
"Man what a party that was"
I then did the usual thing I did every morning, ate oats and watch some tv. When I went out side what I saw put me in shock. The sky was a deep grey and clouds spread on for what seemed like forever. The wind was blowing so fast it could lift you off the ground with one good gust. As I sat there in awe a familiar voice called out to me.
"Starry I need you help! The cloud machine at cloudsdale has been sabatoched."
I looked up to see rainbow dash yelling at me, so with no argument I took of into the sky.
"What do you need me to do"
"Clear as many clouds as you can"
With that I went to clearing the sky's. I don't think I ever did this so fast but then I heard it, a deafening crack then a shearing pain shot through my whole body. The last thing I heard before I blacked out was rainbow yelling out my name then it went black.
The next thing I know is I'm in a white room that seems endless. After wondering for what seems like hours I heard a voice. I couldn't put my hoof on who it was but it sounded so much like "mom! Is that you?" I didn't know what I was saying, my mom has been dead for years but dose that mean I'm dead? Right then a figure appeared right in front of me.
"Mom is that you" I said, I couldn't be leave my eyes.
"Starry my son, you must know something"
"Mom!" I started to cry. I've been so sad ween she died that day and now she's here. I couldn't hold it in any more I started to cry.
"Mom.. I've missed you so much, why! Why did you leave that day, YOU COULD HAVE LIVED!" I was crying so hard that I lost my breath. I couldn't be leave what was in front of my eyes.
"Starry you must listen to me! The land you now live in is on the verge of destruction, you must find a way to stop it, now our time has come to an end. Starry I love you with all my heart. Remember my warning"
"Mom don't go" I was pleading for her to say, I couldn't stand this pain. I thought I was over her death but I was wrong.
"Mon what do you mean by warning! I don't understand!"
But just then a shock through my chest woke me up from whatever nightmare I was having. I tried to sit up but a searing pain rocked my whole bode and I cried out in pain.
"Starry! Your...your alive"
I tried to turn to see who was calling out to me and I saw rainbow dash. By the looks of her face she was crying. Then I realized I was crying to. I looked around to see I was in a hospital room with Monitors all around me.
"Rainbow what happened, why am I here?" I was so confused, the last thing I remember was that I was clearing the sky's, then there was that dream.
"Starry I'm so sorry" she was trying to hold back sobs. "You where struck by lightning, the doctors say its lucky you lived"
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Was I really struck by lightning. I tried to get up but a shearing pain shot up my leg. Forcing me to sit back down.
"Starry, You need to lay down."
"Rainbow is dark here?" I really needed to see his face. Dark is a friend who would always be there for me, and right now I could use his help.
"He is out side along with anglen"
"Please send them in"
"Of corse starry"
My mind was in a blank at this point. How did this all happen and the dream I had, it was so realistic. But then my two best friends walked into the room. Anglen was a mess, her purple coat was in a mess of tangles and her eyes were red from recent crying. I couldn't say dark was any better. His coat was worse then Anglens, he had mud all over him, he most Likely just left work and ran here.
"Starry.. Your...your alive" anglen started to say but then tears started to take over and all she could muster up was sobs.
"Starry it's good to see your ok now" dark said, it must have took all of his strength not to cry, it's just like him to do so but I know how he feels.
"Yes guys I'm fine now just a little banged up" I gave a fake smile but knowing dark he most likely sees right through it.
Anglen then started to talk " starry what where you doing up there anyway, today was your day off"
Why was I up there, but before I could respond rainbow jumped in.
"It's because of me. I asked him for help with the clouds"
"You!" Anglen started to get mad. But before any thing got out of hand dark took her out side.
"She hates me now, doesn't she" rainbow started to cry, taking in deep breaths and sobbing.
"No she doesn't, she's just upset" I was trying to calm her down, but everything backfired on me. Then I did something I will never regret. I took her hoof and brought her closer to me. She just sat there staring at me with the saddest eyes.
"Rainbow I need to tell you something I know now my not be the best time tho"
"Yes" she was starting to calm down now.
"I know we just meet but, how do I say this...I think I'm falling for you"
She then looked at me with eyes full of joy and sadness. What was I thinking. How could she even fall for me we just meet. How stupid was I.
"Starry I need to tell you something.... Ever sense you came to ponyville I've had a crush on you. The day if the party was a perfect day to get to know you but I never thought you would feel the same"
Her sobs stopped but I then grabbed her face. I lost all of my control. She came into my embrace and we kissed. It was the most heart warming kiss I ever had. It was the type of kiss that could lift you off the ground and take flight. During this kiss I forgot every thing around me. When we finally parted I was left gasping for breath.
We spent the rest of the day together, after a while dark and anglen left me and rainbow alone and so we kissed again. When she left it was like I was losing a peace of myself.
Two weeks later I was let out of the hospital. Durning that time me and rainbow got very close. We sat for hours talking, but today when she greatest me she had the saddest face I ever seen.
"Rainbow what's wrong" I said with deep concern.
"Starry I have to go"
"Why"
"You know all the weird things that's been going on"
"Yes" at this point I saw that all her friends was with her.
"They weren't accidents, it was the changelings, there back and attacking equrestia. I have to go, me and the girls are going to end this once and for all"
"But.. But you can't go what if you get hurt" I started to hyperventilate.
"Don't worry sugercube" applejack said "we'll be back before you know it "
I started to cry, how could she leave. But then the dream I had weeks ago came rushing back. The warning was for this.
"NO! You can't go" I lunged at her trying to make her stay but at that moment a purple force field engulfed me stoping me in my tracks. Before I knew it I was asleep. The war has started and I can do nothing but watch now.
Chapter 3
It's been a week sense I last saw rainbow dash. Everyday I here news about the war, it seems like we're losing, every day the changelings push further into equrestia. But that is nothing compared to what is about to happen.
"Starry are you ok, you seem out of it today"
The fact was I have been out of it for a while now. I'm surprised dark is just now asking.
"I'm fine dark, it's just I'm worried"
"Starry...she's fine don't worry"
"I hope so" I needed to Chang the subject and fast.
"When is anglen getting here"
I needed a distraction and fast.
" I'm over here"
I turned to see the happy smiling face of anglen. I don't see how any pony can smile at a time like this. The war Is raging on killing hundreds of ponys already.
"Starry. Are you all right?"
I looked at anglen with sadness in my eyes. Everyone knew I wasn't ok but I would never admit it. Anglen looked at me and sighed.
"Starry I don't get what you see in her"
The conversation would have kept going but at that moment I saw something over the horizon. Dark and anglen kept talking on but I was now to focused on this object. Then it hit me, I saw a flash of cyan and rainbow main.
"Rainbow!"
I jumped out of my char like my life depended on it. I couldn't believe it, she was finally home. At this pint dark and anglen realized what was happening and stared in awe. They saw it before me. By the time I saw it I was in shock. Rainbow was coved in blood an had a huge gaping gash in her side. I ran to her side.

I sat their crying the mare looked up at me with a blank stare. She then stopped breathing.
"This...this can't happen" I sat there for hours crying. Then dark came over to me" starry?" He said this in a way that made me turn to him. I knew then what I had to do.
"Dark this may be the last time you will see me"
"What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to end this war"
"How"
"By killing there leader"
"Starry.. How are you going to do this. It's almost impossible"
"What would you rather have me do! Just let them get away with this!"
"You'll die. Just think for a second."
"I'm done thinking dark, it's time to act"
"You are the biggest idiot I now starry, I coming with you"
I then looked over at anglen, she looked back at me with despair in her eyes and said "starry I coming to"
And that was it, my last stand and with the help of my friends I will end this war or die trying.
