//-------------------------------------------------------// The Trotting Dead -by d4shftw- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Back Story //-------------------------------------------------------// Back Story I stared into the warm glaze of the fire. The warmth was the only thing keeping me going. Nopony else made a sound, all of us just stared into the fire like no one wanted to continue living. The silence wasn't broken till a rustle in the bushes made every pony turn and look to where it came from. I looked back to my sister sitting across from me. She didn't even flinch from the noises around her. I couldn't see her eyes but i knew she was crying. I couldn't come close to understanding how she felt. See her parents ripped apart and her younger sister being eaten only because she didn't have the strength to save her. They were my parents and my younger sister to but i needed to be strong. Not to survive but to help my sister survive to. If i give up she does too but I have been through enough shit to cry now. I had to finish off my youngest to make sure she didn't turn. I don't know why i didn't feel any thing when i jabbed the knife into her head but I didn't do it once, I just kept stabbing and stabbing and stabbing like I enjoyed it. I felt her warm blood splatter on to my coat and just couldn't stop. Once i was finished i just turned to my sister who was watching. She stared in horror I laid over he dead sister. I just mouthed to her "I'm sorry". I Loved both my younger sisters but I still have not found out why I just kept stabbing her. It sits in the back of my mind eating away at my sanity. I turned my head back to the crackling fire. Six other ponies sat around the fire along with two young fillies cuddled up to their parents for warmth. I was never good at understanding a parents love for their young. Why they would give up every thing for them just to see them happy. My parents didn't love me as much as they did my two sisters, I had to work for everything I got whereas they would just have to clap their hoofs together and they just got it. I will never know if they did actually love me just as much because they are dead now, rotting in what used to be my home where they have probably became snack time. I didn't want to get close to any one in our little group because if they died i didn't want to carry that burden with me. They were not the surviving type of ponies i wish i was with. A bunch a rock headed, plot kissers is what my sister thought of them and i couldn't disagree. They couldn't survive anything even if daring doo taught them her self. I had to deal with them because it would be to much work to have me and my sister do. I thought of killing the groups so called leader but i would be to hard to cover up. My sister came up with a plan to steal most of the supplies and leave and i agreed to do it. Even though i didn't thin it was a great idea. "Ready to go Inkwell?" My sister whispered to me one night. "Lets do it Sunset Blossom" I whispered back. "Hey Just call me Sunset for the last time already" she replied back.
