To the moon and back

"I was amazed when I finally reached the end of the Poneing Dead, I swear I had chills when I had to choose to either kill the stallion who helped me survive all this time or let him die and turn into one of those walkers. I didn't want to traumatize my character so I left him to turn and the ending credits were simply amazing!" said Princess Luna to Shadow March as she sat at the balcony in her room. She looked up at her night sky and smiled, "Do you love my nights Shadow?"

"Yes your highness, I enjoy them" he responded quickly and firmly. Shadow didn't want to tell her he was actually a day kind of stallion but due to his reassignment, he was working nights protecting none other than the mare who causes the night.

Luna turned from her seat to look at her protector and frowned a bit, she wanted him to be more precise or at least say something about the night he liked. Shadow noticed her gaze through his peripheral vision and kept looking onward to the landscape.

"I know you are to maintain military bearing while around me but you also know I don't give a hoot about that with my personal guards, I do need somepony to keep me company as I watch over the night so in a way...it's your duty to converse with your princess of the night" she said with a small smile on her face.

"Of course princess, I am just...not that interesting per say as to you. I just enjoy hearing about your day and such" responded Shadow. Luna motioned him with a finger to come to her and so he did, a bit rigid in his walk.

"Fine but don't think I can't make you squeal Shadow, I can be quite persuasive if I want to be. Now then...do you mind giving me my nightly massage, I am still not one hundred percent used to bringing out the moon like I used to so my body stiffens a bit." She motioned him behind her and Shadow placed his hands on her slender shoulders and neck, he began to slowly dig his fingers into her back and neck to rid his princess of her stress. "Oh heavens...those hands weren't made for guarding at all. I'd say you could give Lotus and Aloe a run for their bits!"

As she commented on his massage, Shadow's face began to slowly glow a bright red. He always did his best to keep his feelings away from the princess while he was at work but she was so informal and chummy with him. He loved her after a few months of working for her, she was much kinder than Celestia and more curious about everything, including him. He smiled as she praised his work and he moved his hands to her wings, he made sure to be rough enough to work out the knots but not hurt her. Time seemed to pass as Luna began to recall one of her many adventures in the world of video games, before either knew it, Princess Celestia emerged from her balcony and waved to them. Shadow immediately backed off from Luna and Luna whined a bit before looking at Celestia and blushing lightly

"I guess we are done for the night Shadow, I'll just lower my moon and we can go" she started to fly up and her horn began to glow, Shadow just watched as the two goddesses preformed their duties to the planet. Luna softly landed and walked inside, "I'll see you tonight Shadow" she said a bit cheerfully but Shadow quickly responded

"Actually, your highness, tonight is my night off. Nec will be taking over for me till the next day." He looked at her a bit worried as to her response.

"Oh...I see. How do you plan on spending your night off then?" she asked, a bit of rasp in her voice.

"I am going to take my daughter to a movie and maybe to her favorite restaurant, as a night guard, it's hard to spend time with my daughter especially after..." he paused and looked down, "After Aurora left us..."

Luna walked up to Shadow and hugged him, her wings surrounded him in an embrace as well, "You are a great father Shadow, your wife was just blinded by her own lust to see that. I'm sorry you are left to raise a filly on your own."

He smiled and blushed, every physical contact with his beloved princess made his heart soar, "It's alright, my neighbors are great ponies. Little Autta already thinks of them as her grandparents, hehehe, they are a very kind old pair so they help take care of her while I am away or sleeping." Luna began to brake the hug as Shadow started to turn and leave, as he was out of sight, she sighed and frowned

"What about me? I'm nice and kind...I think I am...why hasn't he gotten over her already...I can be kind to his daughter and help raise her" a voice echoed in her head

"Silly Luna, he won't ever accept you for he will never accept me! Nopony has and nopony ever will! Get over him and continue your rule over the night, I may be suppressed but I am very much alive."

A tear ran down her cheek and she frowned as she entered her room, "I know...I just...I just wish he could be the one." She began to undress, her dress that hugged her curves so nicely fell to the floor and so did her panties. She often slept in the nude, she felt confined with clothing on as she slept.
