It was a two pony job yet it was hard to hold the flint. Finally a spark and the once dead wood was now a small fire. They all gathered around one was a filly who had yellow fur with both a red mane and a tail.The other was also yellow but she was a pegasus with a pink mane and tail. The last one was yet another pegasus with a rainbow mane and tale and she had a bright colored blue fur, but the pony swore he saw yet another pony in one of the tents but was unsure. The pony was thinking to himself, thinking what approach he should take. Should he wait after dark and not risk a fight but risk death of bleed out, or should he go in sword in his mouth. "Hey"said a pony from the campfire and thus the mysterious pony was given an answer. "Come out slowly" and the pony listened He was a unicorn who had jet black fur with a red mane and tail but had some of his mane hair had white strips and his tail had small black streaks. He had a kelvar vest underneath a black shirt and the rest of what he was wearing was a multitude of leaves banded together by some what of some fishing line. He actually looked like a walking tree. He had a backpack hidden the leaves and a sword around his waist. The one who called him was the one with the wild rainbow hair while her friends dashed for the nearest tent. The rainbow haired pony had a gun aiming down him which caught the pony off guard. While it was an old model guns were rare since they stopped manufacturing them since the race wars. 'Who are you?" Said the rainbow haired pony. "I'm just some pony looking for some medical supplies" he nodded at the patch of bandages where blood had ran through it. After saying that the pink mane pony had poked her head out. "I-Is it a ......" then everyone went silent. "Its a gunshot wound" said the red mane pony. The pink pony had then walked up with a pony that the black pony hasn't seen. She was a white fur made with blue mane and tail which was curled by some in proper tools. The yellow fur pony had whispered into the blue fur pony then she put her weapon away "I'm sorry in these days and age" said the blue fur pony "Its okay I understand why, trust me" said the black fur pony. "Please sit down and i'll tend to your wound" said the pink maned pony Like a child the red mane pony sat on a stump while the pink mane pony unrapped his bandages revealing as told a gunshot wound. "Hey I'm still sorry my names rainbow dash" said the rainbow mane pony. "Names Vex" said the black fur pony, and as soon as he said that the filly poked her head out. "This is Fluttershy" Rainbow pointed to the yellow  fur pony treating his wound who had now gotten a pistol bullet out of his wound. "I'm Rarity and this is Applebloom" said the white fur made then she pointed to the filly saying that she's Applebloom. "Howdy" said Applebloom Vex waved his hoof at her motioning hello "So" started vex "May I ask why you mares are all out here by yourself." "About ready to ask you the same thing" said Rainbow. After she said that Fluttershy had just dressed his wound. "I was running from a horde of those" "Oh, sorry to hear that." "And you." "Me?" Said Rainbow " Its a bit of a long story but let's just say that we're looking for some friends in Ponyville." "There, the last time I was there I nearly escaped by myself." "I know just its an important friend who lives at one of the farms." "Never heard or saw any one up there when I was there" "Well this some private info. If you want you can stay the night." "I'm good , what I'm looking for is a decent home." "We can take you to ours." "What!?" Said Rarity "But" said Rainbow " We need to get to Sweet Apple Acres" "Really?" Said Vex "alright then I guess" "Great" "Come this way" said Fluttershy motioning Vex to follow which they went to a tent were Fluttershy entered then came back out with another tent. She then set it up were Vex had squeezed in through the small door. "You sure this is a good idea" said Rarity "Of course" said Rainbow "He needs a home and we need a good flighter what can go wrong." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter2: The Farm Life //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter2: The Farm Life THE DARKNESS SUROUNDS HER AND THE VOID OPENS AND IN COMES THE GREAT DEATH OF ALL WITH A MESSAGE IN HIS LIPS "TAKE THE LAST BREATH OF THE POSION THAAT KILLS ALL" Applejack had woke up with a headake and was glad it was only a nightmare. She got out of bed and put on her cowboy hat. She has light brown fur with a blond mane and tail bothe with some rope at the ends of them. She was wearing a flannel shirt with some jeans. She then looked over to wear Frank was looking outside with his sniper aimed. He had light brown fur as well with a darker brown mane and tail. He was wearing a shirt almost the same color as his fur but on it was a security badge pinned on it. Applejack never knew why he wearer it but he always did. He then looked to her with his brown eyes and nodded hello. Applejack then noticed that his eyes were bloodshot. "What happened to your eyes" asked Applejack "Didn't sleep" he replied "Why in tarnation didn't you" "Cause of this" he motioned Applejack to come over. She looked through the scope see a nightmare. A group of runners was eating