"Whooo weee!" Applejack shouted as she finished the last of her chores for the day. "That was a mighty tall list of chores for me to do. But Ah got 'em all finished!" She then lay down in a pile of hay. "Wow, am I beat!" she yawned. "Ah, think ah might take a nap. Just… for a couple minutes or so…" Applejack then tilted her hat over her face and fell right asleep.
Sometime later in the day, she was suddenly awoken by a loud booming noise. She was startled from her nap and wondered what happened for a second. She grabbed her hat off the ground and looked out her barnyard door. It was a heavy thunderstorm packing some booming thunder and bright lighting that crackled. "My! Must've dosed off for longer than ah thought. Looks like the storm woke me up." She noticed that it was raining heavily. "Well, I sure as heck a'int goin' back to the house in this here downpour. I'd be drenched more than fallin' into the murky swamp water at Froggy Bottom Bog." Apple than sat back in her hay stack and fell asleep again only to be awoken by another loud rumble of thunder a couple of minutes later. "Geez, can't a girl get some sleep durin' a storm in a barn?!" she exclaimed at the weather; even though it wouldn't do her much good. She let out a sigh and tried to sleep for a third time. Before she fully fell asleep, she heard a soft voice call out to her. "Hey, Applejack."
She tilted her hat backwards and looked towards the door of the barn and noticed it was Pinkie Pie; soaking and drenched from the storm with a gloom look on her face. "Pinkie! What in tarnation are you doing out in the middle of a thunderstorm? You'll catch a cold!" Applejack said as she was shocked by her friend in the rain.
Pinkie just let out a sigh and simply replied, "Yeah, I know."
"Come on in, no sense leavin' ya out there!" The country mare opened the door for Pinkie as she slowly walked into the dry barn and out of the cool, wet, drenching rain outside. "Pinkie, you don't look like yourself. Are you ok?" She noticed that her mane and tail were a dull grey and flat; aside from the usual puffy pink she's used to wearing it.
"Well sort off." Pinkie said in a down tone of voice. "You see. I have a problem."
Applejack put a hoof on Pinkie and asked, "What kind of a problem?"
"It's… it's a love problem and I don't know if you'd be the right pony to answer my question."
"A love problem, huh? Well, true, I'm not the pony to talk to when it comes to love, but Ah'll do my best to answer it. So, what is your problem?"
Pinkie took a deep breath and began to speak. "Well, you see, I have to tell a special somepony very important."
"Oh?" Applejack pondered. "What is this 'thing' you have to tell this special somepony?"
"That's the problem. I can't tell them right away because if I do, I would fear they may not take what I have to say to them seriously."
"Ah, I see. Well, you can tell me. I Pinkie Promise I won't tell anypony else." she then went through the motions of a Pinkie Promise.
"Okay Applejack." Pinkie Pie said before taking a deep breath. "You see I love this somepony and I really want to tell them face to face."
"And who is this 'special somepony'?" AJ questioned her.
Pinkie inched herself closer and closer towards AJ. "Uh, Pinkie? Why are you inching closer and closer to me?"
"It's… it's… it's…" Pinkie whispered as she was almost on top of the orange pony. She drew herself closer to AJ's face, and said quietly, "…it's you." Immediately, she closed her eyes and planted a sweet kiss on Applejack's soft lips. Pinkie leaned into AJ that it caused the both of them to fall into the hay pile behind the blonde maned pony; causing Pinkie to be on top of Apple. Soft moans came from between the two ponies as they kissed each other tenderly. They were lost in a world filled with imagination and ecstasy that seemed to be never-ending for the both of them.
After for what seemed like an eternity, Pinkie slowly pulled out of the kiss and opened her gorgeous sapphire blue eyes that stared into Applejack's emerald green eyes. They both breathed as they looked at each other for a couple of minutes; saying nothing. "Well, uh, Ah wasn't expectin' that Pinkie." Apple said, breaking the silence.
"I know." Pinkie responded; beginning to talk faster. "I mean I was actually going to say these words to you sooner, but I was nervous for what you might think of me and I thought this over millions of times and…" Pinkie was silenced as AJ placed a hoof over Pinkie's mouth. "Pinkie…" she said slowly.
"Yes, Applejack?"
"Just shut up and kiss me."
Pinkie just smiled as the two earth ponies again kissed each other in the haystack as Applejack and Pinkie wrapped their hooves around each other's necks; drawing themselves closer towards each other. The country mare was awestruck that Pinkie admitted to her that she had feelings for her. Apple had wondered why Pinkie loves her, but that was the least of her worries right now. Right now, she was expressing her love in the form of a passion filled kiss.
Pinkie broke the kiss again and looked at AJ and giggled, "Wow, your kisses do taste like apples!"
"And your kisses taste like cotton candy!" Applejack replied with a smile.
"Hmmm, that should be an idea for a new treat at Sugar Cube Corner," Pinkie pondered. "Apple flavored cotton candy, or apples dipped in cotton candy syrup. Oh oh! How about apple cupcakes with cotton candy icing! Mmmm, that sounds tasty!"
"Ah bet it would Pinkie. Ah'd be anxious to try them!" Applejack chuckled at the pony that makes random thoughts every few seconds.
"I might work on that recipe…" Pinkie was interrupted by a loud rumble of thunder and crackle of lightning outside. "…after the storm passes."
"Yeah, don't want to get wet again now would we?"
"Nah! Don't want to do that again! All I want to do now is to be dry and warm next to the best pony I could know right now." She kissed Applejack's lips softly. "I love you AJ."
"And I love you too you, my sweet Pinkie Pie!"
"And I love you, my applely Applejack!" Pinkie giggled and snorted.
Apple just smiled and nuzzled her lover as Pinkie rested on Apple's warm chest as they closed their eyes and fell into a deep sleep dreaming about apple cupcakes with sweet cotton candy icing on top of them and how sweet they would taste afterwards…
