An Explosive Journey
The Beginning...
Load Full StoryNext ChapterWaiting in line, boring. Waiting in line at the airport so you can check for your flight, extremely agitating as well as boring as heck. To add insult to injury, my flight is supposed to leave in about 45 minutes, and where am I? Sill at the back of a line about 20 people long, who are also needing to check their luggage in for their flights. To make matters even worse, my flight is from Toronto, Ontario all the way to LA... Not the kind of flight to be missing, especially if one lands a job at a certain club, named MIA.
Jason Morrison... Toronto Pearson International Airport
'Why is this line not moving? I've been standing here since 3am, and I doubt that this person in front should even be here, it's been what, almost an hour? Good thing I got here an hour and a half early.'
"Crap, why is this taking so long!" Ok, irritably making an outburst in an airport is probably not a good idea... I'm being stared at now…
"I guess it's the old hag at the front of the line. At least, that's what I think about all the long lineups at anything important." Alright, I don't know who you are, but you are now my instant best friend, because that was just too funny.
As I turn around, I see some other guy about the same age as me, and has a guitar among his luggage. Tall white guy, maybe 5-foot-nine, short copper hair, as well as a well-kept goatee. Heh, put sunglasses on him and you'd swear he's Postal Dude…
"Name's Jason Morrison. Yours?" I extend my hand, which is happily met with his, and we shake. In those couple of seconds, I catch him reading me, as I am also reading him. We're both onto each other…
"Jack Lenson. Pleasure." I decide to act first and drill him..
"Quick, Branch Theory in a nutshell."
"Multiverse concept, the division of universes is governed by choice. Time travel coincides with this theory as well. Space anomoly that was onboard the Watcher's Nest?" Was this guy really asking me something about anime?
Scratch that, he's running with the same idea? This is either epic or scary, I can't decide which emotion to feel.
"Two universes were shifted and crossed in a single onboard room. Cause of the anomoly was Ensign Kureha; her unfathomable powers enabled her to create a universe where all of her friends lived without the trageties that happened originally in the series, but at the cost of her existence within said universe, and the only one to notice that anything was up was Lyar Von Ertiana. Best pony?"
"Before the episode A Friend In Deed, Fluttershy. After seeing said episode, Pinkie, hands err hoofs down. By the way, line's moving." Oh shit.
As I grab my luggage, which consisted of one normal sized suitcase, along with a sort of dolly to carry my boards, cables and other sound equipment, I start to feel light headed; though it also felt different. I knew I wasn't deficient in any way, and I had gotten enough sleep the day before, so this was kind of strage. As I grabbed my huge pile of luggage for support, I saw a white flash, and then some weird popping noise. I was effectively blind for maybe a couple minutes, but to me it sort of felt like hours, maybe because I haven't had to experiece this before now.
As my eyes adjusted from the blinding flash of light, to the dimly lit room, I noticed that I was in either a house or loft. I decide to take a look at where I am exactly, and take in the details of the room. For one, the furniture seemed a little odd; it was all low, as if it were made for someone or something that was around 3 or 4 feet tall; next was the fact that the blinds were pulled shut, and everything seemed as if they haven't been cleaned for a while. If there's one thing that this place could tell me, is that the inhabitant is quite obviously depressed.
Taking a look around the house to see if I can find any clues as to where I am, I spot a strikingly familiar golden ticket. Picking it up, I see that it's in a language that I didn't know even existed, let alone one that I understood; and yet I felt as if I knew what is said on the ticket. For some reason, I ran my thumb over the text on it, and just as I do so, my head feels a sudden surge.
Starting to feel a little dizzy, I move back from the coffee table in the middle of the common room, and sit on the couch somewhat awkwardly. The surge in my head seemed to feel like information was being jammed into my mind; taking this in stride, I let in the information, and I am flooded with knowledge of the language written on the ticket. Not learning how to speak it mind you, but just able to read it, as if it was being translated for me into english as it was being read. Picking up the ticket again, I take another look at it, and I am simply shocked at what I see.
'This ticket hereby declares that Princess Celestia invites you, Lyra Heartstrings, to the Grand Galloping Gala.'
This information hits me like a ton of bricks. I nearly faint from both shock and excitement. But just as I am about to sit down, there seems to be someone - err somepony coming towards the house. Thinking quickly, I place the ticket back where it was found, on the coffee table, and then I sit down on the couch, trying to make myself look as peaceful as possible. The door opens, and I come face to face with the mint green unicorn herself...
