Ponyville was not the same as they knew it, for the mares of this universe were now stallions and the stallions were now mares! The experimental spell-casting Twilight last attempted actually worked! And the six mares stood standing shocked at the change in their scenery. Each privately contemplating what the masculine version of themselves would be like… some with excitement, some with reservation, some with curiosity. What would become of the six friends? When and how would they ever get home again? If they did not get home again, would they be okay with that and able to move on?

After a blazing flash of blinding yellow light, the main six ponies found themselves in a Ponyville vastly different from the one they called home. This unfamiliar Ponyville had an immediately obvious difference: those ponies that they knew that had been mares in their universe, were now clearly stallions! And those that they had known to be stallions back home, were now quite evidently, mares!

"What in tarnation? What the hay is all this about? Twilight?" Applejack asked, turning towards the purple unicorn. The concern and shock expressed plainly upon her features.

"What's with this inconvenience, huh, Twilight?" Rarity said with a gentle toss of her spiraled purple mane. "What ever shall we do? This is an absolute disaster! What would me, as a stallion, be like? What have you done with us, this time?!" Rarity said with her customary dramatic flair, shifting from pleasantly concerned and then a dramatic freak-out, back to being pleasantly curious, to being angered at their situation, glaring at Twilight with her "It. Is. On." Face.

"I... I don't know what just happened, girls... I... I didn't think the spell would work! Or that it was even possible! I think we are in a different Universe, an alternate, if you will. Only it seems here we find that mares were born stallions and stallions were born mares. When we compare it to our Universe." Twilight said with enthusiasm.

"But you WILL get us out of here, right, Twilight?" Rarity put on her best pleading-pouty face, glancing at Twilight Sparkle.

"That's just it, I... I don't know, girls... I'll do my best."

"What?!" Both Rarity and Rainbow Dash said in shock.

"You MUST!" Rarity said sounding desperate. "Otherwise our lives are ruined..." Rarity wined a bit, miserably.

"Oh, my... I wonder how Angel will get by without me? Or the other woodland critters I look out for..." Fluttershy quietly said, deeply concerned about her little animal friends.

"Oh, ahm sure they'll be fine, sugarcube..." Applejack spoke up, patting her friend on a wing, trying to encourage Fluttershy not to worry. "Ah wonder how mah family will get by without me though, since we have a bumper crop o' apples this year!"

"Oh yeah! I bet my male-version is totally awesome! How can he not be? It's me we're talking about here!?" Rainbow Dash said.

"Oh wow! This is totally crazy! I cannot believe it! What would a male me be like? I wonder if he's as cute and bubbly and fun and silly as I am? What does he like to eat? Is he good at making cupcakes? Does he like hot sauce on his cupcakes? Does he like stand-up comedy? Or what? I can't wait to find out! I'm going to Sugarcube Corner right now to find out!"

"Now, hold on jest a sec, Missy!" Applejack said, through gritted teeth, holding onto Pinkie's tail to prevent her from bounding off without a plan. "Y'all are forget-in' something here... we need ta have a plan! Before we all go wanderin' off and gettin' all lost up in the goings-on of this here Universe."

"Appplejack's right! We need a plan! How about we meet up again at Golden Oak Library in, say, three hours! Okay?"

"Okay!" They all agreed, before going on their way to explore this strange circumstance they've found themselves in.
