Canterlot
Celestia P.O.V
I know that there isn't a chance that we will win this war, the Griffins are to powerful, and with our Guard count falling by the minute it won't be long till the Griffins break through the our defensive line.
Bless the souls who are giving their lives for Equestria, they deserve a better death than being killed in revenge of a false assassination attempt, I know it's false because while I was in the Crystal Empire I heard a few Griffins talking about a pegasus called 'Lightning Strike', and that he explained how there were random assaults on ponies in Equestria, and that I ordered a covert team to go into the Griffin Kingdom and take out the King.
Me and Maximus used to be friends you know?
Heck, when our trading was at it's highest (we traded coal and jewels) he would come to visit 3 times a month, and since we were both rulers of the largest kingdoms on Equis we would share hardships between us.
But I'd never go TOO far, heh.
But I digress,
I know that what I am about to do will not work, but I would give it all for the safety of my ponies.
And that is why I am going to meet Luna on the Canterlot Castle balcony where we usually raise the sun and the moon. Our plan is, we will combine our power together and fire a distress beacon into the far reaches of the galaxy. With our power combined it will be likely that at least one technologically advanced race will hear it, or a magically advanced race for that matter.
This is our last hope, and if we do not get any help, then Luna and I will take on the griffins ourselves, and as unlikely as it is that we will win.
We will not go down begging, we will go down with rage in our hearts for the amount of ponies that the Griffins have killed, and as odd as it seems for me, Princess Celestia, one of the calmest beings in this entire UNIVERSE possibly to show hatred.
Every ruler has their breaking point
I have approached mine.
The façade that I have put up for millennia will leave along with the calm, collected Celestia. But at least the ponies in the Final Fortress will not be harmed
But I have only one worry..
Nightmare Moon..
If Luna has kept enough hatred to herself she will turn, I know it, even the Griffins will not be able to stop her. And as good as it sounds, would she turn back to Luna? or would she continue her once failed campaign of eternal night?
Only Time Will Tell..
"Ah, sister, you have finally arrived!" Luna smiled "Yes Luna, but let us not forget why we are here, and the objective at hoof." Luna returned to her normal neutral face."We suppose that you had a lot of stress on your mind Tia, but know that the reinforcements that we may get from the distress signal will help us dearly". "I know Luna but.. what if there are no reinforcements? and that the distress signal is not picked up by anyone?" I sighed.
"Tia, I have known you for centuries, millennia even, I know that you are not a pony that will always think positive, but today, our ponies need us, they need a leader capable enough to lead them onwards to victory, I know that you have been saddened by the loss of so many ponies, but we have to make sure their loss is not in vain..". The comforting words from Luna brought a smile to my face. "Thank you Luna, I needed that, but know that a capable ruler will not always pull off something like this without help..will you help me?" Luna closed her eyes and chuckled lightly "Tia, you know that I will always be by your side, of course I will help you, that was a silly question"
I trotted towards her and pulled her into an embrace which she returned "Thank you Luna, now, let us do this". Luna nodded as our horns started to glow.
"To whoever can hear this
This is an urgent request of help
Our once peaceful nation
Has been torn apart by war
We are sending this distress flare
Across the far reaches of the galaxy
We do not wish to fight
But our enemies are relentless
If anyone has received this,
Please help us"
A flurry of lights flashed around our horns and a beam of light was shot into the sky, that beam of light is pony-kind's last hope.
And that last hope better not fail us.
Outer rim of Canterlot
A light shot into the sky and into the far reaches of space, all of the ponies watched in amazement as this light sped off and slowly twinkled, many ponies thought than it was a firework, but why would anypony be firing fireworks at a time like this? Equestria is at war, why is anybody happy?.
Many others thought that Celestia had killed herself, and that like every pony that had passed before at night, their spirits became stars, but nopony believed this because the light hadn't formed a new star and that their courageous leader would not leave them at a time like this
There were many other ridiculous hypotheses such as 'The war had been won' or 'Celestia took Halley's comet and threw it into the sky in frustration', but only one of them knew the true meaning of this light.
Twilight Sparkle
She saw the light, and she finally knew how desperate the Princesses were to prevent any more bloodshed, and Twilight could only hope that someone would answer their prayer and that the creators blessed this light to find a world which could help them.