away at a cow. What's worse is that the last time she saw it was starting to rot. "Shit" said Applejack " what I need you to do is get Big Mac up here cause you need some rest and he needs to see this." "Eeyup" replied Frank who was trying to sound like Big Mac. Frank went down the steps into the living room. The room didn't have any furniture besides the couch were Big Mac was sleeping. Everything else was either used as firewood or was used as a baracade which hardly do little to nothing  in defense. Frank knew if the runner were to attack there only option was flight or death. Frank then went to Big Mac. He was a huge stallion with red fur and a blonde mane and tail. He was wearing almost the same things as Applejack minus the cowcoy hat. "Hey" started Frank. " get your fat ass up." then Big Mac raised grozilly up and looked at Frank with a drained look." Don't just look at me Applejack needs you its important . "Eeyup" replied Big Mac then he yawned got off the couch and headed upstairs. "Jesus mate deep sleeps like that could get you killed out here" said Frank. He then stretched out and got the side of the couch where a homemade lether bag was sitting at. He pulled out to the and looked inside. It was used to keep some food safe and for something to get quickly if something were to happen. Inside was bags of salted chips and crackers. Frank pulled out a bag of crackers and started nibbling on them. His basic life style was eat little sleep even less an protect himself and those he loves. It was quite besides the whispers upstairs. "Fuck" Frank said to himself " if I can hear you then who knows how those things haven't heard us." Before he could finish the first cracker an explosion had rang into his hears. DAMN he thought and dashed up the stairs and into Applejacks bedroom. "What were you thinking pulling that trigger!"  He yelled. "It wasn't us" replied Applejack "Nope" replied Big Mac Then everyone in the room had the same thought. The shot came from outside. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Finding Friends //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Finding Friends As the day begun the sound of birds cherp filled the air. To most it was beauty, but for Vex it was an alarm clock. He raised up and hit his head on the top of the tent. Oh right he forgot were he was. He yawned which cleared out his ears. He could hear voices. It was hard to tell by the fact he was still half asleep so he leaned his ear next to the tent. "I don't care whos in charge" said a voice. Vex has fully awaken it was Rarity. "We need more survivors so what part of that did you not get." Said the second voice who's sounded like Rainbow Dash's. "You actually think that trust worthy people just grow on trees remember what happened to Carrot Top." said Rarity "Yes" said Rainbow Dash. "I did remember I dug the hole and put the knife through her skull. "I j-j-just." Rarity sighed " I trust your judgement I just don't want to repeat that, especially if the person were digging a hole is one of us or Futtershy. Do you understand." "Yeah." "Alright i'll find some firewood." Then after that the noise of someone trotting off could be heard. Then a someone sigh. Vex decided to wait for a little bit not wanting to know that he was listening in. It felt like about fifteen minutes later then vex moved out of the tent. Dash was at a campfire that just looked like it recently went out. She was sitting there having a stick in her mouth poking at it. "Its not nice to listen to things your not suppose to." A whisper said. It made Vex nearly yelp but Dash still heard him. "Oh, your awake." Rainbow said as she wiped her eyes with her hoove." We will be gearing up and moving out soon so get what you can OK Vex." "Yeah" said Vex "yeah alright." He then turned to were the whisper was heard to only see Fluttershy with her lips pucked in." You scared me." replied Vex "Sorry." replied Fluttershy " I didn't mean to." Vex put his hoof on her shoulder and guided her backwards behind a tent. "How did you know I was listening." said Vex. "I poked my head out of my tent and saw your shadow moving around." said Fluttershy. "Okay just don't scare me like that ok." "Okay again I'm sorry." "Your fine just be careful at what you do out here okay." "Okay" then Fluttershy walked off. Vex then went back into his tent and opened his duffle bag. He then got out a glass bottle of water that had a cork in it. Vex popped off the cork then drank a little. He then push the cork back into a bottle. It was then an hour or so and they all got there stuff together. They was heading south were eventually an image of a small town was in view. Before he could ask what town it was Fluttershy went next to him. "That use to be my home."said Fluttershy "Really?" replied Vex "Yeah it was called Ponyville." Vex heard about it but not good things. "I heard of it."started Vex." It was a small town." "Oh' yes it was." replied Fluttershy. "Ain't it a ghost town now." "Yeah which is good cause there hardly any of those things. They usually go to the more popular cities." Wow, if that's the case then he's glad he didn't live at Manehattan. They past through several buildings. Some were standard and others were outragus. There