Equestria and the nations of the world are having strange dreams. Luna, as the keeper of the dreamscape, is struggling to find the cause, and enlists the help of Celestia, Twilight, and Cadence in uncovering the truth.

She believes it to be buried in the past, and so uses the dreamscape as a way of showing Twilight and Cadence ancient Equestrian history, through the perspectives of Luna and Celestia respectively.

Eventually, it becomes clear that the strange events are not a coincidence; someone is behind these visions, with rising suspicions from foreign powers pointing towards Luna and Celestia.

Journey back to a time before the founding of Equestria, to a not-so-legendary civilization that housed the most powerful creatures of modern Equestria, and the sacrifices made under the banner of love that shaped the very fiber of Equestria's two rulers, Luna and Celestia.