was even one that looked like a gingerbread house which Fluttershy explained that it was one of her best friend's house. They then started making there way into the country side of town. It was a ten minute trip but they reached there destination. What stood before them was a barn that had a sign that read Sweet Apple Acre. The paint on the sign though was now peeling off. About a few acres away was a house that looked like it could hold just a regular family and next to it is a barn that was red but once again the paint was peeling off. "Finally" said Rainbow." Vex rember how I said we were looking for friends." "Yeah"replied Vex. "This is it" said Dash" This is were we can live out our days." Rainbow then turned around and gasped. In the window was the shadow of a mare that looked like a cowboy hat. "Its her she's alive."Rainbow then sprinted across the field when one of those things had popped out of the ground. There called sleepers. This one was pale yet dirty from hiding in the dirt. Its head was the worse cause it was the only wound. Its upper lip had been ripped off which showed a row of filed down teeth from eating meat. Dash had screamed and drew her gun. Rarity had tried to yell no, but it was to late. The shot was heard for miles and even scared Applebloom and Fluttershy. The next thing that was heard was a booming roar. Everyone turned around to see a group of very tall and very thin monsters which were originally eating a dead cow corpse. Now they saw us and the monsters bolted forward towards them.. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter6: Mutant Rampage //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter6: Mutant Rampage They surrounded the house in sheer seconds. The scraping of teeth and the banging oh hooves could be heard from all around the house. A then shocking silence. Nothing was heard, and all the fighters just stood still. The fighter was Frank, Vex, and Applejack. All was quiet till a loud bang came from the front of the house. The horde had knocked down the font door. The shee number of them was unbelievable. The monster that came into the room were all pale from long infection. They were runners due from there tall thin shape and super speed as they charged the group of fighters. All of the fighters want nothing more than to turn and run, but the fear of losing there friends upstairs was greater. The horde was now on top of them. Vex and Frank swung there machetes all around stabbing the sickos in every direction while Applejack bashed brains out with a club. The mutants that were cut down were only replaced with two more in its place. The figures retreated to the the staircase and made a stand. "All or nothing guys" yelled Applejack. The sickos more focused on one place were easily controlled with the fighters melee attacks. A surprising scream was heard in Applejacks room. "I'll be back y'all" yelled Applejack. Frank and Vex knodded. Applejack walked in with Rarity trying to control Dash's bleeding, Applebloom huddled in the corner, and Fluttershy knocked to the floor in a daze. It was Applebloom who was screaming from where a monster was almost through the barricaded window. From the look of it Fluttershy tried to stop the monster only to get hit in the head with one of its hooves. Applejack then charged at the monster stuck in the window and with a solid crack from Applejacks club it stopped moving. Applejack then turned around not forgetting the problem at the stairs. Though as she got to the door she nearly jumped out of her skin as Vex popped in front of the door. "Sorry," said Vex "the stairs are cleared." Which meant the horde had had enough. Now there attention was the blue pegasus on the bed turning it red. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter7: The Bleeding //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter7: The Bleeding Rarity was trying to stop Dash's bleeding but she needed help. Vex, Aplejack, and Frank quickly surrounded the bed. "Vex" started Rarity, "I need you to take this cloth and put around the wound, and at the same time I need you to put pressure on to the wound." Vex knodded and went over to the first-aid kit and pulled out some balls of cotton. He the went to the other side of the bed to Rainbow's right flank. He then put the cotton balls on the clean cut wound. Dash screamed in agony. It only caught Vex by srpise to see that she was crying. He thought she was tuffer. Vex then put his second hoof down to put pressure onto the wound. In no time the cotton balls now stain blood rain. Rarity then dove her front hooves into the first-aid kit and found some surgical toobing. She then tied it around what was left of Dash's wing. Fluttershy was now up and active flying above Dash with more cotton balls and some gauze. Vex raised his hooves up to let Fluttershy do her part. She put the cotton on the wound and then wrapped it as best as she could with the gause. Dash still cried. "What's wrong Dash" asked Applejack. "I'm no longer a pegasus" replied Dash. "Things will never be the same for me." "Yes they will, you just got to believe." "What's to believe in Applejack. I'm now Earth pony without that wing." "Don't worry dash" said Applejack in a calf and whispered voice. "It will be alright. In fact its not that all bad to be an earth pony." "Is it really?" asked Dash. "I know it is, I'll show you on all the basics." "Like a guide?" asked Dash "Like a guide" replied Applejack. "now get some rest." Dash then lied down and fell asleep with in seconds. She did have a rough day. Now she looked so in peace with the world. Applejack then looked to Vex. "Hey red head." yelled Applejack. Vex looked up to her in response. "We need to talk." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter8: A New Quest //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter8: A New Quest Rarity, Applejack, Applebloom, and Vex all went down the stairs. As they went Rarity used the spell telekinesis with her horn to pick up the bodies as they went down the steps. Vex actually didn't notice the horn so he was first surprised as the bodies were magically picked up. Applebloom was talking to Applejack as they went down. Vex didn't pay attention much but they were talking about if other members of the Apple family made it. It actually sounded like they were the only ones left with names of uncle and aunt orange to there closes family member granny smith dead from the illness. As they got down the steps a large red fur horse with blonde mane and tail. "This is Macintosh," said Applejack, "but we call him Big Mac. May I ask you were was you in this." Big Mac looked out of a window in the door in the living room. Vex looked out more. Outside were apple trees were one of them had recently looked like it was bucked of its apples. Vex then noticed that Big Mac had a basket of apples on his back. Rarity had then opened the door and tossed out the rotting corpses outside with her horn still. "So how do you guys know each other miss?" asked Vex. "Its Applejack," replied Applejack, "and related cause he's my brother, oh and that's my sister Applebloom even though you've met her already." Vex looked at Mac who nodded hello then looked at Applebloom. "Hello," said Applebloom who waved at the same time with her hoof. "Hey," yelled Applejack who opened a door near the stairs. "This way um." "Its Vex" replied Vex.he then followed Applejack in to the door which was greeted with steps down to a basement. The basement was a bit dark only illuminated with a candle that was just lit by Applejack. The room was filled with old little things like small furniture and and antiques. Applejack then pulled a chair out with her mouth then started trying to spit out the dust. Vex did the same thing and sat in his chair then Applejack. "Let me ask you some things," started Applejack, " do you know the elements of harmony?" "Yeah" replied Vex, "Do you know who they are or what they look like?" "I only know of Princess Twilight and she governs magic. The other ones are loyalty, generosity, kindness, laughter, and honesty. I only know what the gems look like, but I don't know who have then. Can I ask why your asking me this?" Applejack sighed. "Alright," began Applejack, "most of us here are part of the elements of harmony. The ones who isn't an element is may siblings and Frank who's that light brown pony." Vex stared at her thinking if she's telling the truth. He got up and used his horn to put away the chair behind him. "Prove it," said Vex. Applejack had un-button her shirt revealing a gold necklace with a gem that was orange but looked like it was shaped an apple. "Believe me now," replied Applejack "Okay, were everyone else's?" "Most likely in there bags that y'all carried in here." "Okay I'm listening." "Good," Applejack then got up and trotted to a map at the corner of the room. "How long have you been out here with the forgetters?" "Who are they?" replied Vex. "There what we call those things that are the walking dead," answered Applejack, "any more questions?" "Yeah, were are the other elements if its only you four?" "I'm getting to that. So hold on to all you questions till I'm done. Now since Dash is injured and unable I need you to do something big for me. I need you to go to northwest to a place called filly camp. There you'll find the other elements." "Wait?" Vex interrupted "why?" "Cause you and Frank are the only good enough fighters that we have. I need you and him to travel up there and escort the other elements. A pink fur and pink tail and mane who's name is Pinkie Pie, and the other is Twilight Sparkle." "Wait, I'm not sure if I can do this?" "I thought you may say that, so if you are do what you told we'll give you so many of apples that you will never scavenge again until they rot." Vex remembered the trees out back and druled at the thought of having that many apples. "Yeah," said Vex "I'll do it." "Good," said Applejack "Oh, and one more thing." "What?" "Never head inland or east or north." "Why?" Applejack sighed "Its better if you don't know" finished Applejack. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter4: The sight of Death //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter4: The sight of Death They all knew this was the fastest way out but they didn't want to just die. When they arrived the fillies were being tortured, mutilated, and even raped. Then they came in teeth at the ready and devoured all life on the field. The only one left was one of the fillys that had been raped by one of the bandits. All she had was a wrench at the ready and there was nothing that she could do to escape. One of the monsters knew her. In the past during a raid on the filly's camp one had shot a rock into his eye. The out there was the same one and he was up in the stands enjoying the show. The little thing was drenched in so much blood that you couldn't tell what color it once was. Every time she tried to run one of the monsters would cut her off then play with her. She would eventually escape, but when she did she she would be back out on the field on square one. There were at least twenty of the monsters brethren out there. Some waited there chance to rip her skull out while others did but they wanted to toy with her. Then she made a bolt for the door making this her eighth try and once again she was cut off. She got free, but when she turned around the biggest of the monsters was standing in front of her. He was ghost white with a midnight purple hair and was four feet higher to the the three foot filly. The funniest thing out of all this was the filly's reaction. "Please don't do it." she begged, "please don't hurt me dad." The filly pleaded. The big creature the raised one of his hooves and put it around the filly. The filly then cried into the tall monster's shoulder. The next that happened was that his lower jaw dropped down from his upper jaw. It then split in half and made a gurgling sound. The way it split made it look like an insect. The filly tried to get away, but at last the monster in the stadium was right she was denying her end as the large creature bit through her skull and ripped out the front of it that took of her face from her nose to her forehead. All of they howled as the skull broke signaling dinner. If only they stayed put in that camp of there's in the desert maybe they could survive. Now the monster from the stadium jumped down into the crowd of the walking corpses and blended in with the rest of the horde. Now this was life he thought. The killing of thirty or more of food and feast on there corpses. Let's enjoy the meal laid out in front of us with a fork. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter5: Once Bitten //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter5: Once Bitten There was five of them charging. One was a dirty blue with a purple mane and tail and was covered in bite marks. All the others had been infected for a while due the usual pale white skin and dirty mane or tail. The other one that stood out was a filly who retreated into the woods, which means more will come. Rainbow Dash and Vex was the only ones who stood out in front with there weapons drawer. The others had hid behind them. Dash had her gun out while Vex carried a machete with a jigsaw blade on the back. Rainbow knew that the rest of the group would do this, that's why she wanted Vex to join. "All of you get inside and find help" she said yelling at the ponies behind her. They all listened and ran for Apple Jack's house. The monsters was now on top of Vex and Dash. Vex gripping the machete in his mouth swung and hit one of the pale colored ones in the head. Then two loud bangs were heard and the last of the pale colored monsters fell while Dash reloaded her gun. The blue colored one was no where to be seen. "Impossible" said Dash. They both started to scan. Then a roar was heard as it jumped out of the ground. Covered in dirt it landed right on top of Dash. She screamed as she tried to shake it off. Vex couldn't swing in fear he could hit Dash. Having the feeling that everything was lost a loud bang was heard. On porch of the house a pony with brown fur and even darker brown mane stood at the porch with a hunting rifle. The blue colored mutant fell off of Dash and hit the ground with a solid thud. Dash and Vex ran towards the house full sprint. They entered the house along with there savior. They than ran into the bare living room were the house owner stood. "Did anyone get bit." Said Applejack. Then every started checking themselves. At first it look like they were in the clear until a gasp was heard across the room. It was Applebloom who saw blood dripping from Dash. She raised her wing revealing a bite mark on the upper part of her wing. Applebloom ran to Applejack hugging for both what happens now and I miss you. "Didn't think it wold end like this." said Dash as she drew her gun and was slowly among up to her head. "Now girl," said Applejack. "We'll find a solution to this just lower it down." "You can't fix this Applejack." said Dash. She almost had it all the way up when a sharp pain made her drop it. It came from her right wing were she got bit. It had slowly tore away and fell to the ground. From behind Frank held a machete similar to Vex's and it was covered in Dash's blood. Blood then squirt out of her wound were there once was a wing. Dash collapse from the pain. Fluttershy shrieked as a loud howl was heard from outside. "Shit" said Applejack "Rarity get Dash upstairs" she knodded and grabbed one of Dash's hooves and slung her over her back. They saved Dash from once tion but now were down a fighter for the horde of monsters that are now charging at the house as they speak.
